Well, it is definitely Anets fault though. Why is there still no bundle with S2 that you can buy? There are only Digital Heroic Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition.
If you dont know about S2 release model prior too buying gw2, I can see why you may be annoyed. S2 isnt mentioned at all at the “buy now” page, so it is natural to assume everything is included (because there isnt a checkmark that says it is or isnt, I would just count it to gw2-game myself)).
Because you can still unlock last part of Season 2? It would make rather little sense to release a bundle while parts are still obtainable for free after all.
The second part makes little sense. If I go to a store and buy a game it usually never tells me that there are expansions or DLCs that I also have to buy in order to get everything.
The problem is that the expansion starts more or less 10 minutes after the end of Season 2, and as such a Season 3 would make no sense whatsoever. It is also unlikely that we would get much completely new stuff, seeing as they probably are (and should) focusing on the expansion.
Huh? I had nothing to be wrong or right about. I just said they’re removing the having to do stuff to unlock traits system in HOT.
As an argument for the NPE being bad. Which is silly (and incorrect) seeing as the trait change had a grand total of nothing at all to do with the NPE.
Yep, more or less.
If it really has been two weeks, you can put your ticket # in this thread and hopefully get attention more quickly: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Tickets-for-Review-7-days-older-Part-2/first
That is for GW2 tickets, not GW1.
GW1 support-team is very small. It will take time.
This thread will also get locked/removed seeing as these forums are specifically for Guild Wars 2.
I saw this and I understand that this is the current build of the revenant, but given that a dev as stated things are not set in stone and anet’s iterative design process, I could see them easily making it so you can slot 3 in order to allow for more build diversity, if beta testers find that it is lacking.
It does seem like being able to instantly swap between three more or less completely different specs would be rather overpowered.
The fact that we know that the new AI-guys stuff will be in HoT makes me think that it is rather likely that they have changed the mobs AI quite a bit and as such I am not sure it is possible to claim how well or or bad it will work until we actually see it in action.
Isn’t slow basically just like chilled (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Chilled)? It looks very much like chilled, except with no signs of movement speed decrease.
Chill slows down the enemy and their cooldowns.
Slow makes the abilities take longer to cast. As opposite to Quickness, which makes the abilities go off faster.
buggy forum fixing.
Yes you CAN you just CHOOSE not to do it.
While you might not be able to do dungeons (for some weird reason) it is very easy to just drop into WvW and kill a guard (for land claimer), join a zerg for tower and/or keep or take a Ruin.
Same with PvP, you can easily complete a bunch of them without too much effort.
There is a rather large difference between being unable and being unwilling.
Either Specilizations or Guild Halls I would say.
I would love to see the new WvW stuffs though.
It is not written anywhere, it is just common sense.
When you buy something, you buy what is in the box so to speak. Not expansions, not DLCs, not special items.
If someone buys GW2 after HoT is released, they will not get HoT for free after all.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you don’t actually have to buy the chapters in order to access the story instances. You can join someone that already have the chapters unlocked and do it that way.
You bought the base game.
You got access to the base game.
Living Story is not part of the base game, thus it is not included.
Because you cannot gather Cloths reliably except for salvaging light armor.
Learn to play together in competitive modes.
Simple as that.
It is quite easy to have a group that have good enough access to cleans in order to more or less completely shut down the condition builds.
It is also a bit to early to make claims about issues like these, since we have no idea which classes will have access to Taunt and such.
Maybe the Specialization for Mesmer will have access to Taunt, but by going into said Specialization you lose access to Confusion or Torment and thus the problem won’t really exist.
There are a lot of crowd control effects in the game. Most of them are heavily overused in special encounters. Thus we have information about it based on history.
That is a rather flawed argument.
It is a bit like saying: We have many guns here, therefore we know exactly how every single gun ever will work.
I would not be so fast to assume that it would work exactly the same as that though.
Especially considering that it has been in there in the same form since release, so one could question why they would wait until now to add it, if they already had it ready 2,5 years ago.
So you think you can only know if something is bad or not after you have experienced it yourself? I do wonder what’s preventing you from jumping from a plane in mid air, then.
People have jumped out of a plane in mid-air. Most of them have died. Thus we have information about it based on history.
There is at this time a grand total of no actual in-game experience or information made available to people outside of the Alpha/Beta tests, and as such it is way too early to claim things like that. Unless of course you are breaking the NDA.
This was just the tip of the iceberg. There are more weapons and legends coming with the revenant, but you’ll have to wait to find out more. It’s no fun to spoil everything at once.
It is probably rather unlikely that you can spam Taunt, and as such it would just add another level of strategy to the fights.
But yeah, it is likely that Stability would stop Taunt.
Isn’t this a break of the NDA? Seeing as the only way you would be able to make the claim you do would be if you had actually tried it. And anyone that have access to the HoT testing now are under NDA.
It is extremely unlikely that we will get anything new before release of HoT.
Possibly a couple of more re-runs of existing things (SAB, Queens Gauntlet, WvW tournaments) but for new stuff they would need to pull devs from the expansion, which is rather unlikely that they would do.
They took away my money by removing it when I bought the infinite token, no where did it say token only worked for limited time it said infinite use wtf is this kitten!!
To be fair one could also claim that nowhere did it say that it would be available at all times forever.
To be honest: not rereleasing S1 before Hot would be a massive failure.
HoT will bring new people to the game.
Anet HAS to make sure all pre HoT content is up to date and playable.
That includes the Orr story arcs and S1.If they dont the game will look like kitten before people get to the HoT content and might actually drive people away.
Except for the fact that neither Personal Story or S1 really did have all that much to do with Mordremoth at all.
Sure it would be nice, but it do you really think they will take a somewhat large part of the developers away from the expansion in order to rush out old content?
Releasing it WITH the expansion, possibly, but extremely unlikely that they would release it before.
Aye, they did seem to make a point in the blog post that they would be available specifically to specializations.
Taunt: Having your avatar act against your will is never fun.
Having your avatar act against your will have been a thing since release though.
Taunt seems to basically be an opposite Fear. Instead of running away, you are running towards the foe.
I really don’t see any sort of connection between Heart of Thorns and Game of Thrones actually. Other than the titles consisting of Word + of + Word-starting-with-Th.
You have to keep in mind that the game is rated T. They would never be able to do a GoT-level story seeing as that is rated M. I would also claim that age have very little to do with maturity and such. There are plently of 30+ people that are on the same level as a 15 year old, while there are some 15 year olds that are just as mature as someone twice their age.
And I would actually claim that the game is quite dark already.
Genocide, condemning a whole country to eternal suffering, torture and mass murder is quite dark in my eyes.
As I said, I have not reacted to getting more Krait weapons than other types, ergo I have not seen what you are describing.
Also keep in mind that the krait weapons are (as far as I am aware) Rare, and as such they would not have been a precursor anyway, seeing as precursors are Exotic.
The chance to get an Exotic in the Mystic Forge is quite low. And even if you are lucky enough to get that, you would still have to roll another roll (with an even smaller chance) to have that Exotic be an Precursor.
Sample size is always the point when talking about irregularities.
Personally I tend to get about 50/50 when I use the MF, haven’t really reacted to getting more Krait weapons than other types.
300 tries is still a way too small sample. There are probably thousands of tries every day.
RNG.
5 tries is not even close enough to a large enough sample to make any conclusions whatsoever.
Funny how 9-10 months of no releases in WoW (which requires a subscription) is okay, but as soon as Guild Wars 2 goes a month or so without releases it is the end of the world.
And if you pay $15 per months you will basically have access to everything in the store sooner or later.
The whole thing however is that many games today have BOTH a cash shop AND a subscription (and in the case of WoW, box-prices). Thus adding a subscription does not mean that there will be no cash shop.
Yes, they have worked on it for quite some time. But they probably want it out this year, and thus they need to focus all their resources on it in order to get it done.
Apparently it was an updated cash store that started in 2013. In either event, it was still many years after original release and long after I had quit.
And yet they still have a subscription AND box-costs.
It is also rather irrelevant that it was a couple of years after release or that it was after you had quit.
You claimed that there was no cash-shop. Which is quite clearly factually incorrect, seeing as they have had said cash shop for 6 years (which is more than half the games life).
Yes, you are probably expecting to much.
They are focusing on the expansion now.
The most we can hope to get between now and then is basically re-releases of already created stuff (such as SAB, Queens Gauntlet and such).
Giving us S1 stuff would require a rather massive amount of dev-resources which are better spent on developing the expansion.
But they have them now (and WoW also have subscriptions + box-costs on top of that).
It is quite irrelevant that they didn’t have them before. They have them now, and have had them for years.
You claimed that they didn’t have them, which is clearly false.
Dark Age of Camelot never had a gem store for over 10 years. I don’t think WoW, WAR, or Aion had gem stores either, but it’s been a while and they may have added them.
WoW and Aion have had cash stores for years. WAR have been shut down for more than a year.
Can I respectfully disagree? Converting between Gems and Gold is an option. An option that may help player under specific circumstances. You have gems left but not enough? Convert some gold into the missing gems. You need more gold but cannot spend the time currently? Buy some gems and convert them?
Independently of the current rate, the conversion is an option and options are good.
Oh, I like the option as well. But seeing as basically every single complaints about the gem-store prices is based around how much it costs in gold maybe taking it away (temporarily?) might be interesting.
I still think the gem-to-gold and gold-to-gem conversion rates are absurd.
I honestly wouldn’t mind them having a $15/month fee to play and just get rid of the gem store altogether.
So you would rather be forced to pay every month to even play the game rather than being able to CHOOSE to pay if you want to.
You could of course also buy gems for $15 a month and easily be able to buy whatever you want from the gem-store.
I do agree with the Gold-Gem though. They should probably remove it, since that seems to be the main complaints people bring up. “The rate is way too high, everything in the gemstore costs hundreds of gold!!”.
1: Rytlock enters the Mists.
2: Rytlock somehow becomes a Revenant.
3: Rytlock returns from the Mists at a point before the Personal Story takes place.
4: The Revenant does now exist before Zhaitan is defeated.
It is not a matter of the opinion being unpopular. It is the matter that it outright contradict what we have already seen in-game and you refuse to accept any sort of argument that goes against your view of the matter.
Anet will never give that out. But it is common sense. It is a finite item, new players were scared off by a horrible NPE, and most of the whales would have capped it already. These weekly sales would be the vast majority of their income.
Source?
And if that is indeed true, why bother removing the cost, since people apparently already have all of them?

Very likely that we get Revenant blog tomorrow, due to the Revenant concept art posted on Monday.
Living story is one of the worst ways of story telling to date in MMORPG history.
Wow, that is a very bold statement.
Just because blacksmiths are capable of making a weapon glow or appear fiery doesn’t mean that they are capable of absolutely any effect, though. I believe that ANet made the Caladbolg’s aura unique for a reason.
We should be advocating for consistency, not for making exceptions.
They don’t appear Fiery, they are literally on fire. Thus why they do Fire damage rather than normal damage.
Aye, we should be advocating consistency. Thus we should agree that if a god-level created item can be replicated a champion-creating item could also be replicated.
The problem with the bag cost is that the price of gems seems to just keep going up. I haven’t bought a bag slot on the characters I now play and instead the ones I no longer use have all their slots unlocked. If the cost was more reasonable, I would go for it, but as it is, its just not worth the expenditure when you could instead put all that cash towards something like a legendary weapon.
The price is exactly the same as it was at release.
Forum bug-fixing.
Which i imagine is the case, because if the same amount of new people were playing/spending, and staying, it is likely that profits would be the same or higher, but they have in fact gone down consistently since NPE was introduced, even in the holiday season.
I would say it is much more likely about age. It is very unusual for a game to reach up to the same level of profits 2,5 years after release as it was close to release.
Most games tend to stabilize after some time, even without NPEs or whatever.
In fact I seem to recall the profit being lower (about the same level as the first report after NPE) even before the NPE was released.
