The only actual ghosts we see (as far as I remember) are victims of the Foefire, and that only effected humans (and simply killed Charr), and no Asura or Norn were near Ascalon City at that time and the Sylvari were not even born.
I am personally hoping for account-based birthday-gifts instead of character based, what they give us don’t really matter ^^
People complained too much about being unable to get the titles?
The main issue is that no matter how clearly they post it people will still complain about missing the end date.
Yes, and you have to go through various pages to find them all.
Deadlines always seem to create confusion for players as currently there is no single one place to find the info.
Every release there is some players that manage to not find the info… but they come to this very forum looking for it.

As far as we know there are nothing that suggests that this will be anything else.
Most (all?) temporary things HAVE been posted with their deadline, on their preview and/or patch notes.
By the logic of this living story, all of the dungeons in the game should be closed now since we have killed off zhaitan and every other major bad guy.
The dungeons are “locked in time” so lore-wise they have long since happened.
The majority of the living story does however take place in the open world, which would make it more or less impossible to use the same kind of logic behind it.
The next patch is adding quartz from the achievements, those who dont do the achievements wont be able to get quartz which screws over anyone who missed it…
Since when is crafting materials non-tradable?
There was no failure in the game. In GW1, we failed in defending Ascalon, Shiro killed us, and we were decimated in the attack on Gendara. Thus when our characters made a comeback, the victory felt so much sweeter.
I heard we failed quite badly at Claw Island.

Well, then I really don’t see what incentive Anet would have to develop such a service. It’s obviously a problem since it doesn’t already exist and making it that punishing and expensive to race change I can’t see anyone in their right mind doing it.

Which side owns camps, which trade-routes are open and stuff like that.
I see what you mean but this is a game not a store. Still wouldn’t hurt anyone getting there. If something is really a big secret they just don’t put it into the game. They have put these in, to tease us and not let us there? Come oooon.
Getting into something that doesn’t exist is quite hard though.
People who have done almost every daily/monthly will have crap tons of AP which means they will get even more awards for doing dailies (more gold, laurels, magic find boost, etc) Im fine with that daily exsist but not that people get AP from it. Before this update was announced I didnt even care about that AP is given from dailies but now it can give people endless of AP which leads to endless magic find boosts and much more. Maybe Arena Net can separate the points from daily/monthly from the others (call them like daily points or something) instead of giving people loads od AP from them. This will ruin the fun of trying to get “hard” achivements since you can juat go do daily for the boost and not even care about other achivements.
What makes you think you can stack multiple boosts in the first place?
It is quite likely that it simply is: “At x APs you get y Magic Find Boost”, not “At x APs you can buy unlimited amounts of y Magic Find Boost”
If there were a NPC for that, why shouldn’t there be for everything else as well?
F&F was a timed event, the event is now over so it is logical you can get the achievements for it.
I already have and sent it to Anet.. multiple people saw it happening and I know the person in question as he transfered to our server for a week specifically to roam with me. I already said it a 100 times, he glitched into Bay that time as well.. It’s simple math really, 1+1 =2..
So.. how many times did you report him when he was on your sever?

Between the ease of victory over Zhaitan from a game mechanics perspective and Kraalkatorrik being mentally disabled by an asura, Anet really isn’t doing a good job building the dragons up as credible threats. Primordius’ lieutenant was infinitely more threatening to me the player.
Ah yes, someone that is starving and have just woken up after centuries of sleep is absolutely at the top of his powers…..
I can understand some level of discouragement to inhibit ‘abuse’, but if it’s too detrimental it’ll become a mostly unused service likely only purchased by people who have soulbound items like legendaries they don’t want to lose.

I logged in today, next to the fire that ‘once’ had an achievement. I was unable to log in for that weekend. Not for an hour, not for thirty seconds.
Every time I log in and see that fire, and the expanded content I could never gain. It reminds me why I will never play this game again. This was going to be my last MMO. ‘The’ MMO for me, but with this exclusivity content. I refuse to play into this kittened kitten of a decision.
I would rather pay 15$ for WoW and gain those 11 year old achievements, than spend another dollar( I’ve spent over 300$ on GW2 Gems, and only played for 3 months!) on Arena Nets poor choices.
You do know that WoW also have exclusive (one time) events as well, right?
And funnily enough back when we had Flame and Frost people complained about the long time between updates.
No matter which way they go there will be people that don’t like it.
Ranking up in WvW takes quite a lot of time, much longer then it does to do a worldboss that drops dead in litteraly 10seconds and you collect your guarenteed rare + chest with more loot.
The time it takes to get 8 chests in PvE (you can get * a lot* more then just 8 btw) you will have earned maybe 1 chest in WvW. Maybe.
And yet you can only get that guaranteed rare once per day, while in WvW you can get more or less unlimited chests if you find a good place to farm WXP.
Indeed, if you are lucky and find a situation where all the bosses spawn just after each other. You can easily get 1-2 ranks per hour in WvW on an active server.
Since you don’t seem to get any actual stat-items I don’t really see how anyone would have an advantage, but yes, someone with 10k points will most likely have unlocked (it doesn’t seem like we will actually spend the points) more than someone that have 2k.
I believe someone did miss the fact that Zhaitan was attacked by the full might of the 5 major races and the three orders, using completely new technology and yet it still took LOADS of time and effort to take him down.
I would love to see screenshots on these “GuM” thieves doing this exploit.
Sorry but if what you says is true Bravo, we will get about 1000 chests in our mailbox. I’ll be sure to accept them, but it seems a bit like a dream scenario no?
What makes you think it will be chests at all?
This just killed a bunch of my excitement for the future of this game.
We’re never going to visit Elona or Cantha now. Any future Dragons will likely be killed off cheaply if we even get to fight them at all.
I’m tired of fighting unrelated side stories that feel like filler. What happened to the other dragons?!

So, you basically want to make it impossible for PvP or WvW-only people to ever unlock the rewards?
There are extremely few ways to get achievement points in WvW, other than daily/monthly, and those that you can get takes ages.
Same with PvP really.
Honestly I think those 2 new masteries are badly designed.
Build and repair speed, as long you have enough ppl this not a trouble at all…
I would like to see them implemented with those already mentioned features plus some extras as this I describe below… would be way more interesting.
And this is where you are misunderstanding the whole point of these masteries.
They are not really built for groups with “enough people” they are built for small havoc squads and such where ever second is important.
Add stuff that MAKE sense. Sure molten alliance is nice because we need cross racial villains and Fire Legion only make sense to appear for revenge. Thats why i used White Mantle as an example because it is one of the oldest. Im saying there are a lot more better stories that could be implemented in game that would make sense like Tengu, White Mantle, Mursaat, The Forgottens, et ol that dates back from GW1 that could be expanded and need more explanation to begin with. They are the fundamentals in Tyria so why leave them behind.
I wouldn’t really say that Molten Alliance “only make sense to appear for revenge”, since I find it rather clear it is all connected to what is currently happening with the Sky Pirates and such as well.
Indeed, WM is one of the oldest, it was also more or less completely destroyed back in War in Kryta and is currently (as far as we know) unable to do anything that would pose any real threat.
The forgotten will most likely not turn up until we go to Crystal Desert (if even then) since that is where they live(d).
So basically add stuff that makes little or no sense just because it was in GW1?
Sky Pirates does make sense in the world, especially since it does seem to tie into the Molten Alliance line as well.
Keep in mind that 250 years have passed, and many of the things happening back then don’t really have much to do with what is happening now.
As for the White Mantle however, it IS quite likely that they will play a larger role in the future, since they are still around.
Though I do hope they remove the AP from people who salvaged or transmuted thousands and thousands of items to get massive points.
They already did when they set the cap for those achievements.

I think you have actually missed the whole setting for GW2 to be honest.
Why do people assume that 2 weeks release cycle will mean all content only available for 2 weeks?
When client send me the bug fixing request i ask him when the bug occured, what was he doing when the bug occuread, overall i gather as much data as possible (also i have stuff in my programm that create the error reports if sth crash or whatever to help me dealing with that) and then i try to recreate this scenario so i can “get” this bug, and then if it occurs i try to fix it. Thats how i work.
And that is why you are not a programmer.
Knowing when a bug occurs don’t really fix the bug.
You still need to find the issue in the code, make sure the fix you apply don’t break anything else and so on.
And just hiring new programmers won’t really solve this either, since they would need to spend MONTHS actually learning the code and how the team works before even starting to change stuff themselves.

They wouldn’t need to hotfix at random points like this if there was a weekly scheduled maintenance.
Also I have no idea what you mean by 3 hours. We got a 1-2 hour warning then got kicked out of the dungeon 30 minutes later. I know it’s a hobby for a lot of people on the forums to passive aggressively tell people they are wrong, but that’s not what I started this thread for. Thanks!
I don’t think you actually know what a hotfix is.
A hotfix is something that fixes a specific issue that can’t/shouldn’t wait until the next scheduled patch.
I am also rather sure people prefer this model to the “lets take the server down for half a day each week”-model.
I did a dungeon yesterday, we got a warning about patch being available within the next 1-2 hours, after sometime we got information that a new build was ready and that the game would restart in 3 hours.
I assume it was the same for all dungeons, but might be wrong.
Actually Sorrow’s Furnace was quite small, another thing to keep in mind is that it has been rebuilt and is no longer the headquarters of the dwarves but rather the Dredge.
So they should wait with hotfixes then?
Hotfixes are stuff that NEEDS to be put into the game asap, they can’t really wait for that scheduled weekly time to apply them.
I also find it quite weird that it would take you more than 3 hours to complete fractals, which is the time you have after a patch is live until you are auto-kicked.
None of those achievements are possible to complete anymore.

As a wvw player we dont get as many achievement points. And the achievements are quite insane after a few tiers.
You still get points for dailies and monthlies though.
Unscouted one, and mostly w/o reinforced gates. and proper siege. Which already means what your enemy making mistakes and/or objectives what you trying to take deemed unimportant.
Flash build can give you few seconds, but nothing more.
And yet those few seconds can be the difference between a capture and a wipe.

Low-priority lines imo.
If you are assaulting and need flash build, it means you under heavy aoe. But if you are under heavy aoe, it means enemy have large def force already and you need sizable force to perform this assault anyway. And if you have sizable force, you can perform flash-build already.
And if you need flash build to build defensive siege – you do something wrong. Siege must be built and refreshed before enemy assault, not when assault in progress.
I would disagree.
A flash build is also quite useful in a situation where you have small havoc squads that rush in and take a tower/keep.

How do you suggest that new player EVER get enough points to unlock stuff?
What about people that only play WvW? The vast majority of their APs comes from dailies/monthlies, since there are rather few achievements that can be earned (in reasonable time) from WvW alone.
Everything else costs gold so I can easily see “unlocked” meaning the vendor will now sell them to you, similar to how PvP Glory Vendors require a certain rank before you can purchase their goods.
Not everything. The HoM stuff is free, and since this system sounds quite a bit like HoM it is possible it will be free as well.
