Anyways, the investor analysts who follow the company are confident that release will be in Q3. Q3 is July, August, and September. So probably release is in august, which would have disappointed us in late January but will please us in May.
You mean the same company that have been confident that it would be released in 2013 and 2014?
Yeah technically we get specializations.. But other than that… The current professions (non specialized) wont get anything?
Masteries?
It is also quite likely that existing skills will get a rework due to the changes to stability and such.
But you will never hear that, seeing as ArenaNet have been rather clear that they will never replaced items lost due to being scammed.
The reason for this is due to the fact that it could quite easily unbalance the whole economy quite fast.
General WvWing such as a combination of zerging, roaming and defending, depending on the situation.
I am fully aware that the people that gain most from WvW usually don’t use the gold sinks, but that doesn’t change the fact that there will be more gold put into the system that is not taken away if the gold-sink is removed.
Another thing to keep in mind is that much of the money spent on food doesn’t actually go away, but rather just switches hands. While it is indeed a gold-sink in using the TP, the majority of the money keeps on existing, just in another users pocket.
While they might be minor you have to keep in mind that it adds up with every single server, and have to be redone multiple times per day in many cases. So in the end while the sink per person per upgrade is rather low, it does end up being a rather large sink all in all.
Removing it WILL effect the economy quite a bit though, seeing as you would still generate the money out of nothing while playing WvW. So either they would have to also lower/remove the money gained in WvW or they would have to add another gold-sink.
Keep in mind that you also get a bunch for doing the Mystic Forger Daily when that is available, so the actual number is higher than the 20 you suggest.
I would assume the reason to why they lowered the supply was that it was way too easy/cheap to get the coins, which were supposed to be part of expensive/hard to get recipes.
No, just no, and no. Removing the Upgrade gold sink would have very little effect on the Market as a whole.
Would it?
The amount of money I get by doing a couple of hours of general WvWing (with no upgrading) is actually rather high. Not as high as dungeons or farming SW, but still high enough to effect the market quite a bit if they remove every single gold-sink in there.
This whole issue would be gone if Anet would let us upgrade with Badges of Honor. I’ve legit got about 15k of them lying around.
And then there would suddenly be loads of gold created in WvW with no sink whatsoever and thus the inflation would totally crash the market.
Aye, you can report, and if it can be proven that he did scam you he will be punished. You will not get your gold back however, no matter the outcome.
Well, we do know that today is the last day to unlock Point of No Return for free, so it does suggest that we are getting something today at least.
No you don’t.
I can go in and do the last chapter of an episode if I have completed said episode on the character I want to repeat them on.

Obviously they’re too far from release to give us an ETA. And that’s wise. So many MMOs have given release dates too early and when they don’t materialise on time there’s various downsides.
IMO ArenaNet announced HoT when they did to draw attention away from ESO. Until now GW2 has been THE premier B2P MMO and the payment model has been a big part of its success. Now ESO’s moving to the same one.
I’d have to say it’s worked a little on me. I’ll probably still give ESO another look once the sub goes but I also came back to GW2 and finished levelling a few professions to 80 which I otherwise would not have done. And some of the new stuff in HoT is shiny enough that I’m strongly considering just sticking with GW2.
HoT was officially announced on 24 January after people being invited via an in-game add on 13 January, ESO “B2P” was announced on 21 January which is more than a week after ArenaNet told us about the announcement.

Reference illegal drugs or activities

Use misspellings or alternative spellings of names that violate any of the above rules
I love these little teaser events that show something’s in the works.
Thanks Anet.
Except for the fact that this is not one of them.
It is apparently a bug, as stated multiple times in this very thread.
It is not a matter of how to give access to it (it is quite easily explained by simply claiming you are experiencing things of the past).
The issue is that it was not in any way or form built with replaybility in mind, and the vast majority of it was in the open world and required groups of people. Sure, the system you suggest might work. IF enough people join every time you open the portal thingy.
If they do not on the other hand, it will be more or less impossible to do the stuff anyway.
It also goes against the whole thing about being able to complete story parts on your own if you want to.
There is also the matter of requiring multiple versions of the same map on the servers, which is currently not possible (as seen when doing the Personal Story parts in Lion’s Arch).
b) RNG is crap as it is ignoring player commitment
And if it started counting players commitment it would no longer be RNG and people would rage like made because you were “forced” to use the Mystic Forge in order to mechanically increase your chance to get stuff.
I feel like the drop rates are from when things from chests were trade-able and the drop rates were really low. They’re not anymore and should be adjusted.
Huh?
What was in the chest before that was tradable that no longer is?
I still want an admin to just come here and say “we’re salting our passwords”
And if they did people could simply claim that they lied.
It is also rather unlikely that they would tell us anything about their account-security system.

I hope you’re right, 2016 would be a marketing suicide & anything late-October is Time-To-Market suicide.
And releasing it unfinished in 2015 would be even worse.
ArenaNet actually do real betas. And as such it is quite likely that they don’t actually have a release date yet, and for all they (and we) know it could end up being released in 2016 if there are much stuff that needs to be fixed/changed.
And to be fair, as far as I am aware they have never actually said that it would be released this year.
I find it quite interesting.
Stability as it is right now is probably way too powerful. The change is probably for the better, but will be hard to say before we get to try it.
Keep in mind however that people do dislike change, even if it seemed to be the best thing ever people on these forums would complain about how it would destroy the game and so on and so forth.
Given the other, more recent thread, was trashed, it’s pretty clear they’re seeing all these threads about the mini-dragon. But it’s also becoming crystal clear what the answer is too.
Alas . . . it’ll be the mini none of us on this side of the pond will get.
To be fair the reason why the other one was trashed was due to the tone rather than the subject itself.
But then again, it is quite unlikely we would get it over here, considering it is tied to the VIP system.
When have they said they’re salting? Legitimate question, have seen no evidence and would really like to believe it for personal piece of mind. I see almost no reason to require a unique password other than they’re not salting.
When have they said they are not salting? I have seen no evidence that they do not. You do seem to keep claiming it as a fact though, so the burden of proof lies with you.
Writing your password down is bad IF others have access to the place where you write it down.
Writing it down on a text-file called Passwords here!!!! in the middle of your computer desktop might not be the best idea, especially not if you are not 100% sure said computer is clean or someone else is using it.
You could however write it on your phone or on a simple piece of paper (without referring to it as a password or at least not as a password to a specific place.).
The reason for the first password being unable is most likely due to it being on the black-list. Either for being used by yourself earlier or from being known as leaked from other sites (there have been a bunch of MMO-sites that have had user-information leaked).
Or it simply wasn’t as complicated and unique as you want to think.
And yes, writing it down is a rather good solution.
It is irrelevant if the content would be around for eternity. An item with infinite uses should not be sold as such, if it does not have infinite uses. It was false advertising, which might not have mattered so much, if they had kept SAB around for longer than it was available to be bought in the gem store.
But it does have infinite uses.
It just isn’t usable right now.
If I buy a life-time membership at a gym, that doesn’t mean it will no longer be a life-time membership just because the gym is closed down for a couple of months in order to upgrade.
So you choosing to delete these things knowing full well they would be lost is comparable to buying something that was rendered irrelevant?
That can be turned around as well.
We bought the coin knowing full well that the content would not be available at all times.
And if all the S1 content was permanent instead of temporary perhaps there wouldn’t be a desire for filler content until the expansion…
Of course it would. Because by now the vast majority of people would have already completed all S1 content more than enough times to not wanting to do it again.
People are also overestimating the amount of content S1 actually delivered. It was quite a bit less than S2.
Aye, the toy soldier (at least according to the wiki) is the Charr one. Not a Golem, the wiki could be wrong of course.
Well.. we are most likely getting an update on Tuesday (seeing as that is the last day to unlock Point of No Return for free) so this could be something hinting about that.
Wouldn’t be the first time we have had things like these before releases.
Because being forced to grind out titles in order to get advantages is not a good thing?
The way they did in GW1 was quite bad. You were literally REQUIRED to have certain titles in order to get into groups or do certain content.
Titles are (and should be) cosmetic only.
I would say that it is almost guaranteed that they already had the Revenant planned out when Rytlock disappeared into the Mists, and that was in July. Which is about 7 months ago.
Bringing back Season 1 requires quite a bit of work, and it is rather unlikely that they would pull devs away from working on the expansion just to make old content replayable.
IF it comes, it will be together with or after the Expansion.
I’m more concerned about WvW. The amount of cc casually thrown about by any zerg is going to make stab pretty much useless.
As opposed to it now being basically useless you mean?
I don’t really see how that is a bad thing.
It will require people to think a bit and plan ahead instead of just spamming Stab and then rushing in.
Actually very much true.
While the GW1 account support is now handled via the GW2 support interface, these forums are specifically for GW2 issues. All you can do with GW1 issues is to post a ticket and wait.
As seen here:
The Guild Wars 2 forums are exclusively for discussion and support regarding Guild Wars 2. If you have in issue with regards to the original Guild Wars, please open a ticket directly with Customer Support.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/GW1-Banned/first#post4805182
Based on the information in the thread (checked your posting history) it seems to be a GW1 related issue. And as such it will take quite some time, since the GW1 support team is very small.
Which also explains why there is no comment in that thread, seeing as these forums are specifically for Guild Wars 2.
There is a reason we can dodge in the game.
Also keep in mind that there are multiple enemy mobs that have access to stability (and I would assume we will see more of them) and as such this change makes it easier to deal with the mobs as well.
We also have a grand total of no information how many stacks of stability each skill will give and so on.
It is a bit early to decide if it will be good or not in PvE.
It is quite interesting that you chose to ignore the other information we got about Stability from the very same part of the PoI.
The fact that it will not work for more than one CC per stack.
That was the best POI ever.
No offense to ruby; i understand that her goal is to keep the show focused but I feel like she try avoid showing stuff too much.
The map & the classe will be available at PAX east So show more of it please.& by the way: the wyvern at the end was the best.<3
That is because ArenaNet is quite aware what could happen if they show something without it being planned. A bit like the interviews where they have said things that have been completely misunderstood due to lack of information and such.
Sure, it is nice to get some extra stuff, but getting unplanned stuff might end up bad.
The main problem is not that dungeons can be contested.
The problem is that a contested dungeon should still be reacheable.
You can always go Arah, regardless of status, but CoE is locked down while contested.Simply remove the hard lock shield on CoE and maybe spawn more Inquest troops to make it difficult to reach and everything is fine.
At release Arah was also locked.
But for some reason they changed that (I assume it had to do with locking part of the main story-line behind events that might not always be active and such).
You do not NEED armour. It is fully possible to play the game without it.
Indeed, I have personally killed Tequatl with everyone using nothing except weapons.
Why would you delete a map lots of people enjoy. Clearly more people enjoy eotm than regular wvw.
Source please.
I find it much more usual that I am outnumbered in EotM than I am in regular WvW.
I like it how it is now. It is a rather good place to practice without hurting your own server by doing so.
It is also rather funny to have a group of 7-10 people running around and destroying enemy karma-train zergs ^^
I remember back at release when it required even more.
I seem to recall being able access Arah requires completion (and holding of) the whole Gates of Arah event chain, as opposed to it now only being contested during the last phase of that event.
Not a completely new class. But a specialized version of the existing classes that plays differently from the existing one.
We also DO get a completely new class in the case of the Revenant.
They said nothing at all about points in connection to the Specialization in that announcement.
Would love to have sources for these things, because as far as I understand it there is no points whatsoever involved in the specialization system.
In fact I believe that they have outright stated that going with a specialization might stop you from using the some of the base-class’s mechanics or skills.
A build for what?
so i bought this game comming from a f2p type MMO with the expectation that i would not NEED so spend RL money on it .. as in CS items .. but yet by lvl 70 i only have 5 gold … why on earth would a bought game act as a free to play game ? (and yes i get it * to make money*) but this is no excuse !!
You do not NEED additional bank or bag space. It is fully possible to play the game without them.
But what can season 3 be about, when there is no time between season 2 and HoT? Should we have a season that spans a grand total of 10 minutes time? It makes no sense whatsoever to have a living story season that only spans that little time, seeing as you can basically do nothing at all during that.
There is 1 LS team nowadays I believe, and yes, it is rather likely that they have been pulled in to work on the expansion, since they want to get the expansion released rather soon as opposed to several years from now.
I also really don’t see why a few months of nothing would be such a big issue. WoW goes for 8-9 months before an expansion with a grand total of no patches whatsoever.
We also don’t really know when the expansion will be released. We do know that they will start with betas in a couple of weeks however. And if they make it semi-open people will have stuff to do there as well.
Aren’t the story instances solo only?
