We got it 3-4 weeks into the season, when it was ready months before but they held it back cause they couldn’t release any improvements before the feature patch. So instead they distort the season by giving it to us in the middle.

But this way they can take the development of a single armor look and drag it out 6 weeks.

People continue to discuss this mythical “problem”. WvW was designed from the get go to be unfair. To rephrase – there is no balance, nor is there meant to be, and the devs have stated this from the very beginning.
Therefore, there is no problem here, and nothing that ANet has to “solve”.
“Thats just like your opinion man.” It does affect matchups and if others don’t like that effect then it is a problem for them. Plus when you try and have a comp between such unequal servers as if they are on equal footing with better prizes going to players on servers who finish higher then it is a problem to a large number of players.

No because its on a chinese system, we would have to buy the chinese version.
Let me get this straight. You some how suggesting that Anet is responsible for player choices?
They are responsible for the problem and a game design that doesn’t mitigate against the problem. And in a lot of respects their decisions have made the problem worse, such as free transfers for so long after launch, free transfers just before seasons, the set up of the seasons themselves and the higher rewards for finishing first..
You of all people should know if it hasn’t been fixed by now, it won’t…
So give the affect players some other form of recompense.
As said by Claudius and others, this heavily restricts your ability to fine tune your skills as you level up. Some skills that are reasonably intrinsic to a character’s optimal roles are locked behind those high level unlocks I mentioned above, with some professions e.g Speedy Kits for Engineer. You want to run with a WvWvW zerg, speed boons are important. But you now have to be lvl 80 or near to hope to unlock it.
Why does an adept trait have unlock requirements so high? Surely the unlocks should be based on the trait level.

If they literally can’t issue the chests for technical reasons then just give the affected players gold or gems as recompense.
The biggest thing I keep wondering is why the hell did they do this to traits rather than skills. They should put all the traits back to how it was before and then attach skills to events and things instead. So we still get to have the skill hunting but we get to keep our leveling progression so you feel stronger as you level. Any new traits should just get added to the list. For new skills maybe add a new area and attach them to completion of an event or boss there.
Exactly, when this was discussed in the CDi thread I thought it was going to be based around skills not traits. Which would make far more sense.
Guys, the CDI was just to pacify dumb people for awhile. They were never going to act on any of it.
That’s not true, I have no doubt they are working on something, I just wish they were more open about some of their ideas.
In the CDi thread on commanders they specifically talked about quick wins, months later nothing has been implemented from it.
Sure, we have a lot of people who post on here, but why should Anet cater to us? We seem to never be satisfied. Also, they won’t cater to T1, because they are never satisfied.
Everytime they give us something, we complain about it. If I was a dev, I wouldn’t want to change anything, if it was just gonna still be the same status quo.
This keeps being said and is wrong. Its the poor development of the game mode (especially in relation to other modes) and lack of communication that has led to the current climate in here.
They actually did implement some of the PvE stuff especially around horizontal progression.
Yabbut they implemented it badly and in some cases they implemented it in a way that allows them to screw more money out of people.
The problem with 2v1 in the game right now is that on NA side, it tends to be the 1st and 3rd server vs the 2nd.
Not with the recent T1 alliance.
I’m fairly positive that the Elder Dragons, when we eventually get to them, will be done on a grand scale. The game revolves around them, after all.

Tournament has been a bit too long, it’s already cut into beta testing for another game multiple weekends, and open beta this week and now looks like it’s gonna run right up to headstart. ANet stacked the weeks! <innocent look>
Whats funny is that because the tournament is so godawful its been more of a help than a hindrance to 3 competititors.
Ele and necros have the best area control. Necros have more survivability.
I LOVE WvW. That being said, does anyone else feel like, “is this season over yet? No… there are still THREE MORE FULL WEEKS left… /wrists”

Season 2 is not there for the sake of players, but for the sake of Anet buying time for their next living story.

Too late for that, and the season is far too long.
Easy fix – Be sure your server isn’t ranked low at the end of the season.
Obtaining better coverage is an easy fix? This must be some new definition of easy.
Another easy fix – Transfer to a better server before a season starts. Anet should allow some free transfers before Season 3 begins. That’s how HoD got so strong.
For those in guilds this is not an easy fix and not an answer.
Is like to see a ban on server transfers now (no real need from a PvE point of view now with Webserver). In addition to that, block any new players from joining BG, TC & JQ. Spread that new population over the other servers.

They clearly aren’t going to do that as it cuts into their revenue. And in fact just before S2 started they raised the server caps again when everyone even those on the affected servers didn’t want them to.
It’s really the first time we’ve seen anything of this sort and I think that calling it match manipulation leads to a slippery slope argument.
Its not the first time a hard alliance has been used. It happened in S1.
2v1 is not wrong.
what is wrong is boasting about it when you basically can’t beat the other team without 2v1’ing them….

The SoR guilds want to go back to fighting JQ because they’re bored but the original TC guilds won’t let them as they’re relaying information on their locations and what they’re doing to JQ.
The 2v1 hasn’t been in effect since Monday.
depends on the server and guilds on it. Some are a just coverage. Some are coverage and numbers. Some are both and skill. Some are all 3 and suspicious behavior. Some are bought servers which after a few months die horribly like SoR.
In what way was SOR a ‘bought’ server?
So get together with the other server and form an alliance against SFR.
The beauty of WvW is the large scale dynamic combat. Unfortunately the setup of it has been severely compromised by balance issues, a lack of map variety and a lack of development over time.
Its destroying the game.
It is interesting you put it that way, considering the top two ranked servers going into league teamed up on the third server after the third won their first match in over 2 months.
This is just being disingenuous, as the first week proved BG was always going to have better coverage through new transfers and PvX players coming back for the season.
TC cannot beat JQ’s coverage. [MERC] will pvdoor everything down while everyone sleeps.
TC has close to equal numbers of ocx now if they come out.
Also ANet’s silence in the latest 2v1 is not helping the situation but it is what it is….
They haven’t been silent, in the latest ready up they mention it and its clear they have no problem with it. But anyway for the last 2 days or so its been relaxed so there are plenty of fights.
Yeah… I made the math, and if Gold was actually running by the regular standarts, SoS would finish 2nd (lol wut?).
I guess JQ/TC doing 2v1 on BG have another excuse to continue, more than sheer hatred…
This was probably a very big factor behind the 2v1 to begin with.
It was always a huge factor, along with the dislike of BG.
TL;DR: Figure out how to change the WvW profit model, and everything else will fall into place.
We had many large threads were we discussed exactly that. And they got noted, a dev even posted in them.
We suggested everything, from alternate siege weapon skins to server pride paraphernalia to finisher skins (realized but hardly WvW specific).
The ball’s in ANets court.
Its also been suggested that they look at what sPvP is doing and run with similar reward structures rather than the simple monetisation of doing a tournament to get the transfer fees that will result. It has brought out the worst in WvW players both this season and last, and without significant improvement players will leave the game therefore that funding stream will dry up because other options are emerging. I myself will be leaving the game at the end of the season until significant changes are made.
So you are back, once again trying to spew that even though I showed you both servers fighting, it doesn’t count, because you said so.

What me? I don’t spend every minute of the day on these forums. Your claims have already been refuted, the 2v1 on JQ happened until JQ was out of it just like the 2v1 last week happened until BG got what it wanted. The fact that it didn’t last the whole match doesn’t mean it wasn’t an organised 2v1.
You are seriously making a fool out of yourself. I will write this plainly for you.
BG and SoR did not like each other, they were rivals for a long time, and they did not work together at the expense of JQ. If anybody on JQ was somehow capable of confusing league 1 week 1 as a 2v1, while BG and SoR fought each other tooth and nail, then they are beyond help.
I was on SOR at the time, it happened, deal with it.
Yes and if we truly wanted you to be kept down in a 2v1, why didn’t we start working together again once JQ started catching up?
Again, so you admit there was a double team, well thats a start at least. As for why the 2v1 didn’t continue, well once Easter was over SOS didn’t have the coverage.

That’s because it wasn’t the same kind of double team Jade Quarry and Tarnished Coast are doing. If it was, SoS wouldn’t have started attacking BG allowing JQ to catch up in points.

The best season is to have no season.
No season was driving people away from WvW. People got bored with static matchups, or being blow out all the time (or blowing people out all the time).
Everytime the seasons come around, PvE players join in, and old WvW players come back and enjoy themselves for awhile.
Yes come back to get their achievement then they’re out again. WvW losing players is more down to the complete lack of development for the game mode.

Thats correct not 1 thread has been created by JQ or TC to mock BG, its all BG bringing it on themselves. Heck there was not 1 thread created by JQ players in response to the BG/SOS double team last week.
Definitely should be a care bear mode for many BG players.
2. Is formal collusion across multiple servers going to become the new gw2 WvWvW meta? Here’s the thing if transferring fighters to your opponents server means they now become your friend against whoever you fight, that seems game breaking to this player.
I doubt it at least not on a long term basis cause there’s no point.

25 would be my ideal. This was brought up in the commander CDI thread but was mentioned as a possible long term improvement.
That is however a blantant lie.
People on these very forums were more or less DEMANDING something to fix the queue-times in WvW and also wanted a new map, and we got both of those things in one sweep.
But I suppose that was not what people actually wanted?
People wanted the queues to be like actual queues and they still aren’t, the issues are just more obvious now. People wanted new maps as part of the regular WvW maps and EOTM isn;kitten I won’t play on it any more because its just a boring karma train that doesn’t even contribute to the WvW effort..
You all need to remember this is a f2p game ( buying once) which gives us FREE content, it is a very new look on producing an MMORPG.

Why is the TP which is not something the game was marketed for, or promoted for, the main means of achieving endgame goals?
And why is item obtaining designed around TP merchant playstyles and earning.
I’d really like a comment on these questions from John Smith or an actual gameplay dev seeing as how it relates to gameplay. Similar comments have been brought up many times in the past without any comment.
