Skins should never become exclusive in a game. Time, effort and repetitiveness may keep someone from attaining a specific skin/item, but for it to be completely taken out of circulation shouldn’t ever be ‘ok’.
I’ve been playing on and off since day one of launch and that’s my view on it and always will be.
If there’s enough demand for something, then why shouldn’t it be brought back? I honestly couldn’t care less if the next guy had exactly what the first guy has. It’s personal taste and preference that sets each person apart.
Those who wanted the bunny ears got ‘em. I’m still waiting for these to return

I really wish the Fractal Capacitor could have a glider added as an
Anti Gravity Ring Glider. My idea is that upon deploying, the mist essence within the center would expand outward to provide an anti gravity descent and yet be buoyant enough to catch drafts for more lift.
As one of several gliders you have to put effort and time into collecting and piecing together, I believe it too should have a complementary glider as such described above.
Rough (strong emphasis) concept illustration below.
Over in the Bugs sub-forum, someone posted it is caused by AMD drivers. Does everyone who experiences it use AMD?
I’ve learned to stay away from AMD. I have nothing but intel/nvidia products with my PC. So that theory’s outta the window.
^
Yep, saw it too. I was doing that heart and was like holy lights… it even got a lil hard to see the longer I stayed there.
I’ve always had the most fun playing the more non-cookie cutter classes such as Engi, Ranger (out of the box builds) and anything else not the usual sword and shield build.
But different situations call for different builds and you can get burnt out with a certain play style/char build that you’d feel more compelled do change it up and try something different.
Someone has said that if you move the shared slots back to the top of your bag you’ll stop crashing.
Odd, this worked. Dragging and moving the shared slots seems to cause the crash. And thanks for the tip
But that’s definitely something to look into.
Screenshot added.
I can’t go into my Materials tab. Each time I try to open the Mats tab, the whole client crashes to DT.
At first I thought it was a bug involving the Permanent Bank contract, then I went to check the bank and for sure it’s with the bank too.
And this is after this recent update 6/28/16.
Screenshot taken with phone since client crashes.

Wide Rim glasses + Soul Glider (blue one)
No thanks.
Happens to me every other time I’m in a squad during the DS meta. Then upon seeing a 50/50 full map —> “Map is empty, receive a volunteer boon to transfer to a more populated map.” But only dumps me to an even less populated map.
Then I Look at squad map again… 50/50. This really needs to be fixed asap.
The original set of legendaries give you the option to buy, the HoT set doesn’t. So it completely depends on which you’re wanting and how patient you’re willing to be.
With the HoT set, you really don’t have a choice but to make those as you can’t buy the precursor or the finished Legendary from the TP.
I think the consensus here is that we would rather pay $$ for haircuts. I’m glad we made a decision.
Would rather? no. Keep in mind that it’d very likely be required? yes.
Game developers need resources to produce games, patches, updates, etc. Resources are not free as with anything else, so an income or some kind of revenue is needed to fund development and resource to produce.
Cash shop or in-game fees along with hard box/digital purchases exist as highly sought options; unless someone could point out some overly generous game supporter that willingly throws thousands of dollars towards game developments.
Main point to get across is, nothing is free. Something or another requires a cost regardless if time or money. Simple economics.
/facepalm

I think its a HORRIBLE IDEA. If pvp’ers want to start with fractals they should start like everyone else did.
This all day.
When the expansion first came out, it required you to accumulate 400 points. The change now that requires 200 is more than reasonable.
Anymore than that and you’re simply asking for an Easy Button, which would only be dumbing down the game even more than it is. So no thanks.
All you need are 20x 10 points and there’s groups/guilds that do map HP runs. Just join those.
There’s clipping with other things, even armor parts of the same set that even clip with one another. So it’s not like capes would make anything much worse. You even have characters that clip and get stuck in the maps, and everyone’s getting worried about something small like capes clipping.
There’s so much money to be made with capes, you see all the people asking for capes and offering $ for ‘em, but nope. Our money’s no good apparently.
Started a character (Charr ele) based off of game lore and past events,
(Flame Legion/Molten Alliance) even though there’s no default storyline that backs it up or even warrants doing such a thing. (Can’t play as evil/neutral) Always has to be the uppity, steadfast hero.
Just for the tempest shoulder skin. And only because I’m bored out of my mind by the run in the mill ele builds from the RP aspect.
- Salvage Pit
- Flying Circus
- On Wings of Gold
- Ley-Line Run
- Drone Race
- Beetle Feast
- Haywire Punch o Matic
Of these… only one i have been able to get gold one so far is the salvage pit… not even silver one these and other adventures… and the super-mario effect isn’t my idea of fun… to began with
I found Salvage Pit, On Wings of Gold, Drone Race and Beetle Feast particularly easier than the rest. Haywire I managed to get silver, then moved on.
I’m just glad it’s a one time deal with the mini games though after getting gold.
Yep, need them so my toons can get their nerd fix.
As Danikat already mentioned, save all collection items until you’re sure 100% the collection is complete.
Because some collections like from Astralaria collection T4 for instance, you have to collect and combine various parts to make a sort of Astronomy telescope, its by another name, but technically what it is — then use it to chart constellations at specified locations. It’s a neat feature included in the collection that adds a touch of interesting to it
It definitely kept me interested.
They’re certainly capable of doing it – the SAB mace skin is a flail.
That skin is goofy! I just want a normal flail!
Something similar to > this design < perhaps?
I have both classes myself and there’s different aspects of both classes I find ‘fun’. But I mostly pve/solo with ’em unless doing events.
Also, highlighting many of the ‘cons’ to each build will only contribute to why you don’t like a certain class. I have 1 or 2 of each class except the elementalist.
Only reason the ele got the damper on me was after they did that visual patch that dumbed down all the aesthetics of the class, such as Fire Shield, Frost Aura and other such outputs.
But simply looking at what each particular class does best will better help get you liking one or more classes. Some can get boring, but if you’re afraid to experiment with classes, then it’ll only get even more bland.
That 15 min windows how I always remembered it being since day 1 of gw2. Unless someone can prove otherwise via wiki/dates. Best to just track it and have it done unless you plan to make any other characters.
I wish there was a sort of ‘filter’ for the misc/junk items we all find from loot bags. Like what the OP was getting at, but more of a ‘Mawdrey’ item that gives you a drop-list with misc items you can choose to dispose of.
Mini Raccoon (since they eat almost anything or something that sits in your inventory)
- Choose Mini Raccoons diet:
- Unidentified Object
- Mushed Fungus
- Etc
But doesn’t have to be said raccoon, can be a compactor of some kind that’ll dispose of filtered item as it appears in your inventory saving you ALOT of micromanaging.
Wide Rim Glasses
Electromagnetic Descender Glider
Soul River Glider
Even if the Wide Rim glasses still take a while to appear again (like bunny ears), I’d still like a chance to get both of those gliders. I wasn’t around for the Electromagnetic one.
A big solid no. Mounts won’t add anything but more clutter to the game, and there’s too much as it is. And as repeated countless times already, the games design does not need them.
If you can’t take a couple to few minutes to run from one side of a map to another or simply ask for help to get through some maps, then tough luck. If that’s even a problem for anyone.
That’s why you don’t buy off LFG.
Farm them yourself and/or use the Trading Post. You want to save time, you accept the consequences.
Exactly this ^. When trading items that are not meant to be traded or trying to avoid TP fees, you then accept and take responsibility for any possible consequence. If you don’t want that risk, simply do-not-do-it. If you do it, it was your choice and no one else’s.
So you’re only left with the bad choice you made.
Simply learn from it and don’t repeat.
No one can put it in simpler terms.
VB can be a pain when those vine walls go up, but man is TD a nightmare.
I think you mean Auric Basin. Verdant Brink doesn’t have meta related vine walls blocking each section of the map (jungle).
Hey, so I’m trying to make my way to Orr and going through Bloodtide currently and out of the blue this event spawned on me. And not just any ol’ event, it was this racial/story based one. I just never noticed it till now.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Kill_the_Risen_commander_to_avenge_Tybalt
I’m not sure when it was implemented, but it sure was surprising to run into, and that a Risen mentioned Tybalt.
“Risen Commander: We’re sending you to shake hands with Tybalt!”
Risen Commander points at character name.
For me, it’s these kind of events that catch my eye even after so long. /quality
There’s npcs on broom sticks zooming through LA, so it’s not hard to believe that there might be npc’s with other such gemstore items.
You do realize that you’d be losing overall experience points towards any mastery progression you may be currently leveling if they implemented your suggestion, yea?
Hero points being character bound as opposed to account bound provides additional exp, as with character map completion/exploration. Despite how little exp it is you’re getting, it’s still better than none at all.
Not only that, but new players and anyone who simply wants more than 1 of the same class would be robbed of exp as well. There’s a reason some things like masteries are account bound and map-related things such as POI’s/WPs are not.
I think right now they’re just doing this to promote Leagues, spread awareness, get players curious about getting that icon!
I’m hopeful they will change it in the future.
That may’ve worked IF they hadn’t upset a majority of players by toning down, dimming and making animations/skill near invisible.
^
I can read it just fine. And pretty appalled by all these recent ‘so-called’ fixes. The game’s getting more ruined as we go. /smh
And nerf everything else you haven’t already touched. (@Anet) Mass nerfs for everything and everyone.
dang, 400+votes 72% TD
Tangled Depths 73%
It’s like a massive maze-like-jump puzzle, with chak every 10ft spitting at you making it feel like you’re walking in a bog with multiple levels.
You’ll need to fill your exp bar doing VB and AB events until you can unlock the Nuhoch Wallows mastery. Till then, getting around Tangled Depths will be a nightmare to navigate around for you.
It’s a headache getting around TD even with the necessary masteries.
Same. They dumped a whole lot of nerfs and so-called balances to the market before and after HoT released. T6 mats prices took a dive all the same.
Then dungeons are dead, and they’re more focused on promoting raids but to get further in raids you’ll need ascended gear. And the prices for the mats to make each kind of set skyrocketed since then.
Now with them admitting they’re openly encouraging gem to gold conversions.. I’m only counting down the days before I end up having to move on to another game.
A cardboard cutout of Eve from GW1 also makes an appearance in the show.
Someone is a fan of the franchise maybe?
Hah, “Shoplifters will be vaporized.”
I hope they leave bundle as is. Buy it or don’t. Bundling products is a way of life. Do consumers whine about items bundled with purchases involving cars, groceries, or electronics?
People complain about outfits, but they’d buy this one IF it wasn’t bundled. People complain about gem store glider skins, but they’d buy this one IF it wasn’t bundled. Oh sure you would.
Consumer and customer has the RIGHT to be choosy and selective, it’s all a part of economics. And I most definitely won’t pay for extra things that I don’t need or want when it’s perfectly fair to sell it individually.
Would you pay for extra car seat covers, cup holders, tires and a few extra batteries along with a car you might purchase in the future – and all those together just to justify some obnoxious price? I highly doubt it. This is no different.
It’s simply being selective and a smart spender. Because I’ve worked pretty -kitten- hard for my money. And no one will ever tell me how to spend it or what I should spend it on.
I logged in the first time tonight with no real problems, just continuous loading. Then I logged out and keep getting this:
(Picture below)
I know 100% for a fact that my log in is correct because I’ve never changed or altered it, yet for some reason it’s saying my info is incorrect. What’s the problem now?
I too was looking forward to getting the glider. I had zero interest in either the mini as I don’t collect many and the outfit also does not interest me at all. So keeping the glider separate would’ve won me over.
But with the current trend being these bundles and additional items I have no interest in or don’t need nor wish to fork out cash for; I’ll sadly have to say no.
I’ve invested a considerable sum to clearly indicate I can choose for myself what I want or need and don’t need bundles. And like others, I won’t dump that much (2k gems) just to get 1 item. So again, no thanks.
Before you’re able to unlock Elite Specializations, you need to max out all your skill trees/traits and base class specializations.
Then once you’ve unlocked it, you’ll need to gather as many Hero Points (1 in core/base game) – (10 Hero Points in expansion maps). In order to unlock the first specialization trait, you’ll need ~30 hero points, from then on it’ll be somewhere between 10 and 20ish. Totaling to 250 hero points to unlock the entire specialization.
And masteries can only be unlocked by exp points from doing events/hearts/story. Tomes won’t help with any of it. After level 80, tomes will only give you Spirit Shards.
A combination of saving mats, buying others, repeat. The chest of my heavy ascended though I acquired through the luminescent collection, then crafted the rest.
Before the expansion rolled out, I had my light ascended made up first, followed by heavy, then mid. Currently waiting to finish the last 5 pieces of the mid set – gloves/boots/helm/shoulders/leggings.
I normally hate asking for any donation or freebie and would rather earn it myself, but if someone was feeling generous, I have been interested in the old Dreamthistle Longbow Skin for this new sylvari toon I’m currently building.
I eventually plan to unlock the legendary crafting for Astralaria as it’d also match the theme. (I know what I’m getting myself into.)
If someone were to fulfill this, I’d appreciate very much.
If you scroll down to the very bottom of the gw2 wiki, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Monthly, they removed the monthly achievements end of last year/ beginning of this year to be replaced with the daily log-in rewards.
To me it looks like they have the dates backwards though.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Monthly
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Login_rewards
- The monthly achievement was discontinued starting January 1st 2015.
- Login rewards were introduced with the December 16th, 2014 update as part of the new Daily reward system.
For Astralaria, here’s most of all you’ll need (visual list of components):
The (3) question marks at the top symbolize the precursor that has yet to be discovered, and 2 other components/gifts undiscovered (mapped out using the wiki).
We just had another successful map (NA) about 15-20 mins ago they took a map/group screenshot, so someone may be posting it on here or reddit, but woo. Glad to get my rev headpiece out of the way finally.
I had to sacrifice watching Walking Dead for it, it’s taped though.
