Inb4 Grouch appearance.
Yeah, game’s pretty kitten atm, that’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.
Most friends left, balance is non-existent and Jon&Co keep pumping cheese into the game.
Also, where is the balance preview?
I had a bearbow who died in first 5 seconds after getting on platform.
The rest of the group rushed to rez him in a bomb and wiped in no time.
I was literally fighting a boss alone with 4 noobs on the ground.
The amount of kittenstorm I unleashed on them after the event was of biblical proportions.
So yeah, they get good, I get nice. This or Anet makes better events.
So many ships on the horizon, I wouldn’t even bother with Anet’s gemstore ventures.
Please, stop complaining and go buy some gems.
Warrior is balanced around players like Anet’s QA who, as seen in twitch streams, click their skills.
GG WP.

Coincidence? I don’t think so.
It seems like a well thought out concept, but honestly, GW2 doesn’t have the intricacy and mechanics to bring back the GW1 feel. It has just been watered down too much in favor of MOBA-like gameplay (stunstunpewpewgg).
Missing your ranger, eh?
I will stop flaming in solo queue when Anet decides to fix the game and balance the cheese they created.
May page 1 happen.
Hi,
I’m starting an initiative to help mighty meak climb out of the MMRhell and bring his gf back.
Not all is vain.
Help him pls.
Best post since the launch
Better than the game itself
By far
All is vain
Came back to play some famed GW2 PvP after a break.
I played my first 3 matches after the leaderboard reset.
This is what welcomes me:
First match – 3 syncers from the same guild in the opposing team, I had a decent team so we fought them pretty well.
Second match – lowranks 4-man capping close at the start, then one leaves. GG
Third match – screenshot.
I’m done for another month.
When will you fix it, Anet? When will you finally make it playable?
Probably the worst storytelling I’ve encountered in my life.
Absolute garbage, even compared to the Personal Story.
1) Where are compelling characters that stick around?
2) Where is continuity?
3) Why do voice-over if you have just a few voice actors (all voices sound the same)?
4) Everything is childish like hell making the story feel dumb, not serious.
5) Fragmentation, fragmentation, fragmentation.
6) Scarlet.
…
I should be sleeping already to get to work early, but I just can’t stop laughing at Scarlet’s involvement. HAHAHA.
When will it be over?
“You never feel like you’re grinding”
Hahahahaha. Hah.
Same reaction, I almost spit my cocoa listening to this.
Guys, we need to prove ourselves. Anet had to use p/p thief, staff guardian, staff necro, lb ranger and some other thief to even think about completing new fractals.
Reset justified.
I’m always wondering if the tester team does that on purpose or is it just their legit gameplay.
Are you saying you don’t find Living Story fun?
Boost me to 50 where I belong! This or I quit?! You heard me! I QUIT!
:D
It’s like a slap in the face from my perpective.
ArenaNet haven’t given any explanation why this is implemented.
Until then or until the decision is reverted, I consider myself deeply wronged.
kitten…
Thief is easy to kill as a necro.
Ele is easy to kill as a necro.
Mesmer is easy to kill as a necro.
Necro is difficult given they’re both on the same skill level.
Warrior and guardian will usually prove difficult.
As always everything depends on specs.
Next step: remove all ascended gear people accumulated to set everyone on even footing.
You heard it first here.
LOL
tbh, I care about my personal 80 as much as I care about this game right now, which is none
Will zerker be the way to go? I don’t want to invest in armor/accessories that I’m not going to use
Unless you’re running Fractals 80, yes.
I am where the necro DPS is. Just ask around.
@up: in a month, literally.
Some events in Kessex Hills. Probably temporary though. We’ll see.
Ohh and there is this big Tower of Nightmares, but you can’t enter it (yet?). May be a future dungeon.
Cheers!
Reposting this from the general thread to have a shot at broadening the discussion.
Taken from the mesmer post:
Scepter
Scepter is still missing something but we don’t want to overload the autoattack as we think that promotes more mindless play and are trying to move away from builds that focus so much on the “1” skill. I feel like that scepter should be the tricksy defender that can stop enemies from attacking and defend allies, but maybe it’s single target nature is keeping that from working.
Are there changes possible to necro weapons that greatly revolve around just that – spamming ‘1’, whether it’s the dagger, the DS, the axe or the scepter.
In general after palying most professions I feel that necromancer, which is my favourite character, is really left behind in the fun weapon category. They are usually decent, good even, but all are missing some nice skills that would make the gameplay more fun.
Usual necro fights:
Snare skill (Chillblains, Grasping Dead, Dark Pact) -> DPS AoE -> ‘1’, ‘1’, ‘1’
Repeat.
I probably am a little biased, but that’s how I feel. Could the necro get some interesting chains on their skills to make it more fun than it already is?
I think there is no discussion making things more fun and more active should be the way to go when designing and evolving each profession.
Once again, thank you, Jon, for taking your time at the weekend.

Necromancer:
The necromancer’s mobility will remain where it is currently, as we want the Necromancers to be focused on sustaining themselves through death shroud, siphoning health, and slowing down their opponent’s ability to act.
A thing that the Devs never seem to acknowledge is that:
- there are parts of the game where mobility is king. In WvW being left behind a train and having to roam with a mobility just slightly better than this of a trebuchet isn’t fun.
Is there a way to give necro some mobility without killing its flavour and breaking the balance? - Power builds unmentioned, even though they’ve been the underdog since the release. Is the necromancer supposed to be a condition class that has some strong but limited power capabilities? If so, is there anything in the works that would make them on par with professions like warriors/guardians/mesmers in PvE? What is the necro supposed to do in dungeons with the other professions offering much much more? How are latest updates addressing those issues?
- Is the condi vs objects things discussed internally? Just another thing that requires attention…
Overall, I like the communication and the effort you guys are putting. I would just prefer to see more of a general acknowledgement of current issues of different professions in various game types.

1. Game modes
2. Balance philosophy
3. Rewards and progression
Congrats, guys.
You just understood what I’ve known for a better part of the year.
Time to move on, the sooner the better.
Well, Allie clearly isn’t responsible. Her job is to gather what people write and present it to the Devs.
The balance team on the other hand… it is probably the poorest team in the whole studio. While I can say that sPvP was improved throughout the year, slowly and by not much, but was improved, I cannot say that about balance.
The balance team is just so disjointed from the actual state of the game that it is painful for me to even think of it.
People were giving feedback regarding balance for months and here we are; with cheese being everywhere even though no one asked for it.
Allie, you asked for constructive feedback explaining that it would help you understand the root of the problem. I think, after 12 months, that the problem is inside, not outside, given how much valuable feedback people had given and where we ended.
I know the devs want this game to succeed, but I will refuse to paticipate in braindead, uninspired content like Crown Pavillion.
Game’s been reduced to farming for cosmetic stuff and legendaries, which people get and then quit the game.
This has to stop.
1.Syncing
2.TSing
3.Keep on joining to be synced with similar high rating players after successful streaks of wins..
4.Avoid specific players (enemies or allies) after one loss by waiting for 5-10minutes.
5.Avoid queuing up on high prime time.
Ever heard of League of Legends? That’s what people do.
Couple it with a low population and you get what we have.
It’s not my fault I got matched with Adam, who I know and often talk to on TS.
It’s not my fault some people don’t use TS. Some do and if you want to be competitive, you have to do it too. It’s called risk management. I always ask my teammates to come and talk when we’re playing. It isn’t wrong. It is good and says you care about winning.
It’s not my fault that the population at the top, which at the same time happens to be the most active one (often the only one active), is very small. We would play in virtually the same setup few times in a row. Same teams. Both.
And sorry, but me and Adam weren’t syncing. We would sit on the TS and laugh about finally being matched against each other or maybe fighting some other opponents. It hasn’t happened, because there were only few people playing. There was no alternative to it. Same case for most players on the top. You’ll understand how it looks like when you’re at that level.
Wish more people had balls like you instead of being pathological liars.
I asked Leman – He clearly denied it.
Shh Shad – Denied it.Not that it matters. It was no brainer that players were syncing.
Wow, seriously?
Have you read my post?
Copied from a topic titled ‘Do something about sync queuing….’
Guilty as charged… in a way.
I got matched with same people a few times.
I wouldn’t call that a sync, it’s just what happens just in the beginning when there aren’t enough people to play with – you will get on the same match with the people in your rating range who are currently queuing; you’ll be in the same team or against each other.
It may look like sync, but that’s essentially what ratign is for, to place the people of similar rating level in matches together.
Give it some time.
Also – maybe l2p by calling your teammates on TS when you play Solo Arena before you call someone a pathological liar…

Hey there,
Here’s the deal:
Staff (geomancy) – Scepter (earth) / Dagger (geomancy); BiP; SoS; Flesh Wurm; Flesh Golem
Choose the sniper guy (second on the list) and pick your gambits (don’t take Tremor and Crowd Favourite)
Place the Wurm on your spawn location for emergency teleport.
The aim is to unload all the DPS you have and use your very strong CC when you’re in trouble – golem rush, fears, blinds.
The guy will just die.
Remember to hide behind the golem when you’re about to get killshot and use Dark Path to teleport to the guy without triggering mines.
Screenshot with skills/traits attached.

All Evon supporters will laugh, when we find out that Thaumanova fractal is…
wait for it…
…temporary…
Could be worse, we could be like Joss Whedon.
Would you want to?
Zhaitan fight fractal, please. I want to shoot cannons again.
With Cutthroat Politics, ArenaNet created something that will resonate through years.
We will never forget how we were robbed of the Fall of Abaddon.
This turned out to be a bad design. Thousands of players are left disappointed, including some of the devs.
Yes, I am angry and I have every right to be! My anger flows through me and fuels me to vigorously write posts of feedback hoping someone reads it and prevents this from happening again.
Was Cutthroat Politics designed to make me angry like it just did? And the thing with heralds…
I disagree. Some people thought Gnashblade was set up to win. I think what this really boiled down to is hardcore vs casual players.
And given there are billion casual players and a few hardcore ones, the winner was rather obvious.
We have a bunch of Putrid Marks waiting in Kiel’s house.
The Necromancer Order of Tyria.
+ the dev said he really wanted to work on the Abaddon fractal.
The next fractal will probably be about the liberation of Quaggans from the Krait. Epic.
Would a dev care to explain why they announced two different winners in the game?
This is probably the saddest day in Tyrian history.
Please tell us that the Fall of Abaddon is not lost.
It’s not okay to show us two amazing concepts and then say ‘hahaha, you’re not getting one of those!’.
CoE 2.0 incoming. With even more golems, lasers, portals, jumping pads and annoying asuran voice-overs.
It’s wrong imo. So sad.
(edited by leman.7682)
With the voting coming to an end, I think it is wise to stop and think about what Cutthroat Politics taught us.
Setting the personal preference to who is a better or worse candidate, I’d like to thank the Community for a fun time campaigning Ellen and Evon. It’s been a blast.
Now, to the main topic; having us choose between certain sets of perks associated with each candidate was a great idea. It adds the feeling of having an impact on the world, even if for some it was only a feeling.
I played GW1 and personally I would die to see the Abaddon fractal. I didn’t understand why someone could pick Thaumanova over it until I realized that there are people who feel the same about the second fractal. People with different preferences and backgrounds pick different things. This is natural and perfectly understandable, but…
It’s the first time we’re getting something meaningful, something that actually intrigues the players and having them give up on one thing for another isn’t right.
Right now:
- We don’t need minigames and yet you give us all of them.
- We don’t need more backpieces, but here they are.
- We don’t need more jumping puzzles and yet again…
- We could live without completing another sets of piñata-achievements, but they keep coming.
- We need interesting new adventures in places never seen before, but you come and tell us to take our pick.
It shouldn’t be like this, this is not a choice I want to make. Life has enough of those.
I don’t want such choice because someone will be disappointed. (in this case quite possibly close to 50% of the voting playerbase)
If the choice was whether to move Lion’s Arch to Skrittsburgh or which one of the two already existing areas to explore first then it would be okay.
But you show us two beautiful pictures and say that the one we pick will be given to us, while the other will disappear, being only an idea planted in our minds. How many people will like both pictures?
Give us both fractals, I don’t want cheaper waypoints. Hell, you can even make them more expensive for some time if it could get us both adventures.
If the conclusion of Cutthroat Politics means that we will not see the Fall of Abaddon or the Thaumanova explosion, then I no longer want to be a part of this game.
Oh well…
If the Devs believe that the incoming animation reduction system is going to fix THIS, I have no idea if I should cry or just leave.
Sometimes my mind is just uncapable to comprehend the rationale behind some decisions made in GW2.
Kiel is such a kitteny NPC I would have to be on the edge of a sword to vote for her.
No to that kitten and no to anyone supporting this kind of poor design!
Worst idea of the month as far as I’m concerned…
What Empa wrote.
