and to the reply, they were supposed to have separate pvp pve skill behaviors at launch, one out of a long list of things they failed to deliver from their own promises.
Actually I am rather sure that they stated that they DIDN’T want to split it at launch and wanted to keep it the same as long as possible. Might be mistaken so feel free to link the “promise” about split-skills.

Aye, just logged in and checked. I see nothing but the guild name on my guild tab so looks like there are some guild specific issues out there.
You might have missed it, but they are starting to split skills between PvE-WvW-PvP with todays update.
They can remove the armor repair cost IF they also remove the ability to get money in WvW. Otherwise it would unbalance the economy quite a bit.
As for people saying Sieges is a big gold-sink: You can buy sieges with badges, and people that play WvW regularly have way too many badges lying around that they can use for siege, so no money involved.
Have you guested/changed server?
I always just wondered why they didn’t add it into the boss’ loot. Same DR, same amount, etc. Just make it to where you loot the boss and you have the tokens, the end.
The main issue is that chest DR is not the same as Dungeon Reward DR.
Are you representing the guild with the guild bank?
Would you please provide a link to a definitely no on mounts from arena net? Anyway, even if they did say no, things can always change.
Do you really think that making 2000 new threads about the very same subject will make it more likely to change?
When they lock a thread they do it for a reason, accept it and don’t start a new thread a few minutes after the first was locked.

You can always do it in WvW, that is semi-PvP at least and it is quite fun!
You do not gain experience in PvP. What you do in the PvP part of the game does not in any way or form effect your character in PvE/WvW.

There is a reason the threads are getting locked/removed, and I am quite sure that recreating them several hundred times will not make them stay longer and will possibly lead to you getting banned for spamming.

It is however quite impossible to build encounters that requires exact reaction times in an online-game since you need to take lag and such into account, making said “challenge” completely impossible for people that live far away from the servers and might suffer from lag.
No, i get that, that is why you see almost no content for it anywhere. Foolish on their part.

If blizzard and EA allows this arena net sure as hell better or they will not be able to compete with the other MMOs out there. They are the ONLY mmo that doesn’t allow this and this. Hell even SOE games are allowed to do this.
Its not worth the content producers time, its that simple. When PS2 has more youtube channels then GW2 there is a problem.
You do know that neither Blizzard nor EA allows people without permission to earn money by streaming their games, right? Exactly the same way ArenaNet does.
Sadly I agree with OP. We got a mission for both new characters and now we suddenly have a last mission. It feels like ANet stretched a normal content update into 4 long months. I feel like I got MUCH more to do during Halloween or Wintersday updates than here.
Imo calling those updates after living story is a bad idea b/c LS is just a small part of the real dish which are the new features like guild missions, spvp etc.What SAb showed us a smaller team than LS team managed to make a bigger impact on the game than 3 months of the F&F updates. i think this shows how slow or lazy the living story team is.
What makes you think that the dungeon will be the only living story addition with the update?
Oficially it all is supposed to last 30 minutes unless someone touches it.
However:
30 minutes is correct for trebs and golems.
Arrow carts and catapults seem to last about 2 hours at least.
Flame rams last for days.A good rule of thumb is: the more useless/useful the siege , the longer/shorter it lasts.
Both arrow-carts and rams are removed after about 30 minutes of inactivity.
I’ll put this simply.
1. This game has no stat progression.
2. This game is all about armor skins.
Conclusion: There needs to be more armor skins then there currently is.
The OP not only helps with this, but it also kills 2 birds with 1 stone.If you don’t think it’s worth a devs time, that’s your opinion, but I’m sure many people would agree that there needs to be more armor skins in this game.

The thing is there ARE quite a few different armor skins, but for some reason people seems to disregard them and all go for the same ones. That is an issue with the players, not the game itself.
I do not say that we should not get more skins, but it is definitely not something that needs highest priority at the moment. New skins should come with new content, not just out of the blue.

Currently no one is out in the world. Currently everyone looks the same.
Not only would this create some variety with armor, it would also give people a reason to visit old zones again. I can’t see why this wouldn’t be worth the devs time.
I see loads of people out in the world, and very few of them looks the same.
I have yet to see a single character look the same as any of mine for one.
There are quite a few people in the old zones, especially those with the big meta events and currently also those that are effected by Flame & Frost.
Mainly because it has quite little to do with the devs and more to do with the art-team. The main issue is that the art-team is needed for more or less ever single addition made to the game (or well, not features, but anything that does have a look) while different devs can work on different things and features.
30 minutes is the correct times yes.
But it will be reset as soon as someone interacts with it, so still seeing it hours later is most likely because people tend to interact with them when they pass them in order to stop them from despawning.

Considering this game prides itself on having no forced stat progression, and being primarily about aesthetic rewards, I think most will agree that there is a severe lack of skins to chose from.
Because it would take a massive amount of time and resources to create those 301 skins?
I’m in 2 guilds from the beginning now total numbers is 70-80 and I never saw more than 4-5 online. Ofcourse 90% maybe not true, but game already on the miminum capacity. And if you don’t wanna play alone on the WvWVW – better do nothing.
So you have two guilds that have “died” and therefore the game is “on the minimum capacity”?
There are quite often queue for WvW on my sever, and there are always loads of people doing the big world events and running around in the world. So clearly it is not dying based on my observations.
The fact that I more or less daily meet people that ask basic things would also imply that it keep coming more new players all the time as well while I still see names of people that have been there since release.
Another issue with that is the skill Arcane Thievery that we mesmer can use.
This, in combo with Signet of Inspiration will make it possible for us to steal and share the buffs the boss uses, which no other class can.

Well right now the efforts of a small number of people are worth more than mine just because they don’t play at most peoples peak time (thus PRIME time)

As far as I know the “night-shift” is way shorter than the “day-shift” so I would say the efforts made during the day-shift is way worth more.
Another thing to keep in mind is that prime-time for you might not be prime-time for me and so on.
It is completely impossible to make a system that stops night-capping, since night-capping for some people is “the middle of the day capping” for others.
From my guilds, they’re already dead.

Quite funny, my guild on the other hand is alive and growing daily. So that might be an issue with your guild, not the game itself.

You can advertise it all you want. You can’t however make money from it.
I might suggest that if you wish to speak in the main channels (map or local), you do so in English. If you wish to speak in your native language, especially if using Asian characters), it could be seen by other players as potentially hacked accounts with the hackers communicating with each other to prevent the rest of the players from understanding. There is the possiblity that you or your friends could be reported as potentially hacked. In private channels, such as guild, part or whisper, you should be able to use whatever you like as nobody outside those groups could see what is being said.
Not everyone assumes that all Chinese players are hackers.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t have an 80 of every class, because inevitably there will be stupid PvP changes that make one of my PvE characters less fun for no reason. This time it’s elementalist. So I’m not really excited.

It’s amazing that thiefs get BUFFED. Just before the last patch, they announced that thiefs will get their DPS down to more normal levels.
But they chickend out and didn’t do the change, they just changed the timer from 3 to 4 and called that a nerf (lol).
Now, it’s back at 3 and thiefs are just as OP as before.
I really, really wondered what happened inbetween.
Did all the WvW DEVs got a 80 thief on their accounts with zerker gear or so? It’s amazing how they can keep one class so OP. Highest DPS and stealth at will.
What’s next, give them clones or so? Oh, wait…
Might be a good idea to wait for the actual patch notes, aye? Since clearly there are more changes coming than those mentioned in the SotG.

Well I like to play the meta builds and I don’t think there’s a problem with that. I think that this game should be more accommodating to people like me. I don’t really care if you agree or disagree, I’m more concerned with what the developers think.
So the devs should never try to balance the game?
It is after all very likely that the flavor of the month build is the overpowered build, so of course it will get nerfed.
If people are stupid enough to spend loads of time/money/whatever to get gear that only works for that very specific build that is their problem, not ArenaNets.
No they just have to move 2 steps whilst their stealth heals them and removes conditions – but thats kind of hard for teif players to do. Cos thats why they got the 3s reinstated, as most thief players find it hard to count to 4 before mashing their many stealth options.
True, if they face someone that is stupid and just attacks the spot where the thief turned invisible.
Most players are smart enough to not do that though.
Seriously is someone blowing the thief dev on a regular basis? So they get to spend 50% of the time invisible and immune to all damage whilst pumping out insane dps? Really? Really? 4s revealed reverted to 3s? Should be 10s min.
You do know that it is fully possible to hurt and even kill a thief that is in stealth, right?
They don’t become immortal just because you can’t see them.
Indeed, this is really only an issue if you decide to follow the flavor of the month. If you just play the way you want instead of which way is the “best” (and in most cases they are actually not the same) you would not really get effected by this.
I have all ascended pieces except the back-item on my Mesmer at the moment, and yet I do not scream and complain about them changing stuff in the meta, since I don’t build around the meta but rather build around what I like.
I really hope these arent just fluff additions like a trait line for Arrowcarts but some real changes that will affect the dynamic of WvW.
You really think something as big as changes that will “affect the dynamic of WvW” will be put into a patch without a single blog-post about it?

That is only because ANet made it that way.
Yes, they got DEVs split up in different groups. But they could have added those 5 DEVs to the WvW group. Then we would have a REAL WvW release instead of just a WXP add-on. An add-on that was poorly thought through, as nicely pointed out in my guide.
Bottom line: they could have used the SAB DEVs much better in another group. No one was waiting on a minecraft-mini-game.

Not every single dev in the world have the same knowledge after all.
Can Anet stop wasting time with updates like the Super Adventure thing, that lasts only a month and do something productive with your programmers and modelers, like a new map or variations on the different borderlands. SAB only lasts a month and how much time did you put into it. I may as well have just played minecraft.
The big wvw update was just a few new stats for playing.

It has been stated several times that the development of SAB didn’t take ANYTHING from the other parts of the game.
Besides the SAB is coming back in the future and based on the reactions here on the forum it was a rather good addition since loads of people seems to love it.
The people working on SAB were not the people working on WvW, nor the people working on the living story, dungeons, features or whatever.
That’s getting off-topic but there are specific npcs you kill over and over, and the whole flame legion + dredge alliance can happen again in a few months anyway. So it makes just as much or as little sense as the rest of the world. Matter of fact I would make that one of the explorable modes, go in and prevent them from re-uniting and take back their arms factory.
I have actually yet to see a single unique character get KILLED and then come back when the event starts again though.
The real unique characters are actually only driven away. And the others are simply not the same (Shatterer, Claw, Shaman and so on)

I suppose you missed the kittenstorm about the periscopes being place “in the way” of other things then.
Had they simply added them randomly without thinking that would probably have been a MUCH bigger “issue”.
Just because the events them self are easy to do (which, btw, you don’t actually have a clue about) doesn’t mean they are easy to implement correctly.
It is made quite clear by Arah Explorable mode that the Risen will not just go away because Zhaitan is gone. There are still Risen in there and it does take place after the defeat of Zhaitan.
Ah yes, they “shut them down” just because it is funny to work on Saturdays.
As for the suggestion in question it have merit but the same information is already spread via their twitter and facebook page and it would be quite pointless unless they had it on completely different servers than the one the game/forum is on, since with this latest downtime the forums were inaccessible as well.
