And how do you think the playerbase would react if they, for the first actual situation where we could effect stuff, would be kittened over by the fact that the things promised are broken?

People already whine about ArenaNet not listening to the community, and if they do something as big as doing a election and then completely ignore the result people would explode, and I would say that is not really a good thing from ArenaNets point of view.

True, but it still is one of the selling points of the candidates.
What would be the point of that selling point if we would get both of them anyway?

^ But then again on the other hand NOT limiting it to one of the Fractals would make the choice for Fractal completely useless, since both would be released anyway.

We can’t. Most likely because they don’t want to here whines about manipulating if one side suddenly get a major influx of votes which changes the % quite a bit.

The votes are actually made by putting the support tokens in the boxes, therefore it would be quite easy to count the votes.

Same with upgrading materials via the Mystic Forge, you need to have the material on you in order to do it.

I opened 20 Black lion chests 5 minutes ago, and i didn’t get anu scraps or tickets. Am i unlucky or is the drop chance lower than expected? I know you can get them now cause it says so on the site. I quote:

“A new week means new items available through the Black Lion Trading Company! This week I’m pleased to offer up a very special new item: Candidate Support Bundles that let you show your support and stake a claim in the future of Lion’s Arch! I’ve also got a fancy new set of Aetherized Weapon Skins for you – read on to learn more!”

The new week is under way for almost 2 whole days now. So that can’t be the problem.

The patch is not live yet……

I remember back in the days where the servers went down for more or less a day with every single patch AND 4-5 hours downtime once a week on top of that.

We are spoiled.

So, basically because your choice seems to be losing (how you can know that before the actual vote and event is started) you think that ArenaNet is “intending for the other guy to win”

From what I gather they have basicly changed it to this:

Instead of having 1% chance to get a ticket, you have a 10% chance to get 1 out of 10 needed scraps in order to make a whole ticket.

Actually it would seem that the chance for getting scraps would be closer to 25% based on the comment about Keys (which had around 25% drop-rate from the chest)

Issues can always turn up, even after the initiation of the patching is started.

They are most likely not built the same way the PvE server are and could therefore be more likely to screw something up with a patch.

And yet you are assuming that the majority of players actually read the patch notes.

Those that don’t will not really know about stuff like this and would most likely vote for Kiel since they know about her but have more or less never seen or heard of Evon.

And yet it would seem that the direct purchase does not generate enough money, they have tried it after all, so they most likely know.

And you CAN buy the weapons directly (even without gems) from the Trading Post, since they are not soulbound until they are used.

They gave a timeframe when they announced the patch was incoming, “within the next 1-2 hours”. They are most likely not going to give a new timeframe until they actually know what is going on.

As for putting sPvP/WvW back online that could very much be part of the problem for all we know.

One can assume that this is due to some issues they are having, so they are most likely working kitten getting it out asap.

I am rather sure that you can get those skins via the Candidate Trial in-game.
You are also able to use the new scraps that will drop from the chest to build a ticket with which you can get the skin you want.

No no, probably most of the population would agree some wooden weapons aren’t worth spending money on and thats why they didn’t sell. The first time I ever saw someone use one of those weapons was like two days ago really~

I am rather sure that I saw on these very forums people shouting about being able to get Brahams Shield and Mace and Rox’s Bow and Quiver. All of those were later added in the game store as direct buys.

But I suppose “most of the population” didn’t like those either?

Actually they didn’t sell a single weapon skin in the GW1 store.
Another thing to keep in mind is that in GW1 you had to pay 100% of any purchase with real money, whilst in GW2 you can pay part/all of it with ingame money.

Each tick has to be sent to and from the server, having a high number commands just for a single thing would kill the server quite fast.

Don’t really see the issue, this does go quite clearly under convenience and it is not like they will get automatic support just because you buy the package. You still have to actually support them.

Really, “only” one ticket? Was it ever more than one? Also, the addition of the ticket scraps might help the players to eventually get the weapon but on the other hand it forces them to buy at least 10 keys (if they’re lucky), what makes the skin cost minimum 900 gems.

Yep, and before this people could be “forced” to pay 10 000+ gems and not get it, now they are more or less guaranteed to get them sooner or later. How is that not an improvement?

The RNG seems to lessen quite a bit as well with the new scraps.

Different kinds of weapons I would say.

The weapons dropping from the Candidate Trials are referred to as Aetherized weapon rather than Aeatherblade weapons.

^So they are basically doing what people have been shouting about for several months.

How about we do away with upgrade system altogether and everything is permanently T3? The reason I suggest this is that with the cheapness of superior siege plus all the bonus damage from wxp trait lines it is quite possible to be at the lords room in a paper keep these days before the white sword symbol even shows.

I usually get quite a bit of coin when running smaller 2-5 man groups. Every single event done gives coin, and many of those don’t require a zerg.

The fact that you seems to believe that the only way to gain coin in WvW is to zerg shows a rather big lack of understanding of the format.

Hm, my mistake then, I thought I remember them only being on the actual airship.

Because there are none in the actual zone, they are all on the airship, which WILL leave when the Bazaar is over.
There is no information about if the map itself will be removed though.

You get more money for everything when you are higher level as well though, so it really is quite balanced.

Because you earn gold by playing it, simple as that.

I don’t mean switching Cutthroat Politics to another city. I mean the arcs beyond that. It wouldn’t be very hard to write the next arcs to be focused in another city.

I know that you didn’t mean switching the current one.
But my point still stands: Switching focus for the sake of switching would just look bad.

If the situations that arise are influencing Lions Arch it would be quite weird to have them taking place in DR or the Grove.

Sooner or later the story most likely will move towards other parts of the world, but that should come naturally, not being moved for the sake of moving.

So basically moving the Living Story just for the sake of moving it rather than to have it make sense?
