Before you bash something, get informed 1st. DB has basically no Oceanic players, I think you meant SEA
Then I guess things have changed. DB use to have a huge ocieanic force and a very weak NA and euro force. In not saying they weren’t good player.

Omen Gaming Community (Omen) is moving to another server. We really enjoyed our time with JQ and the memories we will keep about the epic people we have met there. I would like to give props to those that followed Silverback Rayleigh/Ultima Hyperion during our passes through WvW and for the PVE community that helped us to find bounty NPCs during a rush time of countdowns.
So why Dragonbrand?
I wonder how many people who have complained about this have bought chests or keys anyway.

And to add one more… I don’t mind paying sub fees at all.
I’m very excited about both WildStar and ESO and both companies have said that they’re considering sticking to the sub model. And you know what? I hope they do.
Me too, GW2 has shown me that the sub model is preferable.
The damage ArenaNet is inviting is not so much of a financial nature but one of reputation.
As far as I’m concerned thats gone already.

Every single time you bring up the manifesto with regards to Anet lying you lose more and more credibility. There is precisely ONE LINE in the entire manifesto that anyone can really argue and that’s the “everyone you loved about Guild Wars 1 line”. The Manifesto is many paragraphs long and everything in everyone one of those paragraphs is part of this game.
You’re being too literal to try and defend anet. The fact is the marketing with the manifesto and other blogs and articles emphasised anet as a company who cared about the players and who were making a game which emphasised the player experience above all else with fun as the overriding factor and none of the OCDness of other mmos.
The reality is totally different and the extreme RNG and gambling boxes is a part of it. This is why people are angry at anet, they bought into the marketing and trusted anet based on their rep with GW1. That trust was misplaced and anet have been revealed to be just like most other game makers and publishers.
I could make the argument that subscription games without RNG are even less fair. In those models I have already pre-paid for items that I may never get. Additionally, it takes time to get them which translates to money spent on game time. There’s even RNG built in because I have to keep doing dungeons and looting bosses etc. in hopes of getting something. Therefore even in games like WoW we were buying RNG items!
Strawman, and those games have token systems for all high level loot to overcome being unlucky in rolls anyway. GW2 does have tokens in some place but not where ever RNG is involved.
I just reviewed the manifesto and didn’t find any reference to RNG. All they promised was “no monthly fees.” Where did you read that?

Oh please no-one is going to use it in one on one fights, as has been said multiple times its a way to combat zergs veiling.
The forums are full of posts from people who are tired of RNG and tons of people willing to pay cash for skins in the Gem Store. Yet ANet just continues to completely ignore this, add more RNG crap and no usable skins. How hard is it to understand that we just want skins we can buy straight out? I know many players (myself included) that gladly put down some money for the Rox Items and they were well worth it.
I would have bought the fused weapon skins as well.
I’ll first explain what I’m talking about here. The bomb door part of dredge fractal was updated so thieves can no longer invis up to the door and take care of it for the group. If groups wanted to farm the dredge, they always were able to. Anet also added in infinitely spawning dredge very far back in the room to make it unavoidable to fight them. These dredge don’t even drop loot.
You cannot be serious! What a mindbogglingly ridiculous change to a fractal thats already too long.

What else does unique mean? If you don’t know you ask before using.
We’ve been over this in several threads if you’re going to take the literal meaning of unique it means only 1 exists in the entire game world, when in reality a player can have 1 of the same item on every alt.
And yes some other mmos also have ‘unique’ items but one would have to have played those mmos to know what it means.
Its not unreasonable to have a warning or a more detailed description in the items.
I really don’t like RNG weapon skins either. It just feels greedy to me.
It is greedy, and exploitative and arguably unethical. Anet have to get the message.

And lest you think this an anti-cash shop rant, I’d be more than happy to pay $10 for an outfit or a cool weapon skin I couldn’t otherwise get. But to gamble for it? No way.

No fixes in current patch I see looks like Grenth is going to be rarely open on any server for at least the next 2 weeks.
No fixes for the Orr issues in the current patch? Seriously!! Just ridiculous. How often Grenth been open on any servers in the last 2 weeks? Twice, 3 times? Basically I can’t do anything with my new level 80 until Grenth is open.
I’m just happy for SOR’s Asian and Oceanic crew, we are finally able to hand over upgraded stuff so they can hold some territory despite being totally outnumbered. I don’t think I would have the fortitude to keep coming back day after day like they do and carry as much weight as they do. Mad props to them!
I guess you don’t play during Oceanic and Asian timezones. SOR have recently quite often had the largest zerg on the map during these timezones.
Not since BG got the Kaineng guilds, even last night our PPT got down to around 130 while I was on about 10.30pm AEST.

Whats the range on those? You can still send in a sacrificial lamb to trigger them.
One reoccuring theme that complainers still haven’t addresed or responded to is the fact that these traps are meant for veiled zergs,
Why do they need a counter? Veil doesn’t last long and can be countered with decent awareness and tactics so why does it need a hard counter? I haven’t actually heard many if any complaints about veil lately.
Why couldn’t it be added to ranger traps?
As it is given the cost and supply requirement and build time its not going to be all that effective anyway.

Way to early to be claiming a victory. Tuesday – Thursday are the slow days for SoR.
Most SOR players know that, its going to be tight.
Colin recent post talking about the months ahead told us “It’s extremely important that we stay true to our philosophy that you should be able to play Guild Wars 2 the way you want to play the game in order to reach the most powerful rewards.”

What tier are you in? Because in T1 the meta has changed significantly in favour of even larger zergs flash building ACs everywhere.
Just getting back to Orr cause I got a new level 80 and I agree the changes are ridiculous, especially considering the low numbers of people that go there now. The event scaling needs to be toned down and the temple events need to be looked at. Tried all day yesterday to open grenth on more than 1 server and couldn’t do it.

It’s only because of stealth, which is why they’re introducing the anti-stealth traps in a couple of days.
See that would be utterly stupid, doing it for 1 class, rather than just balancing the class better or providing anti stealth abilities on other classes.
So to the people that are actually leaving the game because they can’t adapt to a minor change like this. Maybe WvW wasn’t intended for you to begin with. Which is not me trying to take a shot at you, just saying maybe you were looking for something else.
Its not a minor change though, as was noted the meta of WvW has changed in the 2 weeks due to it, there has been a player saying he’s had to respec to properly deal with it……………..

Because it would give people with tons of time the ability to get stuff a lot faster than people who can’t live in game.

And yes people would complain if it was changed, people complain about everything.
There needs to be more ways to get ascended gear, not any change to the daily system. Changing the daily system would kitten more people off than it would aid.

I don’t really care about DR, I don’t have an attention span long enough to hit it. Loot tables are kittening kitten in this game, 1 of the worst I ever seen. I have limited time to play and want to maximize my gains in that time. I don’t care for the legendary, I think most of them are fugly and I will not spend years trying to put one together. The end game for me is making money and mats to try new gear and builds on all my alts and playing WvW which is a huge gold sink. With Anet nerfing all the good money making spots they are effectively killing the end game for me and a lot of players like me and I find myself playing less and less and wanting to play less. They advertised playing the game the way you want and be able to get anything you want by doing so which is a kittening lie. It’s down to the mega events and temples and farm CoF1. Anything else is a waste of time cause you aren’t getting rewarded for it. WvW players can’t just play WvW if they wanted to cause you inevitably spend more money then you can make unless all you do is zerg, never upgrade anything and never build any siege. Anet really needs to review the rewards system in GW2.

While I wasn’t there, someone on JQ has been using the spawn/mountain exploit to hop directly into inner Lord’s room area.

That’s it. Thanks to some minute changes, I can shrug off any number of arrow carts- even if they are grouped and assisting -long enough to heal through the damage. The absolute highest amount of damage I have ever taken from an AC post-patch is 1370 or thereabout.
So now we’re required to re-spec to counter ACs? If you can’t see the issue with that well I don’t know what to say.
DR gets taken off, farmer farms all mats, a normal player collects the mats while playing normally, farmer brings the mats price down, normal player can’t get money by selling what he collected now, normal player can’t get exotic jewels unless he has jewel-crafting
OTOH mats are cheap and more plentiful so normal player can easily level up jewelry and concentrate more on areas of the game s/he enjoys.
The best part is that when you supply proof that ACs aren’t the magnetometric guided charges that everyone tells you they are, you’re told “That’s because the noobs shooting at you weren’t using them properly and didn’t place them properly”.
But all your videos showed exactly that, it was abundantly clear.
Plus the change in the meta since the change has been clearcut. As Caliban stated:

The counter to that is why should they be able to buy one? They haven’t earned it then either. It was beyond stupid to let legendaries be available on the TP.
They probably want to prevent people from logging on just to do the daily 5 times and log off again, cause that would not be considered fun, but for people with 5 characters (like the OP) it would feel mandatory.
So instead people log on to do it on 1 character then log off.

NO actually most bosses now are considered trebouchets….because you can t block their Attacks no more post patch.

They also said words to the effect that they don’t mind legitimate farming. Problem is their actions bely those words.
I think we have two slightly different topics here. The first is about farming and how ArenaNet deals with it. In my book, they do a pretty good job making farming as hard as possible and they most definitively should continue doing so. Farming is not healthy for a game, it just drains players time and forces them to do things that not all of them enjoy over and over again.
Anets method doesn’t stop them though, this is the flaw in their thinking.
This thread makes me wonder why I read the forums. Lots of people have been asking on the forums for a way to remove stealth. One is hinted at as coming in a future update and most complain about it without knowing anything about how it will be implemented.
I bet I could eat 100 anti-stealth traps.
As I said before, I think it’s the fact that it’s a WvW only trap that anybody can use, instead of something like a trait or slot skill that a class can use, that is irritating everyone. Wouldn’t you like to have a trait if you’re a Ranger to make it so your traps throw enemies out of stealth, or for an Engineer to have a special “Radar” type skill that makes them visible to everybody? Something you could use anywhere, instead of just here in WvW?
This, or why not just change the thief abilities further.
The implications of the proposed method are that it will add to the siege wars feeling of current WvW and be another gold/badge sink.
Not sure why they couldn’t just incorporate these into the existing professions to make the game more interesting.
This especially rangers, and it would enhance the PvP aspect. Plus if there’s that much of a problem with stealth that they have to go to these lengths then change the stealth aspect on thieves further.
As revealed it just takes away more actual PvP and looks like it could be an excuse to add another gold sink to a game mode that doesn’t need any more.

However, now that confusion is balanced I DO think some of the skills that were heavily using it, and thus balanced around it, could use some improvement. I think that thee skills each should see a balance pass and things like base damage, cooldowns, amounts of confusion applied, or confusion duration should see a buff. A good example of this is Cry of Frustration. This shatter is now much lighter damage than Mind Wrack.
This should have been done at the same time as the nerf. They have got to take a more holistic approach to changes.
That being said, I agree, if you don’t want to WvW, you shouldn’t have to, so, like it has been said on the forums many times, the devs are working on introducing color rotations. SO, you’ll just have to wait, or go play some WvW.
The lack of understanding in these forums is astounding some times. I mainly WvW but I can see how map completion would be almost impossible depending on the server you’re on because certain locations hardly ever become available.
Its not a matter of having to do some WvW they would have to be doing it for a large proportion of the time, which is clearly not reasonable. And its not their fault, its the way anet have set up the game.
I suppose this is up to opinion. I personally have run many dungeons and have never felt like I was grinding. I run the dungeons because they are fun, and for nothing else. If, and when, I have enough tokens to buy a gift, I probably will.
Also many people would not agree that spending hours in WvW = grinding
Thats just says you don’t mind grinding (or at least that form), not that it isn’t grinding. It is under any definition.
