People need to understand that some issues aren’t really that easy to solve.
No matter how good servers you have there is always a risk of issues for someone.
Sure they can limit the amount of players on each map even more, but will that really solve anything? It will just make people stop bothering with WvW since they don’t want to spend hours in queues.
We have quite a few times each week where there are queues on our maps, and yet we don’t have “unplayable lag” so clearly the issue might not actually be the servers, bur rather the players machines or the playing style of the higher tier servers.
Mmmm… like I said, Cautiously Optimistic. I REALLY hope youre right. On another note, you said that it’s possible. Now i’d like to ask if you personally think it will happen that way, and if youre looking forward to it : )
Yes, I think it will happen that way and I am indeed looking forward to it.
I personally prefer new additions to a game that actually makes sense in the game-world, not just suddenly discovering a whole new continent just like that with an expansion pack.
They will most likely not add a whole continent in one release, but it is fully possible to release one part at a time.
The only reason expansions can do that is because they takes a long time before they are released, what ArenaNet is doing is simply cutting it into pieces and giving us some of them here and there instead of a big chunk once a year.
Quite impressive that the other server manage to have people covering every single entrance to the safe zone, don’t you think?
So, you didn’t actually read the article that announced the “no expansion” thing then?
They made it quite clear in that very article that they will add new areas and stuff found in expansions via the Living story (they already added an area this way, back in November, Southsun Cove).
I would personally say that this is a BETTER way to get all those epic stuff out, since an expansion will always be somewhat limited, but releases every 2 weeks can add quite a bit of side-tracks or whatever without people having to wait a year or so.

Funnily enough they had achievement like these in the Aeatherblade dungeon. And people raged like mad on these forums about it being “impossible”.
I would say that the stacking limit is due to technical reasons (stuff with database values and such)

That wouldn’t really work though. Since the racial regions have different kinds of government. As far as I know only Lions Arch actually have a “democratic” leadership.

I am in a prominent WvW Guild on our server. We tend to have guild events in WvW quite often, which often means running around as a guild and doing stuff.
With the proposed changes we would suddenly be punished for playing as a guild, and I don’t really see how that is a good thing, in any way or form.

I think this is rather extreme.
Already in pve when several players hit the same normal (non-boss/veteran) monster usually only one of them gets loot. So are you implying that pve is full of such cries as well? as not everybody gets loot from the same monster when several people are blasting it.

Everyone in PvE have a chance for loot (individually) when several people kill the same mob.

Not necessarily.
But I’m not pushing it on others. If my suggestion is implemented, then all playstyles will be equally valid and not just zerging. In fact, it seems that the status quo is pushing people into following a particular playstyle since zerging is the only way to get lots of loot in WvW.
No, if this is implemented zerging would NOT be “valid” since it would mean less loot and therefore people that zerged (quite usual for guilds to build smaller zergs and run around taking keeps, should we not be allowed to do so without being punished?) would be getting less stuff for the same “work”

Yeah thats the suggestion, that anet makes fixed cost of gems bought with gold and also fixed cost of gold bought by gems. And that they remove player factor by directly trading always with anet and not between players.
So basically removing the whole trading part of it and instead creating gold and make the inflation extreme in the game?

It is not really a flawed design. It is a rather good design, since it adds (rather than remove that you seems to think) tactics to combat.
If they remove rally the fights will simply be: “Down the enemy asap and don’t bother with your own people until the fight is over”.

As far as I know there is NO information at all about Glint’s life before being a champion of Kralk.
Well, it’s obvious they want Kiel to win (WP costs vs. BL key discount? Come on!) but that would make it even funnier if the playerbase would rally behind Evon and make ANet change their plans.
I did get a chuckle out of “loved and cherished” living story though.
And yet based on the datamined information Kiel might lose based on the Fractal that will be released (one of them have Aeatherblade Retreat (Kiel I believe) and the other have Molten Alliance Facility).
I actually think they want to leave it all up to the players and they actually have both outcomes planned.

Would have to be something the size of Eye of the North. The personal story bits will be shorter since we already have the whole ‘learning about the orders and forming the pact’ thing out of the way.

Let people pay for a service that’s been tried and tested in other games and proven to be (mildly) popular. There’s absolutely no reason not to offer this service considering its just swapping data values and would make ANet piles of cash in the long run.

People with regular work don’t play at night when they have to work at late night/morning/midday.
If you do, then that just implents you do everything to do PvD’ing, simple.
That would of course depend on the amount of sleep needed to manage your work.
I usually don’t need more than 3-4 hours sleep per night, which means that when I have work, I can easily spend most of the night playing, while working most of the day.
Should I be punished because I work? Why is your PvD during the day any better than our “PvD” (which meets quite a bit of resistance) during the night?

It’s not a glitch. It’s a known, acknowledged and accepted method of moving skins. It’s even ANet endorsed!

Funnily enough I have seen you PvD more or less constantly during the days (being unemployed I can play during daytime, when most people are working). Yesterday you guys retook most of the map while the vast majority of our server were at work. How is that any different than use taking the map while your server is sleeping (which quite clearly isn’t really the case, since you had a rather big zerg in our borderland in the middle of the night between yesterday and today).
People with regular work DON’T play at mornings/middays, since they are working.
The main issue is that there are no specific Russian servers, and this could be a rather major issue with people using Cyrillic letters on European servers.
I would say it is borderline “legal”, since you are more or less using a glitch to get it to work.
So just because it involves luck (so does all of them for that matter) it is not possible?

Gating crafting materials behind a limited duration attunement window is a disaster waiting to happen. I have completely stopped playing the game due to these poor ‘Living Story’ design choices.
Yeah, all those millions of halloween and winterday things is almost gone, right?
Most people will probably not be interested at all in actually crafting the item, so the supply of the material on the TP will most likely be quite massive.
We also have no idea if the material will be gone forever after this event.
