Update for me*
I exhausted all the possible fixes except for disabling my antivirus. I did that not long ago and I was able to log on/play and access the TP with no crash. So do consider your antivirus as a possible culprit for the crashes.
Tried the nopatchui thing, just get to a black screen and nothing happens.
Did the same. I got as far as the loading screen before character selection, then freezes to send an error report then completely shuts down the client.
Same crash error here :c
I’ve tried the troubleshoot, but nothing has worked. So yea, same situation as everyone who’s posted so far.
Hi, I’m currently looking for a good (mature)/experienced and flexible guild to join. One that enjoys doing dungeons, FoTM, events/META on a weekly basis. And most of all simply helping around and taking care of its members/keeping things interesting.
- I’ve been in and out of several guilds already, mostly due to the guild losing inactivity.
The previous guild I was in had some drama issues that drove me out.
(I have enough things to deal with irl, definitely don’t need drama in this game)
- I’m not a new gamer by any means, I’ve been playing since launch but only having to go AFK with some important issues irl and with work. I am working full time however so I won’t be able to play for very long hours. I’m pretty familiar with most of the dungeons/FoTM levels and JPs unless they’ve changed some content. I can help with WvW but it’s not my cup of tea. And I’m not really into PVP (like at all).
- I also have 3 almost 4x lvl 80s. Only because I play with my favorites and I think its pretty pointless making every character possible.
- I am familiar with Vent and TS3.
My timezone is (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
- Also if need be, I’ll be able to transfer to whichever home server.
You can buy them off of the TP also. So if you’re worried you won’t get the 10 you need in time, you can always buy them. It might cost some gold, but it’s quicker.
10?
Yes, you need 10 of the same cores whether it be Dynamic, Static or Synergetic to make the colored backpeice. See here

Why would going afk be categorized as botting? What if someone just so happened to pass out for staying up for long hours at a time and just suddenly crashed, leaving their game up.
Or they could possibly be experiencing technical problems/frozen game/lag etc.
And I hope you’re aware people with children do play this game as well, and life happens.
Same here, did the run like 3 different times, blue>red>green, blue>red>green, blue>green>red, not one loot box for any of the kills.
Hardly matters much anymore though, I’ve since then finished the story and got the necessary 15/15 achievements.
I finally killed her by —
- teleporting to her, while dodging the mines
- casting timewarp on her
- dodging the big AOE attack
- then running back up to her with mantra of concentration and doing the finisher
Good riddance.
Same here, I reported it ingame as well.
Hi, we all know we’re able to transmute legendary skins onto alt characters.
The question I’m wondering however is, if you use a transmutation crystal to transfer the skin over — when you begin to level your new character with that skin, as you level up, would you need to use a splitter each time to upgrade the stats OR can you simply use multiple transmutation stones (the yellow ones) as you progress in levels, then use a splitter to get the original legendary + stats back once you hit level 80?
Thanks in advanced.
You get the item back that serves as skin (Legendary) and the item that provides the stats, so yes, you can use transmutation stones ot lvl with your legendary.
That’s what I was hoping, same as the armor skins. Didn’t wanna mess it up or lose it without making sure first, thanks

This style of dungeon would actually be the 2nd after they introduced Tower of Nightmares. Since it was a large instanced zone ’n all. But agree, I enjoy this style much more.
It was also a nice surprise to get the monthly done so quickly after noticing these runs/raids counted towards dungeon completion.
Is the content in LA going to be isntanced?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: mXz.4512
What I’m wondering is if the storyline as you progress into LA will be moved to somewhere else. Surely people are at different points of the story and it’d seem kinda awkward if LA gets destroyed while they’re just meeting their mentors for the first time, or going through the battle of claw island.
Same deal here. Ever since the start of the Origins of Madness update, every other time I open the BLTC it stalls and the client crashes. Extremely annoying..
Everything was perfectly fine during Wintersday, so seems like some kind of conflict with this particular update. And using vista OS here if that’s any relevancy.
I did some looking around and saw that sometime between last year and earlier this year, the rune of the pack was bugged. I’d like to know if it still is or if they’ve fixed it?
Also, I’m aware that each rune depends on whatever build we have going, but what’s the usually preferred runes used for mesmer builds? I saw for dps it’d be ruby orbs, for speed, rune of the centaur — but I’d like to find out if the rune of the pack has been fixed as it gives 90power/100prec/20%swiftness bonus.
I’d really like to see the ability to dye weapons just as our armors.
I guess implemented as weapon dyes perhaps using some kind of inverted dye color to differentiate from armor dyes.
(Just a concept idea)
Capes/cloaks sure, and for mounts.. my answer will always be no.
My mesmer after her makeover. I decided to go for a more Royal Canthan | rich schoolgirl look.
Only thing I saw this was used for was the queen’s jubilee.. it seems so out of occasion being offered now at random.
Same as some of the responses. There’s more important things that need to be addressed, and a long list of other things I’d much rather see make it into the game. Mounts however is not one of ’em.
And waypoints are much more convenient when traveling long distances in a short time. It’s more immersive vs. riding on the back of something, at least in this game.

Not sure how well it’d look on other races, but if they released the skin for it I’d definitely buy a set. It’d look amazing on my mesmer, but strangely looks nice on my guardian too..
It probably wouldn’t make sense to make it for medium and heavy armors though.
8/10 for the serious, cut throat look. Still not used to the new faces yet though.
_______
Here’s my guardian. Aside from my mesmer, I adore and love to spoil her. nerd toggle off
/nvm found 2x opening presents :o
but yea, as far as appearing the TP, I haven’t seen any. I’ll be selling any extras I find though.

The whole thing about how the phalanx armor looks on the female versus the male is entirely subjective. You may think it looks horrible on female characters but awesome on males. It doesn’t mean they should change it for everyone otherwise risk upsetting various other people.
I for one love how it looks on my female guardian. And I think it looks just as good on male characters, so I see no valid reason for them to change it. Not to mention I bought the set for how it looks on my fem guardian. If you or anyone doesn’t accept how they made it look for female characters, simply don’t use it.
Same way I’m not enthusiastic about the phalanx helm on female characters, I’d prefer the male helm for both genders. So I simply refuse to use it.
Likely just my guard. GS, Staff, Shield and likely full armor set (reskinned).
Then just an ascended staff on my mesmer.
My engi, still a long ways away.
They’ve been on the TP eversince last wintersday. Bought one myself a few days back.
how much karma per run you get from fotm?
That was only because they took the human light T3 armor… if they’d released all races’ cultural armors in one go, I’m sure no one would’ve complained because everyone had been treated the same. And style versatility in how you gear up your char must be a positive thing.
Anyhow – why isn’t cultural armor possible to buy across races, the cultural weapons are?
Some logic conundrum right there…
Souvenirs maybe? regardless, I’d bet if they made all cultural armor universal it’d still cause just as much upset for many people. Otherwise why even bother to make it cultural to begin with?
And I’m wondering if people even think charr or asuran armor would even look ‘ok’ on humans or slyvari, or vice versa. Asuran armor being too small, and charr armor having tail slots. Humans, sylvari or asuran don’t have tails… and wouldn’t even look right.
What I’m getting at is cultural armor should not be a one size fits all. Anyone can wield a weapon, that’s why they aren’t as restricted. It’d be like going to Hawaii and buying tribal weapons there, but since they’re human aswell, it doesn’t hurt to buy clothes either.
Now lets take a step into fantasy, if you were to visit a charr colony, you could buy an armor set, sure.. doesn’t mean you’d be able to wear it — one, it’d be too heavy, and just the form/shape is just too different.
Angel Wings!!! If even just dyeable Dragon Wings for my Guild since Angels is in the name.
Armor Bleach. Yes, bleach! Since I’ve spent the insane amount of money on Celestial on multiple characters, only to be incredibly disappointed on the results. Especially on the light armor embroidered pants, with the ankles all dirty and all. Also, the medium Duelist armor that looks like you’re wearing a dull greyish diaper material or something. Thus, I’d like some new armor of similar fashion or bleach!
If they’re coming out with deity items such as Grenth’s hood, you’d think a pair of Dwayna’s wings as a backpiece would be no problem. After that I wouldn’t be too surprised if they came out with other such items, like something Balthazar, Melandru, etc.
Something like this statue may be a bit too big. Perhaps sized down like the tequatl wings. But I’d definitely buy a pair if they made it.
I’d really like for something like this to be possible, like in gw1.
Some of the weapon handle/hilts just don’t match some of the color schemes I prefer. Like Sunrise for instance.. it has a golden hilt whereas sometimes I feel like dyeing my armor a more metallic/white or other colors that simple don’t match gold too well.
So being able to dye it some base colors like silver/abyss/and other primary colors would be a nice change.
Are you referring to something similar to this?
Not wanting to redo your traits from scratch everytime you reset ’em, just switch it from setup to setup.
If any kind of aura/special effect were to be considered and implemented, I’d rather it stays in the gemstore. Something solely for character customization, watery/icy/stone churning footsteps, golden glow aura, etc. Similar to what those wind/fire/lightning catchers display without the backpiece.
Only thing about it that worries me is it’ll make it look like everyone suddenly has a legendary. And might cause the style to get old, quick.
Just posted in a similar thread in BLTC forum:
I’d like it to be done using dungeon tokens:
AC: Blue ghostly.
CM: Golden.
TA: Leaves
SE: Red electric.
CoF: Fkitteneen.
HoW: Frost.
CoE: Electric.
Arah: Dark smoke.
All just light particle effects, as we saw. No major changes between types, but a cool way to “upgrade” and customise your armour through gameplay. If they absolutely NEED to have it be gemstore, then cool. But they could just sell it as a character unlock. As in, you pay gems, and then have the ability to use tokens to customise your armour as much as you want on that character/account.
I suppose it’d work for dungeon themes too.

Orr temples is a good source of them. Especially if you’re in chain temple run, 30 dragonite ore per temple. Otherwise world bosses in general are usually known to drop them, but of course its per day.
Use gw2stuff.com to see which servers are doing temple runs and guest over there. Been doin that myself recently.
Hey everyone.
Some reason I remember seeing on here a suggestion that involved saving your current trait configuration, however I searched and didn’t see one.
I think it’d be helpful and quite convenient being able to save your trait setups and possibly having up to 3-5 different specialization slots to simply swap back and forth between. While still being able to change them at any time like you can now.
Example:
Spec 1 > WvW configuration
Spec 2 > Dungeon configuration
Spec 3 > General Pve configuration
Spec 4 > Pvp configuration …etc.
Have something like that in a drop down list style so you don’t have to go back and try remembering each time which trait(s) you were using before. And being changeable any given time.
Currently if you were to change your traits, you have to pay a small silver fee in order to refund and change your traits. That shouldn’t change, but instead of refunding all of your trait points (unless chosen to do so) it’ll simply allow you to change your configuration from Spec 1 to Spec 3 or 4, so on.

Edit
In addition to the trait spec slots, by default they would be numbered 1-5, but able to be renamed as: Pvp setup, Wvw setup, Pve setup, etc.

Overall, it should be relatively simple and time saving.
Below is a rough visual example of what I had in mind.
Any feedback is welcome, lemme know what you think.

I definitely hope to see Elona and Cantha make a return. New places are nice ‘n all, but the prior starting places hold too much memory. It’d be lost profits to drop those from any future content.
I completely agree in general karma should be increased/ brought back in improved ways if not the way it was.
The only ways I see to gain karma is through dynamic events/ dungeons/ wvw.
I’m excluding fractals because apparently you have to be lower levels to attain it.
(according from what I’ve seen myself)
Also, keep the karma jugs out of the daily if need be, if it was removed to begin with because so many people were ignoring the other ways to gain karma, increase karma gained through those ways instead as opposed to completely minimizing to how it is now.
But all this grind just to earn less than 500 karma per event is ridiculous. And running Tequatl relying on chance that the event might succeed isn’t enough. If this game was supposed to be casual player friendly, it’s definitely not seeming like it.
No….. just no
That is all.
Dont use it. nobody forces you to. Its optional to those who are not interested in Leveling.
Do you force people to PvP in every MMO and pretty much every RPG, since its in just about every MMO as well?
Every game developer/company wants people/its fans to actually play their game and its content, not faceroll and breeze through it. Otherwise, what would be the point in spending money making that game?
Sure people will always find the route of least resistance, shortcuts or ways to skip content but the game developer is responsible for those. However, giving someone an easy way from level 1 to 80 instantly is completely contradicting in the whole purpose of making a game itself. Leveling is one mechanic for every MMO, if it gets old too quick for someone, tough luck, find another genre to get into.
And forcing people to play a game is a generalization. It’s understandable that some people prefer one content over another, but completely skipping to endgame makes people more inclined to complain more that they’re bored. My answer to that will always be go back and actually play the game for what it was made for instead of skipping everything.
It’s coincides with work, employers want to see you put forth an effort, not sit around getting paid by the hour.
They removed it because their trial at getting quick bucks from cultural armour blew up in their faces.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Cultural-Human-T3-Not-Exclusive/page/11#post3275237
Well now its just made the other side angry too so removing it is blowing up in their face too.
Only they aren’t also ruining the game at the same time and are actively trying to fix/amend things for everyone. So just wait ’n see what they come up with.
Sorry, but this would be a terrible idea. It’d only ruin the game and promote laziness. No thanks. If you want quick levels, bring a character into wvw and level up there. But for the sake of honest hard work/grinding whatever you may call it, do not make an easy button such as this.
All I have to say.
I definitely do NOT want this. We need more race and profession specific stuffs, not less.
Agree with this ^ 100%+
Take out the uniqueness from the game, it gets dull really quick. Then everyone will be wearing what the next guy or race has. Just one mass look alike, ew.
If they had kept the flamekissed armor, it would’ve ruined the game even more (no more exclusive T3 human cultural armor). Then they would’ve had to make all cultural armor > universal armor because at this point any race could wear whatever they wanted.
Furthermore, they would’ve lost so much player support going this route with so many people feeling cheated as they did and thus the game would slowly decline and wither.
They won’t be able to make everyone happy, as the usual, but at least they wouldn’t be breaking/going against the game they initially created.
Only way to get to ascended crafting is to power craft your way to it if you don’t find the rest fun or interesting. You’ll get most of the levels through discovering new recipes, but for the overall of it, you’ll find normal/fast guides online that’ll help with it.
I’m at 500 weaponsmith myself and it was well worth the grind. The textures on the ascended stand out alot compared to others (not as much as legendaries but still). Just gotta deal with it if it’s something you really want.
Gonna just drop in here and leave a hearty “No.”
Same ^ ..just no.
I can see so many people consider leaving this game for good if they do anymore of that.
If they did this, and deem the work so many people (and myself) have gone or going through just to make their legendaries pointless.. I would straight up quit and uninstall this game in a heartbeat.
That’s an even bigger slap in the face than this armor commotion.
Same here, I’m pretty upset that the devs went this route. If they wanted to refurbish fractals content, how about armor more related to fractals? Such as.. instead of fractal weapons, make an exclusive version of fractal armor perhaps?
I’m pretty sure many people would be more excited about that instead of just taking already existent and race exclusive armor and adding fire to it.
I’d even be anxious myself to spend gems on a fractal skin armor. It’d give everyone a taste of things later to come. But just taking already existent armor (T3 cultural, Wvw armor, Pitfighter-masterwork) and just adding effects to it doesn’t make it anymore special.
This update is a let down, sad to say.
Another concern would be consoles becoming obsolete overtime. People can constantly upgrade PCs anytime for more high-end performance which will end up leaving people with year+ old consoles struggling to keep up.
Combining a pc game on consoles may have worked before, but it can be ridiculously tedious to do now, same goes for games such as Diablo 3 for Ps4. It might be nice for the first few years or so, but eventually the pc version will leave it dead in the water.
I’d rather stick to this version instead of throwing money away buying each new generation of consoles just to keep up with times.
