Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
To be fair how do you know that there aren’t in-game moderators?
Just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
The main thing is that they can’t be at all places at all times. Simply report and hope that they manage to get the cheater before he stops.
I find it hard to swallow that Mordi’s vines have spread that far. I mean under seas and mountains. And given the fact that the dragons oppose each other so I also find it hard to believe they would travel that far and not get attacked by Prim or bubbles. Also if they are moving that far that means the very ground is corrupted. And even if we kill Mordi, zhitan’s corruption is showing no signs of deminishing, the ground will remain corrupted for a long time.
I just find it a bit much, even with sespenshion of disbelief. It just dose not make any logical sence to me from how I understand they way the world of Tyria works.
We know that Mordy have knowledge of how WPs work due to Scarlets research. We know that multiple WPs have been attacked by the wines.
How is it so hard to connect those two dots and assume that it is using the WPs to travel?
re: So basically Anet has betrayed the entire customer base because they added something to the game that you don’t like? – Changing the focus of the game, and type of game play, and making that new (previously optional, and problematic for some) type of game play the only way to progress in Living Story is not the same as “adding something to the game that I don’t like”.
But it wasn’t any more optional previously than it is now. And that is what you refuse to accept.
And they haven’t changed the focus of the game.
They have released ONE CHAPTER that needs you to use a couple of skills. HOW is that “changing the focus of the game”?.
But if jumping should be optional, shouldn’t combat, puzzle solving, reading, listening, looking and thinking be optional as well?
Wouldn’t that basically mean the game would be nothing at all?
Or should they just cater to those that dislike jumping, while ignoring those that dislike other parts of the game?
Funny/Scary thing is… a device like this is mentioned in game (in scarletts room if i remember correctly)
It was also used in the Edge of Destiny book.
^ Well to be fair people with dyslexia CAN learn to read and write.
The main issue people have is that the OP and other anti-jumpers seems to be under the impression that ArenaNet should cater the game specifically for them, rather than for the majority.
I think the giants simply look like that. Not that it is the same giant.
It is rather common for different entities of the same type creature to look about the same.
I have an interesting theory on this:
If you watched the new entangled trailer you will see the vines are spreading throughout to other areas. The photo that you just posted confirms my theory. Whoever, or whatever is using the Waypoint System to spread out to other areas. That is why you see the same Giant from the town of Town of Nageling in a desert region perhaps Dry Top. Perhaps the vines are grabbing creatures from other areas and WP them to Dry Top.
While I agree with the WP-theory I don’t think it is the same giant as Nageling, I simply think that is how giants look overall.
How many copies did GW2 sell in west? 3 million?
I’m more than willing to bet that 3/4 of those people who bought the game are no longer playing.
Always funny with speculations aye?
And even if it was true, how is it different from any other MMO ever released?
For me the birthday gift was exactly the same it was the first year.
Bit disappointing but didn’t bother me too much.
You can’t have gotten the second birthday present yet, seeing as no characters can be 2 years yet.
You are probably talking about getting the first year birthday present on a new character.
The presents are tied to character age, not game or account age.
Or they just leave a small print that this is in active development and intended for release in year x, with no fixed deadline.
You mean just like they did in the case of the blog being discussed here and yet we still see these threads rather often?
People read what they want to read, no matter how clearly they are told that it is a plan and might change.
But if they aren’t plants, then what are they?
Insects? Creatures? Beasts?
Walking sticks looks like sticks, that doesn’t mean they are trees.
I still wonder why people think that they should cater to the anti-jumping part of the community, but at the same time they seems to be totally cool with required fighting, required puzzle solving and other required things that there might very well be people that dislike as well.
ArenaNet should cater to the largest group when opinions differ. Simple as that. If they start catering to minorities they might end up losing loads of people which might end up killing the game.
They removed them due to not wanting to spoil the story.
I also think that it might very well have something to do with these forums exploding shouting about how they overhyped everything.
One part of these forums wants preview pages. Another just want small teasers/trailers, which side should they cater to?
Aye, what makes you so sure they are actual plants?
Mordy is most likely not a plant, despite the possibility of it looking like one.
I have a feeling that the choice is between sands with a CHANCE to get something vs nothing at all.
I have a feeling most people prefer that chance to get something over getting nothing at all.
In what way do the teaser even slightly suggest that Scarlet is coming back?
I have checked it rather many times but I see a grand total of zero indications that it have anything at all to (directly) do with Scarlet.
A cheap rip-off of infinite tsukuyomi.
Yeah, because Naruto was the first thing that ever talked about something like that…
Proper game design would limit NPCs to the same mechanics as players and then build storylines, quests, dungeons and other confrontations around those limitations.
Not really.
If a NPC is SUPPOSED to be stronger and better than the PC it would make no sense whatsoever to put the same limitation on that NPCs as on the PC.
We as humanoids are not attached to a single immovable source. A vine has to have roots somewhere. it cant just slither around like a snake.
Dollies aren’t humanoid either, and yet they seem to be fully able to use WPs.
We don’t know the nature of the vines at this time. It is fully possible that they are simply long strands of something (like a snake) or that they simply can travel via the energy used in the WPs.
I dont think the vines are travelling via waypoint. that doesnt make sense, wouldnt it get chopped into two peices from that?
I think mordy is attacking concordia because he knows what scarlet knows, and she knew that the pact killed zhaitan, and so mordy is doing a lil preemptive strike.
Why would they?
Do we get chopped into two pieces when we use WPs?
We actually know that Scarlet did work on Mobile WPs, which would suggest that she (and therefore Mordy) had rather good knowledge of them and as such it is fully possible that it could use them in order to travel far.
The second in command of the Aetherblades was a Norn.
LS2 started one week ago, we have had a grand total of 1 release, I would say it is a bit early to complain about lack of Norns already (keep in mind that the first half year of LS1 was more or less focused on the Norn).
Putting Sons of Svanir into the story right now just for the sake of putting them in would be silly. We will see them sooner or later (at the very latest when we move towards Jormag) but adding them without any real reason would probably hurt the story more than just leaving them out for now.
Indeed, it does seem to go straight for the Pact at least, which would suggest it has already identified one of its major opponents. (And Prosperity if it sees us as major threats as well ^^ )
Indeed, and it does fit with the reveal about Scarlets knowledge of Mobile Way-points ^^
It might be just they plan to show Morde attacking the pact directly. I mean that’s some pretty kitten far reaching corruption, assuming the vines are his(her?) work.
It seems to be using the WP-system to corrupt things ^^
Man, I am so glad I stopped playing this game years ago. The cycle of hype and delays and underwhelming releases is like a bad crack addiction.
And yet here you still are, despite leaving the game before it was even released.
That might actually be rather interesting, and might suggest that it knows exactly what Scarlet did, and as such uses her knowledge of (mobile) waypoints in order to find and disable them.
Or simply follow them to the enemies bases.
Seems like we will get at least one more giant to slay with the next release!
There, I fixed that for you.
I started playing GW1 soon after Prophecies was released and still play it now and then. It has never been balanced, there have always been (interestingly enough mostly the same) OP combinations.
The balance in GW2 IS better than the balance in GW1 ever was.
Guild Wars quick with balance issues?
I might have missed something but Guild Wars never managed to get even close to balanced during all their years of active development.
Yep, that is how it works now.
Given how they stuffed her into the Thaumanova reactor fractal, I have no doubt that if this was taking place in FS instead of Maguuma Wastes, she would have been up there too.
But how was she stuffed in?
We KNEW that she was working with the Inquest at some point.
We KNEW that the Inquest had a “new consultant” prior to the disaster.
The fact that the leyline went straight through the Reactor would also give her a rather large reason to be there.
But sure, lets ignore all the logical reasons for her being there
Link me a thread where people said WvW is dying during the 3 day pre launch in . August. Go ahead. Evidence or don’t talk at all.
“Since the launch”.
What does your post have to do with the post you quoted….?
No, most people do not just up and change their phone companies. Especially when there are large early termination fees involved.
But people will call over and over and over and over again to complain. They will write letters to the phone company. They will send emails. They will post all over the phones companies forums. They will get a hold of the CEO’s phone number and email and use that.
I suppose it depends on what kind of people it is.
It is however extremely unlikely that as many people as hang around here (based on % of the playerbase) after they quit playing would hang around a phone company they dislike and do the same.
Either they pay that early terminations fees or they just accept it and wait until the contract is over. Sure a bunch of people will spend most of their free time whining about it, but I doubt it is as high as the amount of people doing it here about this product.
How would most of us react to our phone company or local big box store or whatever was treating us like anet does? I’m guessing in short order we’d be furious and demanding to speak with their boss(es).
Most of us would probably you know, change phone company instead of hanging around and whining about every single thing they do.
But for some reason people can’t do that with this game it seems.
The only thing I am sure we will get is massive amounts of complaints about whatever GIFT we are given.
If this was the case I’d be as happy as a hippy on Sunday!
But the truth is they havent even been doing that, hence why people are still complaining about exploits which have been around since launch!
Which are these exploits that have been around since launch though?
And yes they do have people working on WvW, even if it is a very little group.
The content is unlocked account-wide, but the progress is character-bound.
Another thing is that the area is not tied to unlocking the story content. The area is available for everyone, even those that have not bought the story parts.
Because Hearts are there so that people know where to go and what to do (they were not supposed to be in the game at all from the start) and as such putting them in lvl 80 areas doesn’t make much sense, since people should know what to do at that point.
It is summer, less people play overall. Was the same last summer.
People will swarm back with the next Season.
As to how you can know how a “large amount of players” left every single server I don’t really know but I am still seeing plenty of WvW:ers when I play.
It was not said in an article but rather the live-stream I believe.
But the fact that it says “Past episodes will be available for purchase for 200 gems” rather than Past episodes must be purchased for 200 gems" would suggest that it is very much optional.
HOW can you intepret it in two different ways?
When they outright stated that you can CHOOSE to buy content you have missed.
If you HAD to play everything in order you can’t CHOOSE to buy content, since if you don’t, you will be locked out from every single release until you do so. Do you really think they would have left something like that out when they talked about it?
Where did they say that though?
What they said was that it is now decided that LS1 and LS2 takes place after Personal Story and that it will be recorded in the Journal, the same way the Personal Story is.
Nowhere did they say that it would require doing all parts in order. The only things we actually know is that we CAN buy parts we have missed if we WANT to. If you were REQUIRED to play all parts before joining the current part it would not be a case of wanting to buy, it would be a case of NEEDING to buy.
I am just trying to explain how it looks from their point of view.
From their perspective no one other than you (or someone with your password and in your home) have logged into your account, and as such it have not been compromised and thus they usually don’t do much about it.
Most likely not.
You can try contacting support, but wouldn’t count on it.
re: This makes no sense since you can buy the missed story episodes for 200 gems at a later time/then you can’t play it, because you haven’t bought the previous episodes. – Looking at it this way, it does seem like the different living story parts should be separate and not depend of sequential completion.(like Personal Story) It would be nice if an Anet employee could clear that up for us.
Well to be fair, where have they ever even implied that you would be unable to do one part because you didn’t do the the ones before?
That would basically FORCE people that start playing in the middle of S2 to buy the first half of it in order to even do the current releases.
But how can it be pretty apparent?
If someone logged in on your computer and deleted stuff they can’t know if it was someone else of if you just got tired of the characters, and THAT is the issues.
IF your account was compromised they could easily fix it. But since there is currently nothing actually pointing towards it (rather that you or someone in your home that knew the password, did it) and therefore it would most likely be considered as a “player mistake” and those are rarely fixed.
I doubt we would have seen a lair of Ceara/Scarlet in FS, seeing as it is most likely EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that she had a lair in an area rather close to where Mordremoth slept.
What they are saying is that there haven’t been any evidence that someone other than you have accessed your account.
Which would suggest that it was accessed and deleted from your own IP-address.
I remember leading up to the final patches of last year, getting excited because I knew that new legendaries would be coming out soon, and then patch after patch slipped by, and nothing.
My experience, summarized perfectly.
Well to be fair they told is in OCTOBER that new legendaries most likely wouldn’t be released last year. So it was MONTHS before then that they informed us about that.
