Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square

stop it?!!
by redirecting flow of magic(ley lines) right where he is. did you play the LS1 final chapter? did you see the cut scene?
Yes, I know what happened. But do you know that it was the thing she planned?
For all we know she miscalculated.
And the fact still remains that Elder Dragons CAN wake up on their own without outside help.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
No, it didn’t need Scarlet to wake up (for all we know Scarlet was trying to stop it from waking up).
Elder Dragons can wake up on their own, it just takes a bit longer. ´
Yeah I have direct information of a current ANet employee:
[link]
(also there are other ex or current employees reviews about it too)
You are aware that anyone can write those reviews, right?
I am not saying it is not a (former) employee, but assuming it is would probably not be a good idea.
BTW, why are we sending Kasmeer to talk to Queen Jennah? The player is far more familiar with the Queen, and since I play a human noble it would make even more sense for me to go there personally. The writers have made way points a part of the world and the story, but conveniently forget they exist when ever it suits the plot. We could instantly be in Divinity’s Reach, or any other capital for that matter, and ask each leader personally to join us at the summit. We don’t need to send anyone to do that for us.
I am rather sure that my Charr have never really met with the Queen in any organized form.
Kasmeer on the other hand is (or at least was) part of the nobility of Kryta, and as such she have most likely way more contacts with the Krytan Court than my Charr ever would.
I suppose they could write the story specifically for each race (humans go to DR, Sylvari go and talk to Tree, Charr goes to BD, Norn to Hoelbrek and Asura to Rata sum) but that would most likely require a massive amount of work, and would also create the issue with forcing people into playing all races in order to get all parts of the story, which I doubt anyone would like.
There could potentially be over a million people using the trading post at the same time.
If you post something (at which I assume is the highest offer) someone else would most likely think the same thing and post it at the new highest offer.
Most likely nothing to do with bots, but rather multiple people thinking the same thing.
But you have disproved it based on assumptions rather then actual facts, correct?
I am rather sure that they completely removed the ability for them to drop out in the world with the Feature Patch on the April 15th.
Which to be fair have only even been made on assumptions, just like this.
But yeah, the lore community does seem to lock into the whole: “My theory is correct and the lore-writers doesn’t have a clue”-mentality quite a bit.
^ Why not?
It would be rather interesting to get some more backstory about the Pale Tree.
The reason was to bring back and re-display the previous ANet statements on the subject. Probably the exact reason that brought on the announcement that this would be infracted behavior, now.
Indeed, and the only thing it accomplishes is that they will tell us even less, because they know people will take every single thing ever said as a solid promise that can never be changed.
Good job.
“Necro threads” is a pathetic concern of small-minded people with misguided priorities. Fairly indicative of the company’s direction, if this subject warrants a special rule and notification, particularly in context of this sub-forum for the past months.
To be fair when almost a full page of threads is more or less necroed with completely useless new posts (which main objective is simply to stir up trouble) it does become a concern.
I played quite a lot of other games, dunno if I’m a refugee though. I don’t really know why you think this game isn’t for me. I like most things about it, but I don’t think you’d like to read 5+ posts about how awesome this game is. If you do, I will start working on it.
Because you basically want to change it to a completely different game?
Thats why most games prior to gw2 have public test servers so that people who are willing to test for free do QA it for the devs so the devs can focus on other things!
And yet those games still have bugs when stuff is released, simply because
1: Some issues can’t be found with such a small scale of testing (which was most likely the case here, since it seems to have broke when massive amounts of people interacted at the same time. That couldn’t have been simulated in a good way on a test-server).
2: Most people use test-servers simply to get to play stuff before it is officially released, and doesn’t give a kitten about reporting bugs they might fight.
Another thing to keep in mind is that they DO have a testing server, it is simply not available to the public, but rather a selected group of people that can be trusted to do what they are supposed to do.
See?
This is why they don’t even bother posting. Because when they do people just complain even more than if they were just quiet.
So it’s the player’s fault. Of course!
Of course everything is ArenaNets fault.
And if this didn’t happen and bots kept running around like mad forever it would be ArenaNets fault as well.
Just like the situation in the Middle-East and the starvation in Africa.
If you behave exactly like a bot (which based on my observation from farming trees) which about 99% of the farmers do, is it really that weird that you get handled like a bot?
It was really silly of you to think of it happening. Have you even thought it through? All new charrs, their personal stories etc
To be fair the Personal Story is locked in time.
It takes place two years prior to the current events and since it is all instanced it would still work with ghosts in there.
Hearts and stuff in the open world is another matter though.
But you are ignoring that you CAN do them in groups, which DOES increase the difficulty.
Just to make sure: Did you double-click och the recipe sheet to learn it or did you just buy it?
How about those kitten dolyaks? The event is just broken, every time i log in.
12h are over for sure.
Did work pretty well for me, so didn’t know about and issue with them.
Still not really that long wait for fix (yet) though.
The recipe is for Artificer, so unless you have Artificer on that character it will not show up.
they went through the trouble of syncing the calendar to disprove that kind of argument.
And yet it would seem like the difference between Attack on Lion’s Arch and Retaking Lion’s Arch was just a day or so at most. Despite it being several weeks in real-time.
I know they used that argument for the changing of the calendar system, but I don’t think that proves that everything happens in real-time.
Each time a dragon woke up, it did something incredibly huge and terrible.
More than a few months after waking up, all Mordremoth has done is destroy a few forts and kill a few dozen of people. That’s not big.
Do not confuse in-game time with real-world time.
For all we know it has only been two weeks since the defeat of Scarlet.
Yes, it was some major bugs.
THAT WAS FIXED WITHIN 12 HOURS of release. That is a very fast fix, many games wait until the next scheduled maintenance or update do add fixes like these.
The Dragon’s Reach: Part 1
I get the feeling the Pale Tree is up to something.
She refuses to give straight answers and she insists on gathering all of the major leaders on her home-turf.
To be fair the ending DID make it rather clear that this was not the end. So I wouldn’t say it is all decided yet.
I know what would fix 99% of your problems… say it with me… TEST SERVER!!!!!! OMG! This is the ONLY MMO I have EVER seen that doesn’t use one! How much BROKEN CRAP do you have to shove down our throats before you realise you are WRONG?!
It wouldn’t really fix anything. Especially not the kind of issues like these, since they turn up when a massive amount of people interact with the same thing, which can’t really be tested on test-servers (which they already have btw).
I just love how ArenaNet kicks EVERYONE in area by restarting server every 3-5 minutes and ruins EVERYTHING in middle of doing event.
People on chat kittened off. I know things like this are expected on launch date but this is like…beyond what I imagined.
What are you even talking about? There have been no server restarts since the release (unless there was one within the last two minutes or something like that).
Interestingly enough I seem to recall more or less exactly the same thread but with the world Instances instead of Open World.
Maybe at some point in the future.
Season 1 was however not built with the Journal in mind so they need to make rather major changes for it to work, so if it happens it will take a long time.
Oh, and it was just impossible to predict that many people may press TALK to key NPC. right?
Not really.
But it is one thing to predict that people will do something and another entirely to know exactly how many and what will happen.
They don’t build stuff to break after all.
Pardon me ladies, I’m talking to the arenanet people. perhaps you can test your
new content and look for the bugs then, and not wait till launch day to have the entire
server typing to you to correct your bugs.
And how would you suggest they test a bug that rather clearly happened due to a massive amount of people clicking the same thing at once?
Some things are simply more or less impossible to find during testing, this is a good example of one of those things.
This is very clearly a case of a bug that would be rather hard (of not impossible) to find during testing. Since it does seem to happen due to waaaaay too many people pressing the entity at the same time.
Most likely not a bug, but rather a story-line specific change.
Oh, great! It’s such a great idea! No one could think of a better one!
… Said no one ever.
Actually quite many people did.
And quite many people don’t like that everything was instanced.
It might help to read the post: “significantly more dev red posts” before responding.
Bigger teams exist because they have more work to do than smaller ones. Or perhaps you’re saying Anet is inefficient in their allocation of dev resources?
I did read it. But how many of those posts were made by DEVS. Redpost != Dev-post after all.
Yes, bigger teams exists due to that.
But with bigger teams (that works together) it is also much more likely that someone will have some spare time, as opposed to smaller teams where people are most likely working much closer together and on more things (per person) at once.
Some of the other forums have significantly more dev red posts than this one. Those devs have just as much work to do, no?
How many of those posts have been made by devs though?
You also have to keep in mind that the different teams most likely have completely different numbers of devs, and as such a bigger team should have more time to talk on the forums compared to a smaller one.
There is usually a slight delay between the new patch and the new Gem-store items.
Indeed, seems bugged everywhere.
Gentt now trades Sandy Bags of Gear for Unidentified Fossilized Insects.
See?
Oh, there HAVE been earlier patches, but there have also been later patches. Edge of the Mists patch comes to mind.
Is it me or are these living story (and other) patches being delivered later and later each time?
Nah, they tend to shift from release to release.
Cough 3,5 hours..
Their dates and releases are based on their timezone.
In their timezone it is not even noon yet.
They still have almost 12,5 hours to release it before the time is up.
Take it easy ^^
Actually it is. Shall we delay their ability to play living season for one year, so they can wait like we did since launch?
Isn’t that a rather major difference though?
You don’t get it. I pay money for new character slots. I love making characters, but what I do not like is that I have to make a character, purchase a kit, and then “actually make my new character.” Thats 1150 gems for the full character creation from the start of the game. Is that fair to you?
Is it more fair that someone that starts playing today get access to something that people that have played since release is forced to either pay for or delete a character for though?
I just think is a bit of a shame that he isn’t there as a Shoutcaster as he should. WTF is wrong with ANet?
Because if they paid for his tickets and hotel, they should also do it for Spanish, French, German and Chinese ones as well. Which suddenly means a rather large amount of money, for something that most likely won’t generate much money for them.
How do you know?
Maybe they are increasing the chance for the fossils to drop?
Maybe they are adding a NPC where you can trade other things for them?
Maybe they are making them tradeable?
Back on topic though, it very much sounds like it is going to be from other tournaments. Even if they do add a reasonable method to obtain later, it’s making the game feel more exclusive and elitist and that’s unfair. Especially a game like GW2 which seems to be built around fairness and playing casually at your own pace. Most people throw their reflects up at the start of the fight rather than waiting for the attack they are supposed to be reflecting. I just want the chance to experience everything GW2 has to offer without having to worry about whether I can get into a team with people serious enough to take on the challenge.
To put it simply, it’s a video game not football and people need to stop making it out to be.
But why was it okay to have stuff locked behind dungeons and completely impossible to get without doing said dungeons for more than a year?
