Rollin’ that ^ on my engineer right now in WvW and shredding everyone 1v1 as a ranged class. Best part is there’s no huge wind up of a visual “tell” that i’m about to throw a truck load of death their way.

Honestly though I’d be totally fine if they nerfed rifle, hammer and greatsword since they’re the only viable specs atm as long as they buff MH sword, shield, longbow, mace, adrenaline use opposed to hording it for passive buffs, etc. You know, all the crap that is pretty much complete kitten currently.

if engie do NOT get nerfed after this video gets out there, my faith in anet will be restored.

This is awesome.

I am a banner warrior, who uses a 1h Sword + Warhorn / Longbow.

My build:

My preferred stats are Healing, Precision, Vita/Tough.

With this build, one banner, set to the side of an encounter, will heal my party (previously an entire raid in CS before they reduced the efficacy to only 5 people …) for 312 per tick (second) with 1320 healing. By placing your banners efficiently around the combat zone, you can blanket a very large area with a substantial regeneration field, and only 5 seconds of downtime. If you overlap banner fields, you can have a permanent regeneration field for your group.

Note: Banner heals do no stack, just the area of effect, so it is important to keep them spread out. Now, despite the nerf to 5 people per banner, 3 banners is still up to 15 people if a raid aware group can stay within a particular banner field.

Warhorn is indispensable with Quick Breathing. converting Conditions to Boons is priceless.

I use Defensive Banner, Shake It Off, Tactical Banner, and the elite Warbanner.

My healing skill is Healing Surge.

In solo play, I often switch that to Healing Signet because the regeneration from Adrenal Health, Healing Signet, and a banner do stack, so in solo play I have approximately 650 health regeneration per second. I will throw down two banners about 50 feet apart, and start kiting mobs in a circle around them, stacking bleeds with my sword, taking very little damage. Warhorn skills make me even harder to kill because I have 3 immobilization removal tools (two warhorn skills with QB, and shake it off).

This is obviously a character design geared for group play moreso than solo play, but it is very fun to play with, essentially, I am a very hard to kill combat medic. Oh ya, in combat, my revive ticks for 759, so downed players get up fast.

And I am a highly valued commodity in WvW.

I am sure I can say more, but this should give you an idea of how to use banners effectively.

This is where I’ll disagree. You may THINK you’re getting the same components but I would wager you’re not. Most times when you turn to a manufacturer for a PC they tend to us inferior/lesser quality of parts to keep the overhead down and the profit up.

non PC example: You walk in to, say, Canadian Tire to buy a sleeping bag rated at -40 C because they are selling it for 100$ when the enthusiast Valhalla Supplies camping store up the way sells the same model # for 400$.

A-buh? That is because large companies (like Alienware) go to manufacturer vendors and drop a large sum on the table and say “give us #X# of units” and the manufacturer says “okay” and then uses all of the cheap, left over, poor quality, mis-ordered materials that they have to get rid of in order to fill the order at such a low margin.

Believe it or not, you really DO get what you paid for.

Im playing GW2 on my 40" tv at a resolution of 1080p (native high res) using an old intel e8400+ and nvidia 8800 GT OC with 2GB of ram. Not all settings are maxed, but .. oh darn?

The point which I was making that you over looked when you couldn’t understand the humour is that your class is not about standing still and swinging, it is about doding and mobility. Your lack of comprehensive explanations of skill dynamics suggests that you expect each ability to be an individual move, each with its own separate function.

this is not the case. your abilities are to be used in concert with one another while you move around the dynamic play field. You may have noticed that AoE in large fights is not restricted to certain spots on the ground, but rather hits anywhere. that is because this is not a game of checkers like other MMOs with “real melee” as you assert.

gw2 is more like marbles.

Have you ever actually rushed someone, in the heat of a fight? Have you ever ran? Have you ever tried to STOP running when at full tilt? Have you ever tried doing it while weilding a 100lb sword twice as big as you?

Imo, If i were whirlwinding my way around with a buster sword, id be happy it drug me somewhere rather than landed me on my keister.

Use those delay’s to your advantage and string them together; use yoru whirly bird to evade and dodge when your end is low, throw your sword back in his face, charge in, kick ’em in the balls, and then 100b them again.

Be dynamic, use momentum, try not standing still. Believe it or not, you can tank by dodging!

Also, try turning on the option to cast in the direction of your pointer rather than a clickable ground location. And then start paying attention to ledges and falling.

The build I am working with right now is a Tactics/Strength build for banners and bows. The premise is to be a combat medic in large scale combat wherein my banners stack regen for the crowd, and I have power/toughness for dps and revivals.

it’s been fun for the last 5 levels, but i am only 65 currently (which is nice because now I am in to 3stat gear).
