Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
None of the ‘official versions’ of English would pronounce this word any differently than “gho-lem” based on their own rulesets. Why do people not get that inflection /= pronunciation?
So an Indian guy would pronounce it the exact same way as an American guy? Or a British (the “real” English) guy?
That’s just it, it’s not just my version of English, it’s the official version of English which most everyone uses.
There are HUGE amount of “official versions of English” however, which version is correct?
And why would YOUR version of English be more right than other version of English?
Send one of your characters to Queensdale. Let him or her spend a few hours there. Oakheart, troll, boar, bandits, centaurs, Shadow Behemoth. How many times do these events repeat? Is there ever an end to them, a point at which the resolution, win or lose, for good or ill, actually persists? None of that is instanced. That’s our ‘living world’.
There is no excuse for making new content limited time only.
All those does however make sense.
There are more Oakhearts, trolls, boars, bandits and centaurs than one.
The Shadow Behemoth on the other hand is never actually killed, only driven back to the Underworld.
No, it is a balance fix.
Which other class can heal and use utilities while being completely immortal?
So, because people jump on the bandwagon and buy gear for the Flavor of the Month build ArenaNet should not balance the game?
A rather high number of people most likely think before jumping on the whole “OMG THAT BUILD IS THE BEST I MUST USE IT!!!” thingy, and therefore don’t spend a huge amount of money on a overpowered build, since it is quite logical to assume that said build will be changed sooner or later.
Indeed, love mine aswell, even bought two and that was before I know about the awesome effects ^^
You get one, and no it is not a rip-off.
So basically make it completely impossible to take a defended tower/keep/castle?
We can go back and replay the story of Destiny’s Edge via the dungeons or the explorable mode stories any time we feel like it. Granted there isn’t much motivation to do story mode dungeons more than once, but the precedent is there.
There is also a precedent in GW1 where you could replay missions or play through earlier mission content with a character who didn’t come from that continent. Which was useful, say, if that character was now your main and you wanted it to have all the achievements.
I see no harm in keeping the dungeon with some kind of framing that you’re replaying events that happened in the past.
The main issue with all those examples are that they are instanced, so they can be “locked in time” so to speak.
Having only the Molten Weapon Facility dungeon would make little sense, since those that was not here during the Flame and Frost line would have no idea about who the characters were, why they attack a random factory and why the dredge and FL works together.
Why did “they” transfer you in the first place?
As far as I know they don’t move people, since everyone have the ability to do so themself.
I would love for these to be tradeable (in a better way than having to drop them on the ground), but I’m concerned that if we can sell them on the TP, servers that have earned and shared a lot of blueprints will suffer. Richer servers will buy up most of the blueprints and there will be no more incentive to help your fellow players through the jump puzzles to earn blueprints for your server because most of them will just sell them.
The bolded part is a good thing though.
People wasting time in the JP is quite often not helping the server.
Seriously stop removing content all the time, it’s driving me crazy and making me not want to play anymore. I want to play at my own pace. Hell even now, I’ve played since release and I haven’t even finished personal story or done all the dungeons yet.
STOP FORCING ME TO DO STUFF AT YOUR PACE
So, how living would the world be if you could do anything at anytime?
The whole point with the living world is that things change.
If you miss a festival or a war in the real world it is not like you can go back and replay said war whenever you want.
This is not correct, strictly speaking. Rules for a particular language have concrete definitions, even if there’s a lot of regional variation in practice and the rules tend to change over time.
Consequently, there is an official pronunciation for this word, and that pronunciation is “Goh-lem”.
So an australian guy must pronounce things exactly the same was as a canadian or he is pronouncing it wrong?
Who is to decide which version is the correct version then?
I don’t need to assume, they in fact do speak with an American accent.
It was an example and no, not everyone in the game speaks with an american accent.
My point being that just because YOU pronounce something in one way does not make the other ways wrong.
So, why would your way of saying be more correct?
Why assume that everyone in Tyria would speak with lets say an american accent?
good thing people who dont check the forums can see that you guys yet again changed the reset times for WvW. im sure it wouldnt have been helpful for people to know just by looking at he log in screen or the news section on the gw2 website or twitter.
a lot of people sitting around watching the matches not resetting. for a good 30 mins. gg.nr.
working as intended?
Any server with worthwhile WvW playing will have people checking these forums daily, said people will then talk about it in game, so even those that do not visit the forums will find out.
I usually put them in the Mystic Forge and hope for rare (yellow) items.
Like I already stated (please read) I use strong passwords. I also don’t visit or download from “weird” pages. My computer is clean.
And yet you keep getting unauthorized connections even after changing password, so clearly something is wrong.
And IF it were an issue with ArenaNets security it would be a much bigger issue than just a few “hacks” here and there.
My computer is fine. I have malwarebytes and regularly update and scan it. The fact that this sort of thing has been going since the game launched and that I’ve played on three different computers over the course of playing GW2 tells me that it isn’t my computer.
If that is the case you most likely have a weak password, the same password everywhere or simply download weird stuff or visit weird pages.
IF they had breached ArenaNets servers there would be massive amounts of “hacks” which is clearly not the case.
Scan your computer.
Lets not assume stuff before the patch shall we?
There is a reason he don’t say it out loud.
The issue seems to be that you need to learn your class better and not assume that you can own everything because you are higher level.
How did you manage to kill stuff in the earlier zones before getting to lvl 23?
Why wouldn’t the same work now?
Nope, I don’t want someone at lvl 80 simply running in and killing everything in a lvl 5 zone without thinking.
You are still stronger, but you won’t be able to take on 1000 mobs at once.
The thing most likely is that they have a policy to always roll back the account to the point before the first unauthorized access, just in order to sto kitten ues where users gain stuff because of the hacker.
Ok but anet must do something because actually half of server have legendary. And loosing their intentions.
Half a server?
That is extremely unlikely.
I have personally seen about 10 different people with legendaries on my server and I play several hours daily, having “half a server” with legendaries sounds quite unlikely.
Maybe they are bored of the game because they farmed it to death in order to get their Legendary faster than ArenaNet planned?
Why shouldn’t it be solo-able? I say make it so that those who prefer running solo and those who prefer running with a group (of 2, 3, 5, 8 players and maybe more!) can both enjoy the content. That would be some innovative stuff.
So basically remove any need whatsoever to ever talk or interact with any other player in the whole game?
So, what you basically want is a game that is not Guild Wars 2?
All those that shout about being forced to dungeon:
Should I require that Arah Explorable Mode gets soloable aswell? I do want the lore in there after all, but I can’t find a group that is interested in doing it for the lore so I won’t be able to see it ingame.
And why would Asura and Charr fight in the first place?
The whole game is based around the need of the races working together to face a bigger threat.
Nope.
All of it takes place in starter zones (more or less) and those that are max-level (the story instances, and possible the coming dungeon) upscales you.
FPS does not = lag let alone skill-lag.
really wish people could comprehend that, its only said 10 times a day on the forums. The WvW lag is Server side and not client side, Please try know what your talking about before giving people dreadful uneducated advice.
And this server side lag would effect EVERYONE, but when it happens with 10 people for him but not happen for 25 people for me it is quite clearly NOT server lag.
I would actually say that Kralkatorik is more mind controlling than Jormag.
Jormag gets his minions with promise of power, not mind control.
The Claw is an ungue with two blades jutting forward and two blades backwards based on the information we got in Ghosts of Ascalon.
True— but when in the context of MMOs, that’s what is generally assumed. I mean, lots of words and actions existed before the creation of MMOs, but that doesn’t mean much.
Based on the actual context of the word in this case it was quite clear, in my eyes, that it was used as its original definition though.
You do know that the word raid existed long before MMOs right? And that it have nothing at all to do with the size of the group doing it.
Problem on WvWvW is not low FPS but “SPELL LAG” in this situation is imposible beat greater number of enemies beacose works only auto attacks -> larger zerg wins
Of course, but if it starts with 10 people then it is quite clearly an issue with his computer, since it is very possible to play without lag with 25+ players in the battles.
I am rather sure they said they will NOT retroactively reward laurels.
You need to get Moto’s Breath from a scroll at the end of the jumping puzzle in zone 3.
GW2 has no need of teamwork because every profession (and thus, every player) is capable of supplying its own DPS, healing, and CC and is therefore its own team. Content requiring multiple players is contradictory to the very core of the game’s innovative design. Certainly, multiple players should be allowed to play through any and all content together – this is an MMO, after all – but grouping should be an option, not a requirement.
I suppose you never actually did AC Ghost Eater path after the update then? Good luck doing that one without teamwork.
And how would scaling work if the mechanics of the boss fight is based on teamwork? (Much like the new Ghost Eater)
So.. why not do it with friends? That would solve the issue.
People keep bringing up PUGs but one would think that they would at least have made some friends during their time in GW2?
Or if you don’t have friends go with a PUG that makes it clear that they won’t skip cutscenes. Based on the amount of people here complaining about being unable to do it for the story it is quite likely that it will be rather easy to find groups doing it for the story.
Warriors can use Longbows quite good, give it a try.
Nope. Easy mode does not give chests.
Megadestroyer was not updated with the patch and therefore don’t have the daily chest.
You can improve your chances by taking certain safetly measures, but just because it hasn’t happened to you specifically doesn’t mean that you’re safe from it or that it was a bigger achievement on your part. Maybe you were also just lucky, most people are.
I am not saying it can’t (or won’t) happen to me, I am simply stating that it is quite clearly the users fault should the be “hacked”.
Had it been a real hack LOADS of people would have been effected, since that would have meant they had gotten access to the Guild Wars 2 servers. Since that is quite clearly not the case, the problem lies with the users, not the games security.
I’m tired of all this temporary content. We haven’t had a real content update in PvE since FotM. This temporary fluff is just getting annoying.
Also a monthly fee to access part of the games content? no thanks…that’s why I left all the other MMO’s.
Spectator mode might be fun, though that was a feature that was supposed to be in at launch.
Hmm? I have yet to see any plans on removing the Guild Missions.
No, there is a “monthly fee” to OWN part of the games “content”. Anyone can PLAY the content for free, but in order to OWN it you need to pay.
I have played online games for over 15 years. I have yet to have a single one of my accounts “hacked” so clearly it is very possible to avoid being “hacked”.
The thing is, all these “hackings” are not hackings at all. They are either using a weak password, using the same password everywhere, having a keylogger, sharing account details or simply getting tricked into pressing a harmful link in an email (which is btw warned about on this very forum)
