Yep, they’re just in the way.
It’s already bad enough that some trolls lay down box ‘o funs around those vendors or bank services. But npcs shouldn’t be the ones to cause any interference with a simple pit stop to the bank or TP. I’d say either silence them (remove “Greet”) or alter their path cycle.
It shouldn’t be too demanding or too difficult/tedious to do.
Yea, looking like everyone else with the same outfit is getting older than old. /been.serious.since
And people are willing and or will happily throw cash at the ability to mix and match, but apparently no ones money is good enough for Anet anymore.
I’ve been waiting for a discount on gathering tools since forever.
IIRC, they had a decent sized sale on those earlier this year like in early Feb or March, can’t remember. I just know it wasn’t last year or anything b/c I remember getting a couple sets after January. They might do another sometime during the fall or closer towards halloween.
I can say where I didn’t get mine, from rng.
As already said, new players get enough freebies. There was already recent outrage on the forums about the expansion packs and their prices, doubt anyone wants to see another so soon.
Best thing for anyone new would be to find a good group to get with and experience the content with them. As new players, you may be offered more bells and whistles to bring you in but you’ll get bored of ’em eventually.
There’s a good, happy blissful and dark ugly side to everything. Just sayin’. Just don’t mind the other side much.
Yep, not really feelin the change. It was fine how it was before, now my asura doesn’t even look me in the eyes anymore. :/
Exactly.
We don’t know if OP is telling truth. He only claims things.
Same goes for anyone else.
Exactly. Never trust people on the internets. Never.
There’s a little something called ‘benefit of a doubt’ by the way. And knowing cruel people exist. What if life imitated art and everything was only an illusion, that everyone only existed in a bubble and fed false information their whole life and your eyes only let you see what you were told to believe?
We don’t know if OP is telling truth. He only claims things.
Same goes for anyone else.
how do you know if OP is not trying to get your money? he didnt prove anything yet
No ones allowed to post anything publicly incriminating someone ingame or call them out, so how could he prove it?
And if you were in his situation, anyone could easily say the same. So attempting to discredit what someone says is a waste.
Anyone looking to help wouldn’t be intent on getting paid upfront anyways. If you run into greedy people like that and they insist on payments upfront for their ‘so called’ help; You have every right to refuse and look for someone more willing to help. And there’s more than enough people who’d be willing to help, just don’t get too desperate. Or.. this happens unfortunately.

We should have a Lion Statue where the old one was at the “Lion’s Court” Point of Interest. (The area seems to be some sort of Sylvari “Pale Tree” shrine now.
Very strange that they should have the largest influence in the new look of our city, given their current strained relations with the other races).
I’ve actually been finding this kind of curious after the recent happenings with the fleet, mordy and the ‘supposed’ mind controlled slyvari. Let alone surprised to find no lion statue where the previous one stood when doing that crab achievement.
Another thing you could do along with ‘ignore, block and report’ is party with a friend who’s online, and simply join on their instance(s). If whomever is trying to grief you, persists to stalk you, they’d only be able to see you online and nothing more.
The only exclusive items should be behind content you can choose or choose not to do. Specifically such as fractals, pvp, wvw and holiday events. Aside from that, everything should be obtainable some how and never permanently unavailable to people who probably had more important agendas (irl priorities, lack of funds, bills, family time/emergencies, etc..).
I’m sure you wouldn’t want things suddenly coming up or happening that caused you to miss out either. No one would. So why bar anyone else from the same ingame content?
No one persons time or money is worth more than anyone else’s. If they invest either or, they should have as equal chance to obtain the same.
If they waited “this whole time” just to buy the expansion, some people who are overly critical about ingame exclusivity would have lost out on ingame items either now too expensive or no longer in circulation.
But yea, the price is rather steep. Most I’ve ever spent on (newly released) expansions (non mmo) is $30 tops with no core included.
with Anet the price has always been $50.00 for the add on packs . and if you want the bells and whistles $100.00 the only mmo games that might be $30.00 is wow maybe being it is pay to play .
It’s just pretty apparent now they’re leaving out the majority of peeps who already have a modest sum of ‘bells and whistles’ in the dark and rather cater to new players.
Taking care of the prominent player-base is what it should be since they’ve played the past 2+ years and don’t forget the die-hard fans, versus pulling new people and tempting them into digging deep in their wallets.
Bleh, was gonna go on longer but I’ll cut to the chase.
2+ years = plenty of bells and whistles to be had, and not having an option to upgrade, while including a slot to accommodate a major feature of the expansion is just making everyone who already has the game feel pretty inferior. Not to mention the price tag.

So, i crafted the Foefire’s Essence and i’m using now for 4 days i think.
But i’m starting to regret it.
I wanted because of the look, because i wanted my character to use something expensive and hard to get and because i wanted people to look and comment and say: “hey, nice GS!” “wow, that is an amazing GS, can i see it?
”
But no, people just don’t give a kitten , but if i was wearing a Sunrise ( i wouldn’t go for Twilight because it doesn’t fit for my guardian [personal thing] ), things would be different.
I think it’s because the ascalonian GS and Cobalt are kinda similar you know, one is blue with a ghost fog/flame and the other one has a very well done (imo) blue flame effect and then people kinda don’t see anything amazing or nice about the Foefire.
Now i feel like i just wasted time and i should have put the GS to sell for 470g.
argh, i hate myself.
:(
Doing something for attention is never a good idea.
Yep ^
Best to just keep constantly updating/improving your character looks and usually that’ll suffice. I haven’t gotten very many compliments as of late simply b/c I’ve been too busy to log on much, but some people from time to time would notice some of my characters stand out a lil more.
Vibrant colors, uncommonly used armor combos, even play style can be a factor. But yea, look around and do something(s) that would make you stand out more. Just never do it for the intent of getting attention, do it because it appeals to you.
It wouldn’t take a million to get rich on here or any other game. And real life issues would take priority before anything else.
I would’ve gone for something more “guard-like”. Something like Dragon Warden or such, Dragon Hunter’s sounds too offensive-based for guardians (to me at least).
Anyways, it’s the lighting that made ’em look more grey. Standing in this cave changes it, along with adding reflected ambient light. Looks a lot more like thin stockings in comparison to bare skin.
I see a tint of light reflected in game, and I suppose. But ultimately I just use that poly luminescent black refractor to give it all a more uniform colored look (pitch black).
What are your graphics settings? To me it is very clearly a black fishnet stocking. I can see the crosshatched lines and everything.
Graphic settings are on highest, and I see grey on every pic posted by others as on these forums, and looks exactly how mine look ingame.
/looks more grey than black to me.. or a matte black at most.
This is primarily for female humans, and maybe norn possibly sylvari as I’m sure the other 2 races use the male version of the outfit
As an outfit, it does looks good. There’s just one part of it that bothers me, and I’m wondering if anyone else thinks its a noticeable eyesore.
The greyed out void/part of the outfit beneath the skirt/above the leggings. I’m still wondering if they purposely left that out, or what the deal was. To me it just looks incomplete when they could have simply made it into a fishnet stocking, or just make it black under garments if they didn’t want to show leg skin.
Any thoughts?

I had this same question. I did log in during wintersday and have since deleted the letter. after learning of the awesome reward of doing it, I decided to try and to it but I havent been able to find grawnk. is this a bug? maybe I was looking in the wrong spots, is there a map of grawnk’s locations?
Grawnk was the grawl tied to the wintersday event, and I’m sure most of the necessary npcs were gone once wintersday ended.
He would have been in your home instance, he never left. It was the cook you had to find for bloodstone food who moved from map to map.
It definitely has to be a light armor skin, since the character is an ele. Just open up the wardrobe, filter it to all light armor, then browse around. Looks like it might be the heritage HoM skin.
Having multiple tools for each character is nothing but convenience if you can afford it. Some people like having matching tools that compliment character looks, so as mentioned above, it’s up to you.
It’d be nice if they’re just taking extra time to make a skin version of the outfit, but surely that might be hoping too much. Never know though, they might surprise.
Fave titles currently: Fashion Collector/ Dark Traveler
I’d like and working to get Grand Artisan, it just describes me best or Closer to the Stars, just has a nice ring to it.
No opinion about anyone else’s.
Disklikes: None currently
Title I’d like if I could make one up: Livin’ On The Edge
If you’re familiar with Dungeons & Dragon games/maps you could always look up names from the map. It’s what I do from time to time if I’m stumped or a specific name is taken.
Not everyone grew up liking or heard of many D&D titles, such as Icewind Dale I & II, Neverwinter Nights (single play, not online), Baldur’s Gate I, II.. etc.
And many of the names are pretty random sounding, but its very unlikely they’re taken either.
Just have anet disable the entire game till they can fix every bug and nit pick by every other person.
Gw2 nowadays: if there’s nothing big to complain about, people will find something little to ruin the game further.
I thought they would of had a sale up for easter by now :/
I dont think they will be back and they sure do know how much demand for them there is.
Yep, and gets people wondering why they’d pass up on so much profit.
Bunny Ears + Aviator Sunglasses = Profit
Seriously Anet, you’d make so much money off of these two items. Bring them back.
Wide Rim Glasses should be included, but yea.
Even if anet makes a way to turn it off, they’ll still look for something else to complain about.
T6 mat bags > more gold in your virtual pocket
Save laurels > go to laurel vendor > buy T6 mat bags > open bags x how ever many laurels you spent > save and sell said T6 mats on TP > wait for gold to accumulate.
Might as well cut every little thing from the game now since everyone’s going to be overly sensitive or offended about every little detail. Way to kill a game for the rest of us who can take a joke.
This + delete all said associated complaint threads.
It’s one day out of the year, people really need to stop QQ’ing and get over it. Not like its a week long event like some others. It’s a simple prank that they do one day each year, April fools day.
And for anyone associating this religiously needs to get a grip. Have you seen your characters when they’re still loading? —> T
People taking things so literally.. have some fun for once.
Just be glad no ones going out and wrapping saran wrap all over your cars.
Another game: Path of Exile also uses something similar if not the same as what’s described. But I too don’t see this needed for gw2 either. Nor would I want someone inspecting my gear/characters, would you? So, I’ll pass.
If someone truly wants to know what item I’m using on a specific character, they can ask me themselves. Otherwise no one wants their characters/account broadcasted publicly.
If it needs to be bought again every 6 months or every year because it has a timer on it to make it economically feasible to ANet, I would be fine with that also.
This would actually seem/be more ‘fair’ for both players and Anet. Allowing free transmutes for X months, till you’ll need to pay another semi-annual fee to have it renewed.
But I’d still buy a perma stone if they made one
+1 vote for this, as one of many peeps who changes hairstyles/colors weekly.. or every couple days, this is one item I’d buy in a heartbeat.
In-game, go to (Game Menu > Options > General Options [first tab] > 5th dropbox down, under User Interface > Select: Disable Personal Story) only works if you have the map completed but that will notify you when there’s an event occurring on your current map.
Is this suddenly Judge Judy forums or something? It’s an apparent bug, simply report it and move on. No need to blow something this small out of proportion.
So much pettiness on these forums..

You don’t have a credit card? It’s invented precisely for this purpose.
Pretty much this ^ just be sure to pay it off right after.
There are more interesting builds to play with than just a GS guardian, I specc’d my first guard to use one of the torch builds and it works nicely. Then I’m building another for GS for other options.
But don’t only look at one build or only the meta, play around with the builds. I’ve ended up making 2 guards, 1 ranger, 1 thief. The thief was the harder of the 3 for me to level up.
Regarding the class and available weps, I preferred the axe and mace over the hammer. The hammer and its associated skills just seemed sub-par in comparison.
The skins looked good, and as some others have noted already: I found the Jalis set more useful than the Mallyx set.
It was interesting to see how the masteries were set up, but seeing as HoT will be an 80+ zone, I suppose its ok how the previous skill points are used for mastery points.
Hot-tips might be needed when introducing the glider though as well as other masteries. (just a suggestion)
As for the fights, I had no connection problems nor did I notice much else regarding fps. It was definitely chaotic at first though.
And the map/area just seemed really restricting, but ofc it’s a stress test.
I also liked how your character was able to actually talk that was cool to see.
I’d recommend waiting to see/hear about the new ones, and the incinerator didn’t look very impressive (for me anyways). Only 2 I’m still considering on getting outta the bunch is Predator and the UW spear.
I too have it, and I did get an invite/confirmation email for HoT. So yea, looks like you’re in.
For a second I thought I was goin to miss out because of work. But 5 – 7pm PST in EST would be 8 – 10pm for me. At least I’ll be able to try it out after a long day ^ ^.
