Miranda Zero – Ele / Twitch Zero – Mes / Chargrin Soulboom – Engi
Aliera Zero – Guardian / Reaver Zero – Necro
You all need to remember this is a f2p game ( buying once) which gives us FREE content, it is a very new look on producing an MMORPG.
No it isn’t.
Why is the TP which is not something the game was marketed for, or promoted for, the main means of achieving endgame goals?
And why is item obtaining designed around TP merchant playstyles and earning.
I’d really like a comment on these questions from John Smith or an actual gameplay dev seeing as how it relates to gameplay. Similar comments have been brought up many times in the past without any comment.
I’m all for giving engdame items out for skilled play btw, i’m 100% behind doing that. But again, it would be out of reach of the average/casual player unless they dedicated their ig time to improving/doing what they needed to do.
Yeah well anet has made comments about trying to get players to improve, this would be the way. Plus if they actually did it they’d have far less criticism.

I agree with the OP, its just another fail part of this patch.
So i went from having 3 major traits on a lvl 40 character to 1 major trait … what?
One thing that I don’t think has been emphasised is the effect of taking low level characters into WvW. If its taking away half the health of some low level characters then no-one will be able to afford to take one into WvW until 80.
Well, on a brighter note, the price of charges is at least reasonable.
Not IMHO, ppl will be using charges a lot more than they used stones or crystals, therefore the price should have been significantly lower than even stones. They will make more money from these sales, gouging us in the process.
I hadn’t thought of that. Why do you suppose they’d use them ‘more’? I don’t envision using them more, well, at least at 80.
They’ve made it more convenient to change the look, so I would think people would change their look more frequently.

On top of this it wants a charge for every dye change too. If this isn’t a bug ANet just seriously screwed us. Gonna test later to see if stones are at least still farmable from map completion. Barring that I’m out until this gets reverted.
people need to calm down, look at the cost. it says 0
Well thats utterly stupid UI then.
You guys just didn’t understand. It was obvious you’d have to pay each time, just like the current system. No reason for anet to give up such a huge source of their income.
I think you misunderstand the OP he was trying to re-equip an item already transmuted, hence he was charged for trying to equip an item.
All I can say is, for ANet as a company, they are trying to fix a mistake they made when the game was designed.
They aren’t really fixing it they have just thought of a way to monetise it whilst appearing to give players what they want.
Oh yes – loads of FedEx quests and not much else. Artificial barriers preventing the player from truly exploring the world of Tamriel (the very essence of EVERY ES game) and some of the most laughable, phoned-in voice acting I’ve heard in years.
There are very very few ‘fedex’ quests and the voice acting is the best in any mmo apart from swtor. The quest storylines are actually in general probably the best written of any mmo I’ve played. Then there’s the PvP which is a far better implementation of RvR than WvW.
Btw, map politics (what was happening in week 1) is not the same as organized 2v1. Map politics = BGBL, BG having to fight TC from taking NE tower, so JQ hits NW tower. That is map politics and working as intended. The situation we have now as described above is not map politics, but just plain unsportsmanlike.
So you whinge about JQ becoming the dominant server, now that thats been proved false you move on to whinge about perfectly legitimate tactics being used against the server that did overstack yet again. Whats next?
Also good luck finding a game better or even close to what gw2 is.
Already playing one, especially the RvR aspect, and my time in GW2 is drawing to a close as a result.
No you must participate in WvW and get the Mist Runner title to get the Mistforged Hero Weapon. It’s not just based on your server winning.
If your server finishes below 5th you can’t get one.
The season 1 chest wasn’t very good. You didn’t miss much.
Its the principle of it.
How can the system be more fair than this? You’re asking Anet to make the system unfair towards people who learned how to play the game better than you, so that you can feel better.
Except the TP isn’t the game.
Anyone remember Josh, last I recall he popped on to say hi as the new WvW community thingy?
It was pretty clear that Josh is no longer doing that WvW job when Allie started posting but now she’s gone……………..
But no communication from anyone at anet about it.
Colin has requested this? What about the CDi threads? What about the requests from Josh and Allie?
At this point anet know what players want, this sounds like just more delaying tactics.
Great video, I wish I was in Nocturnal, its seems you guys get so many bags!
I might finally get a precursor if I join you guys!
Appearances can be deceiving.
For those complaining about the matchups for the season (especially silver league)… what would be better?
No leagues, like I said before its forcing people into playing a competititor. How is that desirable?
Well, honestly, should Anet really devote a lot of resources to WvW when just a fraction of the actual population plays WvW?
Doing nothing would be preferable to leagues. Concentrating on QOL changes is what they should be doing.
Leagues are just making it easier for me to play TESO.
I’ve got a solution, don’t have leagues. Its not built for it. Implement some of the stuff they are doing in sPvP in WvW. Seriously its almost unbelievable that we have 7.5 weeks more of this kitten.
The way TESO does phasing makes that world seem more living than GW2 despite it being less of an open world.
In TESO you get credit for the damage done by allies you heal, this is the way it should have been in GW2.
I noticed SoS is in Tier 1 but getting completely destroyed. Any reasons why SoS does great in tier 2 but when ever SoS competes in T1 they lose?
Coverage, why are you even asking such an obvious question?
that’s exactly what’s beyond my ability to understand A.Net move: they are rewarding opportunism, bandwagoning and poor organization with victory, while other servers that spent months working on improving get a pat on their shoulders.
This!
Call me a hopeful, but I agree that this is a very possible scenario. Regardless of what WvW has seen, you have to admit that they do listen to the community as a whole and are making an effort to see changes go into the game.
Where are the changes to the commander grouping system then? Something which has been requested ever since the beta weekends.
Hold on a sec here. People are trying to compare the loot systems of Diablo 3, an ARPG dungeon crawler focusing on vertical progression, with GW2, an MMORPG with ARPG elements focusing on horizontal progression?
GW2 does not focus on horizontal progression. It was supposed to but that fell by the wayside. The new feature patch will help but it still focuses on vertical progression.
OK ok , seriously now….
How do you expect to address a current tactic of hopping to “X” city/map and getting or recruiting help for your server to save objectives with the new megaservers?
We won’t be able to do it. All cities will be included in the megaserver. This would not have even been thought of by anet.
Their model is similar to the unworkable vanilla D3 model. They have conceived of GW2 as a circle trading game rather than a game where we experience the joy of actually finding loot. There is hope however as D3 ROS, with loot 2.0, rocks and is the game I am currently playing.
Yep I really like the way D3 does loot now.
I was showing some friends the game and they seemed to like it until they asked about loot. I tried to change the subject, and one said “Is it as terrible as GW1?” I had to answer yes. I told them of how the game was far better mechanics wise etc.. They didn’t seem to care. I guess some would call them loot monkeys. One then spoke up and asked if it had Anti farm code like GW1. I replied “To my knowledge no..”
DR is anti farm code, and yes the loot drops will mostly be abysmal.
For my guild, its the only thing keeping me in the game. And with ESO coming out my interest in GW2 is fast reaching the point of no return anyway.
This is basically turning into another conspiracy theory, since Anet says one thing, but players believe another (without proof beyond coincidence). That’s why I’ll side with Anet until they confirm otherwise.
Like I said anecdotally the evidence is on the side of the players.
Unless you read what I’m posting, you’ll never understand what “server capacity” is. Gaile represents Anet. She works for them. She has access to Devs, as she’s in the same office in Seattle. If you don’t want to believe her, then that’s your choice. I’ll just tell you that your “blackouts” have no bearing on when space is made on your server. If you have 25,000 accounts calling BG their main, all 25,000 of you can log out simultaneously, and you’ll still be “full”. In order for someone to transfer in, someone has to leave, or Anet increases the capacity.
Anecdotally you’re wrong and anet probably just aren’t being totally transparent. The fact is in the last couple of weeks blackouts have worked for all 3 of the T1 servers.
Im a new player and from previous games Ive experienced, the Largest servers are the best. How can I get into Blackgate or Jade quarry? Its 12pm here and its still full… should yall be in school?? haha
What time zone are you? If NA then Maguuma might be the best for you assuming you can’t get into one of the 3 T1 servers. If oceanic then Sea of Sorrows is your best bet. If SEA I understand Dragonbrand still has teh biggets SEA of the T2/3 servers.
PvP players get tons of skins already unlocked. PvE players start from scratch.
To balance this, PvE players should not have to do story modes again to unlock stuffs if they have already done so.
People that did both PvE and PvP get a little bit of each.
Seems far more fair to me.
And me, anet wheres the fairness in your proposed system?
This is crap, you already record who has done story modes just give them the credit. You guys just do not learn from your mistakes do you.

It says ascended equipment which to me means all ascended items.
I would imagine one of the best ways is to farm mats used in ascended item crafting but if more players do that then the amount of gold from that will decrease.
I harvest nodes when they are around, but running around with a mining pick is not the type of core game experience that interests me.
Me neither, champ farming is boring but at least there is some active combat.
It’s true that champ farming is by a wide margin not the best way to make gold (not counting TP either)
So since you know what methods are most profitable, what method would you use to earn gold in open world PvE content? Currently my favorite activity is to hop from world event to world event, which means that the vast majority of what I earn comes from event rewards and champ bags along the way. Can I expect to make less returns per night while doing this, and if so where would this be balanced out?

Skill lag and rubberbanding
Jade Quarry
Most of the time everyone around experiences it however there were times where some players had it and some other didn’t.
The lag is worse in Eternal battlegrounds and Red Borderlands for some reason, and it most often happens on reset day/night.
Everyone experiences it when there are 3 large groups fighting of at least 50v50v50. Sometimes I experience it when there are 2 groups of 60 or more each fighting.
Because it is not ready.
Except data mining has revealed that it is.
A lesson in how easy it is to take people’s money … and they give it happily. Why would we want to restrict that? Everyone wins.
I would theorize that there were a lot of people on one end of a transaction who did not “give happily” today. The people who, for example, no longer wished to trade at the sell price they had posted their items at (and would have taken them down if given the choice), but ended up trading at those prices anyways because they had no opportunity to rescind their offer between the time when outside circumstances changed and when a buyer took them up on the price they USED to want to sell at.
This……………….
How will we get transmutation charges? Gemstore? Daily reward?
LOL, no lag problems in ESO? You didn’t play beta, did you?
There was an issue for some in 1 of the beta weekends. It was fixed for the next weekend.
NO….. 15 chars
I played Wildstar and to say it brings nothing to the table is an ignorant, short-sighted statement. To keep things short and simple I’m just going to make a list. Here are features that Wildstar has over Guild Wars 2
You forgot:
A variety of different types of group content – 4 different types IIRC.
A variety of PvP content from casual battleground right up to GvG in warplots.
skill lag is back with a vengeance. pretty much unplayable last night on TC BL.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Why-has-skill-lag-seemingly-gotten-worse/
I want to second this, whatever was in the last patch has set lag to what it was months ago. And this on the eve of S2, I shudder to think how bad it will be for the season.
ESO’s AvA is better than GW2’s WvW but ESO has floaty combat, horrible movement, and dated graphics.
The graphics overall aren’t dated just character models.
So unless there is a specific rune set that offers boon duration of 45% it is indeed a nerf. A very big nerf, which will primarily hurt Eles and Guards as the 2 classes that rely heavily on boons and boon duration.
There are perfectly viable nil boon duration builds for both classes so its not going to hurt the classes overall.
from what I hear… teso is no better than wvw – same problems.
You hear wrong, most of the major quality of life stuff that is missing from GW2 is in TESO – raid groups, siege that is only used against siege, less skill lag, bigger map, no aoe cap…………
