EU people have questioned the late reset since release. For some reason those threads do not consist of whining though and are usually quite calm and therefore falls into the pit of forgetfulness quite fast.

Please provide these real static that shows that 99% of the matches a premade team will win against a PUG-team.

If it was the same person, I would agree. However, it is different people and they have all realized that something about this game isn’t fun for them – and they have the right to post about that feeling for the the devs to see without the need of being called a troll.

It is not a matter of saying that the game is not fun, it is the matter of HOW he says it.

This has ruined reset night for 3/4 of the US to make it very slightly better for EU??? Come on!

If I was in EU position and reset was at 2am, making it midnight would make no difference to me. Being it is Saturday at 2am, it would make no difference.

And yet it DOES make a rather major difference.
The amount of players playing at midnight is MUCH higher than those playing at 2am.

I leave out the bugs and the broken things not working because as you say, those can only be anticipated via actually doing it, because they have no public test server and didn’t want to spoil the event. But factually, the above sounds like a bad idea from the get go.

Now I’ll grant that they set up that event way in advance and did lots of pre-announcing and pre-warning, unlike this particular set of WvW reset time changes.

As was implied by the announcement, they have probably only been looking into this for a couple days. I doubt they gave this issue much thought at all, and this is probably just a knee-jerk decision caused by the griping of a few players.

ANet has a (rapidly building) history in GW2 of hearing a few players gripe…then making quick, unwise decisions that tick off the majority of the player base.

Ah yes, a knee-jerk decision cause by the griping of a few players AFTER EIGHT MONTHS of said griping. It was clearly something they just woke up and thought about and then decided to go for it without actually checking anything at all.

That would be very much borderland P2W. At least if it were in combat.
Outside of combat it would be completely pointless.

If there’s “no way” to have separate EU and NA reset times…then the application was engineered badly and needs to be fixed. These are separate data-centers an ocean apart from each other. Saying it’s not possible it’s just an excuse for not wanting to put forth the effort to do it.

I have seen quite a few posts that seems to imply that ArenaNet is doing this just to screw NA.
I think they have thought it through quite a bit, and most likely have the numbers that showed that this would be the best temporary solution.

For all we know the time with amount of players on both sides of the pond are these new reset times.
We don’t have the numbers, ArenaNet does, so why assume they have not based their decision on said numbers?

It’s marginal in it’s effect. If you couldn’t stay up until 2am to play, which according to every EU poster here was such a hard chore, you are gaining at most 2 hours of playtime. These same two hours, when you are CHOOSING to play, the NA population is still at work because their choice has been removed.

The massive change here is that ANET has told the NA population to kitten off. Want to hold a job and play WvW at reset, forget it.

But it isn’t.
There is a HUGE difference between the amount of people playing at midnight compared to 2am.

But you are assuming that all commanders have high ranks and that all high rankers are commanders.

It is actually quite likely that most commanders would actually be forced to wait longer with your system, since it is rather likely that they have lower ranks than those that run around capping camps and killing dollies.

Well, seeing as they keep adding new rare stuff to the BLC it is quite likely that they sell very well.
Funnily enough we get threads like these ever single time something new is added to the chests, and people shouting about how everyone will leave the game. And yet they still add new things there, so clearly those threads are quite incorrect.

No, what you said was: People with lower ranks should not be allowed into WvW before those with higher ranks.

The vast majority of WvW players are not commanders, so I don’t really see why we should base a “solution” around those few that are.

Nothing stops 80… or maybe 30 arrow carts.

But seriously siege engines are fine. High quality balistas and arrow carts are deal a kittenton of damage. The problem is just AoE target limit. Zerg packs you see in WvW are only stopable with even numbers, when you throw 100 guys on a keep they just bite doors open under siege fire.

Siege are as far as I know not effected by the AoE limit though.

WP is a gold sink.
Charging karma would remove that gold sink.

People seems to be under the impression that the main way to get Gems is supposed to be via the ingame transfer. This is quite clearly not the case.

In my eyes it would be even better to simply remove the ability to trade ingame gold for gems, since that would at least mean we will get rid of all threads like these that are posted more or less daily.

It is so cute that it is apparently the end of the world that SOME NA players will get the reset in the middle of the work day, but it was apparently not a problem whatsoever that ALL of Europe have had the reset in the middle of the night for the eight months since release.

You are however assuming that players only get points from doing dailies.
Which is quite clearly not the case.
You get points from doing quite a lot of things and you can easily get 100 points in just a few days.

I am actually almost 100% sure that ArenaNet is fully aware about which areas have the most people playing. And it is indeed extremely unlikely that the west cost of the US have more players than the WHOLE of Europe put together, especially since Europe is, or at least was back in GW1s time, the biggest player base for ArenaNet.

I don’t see how two hours earlier is going to make a huge difference for EU and it is going count out a very significant portion of the NA population.

But it does.
It means that instead of reset being past midnight, it is now one hour before midnight.
Sure some people might be asleep by that time as well, but far fewer than at the current reset.

People that actually care about stuff will visit the forums, or at least pay attention to what is said ingame (it is talked about quite a bit both in WvW and LA on my server). Those that would have missed this information are those that don’t really care about the reset anyway. Those that do, make sure they stay up to date with the changes.

Sure, if you want to do this change for the EU servers- that’s fine.

But to impose this time on NA servers is ridiculous.

Well, since the servers are reset at the same time it is quite hard to do it on the EU server but not on the NA servers..

Why?
It is not like it is the end of the world if some people might miss the reset by a hour or two.

So what if they delay it one week and people happen to be away for that one week? They will still miss the information.
There will always be people missing information, and they will always find out sooner or later.
It is not like a match will be totally screwed simply because not every single one knew about earlier reset time.

And I don’t know with your server but on my server we actually talk about new information. Just a few minutes after this thread was posted it was talked about in the WvW maps of our server, so even people that do not check the forums does get the information.
