If you die as an ele in a group, it means the guardian is bad. If you die as anything else than guardian, actually, it means that the guardian is bad. If you die as a guardian, it means that you, the guardian, is bad.

tl;dr: find a competent guardian and you will never go down. Having good teammates plays a role in your survivability until you’re able to solo all the encounters.

If you don’t join LFGs you don’t belong to, you won’t get kicked.
If you join LFGs you don’t belong to, you will get kicked.

I don’t really look at people’s title.
I dislike seeing dungeon master as it’s basically bragging for being a master at something because you did it once.
If I could make up a title it’d be something towards high level encounters, or possibly a fractal master kind of thing, something exclusive.

If you get hit with 2 guardians in the group, at least one of them should just roll something else.

Why would you want a build spamming volley and killshot off cooldown between auto attacks if your main problem with the meta is that the rotation is boring?
Why would you use 2 grandmaster traits contradicting themselves?
Why shake it off?
Why going for a build filling the exact same role as the meta dps build for warrior, but worse?

That, and messing up defiance is probably the thing killing parties the most in any difficult encounters. I’m tolerant to a point, but if i see a pistolwhip on a boss with 0 defiance, it’s just a kick. What Thaddeus said as well. Finally, spamming pistolwhip means you have no initiative for actual useful stuff.

Don’t get used to spam pistolwhip. Doing it on bosses really hurt your party.

Play how you want, but don’t try to hide behind effectiveness. Your build is terrible, as is rifle in pve, and trying to be a special snowflake by playing a bad build is plain dumb.

I don’t know what you’re trying to teach me, I’m just saying the guy has a point.

The guy is right, though. Respect lfgs. Just like people shouldn’t join " berserker, ping gear, exp" lfg when they have no idea about what they’re doing, people shouldn’t join first timers LFGs and act like it’s a speedrun.

For guardian I used 4/6/0/2/2 with scepter/focus and sword/shield, and it was fairly easy. Some classes have it way better than others though, and I don’t think we should achieve difficulty by modifying what was a good encounter before. I wish they’ll revert it.

Forgeive me for asking again, but a little while ago it was explained why GS on ranger vs lupicus can be rather detrimental for group health.
If i remember correctly it had something to with the evades on the GS AA chain and bouncing projectiles or splash damage. (I think it was the former.)
Since I can’t find it anymore, would some please again explain what exactly the problem is?

Previous to the update when projectiles didn’t hit in melee range, anyone using an evade or a dodge would make the projectile hit on the evade spot, meaning it would hit all the other party members in melee range.

Problem is, people will go out of their way to downvote other guys, but I don’t see the community coming to rate good sellers or stuff like that.

Ascended armor is useful for agony resistance, so you probably want to craft pve stats for it.

I’d take something contributing to the group. Then again, it’s up to you. I just feel like my look is good enough without dual wield and I’d rather be useful.

There is no skill stuff die that fast you dont need to dodge at all if all are using meta builds and you have aegis and blind up anyways,if you do it in low damage party it can get hard as you need to dodge and stuff and big hits will 1-2hit you just like they do with zerg gear.

I find the damage-oriented gearing meta boring, as the sheer amount of frontloaded damage output is enough to negate most of the bosses threatening mechanics by simply killing it before those abilities get off cooldown. If everyone is using a meta build and assuming good party composition, and you use proper active defense, you don’t need to dodge as other forms of damage mitigations are enough. If, however, one does it in a non meta party, the difficulty goes up as the boss do have time to use his abilities, and you may run out of active defence. I’m stating the obvious and never went out of AC.

Going defensive only helps you. Thus, people who wants to run with not so selfish people will avoid you. You can still play a soldier warrior, but keep in mind it’s far from optimal, and you have to join lfgs not asking for berserker or similar. If you want to help your party, berserker or assassin is the way to go.

Guards can pretty safely take the hammer. Aegis, blinds, protection, can all be used while carrying the hammer.

There’s sinister for heavy armored bosses solo, and assassin to mix with berserker when you lack precision. You can also have 2 berserker sets with scholar and strenght.

TBH, I wouldn’t miss it. It kind of takes my character over, I become an icebow bot with some additional features.

Now just nerf staff and my ele world is in order again.

Nerf scepter, dagger and focus as well. Lightning hammer also deals damage, wich is an exploit. let’s all play flame axe nomad and be happy.

I got killed. What else can be done with this issue other than nerf it?

They are not part of most speedruns ( although we did use some after the RF buff in iV; it was pretty good, they are sadly outdated now), but for casual runs, they are fine. Rangers share a similar role with the warrior ( unique party buffing via spotter and frost spirit, but warriors just do it better. Rangers have more personal dps, and a really high burst to compensate, along with your usual niche tricks. Pugs are just starting to evolve from the 4 warriors 1 mesmer mentality, meaning you’ll probably get kicked on sight from some groups for being a ranger. IF you’re not into mix maxing, taking a ranger instead of a third/ second ele is fine, and it’s also a really fun class to play.

tl;dr: they aren’t the most wanted, but at least people acknowledge their existence, unlike necros who simply don’t exist.

ptv/ cleric " support" guard that thinks having a good margin of error is great for their teammates.
Next is probably a second warrior.

Sword autoattack is probably the best thing to track down stealthed players.

You can buy other assassin trinkets from the guy on the central place in LA, close to the hub plaza waypont. Same price as any other ascended trinkeet, iirc.
