I am really enjoying how leveled and even this matchup is!

Oh I did something I’ve not done before: Invited the enemy into my party last night. I saw the lone defender having lfg up. I had to try something. I popped open my contact screen (y) and checked looking for group, and then I invited him. Whereupon I greeted him with:

“Hello there!
I am the person in the Golem punching your door”

He left the party and I cried a little

I am sorry that our “Strong night team” ( 10 people <3 ) too much of the mapthis morning. I am however glad that it is so even in this match-up.

As of tonight we are starting to host introduction runs to WvW on Far Shiverpeaks.

It is part of a long lasting effort to introduce our larger PvE population to WvW, and it is going to be a lot of fun.

5v20+ is a bold move for sure I always thought the advantage of having a keep is that you are somewhat protected while defending. This doesn’t seem the case with GW2 as I have to stand on the very edge of a wall to get off a shot.

I do like the arrow cart inside the front gate as i have never seen that one. Your view must be pretty obstructed to fire? That would cover the same area as a cata just inside the gate firing at rams?

It basically kills the rams quicker.

And stop trying to stand on the wall and firing without an arrowcart, unless you’re a necromancer, or an elementalist, I’d say.

Tip of the day: Make sure to have a party of 5 with you that you can trust.

Make a good decision for when to push out, if you can and attack.

Also arrowcart on hte floor infront of the gate is pretty good, but I tend to not teach enemies this

Maybe your own team was. I’ve not seen anyone from FSP doing it tbh.

There’s a limit within each area on the map as well as a maximum limit for the entire map.

Build siege units in strategic places. There are spots that can’t be hit (easily)
I could probably show you 1-4 of those spots in any single tower.

Place siege a lot and often, you will learn what works.

2-4 people can easily defend against like 20-30 people with the strategically placed arrow carts and possibly a catapult as well.

We are not an Australian guild by any means we are however International and are now looking to fill our ranks with a few more Oceanic players. Since we love diversity, and have members that play all hours of the day, no matter where they live, this way we get just a overall better activity in the guild.

We are currently looking to strengthen our numbers with Oceanic players to get a more 24hr coverage. We already have players in a lot of different timezones, and even the players within those timezones play very non primetime hours of the day, so we’d just want to get more company for those hours..

Currently prime time weekend (CET) gives about 40 online members, prime time weekdays 30+, night time 5-15, morning/midday 10-25.

We have players in the at least 2 of the US timezones, we have a few Australian players and people in all the European timezones (including +4 GMT).
However, our European night time is decently covered, and we feel that a few Australian/NZ/Oceanic players would fit well into our overall composition!

Last thing before reset I commandeered a Zerg to take over a fully upgraded Garrison on the Red map in our matchup for my love to get his last Vista. Which gave him world completion.

Oh and about “Both servers attacking my server” – everyone will feel that way, in any matchup. That’s the feeling you get when there’s 1vs1vs1.

Now it’s only the weekend, so it is going to be interesting to see what the week brings!

@Same : every VS player that knows WvW isn’t complaining, wasn’t complaining, and won’t be complaining. We know how the game works and what you said is so true : We are far from the most skilled (i’d say it’s AS) but we are consistent and we play the long term.

All in all, don’t pay attention to some random big mouthed forum players.

Unfortunately our dedicated few got discouraged by waiting for the patch to download, and the ticks keepd counting while everyone was “Out updating” which means FS lost the lead they had. :/

I do however believe that we’ll either “come back in force” this matchup, or go to sleep and take a holiday. Depends on how the events behave.

A lot of good things are going.

It can’t be that hard can it? I mean if we even can get random people on Far Shiverpeaks to ge the event going, why can’t Desolation? :P

I’m pretty sure that Anet is going to release a separate chest instead of having the BLC drop holiday items. After the whole thing with Halloween I doubt they would want to repeat that mistake again.

Not repeating the mistake again, would be making the DROPRATES better! In those Chests, to clear the market from them with each holiday season!

Personally I know exactly why I’m staying at FSP, then again people might see me as a bit too invested in the server (With helping with the community forum and so forth).

I would have had my Commander title if I could have bought it for 1million karma sooner than I ended up getting it.

You know that red have the Tree Spirit Champion by Speldan, that also give a chest just like Grub,
And that supposedly have one around their area as well?

Just saying, there are 3 Champs on that map that all gives a chest with badges

Seasonal loot in the Black Lion Chests!

I really want it to be in the black lion chests for several reasons:
1. I have a bunch of keys! (48 atm aiming for at least 50 for when I start opening chests)
2. It helps level out the economy and clear out stuff. Especially right now with the Comendations, that you can get with the donation packaging and gear items that otherwise would be sold at 1c over vendor price. And it would sell Black Lion Chests on the TP and not just rot away in people’s inventories.

However I can see a good compromise;
Have it in the black lion chests at a droprate divided by the difference in gem price for the Event chests in the gem store, and the black lion keys. That way people can choose which they prefer.

Since I’m personally in love with the Black LIon chests, I want to use them, I refused to get any of the Consortium Chests because the concept really kitten me off.

ANet you know you Screwed up with the Halloween chests, you had a chance to fix it for Lost Shores, and now you seem to be botching it again.

Why have something in the game that people will recon useless, especially when there’s gems involved in using them?

I still love the chests, but I wont open them until I get more incentive and I keep saving keys in any way I can.

I’ve been doing the same, I assume they will do what they did with the Southsun Cove event, have Wintersday chests in the store and add stuff to the Black Lion Chest so you can get holiday stuff in multiple ways.
Would be nice if we could get some confirmation though, probably won’t open any till some proof shows up.

You said transferring is not a problem, and you’d be joining as 3 friends. It really sounds like we’re the place for you over on Far Shiverpeaks.
Dynasty Warriors can offer you a 70 daily active members (170 in total) guild with a casual PvX focus with an active WvW team. We also have an up and coming sPvP team which I believe can become quite strong.

As a community DW has been around for 9 years now, and we’ll be celebrating 10 years together with our members next year, maybe with a meetup (just had that idea!). During these years we’ve turned in to quite a mature guild, but we still kid around a lot and have fun together.
We’ve gone from Multi-gaming to GW1 to a break to GW1 and to GW2.

In the past 2 weeks we’ve recruit quite a lot of members which has increased our activity a lot. Some of these members joined as groups of friends or couples (11, 6 and 7). We have at least 30 members online at our primetime. And with a lot of international members we have at least 5 people on all times of the day.

We have an up and coming NA commander, which will be hosting the night crew on our server from 3-6am CET. Whereupon I will be taking over at either 6 or 7AM most mornings. A lot of our members play WvW through half the night anyways.

Also the server provides a community guild for people who play off hours in WvW, which would be perfect for you guys to find people to play with in.

Jak asked me to supply you with some more information. I had not checked this thread before since it was directed to be about UW, AG and Piken. However, since Jak already hijaked (pun totally intended) it for me I can give you some further info.

Right now, Far Shiverpeaks is dropping, not as a hot potato but pretty far and pretty quick. We’ve been going through a new tier on our way down every week since we dropped out of t1, with the exception of t5 where we went up to t4, to drop again, and now we’re in t6. (Short version).

Yes a lot of guilds bandwagoned here at launch. A lot of the people with Bandwagon attitude have however left now, to bandwagon elsewhere, to servers like Blacktide and SFR (Who’ll be battling it out in t1 next week most likely).

As far as organization and remaining guilds on FSP is going, tomorrow we have a short notice meeting among us about the status of our WvW, how we can get back into some sort of shape, and probably if we’re taking a “christmas break”. We are at a point now where we know that the people that have stuck around through this are here to stay.
On the server we supply a guild (as a tool) for commanders to be able to get in touch with each other quickly to ask for reinforcements on different maps and to build up a connection between us. Always easier to work with people you know.
I am in no way the leader of Far Shiverpeaks, more like a spider in the web, with a lot of things going on that I help out with.
We also have a guild (CIA) that is a tool for people who play a lot at night/early mornings/midday in WvW where they can make friends and parties and basically the same function as the Far Shiverpeaks Commanders guild.

I personally put a lot of effort into Far Shiverpeaks, and was dropped the forum and our only WvW related Alliance in the lap as others left. Even this Alliance suffered from guilds leaving (about 6 of em), but the core that’s still here is really focused on getting back on track both as guilds and as an Alliance.

From the Alliance we do not believe that anyone needs to be in the Alliance to cooperate with us, and we work hard on building relationships with the other existing guilds on the servers. It works better some days than others.

Anyways, if you want to come over and scout us out for a week or two, we do welcome you.

Anyways, I come from Dynasty Warriors which came over to GW2 from GW1 and is a 9yr old community. We however survived the entrance of Ascendant gear (I actually do not know one member that left because of it)
With GW2 we have however recruited a lot of new members, almost 150 of them. And we have an active guild all hours of the day, even if we’re based in EU. We are international so our main language is always English in the gchat.

You will find us very social and we joke about a lot.

I was thinking that, since we have quite a large community already (maybe 30 people online at any given time on CET prime time), you might want to get introduced to a few of our members first, either via joining a dungeon or completing a zone or leveling a lowbie character. I’m a representative of the guild Dynasty Warriors over on Far Shiverpeaks (EU server). We’re an international casual PvX guild, with an active WvW team and an up and coming sPvP team.

We’re a very social guild, and we have people from all over really. We are heavy with Scandinavians and Belgian/Dutch people tho. But still plenty of room for other EU, NA and AU people.

With our guild being active in WvW it means we always have players in there that you can either hook up with in gchat, or via a whisper to ask them if you can join. It really isn’t harder than that. In the evening (CET) we have about 15-20 people in WvW without arranging a WvW event!

One of our officers is an German in Exile in Norway, who’ll probably make you feel right at home.
