Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Alright, so they apparently know about the holes. Maybe the issue is that they haven’t find a way to close them yet? But I suppose the solution is “public knowledge” as well?
Since you can’t see who is using the hack, how do you know it is the same user everytime? For all we know they are getting banned, but ArenaNet have yet to find the hole that allows the hack.
What makes you think we don’t?
No need to troll. I just want to know when it will be released.
Not really trolling, more like stating the fact that you are clearly waiting for stuff that we have no idea if they will be in this release (they most likely won’t).
As for release, we don’t know, usually it is released sometime during the evening CEST.
Anyone else get the feeling they’re doing as little as they think they can possibly get away with? Game development feels so lazy and sloppy…
Ah yes, they need to release stuff for all those subscribers.
Oh…
There are multiple games that don’t release stuff at all between expansions, and yet they somehow manage to get away with it just fine. And yet GW2 that releases stuff twice a month is “doing as little as they think they can possibly get away with?”
They never have set release times, but it is sometime during the day.

It looks more or less the same as the original.
So.. what is the issue?
The talked about it, and overall they have worked towards that.
If you want to start a discussion (which I doubt you want, you just want to hate a bit) it would be a good to actually start a discussion in the first post, rather than just posting a link.
The link is after all fully available to everyone, even without this thread posting it.
PTS aren’t guarantees that stuff will be bug-free.
In fact I see just as much (if not more) bugs in games that have PTS (Lord of the Rings Online comes to mind).
There IS a testing server however, with players. But those are all under NDA and as such it is not discussed openly.
Having it publicly available would most likely end up hurting the game in the long run, since
1: there would be no surprises because the story would already be spoiled by the PTS.
2: the economy would become completely unstable due to people outright knowing that a certain item would increase in demand before the patch is released.
Also depends on whether the Anet servers will handle the bandwidth, as every tuesday update they do, it usually fubars up and many of us have to wait till after 12am EST to get the kitten thing to go above 0k/s
That have a grand total of nothing to do with size though.
Both of these picks existed before, so when one of them turned up again, it could be considered somewhat likely that the other might as well.
There is also a long thread about this from when it was first released over here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Watchwork-Pick-Why-No-Response
Netfix HD stream will eat that in an hour or two.
Indeed, but streaming isn’t really “just browsing”.
exactly, i’m lost somewhere in the middle of QC, and here, a decent internet (well here “decent” means it doesn’t crash often) costs so much, and it’s still not really good, because there’s just not the infrastructure needed to be “good”
sooo I guess
new map(s) : 5-10GB
no new map : the usual 250-500mb ??
New map won’t get close to 5-10 gb.
The whole client is about 18gb I believe, and that includes more than 25 maps.
I would say 1 gb at most for the update, most updates are at around few hundred mbs.
Past a… few… gigabytes?! FEW?!
That’s what I consume in like 2 hours of just browsing. What sort of backwards place do you live in, lol?
If you consume a few GIGABYTES in two hours of just browsing, something is very very wrong.
Yes.
You needed to complete the story-modes AFTER the feature patch in order for it to count.
We never know before the patch hits, and that is mostly due to the fact that it usually defer between different people.
It is usually under 1 gb though.
I think that the mursat are gone all but one. And the mantle were officialy iniciated into the seraph together whit the shinig blades. Thou the ideology may still be alive somehow.
Wait.. what?
I am 100% sure this statement is completely false.
For one the White Mantle still exists, as enemies of the Crown (which is defended by the Shining Blade).
And the fact that the Shining Blade isn’t Seraph is another thing that shoots down your statement.
The Shining Blade is basically the elite bodyguards whilst the Seraph is the army.
Because hes not. Grenth was already a god when malchor was tasked with creating the statues
Was he?
I thought the Megaserver was supposed to allow for accessing guild banks anywhere. Is that not true?
They talked about possibly adding that in at a later time.
It is rather unfair however to compare a point in time that was in the middle of winter when traditionally people play more with the middle of summer.
Comparing it to a year ago on the other hand and we had about the same situation as we have now.
Sure it might be a sign of it dying, but it has been going up and down in waves since release, and people have used the same argument since release about it dying.
If it were dying already back then it is extremely unlikely that it would still be alive now 2 years later.
The entire game costs $40, but a single armor skin is $10? That’d be pretty costly even for a f2p game. Just glad I got on board early while gold -> gems was still a viable option for a consistent and moderately skilled player.
It might be costly, but it also 100% optional. You don’t gain any kind of advantage for buying said skin and it doesn’t effect the game in any way or form.
How would you suggest they financed the continued development of the game without having stuff costing some money for sale?
And yet the same has been said about WvW since release, and yet WvW is still alive, so clearly it is not dying as much as people try to suggest.
WvW guilds come and go. The same WvW guilds that played the game back at release are not playing now, but others have taken their place.
That is just how life is, groups come and go, but the actual amount is usually around the same.
People can get the sprockets without spending money though, and they can get the pick without spending money as well, by spending time.
Nope, it only effects it if you actually add it to the system.
Gems are not added to the trading automatically because people buy gems. They are added because people use their gems to trade them for gold.
IF you buy gems and then trade them for gold, you don’t really care much about the Gold-Gem price, seeing as you would not have traded them in the first place if you wanted gems.
You trade gems to gold because you want an extra boost of gold.
One thing to keep in mind is that Hearts were added very late into the games development (seem to recall it being somewhere during late beta). And they were added simply because people didn’t understand what to do without them.
Since new zones will most likely mainly be higher leveled it is rather unlikely that hearts would be needed.
It is working as intended.
The guild bank (and upgrades and influence) is tied to servers, and as such you won’t have access to it on Far Shiverpeaks, but if you go back to UW you will have everything waiting for you there.
If they really want to make money, then they need to get rid of the Gold > Gem and then start putting more desirable things on the gemstore (convenience items).
You are aware that those gems that they trade for gold needs to have been bought with real money in the first place, right?
WvW might have a bit fewer people now. But that might have to do with several things:
1: It is summer.
2: There is no Season going on.
3: There haven’t been any big updates in the game for some time, so people don’t play much overall.
I also seem to recall having posts about WvW is dying basically at the same day the game was released, and yet it is still there with rather long queues at times.
To be fair talking about him as “that whiny ghost” simply shows that you clearly don’t understand his story.
Have you seen what happens on these forums as soon as a dev post something?
I remember back in the days when people were complaining about the temples always being contested ^^
While I agree that there might not be new races soon, I do find your points rather weird.
1: There is a rather large zone where the Tengu capital is placed, which is not 95% water.
2: They can add lower level zones as well, just because they haven’t (they have added a grand total of 2 zones since release, so don’t really think we can say for sure that that will always be the case).

Hm, that is indeed rather surprising. Especially since they skipped it the last round.
It is not allowed, since it doesn’t require human input to do those clicks.
A script that would make space = mouse-click would probably be okay, but a script pressing space = 100000000 mouse-clicks would not be okay.
We didn’t defeat the enemy. We killed Scarlet, but she claimed victory anyway.
Exactly.
One thing I’d wish the writers would do, is focus more on one particular race. It seems that when ever something happens in the story, the writers feel compelled to involve every single race in it. And that’s absolutely not necessary. The players them selves already cover the wide spectrum of races. It is okay to have the npc’s all be of the same race. So when something happens in Rata Sum, it’s okay if all the npc’s in the story are all Asura.
I seem to recall people complaining like mad about how the Personal Story focused too much on a single race (Sylvari) though.
You mean there were no victories, just like in the real world?
This isn’t a fairy tale, stuff doesn’t end well just because we happen to defeat an enemy.
Why is it impossible that more people though the same as you did, and the fact that you actually did it pushed them into doing it as well?
1) I know Belinda mentioned Brisban and the bandits but that still could have been just a random talk and have nothing to do with s2.
Why would they add in that scene just as random talk though? It makes no sense whatsoever.
Guess, I’ll try WildStar. Heard it has some quality stuff, and most importantly, that it is more difficult/demanding than GW2, which let’s face it, is rather easy. Ordered it already!^^
To be fair a couple of months or so after GW2s release it was the “hardest thing ever release” as well
It is a RPG after all, stories tend to be rather important in those.
Would you rather run around killing the same mob over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, just for the sake of killing them?
I would assume that people hanging around on these forums would be more likely to play content from this game.
But then again, reading these forums might suggest otherwise.
They are however two different kinds of games and would most likely not target the same group of players.
Indeed, they have said nothing at all about the size or content of the patch, other than it being the start of LS S2.
So I would love to see the source for this supposed “very large patch”.
It is however rather unlikely that they would add a new character that comes talking about very specific stuff in one of the Living Story specific instances without it having a bearing on the coming update.
This topic or community is not toxic. Telling a company’s mistake with 43 pages of legit complaints is not toxic. The only toxic thing in this topic is megaservers.
Are you really going to defend blatant THREATS against the staff of the game? Really?
Because that is rather common over there in the Facebook comments.
Not to mention all kinds of other abuse and such.
For me, the most telling part was when the deleted the Facebook post about the Megaservers. FB is far FAR more public than the forum, and more likely to be the first impression of the game for new players.
Or maybe, just maybe, they didn’t want to spend the whole day constantly moderating the post which they would have been required to do if they did not remove it.
The community over there is extremely toxic and quite a few of them breach Facebooks rules as well.
During the living story they can set a failure/succes ratio. If the instance is succesfully cleared a number of times it progresses in favor of us. If not, the next chapter will cause ruin
But that would basically require them to create two completely different versions of the next chapter one which will never be used and thus be seen as a complete waste of time and resources.
I personally don’t think that releasing game-play rewards in the gem-store is such a good idea.
Better to release them in the way they are currently doing with the Festival of Four Winds.
