yeah come on we all know you need to cripple your own build and fill your utility bar with as many clears as you can and take defensive only traits that condi clear becaus only then can your mesmer-warrior-nero-ranger be viable especially when not fighting burn guards….
switched from the eu account to my na account and things are fine… it has better mmr thus coordinated teams no permanent trap
toxic only happens when the other team is all ele premade or people on your team are doing things very wrong.. it got to me today to the point i left after wasting my time with the last team that wouldn’t listen didn’t fight on point ignored any map pings and the score was 40-400 ish
it doesn’t matter what class i play or what i do i cant win a single game while pugging.. it is always extremely one sided as if they target players and all burst that one player and work together and fight on point and don’t have that one guy that constantly goes far at the start/during every match, basically everything my team doesn’t do
if i try to coordinate them its as if they cant understand me and have deleted the mini map and just continue to chase that thief around the map all day.
at least before you “fixed” the mmr i had some coordinated games, the way it is now i can never move on. one player cant carry 4 especially if they don’t want to.
better then base necro but hampered by vital persistence for real build diversity
it needs the same treatment necro’s consume conditions got… increase the cd of the skill and remove something to make the other look like better options fair is fair.
because a single build from a single class soft countering it in a 1v1 only, makes it not op? ok right
How about the balancing team actually making balance without listening to the players? By listening to the players they caused threads like this cause no one believes in fairness anymore but in “if we cry the loudest we won’t be nerfed”.
If the forums already know in advance how traits will turn out, it should be clear to those making the game as well, but instead it’s brought into game a few weeks after announcement and then gets a hotfix.
they need to actually play the game on a daily basis to do this so..
dont do that much damage in pvp with grave digger.. mostly because people kite and dodge it

still has a timer and you are still stuck with soul reaping
just lower the degen and get rid of the trait.. they don’t want us to be able to sit in it while a thief or mesmer camps out in stealth and heals themselves do they…………………
that bandaid fix that is extremely situational and needs to draw non damaging condis or you gain more damage then you get per 3 second interval defeating the purpose of the trait
it is also extremely pointless in a 1v1.. they can just stand there watch shroud deplete in 5 seconds and carry on killing you..

the lf drain reduction from vital persistance needs to be baseline.. only then can we have some real fun
if this cant be done for some strange reason (just test it out for a week if its not good then change it back i do not see the problem!! ), then put a trait that does the same thing in reaper shroud so we are forced to take it there and have at least some build diversity that doesn’t come down to 1 trait line 2 are mandatory….
i would agree with you if there was no 10 second timer tied to shroud but sadly there is.. anyone with a brain the size of a pea knows to burst when a necro leaves shroud because they cant get back in it
if they took away the timer then yes necro could be played this way but with it then there is zero chance of this ever happening
i would think any necro build would focus on staying in its shroud for as long as possible seeing as its the only way to stay alive on the class… and also because you are usually the focal point in a team engagement.
the circumstances… anyone pressing 111111111 will drain rs quite quickly without vp
and i should be able t sit in rs for as long as i do with vital persistance.. why does necro need to trait ds/rs to make it last long enough to soak any kind of burst? the natural degen rate of the 2 is so ridiculous that all someone needs to do is stay at range and wait for it to vanish on its own let alone hit you.
all i want is the natural degeneration of deathshroud and reaper shroud to be toned down to the same level that vp gives it even if you delete the trait without this there is not really any build diversity.. every necro should have sr trait line for vital persistance or they are just a rally bot
i cant even get through a full rotation in rs if i do not take soul reaping… they either need to make vital persitence baseline for rs or create a trait for it in rs. the way it is now you only have one choice of another trait line because sr is manditory

i 2v1 pre nerf dd eles on my necro but that was with a tank build i made they really did not want to give up the point no matter what XD

What condie build are you running where the mesmer has Stealth/stuns/high condies/high stealth uptime/ and great defense.
Because You can only pick 3 traitlines that I know of, unless you decided to play on a server not supported by this dev team..

I feel like this is a proper question to ask. And before you attack me that I need to learn to play, I actually know the build and what it does.
My question is, since Anet is very heavy handed in nerfing builds that are bad for the game, why is Mesmer allowed to constantly stealth and just dodge all the while pumping out insane amounts of conditions that, even if you fully go for condition removal, are simply impossible to cleanse.
This is from a Ranger and Warrior perspective.
To answer your question, its because the build is smothered by myths and falsetalk than facts. Condition Mes has already been heavily nerfed and the majority of its passive play has been stripped with the removal of clone-death traits.
Here’s a tip against any Condi mes, pu or otherwise: Only one attack does burst damage and there’s only one condition you need to worry about cleansing: Torment. The only way they can do meaningful damage to an opponent that pays attention is with the scepter block/counter. Players like Ozzy shouldn’t even be able to touch you. Confusion damage should be minor in most cases.
All the stealth and other stuff is just fluff, a PU Mesmer is at a disadvantage in PvP and is one of the least useful Mesmer builds when played improperly (which is 90%) of the time. Anet doesn’t balance around duels, and when’s the last time you’ve heard of a Condi Mesmer being a threat outside of a 1v1?

i practically turn team fights with 6 stacks of confusion on the target and chaos storm wreaking havoc. i can even jump into the middle of it and get some shatters off because i have way to many ways to mitigate damage.
its godmode cheese cancer even necros die to me because signets cant transfer to what you cant see/blocking/invulnerable targets its a joke.

You practically turn teamfights by.. Pressing 3 with the scepter on a target too incompetent to press dodge or carry any sort of cleanse? 6 stacks of confusion on one target is making a difference in a teamfight? Is this hotjoin?
It must be hotjoin.. If chaos storm is “wreaking havoc” in a condition build and you pressing random f-keys to beat people.
You can scream “cheese” and"cancer" all you like, but if the above are your examples of why then its fairly obvious your experiences aren’t coming from someone who fights even average players. Confusion and shatters aren’t even what makes the build decent, neither are clones.
and why am i not a free lootbag for the first time playing it? this is ranked by the way. my target does dodge the confusion sometimes if it has a dodge left after baiting using stealth then i just shatter cry of frustration and they get it anyway so…
chaos storm does cause alot of problems especially after i take away stability… and if i shove confustion on the teams target they end up killing themselves while trying to defend especially on fast casting classes
cleanse cooldowns are too long to make a difference unless its at ele level of passive+active+regen.. you also need to realise some classes rely on their utility and by taking all cleanse options they may as well afk at home because they wont be able to kill anything.

im playing this kitten build right now dude…. bad players or not they all die, i dont use clones to try fool people i use them to shatter and cause more problems for my enemy, stealth lets me sit there regenerate and watch them melt for a bit before my next burst
i can keep 6 stacks of confusion on them all the time, condi cleanses are stuck behind a large cd way longer then the speed i can stack conditions. i have 1 reflect 1 invulnerability 3 stealth sources cc and a block as well as a condi transfer, even a necro cant kill me because its gear does not work unless they can see me or i am not blocking/invulnerable, even if they get a lucky one off i just shove it right back on them.
it i literally my first time playing this spec and i rarely play mesmer in general i should be a free lootbag, imagine if i actually knew what i was doing
it could just be my mmr but these people are alot harder to beat on other classes
ps i didn’t even need to look up metabattle the build is obvious if you just read the traits while picking them…….

it will get worse with chronomancer………. i can maintain 6 stacks of confusion now but after hot you will be able to maintain 12 stacks of confusion and watch your enemy kill its self.
erm.. i can reflect rifle i think and the burn from longbow i will shove back on the warrior

i dont understand how a team can be so bad… conquest is not a hard concept to grasp.. go to point .. stand on point… try kill the enemy on point but it seems some people just cant do it.
i have had games where if i did not go to the team fight they always lost even if it was 4v4 3v3 2v2 so much so we always only had 1 single point because team mates couldnt 1v1 or 2v2 to save their lives even going as far as 4 people to take on 2….
i would agree to that about mesmer because it has way to much sustain but the dev seems blind to this. as for necro, i have not died to a condi necro while playing power yet altho i have killed power necros while i play condi
well i am finding i cant kill anything lolz… i daze them they stunbreak.. 100 blades just cant do enough damage unless i have a buddy to lock them down. its just kite for days and kill me faster then i can kill them as i chase after them hitting auto attack..
nice discussion shame it will fall on deaf earn and the traits will contunue to never be used because they seem to dream about us killing ourselves.. i spose it fits the emo i hate life theme of necros really
you reduced lingering curses and the original durations on the scepter.. why!? my conditions cant even stick to a thief or mesmer any more
how is it a favorable matchup against mesmer… every time they reveal themselves they are out of range or invulnerable or im blind and then they just pop back into stealth if they are not invulnerable then im stunned if i break stun im stunned again and they go mass invis.. bleah
i cant hit them enough with scepter to stack any decent amount of condis, do way better on power
the problem i see is every time an ele talks about a build being viable it means it must be over the top or nothing……… not gg i lost because i made a mistake and you caught me on it, no it must be gg i lost because i went afk for 20 minutes.
sd will never be viable unless they can hit a couple of buttons and win most of the time or 90% kill the opponent and then have an oh kitten button/combo/passive that always saves them so they can finish the job thats viability in ele eyes.
i have seen streamers play with current zerker ele specs and they were just like a normal zerker class. They let a thief sneak up and basi backstab them and almost die that is their fault, you should not survive that with hardly a scratch. but on the flip-side an unchecked zerker ele can end a fight fast.
I assume you’re playing a LB ranger since you have no idea what you’re talking about. If so, use swoop and resounding timbre. A lot of people like SotH for the extra kiting on LB and the extra damage on your maul, but I think there are better options. Still a solid choice.
i never see anyone play anything different apart from the odd trap ranger

so.. right now ranger is slower then my necro, what am i doing wrong? all the swiftness abilities seem to be tied to combat only, how is this fair?
im just use to getting sone form of speed boost be it from a weapon or trait even on necro i can trait my dagger for 25%… warrior same mesmer.. no but it has teleports so..

I honestly don’t see pug’s vs premades as a problem at all. Just because they are in a party, doesn’t mean they are well organized with a premeditated comp. I have tried joining a few pvp focused guilds so I can try to find new people to play with. And in these guild groups you so frequently get weak players, that I generally find it easier to get wins while solo qing. Sure if you run into an esl level team all qing together then gg but generally the premades I run into aren’t much stronger than pugs.
Not to offend but this kind of reply brings the suggestion of majority to “0” chance. Arthur, not to be rude but you know there is a problem with the whole thing. what your saying is not completely wrong in my opinion but your only referring to 30% un-organized premade vs 70% well premade groups.
sad part is ANET will not do anything about it. not to mention the lame and stupid reporting system. like what the hell, people rage quitting and afk’ng without getting any consequences.

why should i not afk when i try to guide the pugs i am with and they just flat out ignore me and i watch them fight off point or leave the 2 points we have to try get far for no reason only to lose what we had? i am not going to keep feeding the enemy team when i am stuck with that and the score is at 100-300 stuff that.

well decided to move away from necro for a while and am trying out warrior, how do you kill an ele? i can hardly damage them, even when they are not in earth. They cleanse any immob i put on them and seem immune to stuns, all while i dance in their ring of fire or give up the point eventually burning to death.
