Quite a few of the personal story missions reward items that are specific to that very mission.
Unless you do the exact same thing (which would be impossible with different race) you will not get the same missions and therefore not the same rewards.

If you use a race change, it erases your personal story, so you start over from the beginning. During the race change, you select your new storyline (just like making a new character). You keep your level, your trait points, and your skill points. You have to unlock your utilities and elites, along with your weapon skills.

I guess the only issue I could see is cultural armor. You could require the hero to not be wearing any armor during the race change.

So, how would that work with all the special Personal Story rewards?
You can only get certain rewards from certain branches and it would be more or less impossible to track down and delete all these items when resetting the personal story.

Most likely because it would require quite a bit of work, that would most likely be taken from other, more needed/useful areas.

The mechanics you are talking about did NOT exist at launch. You have NEVER been able to join a dungeon run on a EU server while playing on a NA server, while it has always been possible to join a group from another NA server at all times.

This is simply because you CAN’T have your data on both the NA and EU data-centers at the same time.
When you TRANSFER you delete the data from your original data-center (if you move across regions) and inserts them on the other one. When you are GUESTING you do not delete any data.

But the thing is that the cross region guesting is not there just to annoy us.
It is there because of technical reasons. They most likely need to completely rebuild their server structure in order to get it to work.

We have known since release that there would be paid transfer.
The biggest issue was the fact that Guesting took so long to implement.
Had it been around at release with paid transfer as early as that this would most likely not be seen as an issue.

The bought skins are account-bound the dropped skins are not.

Exactly. You could TRANSFER.
You could however NOT do dungeons and whatever across the two datacenters.
What we could do at release was freely transfer our accounts. Transfer != Guesting.
With transfer you move your whole account to another data-center (if transferring from EU to NA) but when guesting you are simply sending the character information.

Please feel free to inform us if there are any activities as these on my server (Underworld) so that I might take a group of people and destroy it.
There are already problems with queues in WvW, so why do you feel the need to stop real WvW:ers from doing WvW by doing something completely useless for the server?

Well, keep in mind that there are quite a few people that does play RPG games for the story, not rewards. And F&F does reward us with quite a bit of story.

You can however get a rather good feel about the game by checking those millions of youtube-videos and such out there.

As for what is bad with it: The massive amount of trolls that will make accounts simply to troll. If it is free they lose nothing by trolling and getting banned.

It is quite sad if there are actually people that clearly spend every single moment in-game looking at the friends-list just on order to catch that 5 second window between the logging in and the changing to Invisible. Unless they actually do this, it would be more or less impossible for them to find know that you are logged in after all.

You can actually set your status to Invisible without logging in to a character.
You can access your contact list from the character selection screen and from there you can change your status.

I completely agree with Weindrasi. Rox just deviates WAY too much from the set standard. The “well she’s a younger charr” justification also completely fails given that we can see charr cubs (who are all incredibly cute in a charr sort of way) in-game, and none of them have this weird eye inflation affliction.

Dragons: How do you know that the very things happening in Flame and Frost is not because of the dragons? It is after all quite possible that the dragons might be involved, even if we do not know it yet.

It is already quite possible to see someones Achivement points ingame, so I don’t really see why this specific case with be an issue.

And I can say, if this happens, all my toons are getting deleted. I hated that crap about WoW. If I liked it, I’d be playing WoW.

You can see accounts at the moment, and you can’t search for specific accounts. Achivement points doesn’t even tell people anything about how good someone is. So groups that decides who to take with them based on that is a group I would stay away from anyway.

Ah good, they have stopped giving refunds to people that have played the game for several months.

I believe it is confirmed that it will get removed at the end of April but will come back with more levels in the future.

The keyword here is large guilds.
The thing was abused by people starting personal guilds in order to get fast and easy storage.

Have you never used a guild vault? A guild vault has a limited (don’t know the exact amount without looking it up) space, the same as your personal bank. You pay by accruing guild reputation either by doing things in game, items, or paying gold. Anyone who is in a guild or made a guild has access to one, in the case of being in another persons guild you must have the permissions to access the guild vault. What this change does, is gate the guild vault dolyak thingy so only large guilds can access it. So, I guess now you know and hopefully have an educated discussion on the matter.

So, it was impossible for people to start 5 guilds (which is free) and then spend some gold to get them all up for the storage and the dolly?
With that tactic it was very possible to get massive amount of storage without having to pay a single $ to unlock more storage, which is most likely the reason for the change.

It was however a unintended use of the upgrade, so they changed it.
Had people not abused it they most likely wouldn’t have done anything about it, but since people are experts on abusing things stuff like this happens.

You don’t see a single Dredge wearing that gas mask helm. Whereas Inquest does.

Lore-wise, the Inquest are the ones providing Dredge with technology. It seems highly doubtful the Inquest would adopt things from the Dredge. The Inquest were the first ones brandishing that style armor. Then the Flame Legion came with a strikingly similar style.

The armor style originates from the Inquest, not the Dredge. Look at the screenshot.

The STYLE is still Dredge though. Even if asura is wearing them.
Wearing the Nightmare armor from Twilight Arbor on my charr does not make the Twilight Arbor set charr in origin. It is still sylvari.

The exact same case can be seen in this situation. The whole style is Dredge, even if it is used by other races. The whole steampunky style is Dredge, whilst the asura is more futuristic.

They achieved free storage from anywhere without paying anything for it (which the rest of us did by unlocking bag-slots or used the store bank-access item).

Dredge themed != Dredge worn.

They are still themed after the dredge, not the asura.
If it were we would see asura with those gas masks outside SE, but we don’t.
We do however see plenty of Dredge around the world with that general theme.

It is still Dredge themed though.
There are no Asura anywhere else wearing those, so clearly it is more of a dredge thing than a Asura thing.

I did not say it was meaningless. I said it don’t effect the game though. And it doesn’t. The only thing it does is helping those kind of people that like stroking their e-kittenes stroking them. Most of us will most likely not even care about the leaderboard, but some probably will, and I am happy for them.
If they feel the need to be on the top in a game then good for them. I never understood that myself though.

Maybe a good way to get past this would be to not shout about being a female? Sure it is not the perfect solution but it would help quite a bit.
Another thing would be to get another guild, since it does seems like the guild is part of the problem (unless you VOIP with pugs and such, which I think is quite uncommon). We have at least two women in our guild (that we have heard on voice-chat) and they are not treated any different from the rest of us.

ArenaNet can’t really do much about stuff like this though, since it is a problem with the players not the game itself.

So, how does having a high score on the leaderboard make you better/cooler/whatever?
I might have agreed if this score actually gave you an advantage in-game, that is however not the case, and the only thing it actually does is stroking the e-kitten of people.

Let them have that I say. It won’t effect you or anyone else.

No you don’t.
I have a character that I leveled from lvl 2 to lvl 80 in WvW.
I have never done anything other than WvW with him, so he clearly don’t have access to Ascended Gear.
Even so it is very possible for me to stay on par with others in WvW.
Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that you can get access to all but one kind of Ascended gear released without ever doing a single Fractal run.

I wish you couldn’t kill these elder dragons. It’s such a cheesy hollywood-esque solution. It kills all tension of “There are dangerous forces looming out there, that can actually kill me”.

Would be cool if these dragons landed occasionally, wrecking actual havoc instead of just flying around being noisy.

Problem is if these dragons “landed occasionally” they would destroy everything around them.
Kralkatorrik created the Dragonbrand by simply flying over it. That is a rather massive area and more or less everything in that area was corrupted by it simply flying past. Having it land would most likely destroy every single thing in the area.
Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that they are massive.
As in larger than most towns in the game.
