In FF14, you still have to level every class. Unfortunately, there are barely enough quests to level up a single class. The other classes are leveled thru FATE (like Dynamic Events) grinding. You also have to carry all the extra gear.

There was some push back on reddit about HoT. I understand it’s the largest discussion in the GW2 sub-reddit. Biggest complaints were no character slot and just not enough content to justify the cost.

I understand you don’t like tab-target/click-to-target. Not clear what you want though. Are you asking for a target reticle like FPS games, where the camera is locked to the mouse and you always attack the center of the screen?

Had a guy ask during an sPvP match how to join, so I’m bumping this thread for him.

ANet said no new gear tiers, then they added Ascended. Almost three years later with no new gear, so I think it’s a safe bet that Ascended will be it for while, possibly forever.

I’d be happy if I could block and report gold sellers at the same time.

I’ve played other first run P2P games that were much, much worse. You’d have to clean out your block list daily, and often would fill it up again. So it could be worse.

You got power builds, you got condition builds and you got hybrids..

My dungeon info may be a bit dated, but you used to want sword/x & sword/x, with focus, pistol or OH sword.

Like Silverkey said, in WvW our job is single target damage. When roaming, that’s the enemy roamer. In group fights, that’s the enemy back line squishies. A lot of commanders use TS. NA mornings, it’s often not English friendly tho.
Yes there’s a lot of blobbing.
Solo roaming is rough most of the time.

I instantly thought of Weiss and her glyphs when I saw the Chrono reveal.

I see a lot of Mesmer in RWBY. Blake runs Deceptive Evasion and Sun runs Mirror Image.

I found Reaper to be enjoyable in WvW. Overall, GS and Shouts need some love. I’d LOVE a leap on GS. I think GS #5 should be a targeted skill, the same for RS #2 (Necro-copter).

Reaper has better stab than I thought. RS #3 provides stab.

So far, I agree with both Silverkey and gavyne, it was fun but probably won’t earn a spot in a premade front line party.

I didn’t try it for reset, but I ran it this morning in T3 during the end of SEA time, in a PUG with no voice chat. I found myself camping RS and D/W. The lack of stab is a problem.

So far, my answer to what Reaper brings to the front line is nothing.

Lag was painful on EB for reset.

Just don’t be the only guy popping Lich in a group fight. If all your Necros pop Lich at the same time, you’re less likely to be focused down.

dagger is only 2 targets max + DPS is lower than GS. Warhorn is good, so if staff is not so useful (but I feel it would be), we can trade it for dagger and open the push with locust swarm before switching to GS.
Life force regen should not be a problem with all people dying around, the limit to our survivability will be the cooldown of the shroud.

@lujate a full shout could be fun, especially with rune of the trooper. But I’m not convinced by shouts vs wells + spectral armor. “Nothing can save you!” could be interesting both the vuln and the unblockable, “You are all weaklings” is guaranteed 20 might on you + weakness around, “suffer” we’ll have to see how damaging this is… Definitely something we could think about. Do you think rune of trooper will work considering our shouts don’t affect allies?

I think Johannes meant to take the current Staff/D-W build and just change the weapons to be Staff/GS.

I don’t think a Wells Reaper can match the damage of a Wells Necro, so I’m thinking about going in a completely different direction. The triple Shouts may not work. If I end up as a greasy spot on the ground too many times, I’ll have to swap out for something like Spectral Armor.

I survive well enough as a triple Wells staff Necro in full zerker, but I don’t see Reaper pulling that off. I’m thinking Soldiers gear with some kind of defensive rune.

What about a full shout build, something like:

In my experience, the desire to “boil the ocean” is the worst culprit. Ready to release fixes/features are delayed waiting on other, completely unrelated, fixes/features.

One can only hope. 2016 is the window which probably means later half if he makes it. If they can pull it off there isn’t much GW2 can do to compete. If it has anything close to Darkness Falls.

A little competition in the RvR market would be good for GW2. CU does have some striking differences though, so I’m not sure they’ll truly be in the same space.

They’re probably correct that most WvW players also do some PvE, not necessarily by choice though. Most players I know do PvE to support their WvW. If the game was structured where you could be self sufficient playing only WvW, you’d have a lot fewer players farming DT and SW.

In sPvP the goal is to score points, and good fights aren’t there best way to do that. You’re better off capping uncontested points or overwhelming the enemy in Xv1 scenarios. When you do get a good fight, your team mates will probably rage at you because it’s not the best way to help the team.

My only experiences in the past have been roaming as a Thief in WvW, which A) it takes way too long to find someone most of the time I’m extremely poor in GW2 so my gear isn’t really up to par.

In my experience, you get better fights roaming than in sPvP, but YMMV.

metabattle.com is a good place to start for roaming and zerg builds (zerg being large group and roaming being solo or duo).

There are no current “meta” builds up on metabattle for any prof. Sure you can adapt some PvP builds for (mostly) roaming, or take a look at the Draft/Test builds, but there are no Meta builds up for WvW.

If you’re curious about builds check the guides posted on intothemists. Some streamers post their guides there.

Voice Comms are definitely the place to be if you want to help out your server.

The link at the top of the GW2 page for FORUMS still redirects me to a login page.

I see this issue periodically on my tablet. In Chrome, I Google “gw2 forums” and tap the resulting link to go to the forums. It redirects me to the login page. I don’t have my authenticator, so I can’t log in. No matter what I do, it won’t let me get to the forums.

How can I skip the login page and browse the forums anonymously?

I got the same issue. I’d read before people said skipping cut-scenes can cause issues, so I watched all of them. It looks like that “fix” doesn’t work.

You get people who need capture points for Daily forced into Deathmatch, which doesn’t have capture points.

I wont be surprise if they delete underwater combat completely. But then again we have to see revenant and his synergy in there. After all its a new class build from 0, so if he actually has workable utilities, all traits etc. Why? So the last new underwater combat was added November 16, 2012 (almost 3 years ago). In the same time, they removed it completely from sPvP and mostly from WvW.

Well that gives me a pretty good idea of the future of underwater combat.

I like underwater combat.

People’s complaints include:
-Breathers require a separate rune
-Ranger downed skills are mega OP
-Skills /Traits that don’t work

As to the question of the future of underwater combat, when was the last time underwater content was added?
