No, a lottery does not guarantee that you win something. That is the whole point of a lottery.
You pay money in order to MAYBE win something.
The RNG in GW2 you pay in order to be guaranteed to get something.
Sure, it might not be something you want, but you are still getting something.
if im not mistaken gold dosent drop except from a few rare things so MF all the way ^.^
Actually I believe most mobs drop money ^^
Mystic Forge and Black Lion Chests ALWAYS gives something, while a lottery don’t.
this way is kinda expensive tho
Probably the cheapest/less time consuming available at the moment though.
I don’t think it’s intended. Infusion slots are not meant for non-ascended items.
Actually I am rather sure they repeatedly said that they WILL add Infusion slots to other tiers of items as well, back when Infusions were released.
Well, I am all for ArenaNet making money, and since ArenaNet are the only ones with actually money it would seem like the RNG-skins in the store are making them the most money (they have, after all, tried different things, but keep coming back to this version), no matter how a few forumers feel about it.
ArenaNet are business, they need to make money. Don’t like it? Don’t give them money, just be happy that someone does, or we would be staring at a game closing down quite fast.
Except that there is no lasting impression on the world from these/this story, so how the hell is that living? There should have been some kind of permanent mark on the world by this, and the dungeon could easily have been that mark.
We have two new areas and several new (permanent) buildings in Southsun that seems to be quite permanent, and these were all added due to the Flame and Frost story.
I can see the point of this, but at the same time the dungeons are supposed to be Guild Wars 2 version of hardcore content, which is quite clearly not the case since most of them are very easy to PUG.
The dungeons are not supposed to be face-rolled, they are supposed to require organized groups that know what they are doing (which is not really the case for most dungeons at the moment)
The item itself states that it can mine all metals.
You are simply unlucky, I get gems and stuff most of the time when using it.
Doing a charge-back will most likely get your account banned btw, so I would suggest against that.
People seems to have ignored the fact that there are quite a few NPCs to talk to about Flame and Frost (in Hoelbrek, LA, Black Citadel, Cragstead and Hatchery) that is indeed quite nice.
Another thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t the end of the story, only the end of a chapter. Said story continues on Southsun in a few days, and after that it probably takes us elsewhere.
Quite silly to have a massive celebration or whatever when the story is far from over after all.
People simply accept the fact that others (like me) might want to have different abilities on different characters, which would be quite hard until you had unlocked EVERYTHING with the account bound ranks.
I can’t really understand the whole “Solo-friendly = NO DUNGEONS!!!!” thinking to be honest.
I am not much of a dungeon player myself, I usually only do them when the guild need a player or something like that. And yet I have done the new dungeon quite a few times, most of them with only PUGs and it have worked out great. I have a feeling that people that complain about it most likely are complaining on principle without actually even trying the content in question.
A bit like how people complain about WoW without ever playing WoW.
If the only difference is the amount of time the content will be around then it’s not really all that different at all.
The reason for up-levelling everyone during the Lost Shores was to ensure everyone, not just level 80s, could take part in that time limited content. It’s how they work, they up-level people, they did it in the Molten Facility dungeon, in Halloween, in Wintersday and in WvW.
It’s established practice at this stage, I would be amazed if they don’t do it here.
And yet that would make one of the few (there are currently only 2) pure level 80 areas a level 2-80 area, and for all we know the living story arc will stay for MONTHS which would completely remove Southsun from the “end-game”.
One of the main issues would be that there is a guaranteed spot for Orichalcum which could quite easily be abused if every single player could take all their alts and park it at that spot.
There will most likely also be permanent additions to the area, so when will it go back to be a real “end-game” area?
It is quite long.
I do not think you can do it fully in just 10 hours, but the time depend on quite a few factors, such as which branches chosen and such.
There will be one point when you need to team up, and that is the very last mission, which require you to finish a Story Mode in a Dungeon.
I don’t think we will see another one (at least for the Living Story) until June.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-living-world-in-guild-wars-2-beyond-flame-and-frost/
He talks about going from may into June with a new story, telling us June is the next story update.Colins may mean the first patch in a series, like the last series was 4 months long.
I think 4 months is a bit too long to keep the same story going.
No, he specifically said the first patch in MAY.
For the more immediate details, we’ll be releasing more info about our first May update here shortly
You did get a warning.
It popped up when you started the game the first time.
It tells you that they will update the game soon and you will need to restart your client sometime within that time (a notice about new build available will come up).
This message is there to help people not starting a long siege in WvW that might be interrupted in the middle of it and such.
They do not have one at the moment, but they have had two weekends where people could try it.
Will probably come another weekend some time in the future.
Already leaked, not coming out this month though, that announcement was an error. However Colin did confirm it is almost dont, just not ready to release.
Not entirely correct.
All we know is that it is not coming with this update.
We do however know that there will be at least one more update this month, so it is fully possible that we will get rid of culling in PvE this month as well.
It up-levelled everyone during “The Lost Shores” event so I would guess they would do it for this one too. No doubt they will remove the up-levelling again after the event ends.
Quite different though.
This seems to be part of the Living Story, so will most likely stay for quite some time, while the Lost Shores event only lasted a few days.
So according to the may 14th update, pve culling will be fixed, or should be. I know A-net had also said a couple months ago that theyd lay off the one-time before they could fix the problem. I don’t know if culling was the only problem needing to be fixed with one time events, maybe server capacity issues as well but hopefully so. I don’t know about you but I liked the Lost Shores one time event, especially its rewards >:D!!!
the removal of PvE culling will NOT be in the update, it is currently in testing but will not make it for that date.
Nice, early patch, though I wonder if we’ll see another at the end of the month (if we don’t that’s fine)
We most likely will, especially after Colins comment yesterday about information about the FIRST patch will be available soon (and now it is^^)
These traps sure sounds interesting.
Well if you’re in the team where 3 out of 5 people are bad PvP players and the other group consists only of good PvP players it doesn’t matter how well you are..
Probably.
But that can be easily solved by actually getting an organized group. Which is the point of Tournaments in the first place.
wow im already trying to win tournament for 2 and half hours and just cant. ANET PLS CHANGE THIS FROM DAILY TOURNAMENT MATCHES WON TO DAILY TOURNAMENT MATCHES PLAYED SO THAT WE ACTUALLY DONT SPEND 5 HOURS ON 1 DAILY ACHIEVEMENT THX.
Maybe you should simply become better at PvP?
Since that actually seems to be the issue.
So, which other games have Dragons (if that is even their real form) that are more like forces of nature rather than just a big bad guy?
It is also quite funny how you say that GW1 was soo much better and less cliche, when it is just as much cliche if not more. You also seems to miss the fact that all stories (exact Eye of the North, which is more tied to GW2) are tied to Abbadon.
So all in all the whole story is simply about a big bad god wanting to kill everyone (just like those 10 million other fantasy stories)
1: Because that was when the most amount of people could play I suppose.
2: No. The ranks are not supposed to give people an advantage is direct fights against other players.
3: Lag.
Mini pets fighting in regular combat goes against the idea of them being cosmetic gimmicks. And ever profession having combat pets isnt a good idea either I suppose.
Re: Lions. Does the guild wars world actually have lions?
Elona does.
Most likely because they are going to start chapter 2 of the Living story quite soon (we will apparently have at least two updates in May) and the finale of this chapter starts on the 12th.
What part of “non-real” numbers u guys didn’t understand?
I believe they were making fun of people that take every single thing developers say as absolute truths.
Run dungeons, a few runs and you have an exotic weapon of your choice.
Problem solved ^^
Cuz its their choice of playstyle, while i am ABLE to get everything i just dont have time for it cuz it takes too long to get. You have to be there half a day now to get it. I really dont know how else should i explain this to you. Maybe now you ll come up with another `great`idea why im not right.
Btw even if i was a bunker im 100% sure i would get those kills.
And that is your choice of playstyle, so why should they cater to that one but not to others?
I find it quite unlikely that you would get 20 kills in less time than it would take you to win 2 tournament matches as a bunker to be honest.
Well we do know that there is at least one more continent other than Tyria, Cantha and Elona, based on the small scraps of information from the scrapped Utopia Campaign.
We also know that humans are not native in Tyria, so it is quite possible they are actually form another continent rather than another world completely.
whats your problem? you just cant agree with anybody can you? im just asking to change a little thing so that its not as time consuming as it is right now and you just have to be the wisest man on earth dont you? you know what? pls dont make comments ok? let the anet decide if im right or not. i dont need your opinions thx.
But why should they change a thing for you, but not for others that is having “problems” (such as bunkers or tournament players)?
i want to do all of them so problem not solved. we could get it all within 2 hours for 8 months, now you are trying to get ONLY tournament achievement for 2 hours which is ridiculous. so i have no idea why do they have to make it harder and harder after almost 1 year.
So, the only issue is actually yourself feeling the need to do every part of it?
Isn’t it more unfair for people that simply defend a point with a bunker build?
I mean, how are they suppose to get those 20 kills? They are not focused on killing, they are focused on defending.
And those only doing tournaments? They won’t be able to complete the play on 4 different maps, since tournaments are one map only?
It is fully allowed, as long as you manually control both the accounts yourself.
you must be joking omg….start to work 15 hours a day then tell me how easy it is ok?
Ah yes, lets build the game around the extreme minority shall we?
Most people that work (legally anyway) work about 8 hours a day, not 15.
As for the suggestion itself: You don’t need to do all of them, you need to finish five, so simply skip the hardest one, and the problem is solved.
Why do you guys continue to make the majority of your balance decisions around sPVP performance when hardly anyone plays it? By any measure, sPVP has been a failed experiment, why does the rest of the game have to suffer through class balance decisions that are clearly 100% targeted at sPVP?
I suppose you missed the fact that they are splitting skill changes from now on?
It is most likely that “short” because the next arc of the living story is starting on or close to the 16th.
If the zones are dead, why would they be less dead if you bunched them together?
A dead zone is dead no matter how many of said dead zone you put together.
They are however working on revitalizing the “dead” zones, which can be seen with the whole Living Story.
So… how would people react when another group of five players turn up and the % of the health bar suddenly changed from 30% to 40%?
The fact that mobs and such scale with the amount of people attending makes a number based health system quite hard.
Oh? Hmm. I came in late (was given the Trilogy set and EotN as a gift), so it’s entirely possible that Heroes weren’t added until the expansions (I know you can’t even get MOX until you get to Lion’s Arch). I always thought they were one of GW1’s greatest innovations, as they allowed a single player to do what in any other game would be considered a dungeon/raid (or more accurately dungeons/raids, plural, as the later missions expected you to be using either a full team of H&H and/or players, and had difficulty levels set accordingly).
Heroes were added with Nightfall. And MOX was added even later than that.
The ability to use a full party of heroes was added even later than both of those.
So before that you had to either bring real people, or completely useless henchmen, and some missions/quests was more or less completely impossible with henchmen (the Titan Quests are a good example) but also quite a few of the regular missions in Prophecies.
See the bit about ‘getting flattened in the first room’. I managed to take down one of the veterans, and that was all before I gave up from repeated trips to the spawn point.
I’ll tell you then:
There are mechanics in the boss-fights (and earlier for that matter) which require things that AI is not capable of (at least not without making it succeed every single time, which would make it extremely unfair and pointless to do it with real people.
And for all customers they are missing out someone else is spending double the amount of gems on keys for the chests.
You do not need PvP to get map completion.
In fact PvP does not even count for map completion.
But it still does automatic stuff, which would be the same as botting, even if not to the same extent.
A bot won’t start up on itself either.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
Based on other event specific drops, they will NOT be permanent but will leave when Flame and Frost is over.
It is most likely not allowed, since it is more or less an automatic process, which would be compareable to botting.
Strange, I never ran across any of that content and I had all expansions + heroes. I ran into some difficult mobs and dungeons, at times, but I always managed to complete them solo.
I would like to know what content was ‘impossible’ to solo?
The Deep is impossible to get past the first part on your own.
Fully clearing Underworld is impossible on your own at list for most part of the games active life (before the 7-heroes update).
