Try to look at it from the eyes of a beginner guys.

The NPCs award points, and give you a buff. Who wouldn’t want that?

It takes a higher level of understanding of the both the map and conquest mechanics to get that securing mid is important.

How would you guys suggest we go about teaching this to players?

You don’t. Did Anet provide instructions for dungeons? Tips and tricks to beat Lupi? Did you give a list of boss mechanics and how to counter them? No.

Teaching boss/map mechanics should not be taught be Anet at all, whether through pop up tips, or instructables. That burden falls on the players. If someone is interested in learning how the map works, then it’s up to them to seek out other players that will teach them. I know there are guilds that do PvP training and instruction. Just like Dungeon teaching guilds, and WvW teaching guilds.

Anything designed to teach players about a certain map, or boss mechanics put in place by Anet will be viewed as “dumbing down the game”. And it will in fact be just that. Can you imagine, doing your first Arah run, and when you approach Lupi in all his glory, a little cinematic plays and says “watch out for when Lupi raises his hand!” And a little pop up window comes up saying “don’t let him eat the grubs, and dodge the red circles!” Yeah not so much.

Possibilities for a new playable race

I’m more curious that if they do introduce a new race, will it be an existing one we’ve seen out in Tyria, or will they create an entirely new and unique race to play.

Yes, but the question still remains as to whether or not they can do it and have it be compatible with current lore. With the Sylvari, they at least had Ronan and Ventari and the seed to go off of from GW1. Even an entirely new race would have to be based on something, even if was an obscure piece of lore from GW1.

Yep don’t even try to use the search function here—-been broken for a long time and it has been acknowledged by Anet that it is broken and they are unable to fix it in house. It seems they are unwilling to change to current, fully functioning forum osftware(don’t want to use their $$$$?).

I don’t think it’s a matter of being unwilling to switch. Gaile has stated that they have been looking at different software for quite some time. My guess it that it has much to do with compatibility. Will they be able to transfer all the accounts, all the threads, and everything into a new set of software? Being proprietary software, they can’t just copy and paste everything into a new program. And thats why such a switch hasn’t happened yet.

I’ll respectfully disagree. I believe that someone higher up refuses to approve funds to make the change.

That is possible, but in my mind unlikely. It doesn’t make sense, business or otherwise. However both options are speculation anyway, with really no facts to back them up :P

Wait, did you start a thread on the same topic of a thread that got locked to discuss why it got locked? So you are asking for a thread with Dev responses to be stickied to make searching for things easier? Which is what the locked thread was about, and closed because we already have that. I am so confused….

Forget the story, drop new race in the gem shop + race change feature, problem solved.

I know it’s been discussed at length before as to why a race change option cannot work. IIRC the devs even were saying that because of the PS, it makes changing races impossible. For example, say you are at PS level 30 for a Sylvari, and wanted to make that character a Charr instead. Would you just start the Charr story at level 30? But which story arc? The different story arcs are very different based on the choices one makes in the PS, and cannot be simply transfered over. What about the Order specific missions? In you can choose to help The Vigil, or the Priory. If you choose the Priory, it’s a very different mission then The Vigil one. Also, the character development options are very different per race. For Sylvari, you choose which time of the day you are born, your great hunt, etc. For human you choose which god you serve, what economic class, and your motivation. Again these things cannot be transfered over to a different race.

Treat race as nothing more than a skin being applied, continue the story as is.

Many players don’t care at all about story, and find fun through features like race change more appealing, or enjoy both like me. Two of my characters made it to lvl 80 and never even left LA between level 10-80, and another two characters leveled through WvW/scrolls. Some parts of the personal story jump around now skipping veteran portions (I have read about, have not leveled another character through the story since year one, RIP Tonn).

Unlocked through the gem store MIGHT work, however what about how the new race fits into the lore? The new races PS, and how they fit into the Orders. Kodan for example. While there are a few Kodan in the Pact, or at least considering joining the Pact, would they be able to become The Commander of the Pact as there are so few of them even involved? And so on and so forth. So any new race would HAVE to have those things taken into consideration and be able to fit into the current story before it can ever happen.

Same as I mentioned above, it doesn’t have to fit lore, treat it as a skin…a malfunction due to fotm travel, Asura engineering malfunction gone good, whatever. We already have many things in game that have an odd place in lore and immersion, take for instance minis, tonics, sab, and half the items in the gem store.

I can see implementation in character creation causing a bunch of work, problems, and possibly far more work than it’s worth for Anet, especially when it’s not monetized like it would be through the gem store.

I can see an item in the gem shop like the Total Makeover Kit, but instead would be something like Tengu Race Change Kit, Kodan Race Change Kit, etc..

While many don’t care about the story, There are many more who do. Some of the main reasons many people want new races is to have a new story line, new racial skills, a chance to experience that paticular races culture, etc. If it was just a cosmetic change, then it’s not really adding a new playable race. If such a thing were implemented can you imagine the backlash? “They said they were bringing a new race!! Where is the new starter zone, home instance, racial skills!? Why can’t I create from the start!? It’s false advertising!!! And I have to buy it though the gem store!? What kind of Dolyak excrement is that all about!? This isn’t a new race, it’s a frakking skin!!! Death to Anet and their lies!!!11”

Yeah, just a cosmetic change like that for a race would be a terrible idea.

Precursors in the gem store = Pay to win. Period. There really is no other way to look at it. Crafting a legendary is the end game, but now you put it behind a pay wall. A move like this would be a terible, terrible, terrible, most horrible and Grenth blasted idea ever.

No.

How’s this pay to win? PvP stats are equalised and legendaries don’t offer much of a stat difference tonother gear.

I could understand you saying it’s pay to win if gear stats were a massive factor in pvp, or if legendary gear offered insane stat boosts, but they don’t

Of course it’s not. But as I said earlier, the legendaries are about the skins. And for many the aqusition of skins is “winning” the game. If you make these skins (precursors into legendaries) buyable through the gem store, then for many the game becomes “pay to win”. With the stats being maxed with ascended, stats don’t really matter, as it’s only a ~5% difference between exotic and ascended. It’s the ascended skins that make them more desirable, rather then the stats.

So the skins is what I was referring to when I said “pay to win”.

I wouldn’t say that xenophobia is any reason to keep them out of play. The asura are downright genocidal sometimes, and hated having to come above ground with all the chaos of nature and other peoples. But the dragons left them no choice except to mingle and cooperate.

Pulling the tengu out of their comfort zone only presents interesting opportunities for storytelling.

True, but it would have to be part of the story, maybe Mordremoth invades and drives them. Otherwise they wouldnt have a reason supported by story and lore to come out of their isolation.

No.

Euhm, precursors are already behind a pay wall. What the OP suggests changes nothing, other then the prevents of precursors going up in price even further (which they steadily are right now).

I’m not saying that I approve of precursors on the gemstore, but you are overreacting.

I don’t think I am. Adding in a new source of precursors outside of the game will prevent, and lower, the current prices of precursors on the market. However, with such an addition WILL have far reaching effects on the market. Supply and demand issues, prices, gem conversion rates, etc.

You really are overreacting though.

Someone can already pay real-life money for gems -> convert gems to gold -> use gold to buy precursor from the TP.

There are already people buying precursors for real-life money that they convert to gems that they convert to gold. The only effect that the OP’s suggestion will have is that it cuts out the middleman (the person selling the precursor on the TP) for people who want to buy a precursor for real-life money.

the only effect I see this OP’s suggesting having is that the prices of the precursors on the TP might drop (depending on how expensive Anet would make the gemstore precursors). Lets be honest, the prices of the precursors on the TP are getting ridiculously out of hand, so I don’t see that as a bad thing.

Although do buy gems and convert to gold to buy precursors, with this, more people will be using gold to convert to gems. Which, as said before, will result in higher gem prices. Fewer people will be using gems to convert to gold, which help keep prices down. Also, with the addition of precursors to the gem store, more people will be more inclined to purchase them and make Legendaries, which would increase the demand of all sorts of other things. It’s more then just reducing the cost of precursors on the TP. Any change to the economy like this, even just the aquisition of precursors will have a dramatic effect on the economy as a whole. Look at the introduction of Ascended gear.

Ok, I posted this question in the Questions about the economy sticky thread, and John Smith has this to say about it.

What would happen to the market in general if Precursors were added as an exclusive gem store item? I have a feeling that the prices of many items will actually climb (i.e. rare/exotic weapons, T5 and T6 mats) even though there would be less demand. My reasoning is that although there is less demand for such items, it would cut out a gold sink, which allows for more gold in circulation, which leads to prices being higher. And of course the gold>gem conversion would skyrocket, as more people would farm gold to convert to gems to but precursors. At least thats my assesment. Any thoughts?

The market would be empty, due to lack of server support… because our office would be burned to the ground by an angry mob.

Why would people convert to gems to get the pre and not just buy with the gold they just farmed?

Not everyone farms gold.

There are people in this game that want instant gratification in this game with no work or effort involved and are willing to pay real money for it instead of farm. Nothing wrong with that as it drives markets. I promise legendaries are one of the biggest of the the biggest driving factor behind gem->gold conversions.

I’m well aware, and those people can already pay real money for the pres. The person I quoted is arguing under the premise that pres would ONLY be available in the gem store, which wasn’t the OPs original suggestion.

And that was my mistake. However, I do still hold to the premise that it would have far reaching effects on the TP as a whole if offered in the gem store as well as the TP.

But then the question is what would the price in gems be? 2,000? 5,000, 10,000? If it were to reflect the current TP prices for Dusk it would be somewhere around (please someone double check my maths) 9,480 gems. (15g 60s for 100 gems, and current TP price 1479g min sale offer. Would be 1479/15.60*100?) using gold > gem conversion or $177 USD. (.12 USD for 1g, 1479*.12)

I am not very good at math, so can someone either verify this, or provide a formula for the conversion of gold to gems.

Guys, seriously, think about it. $10=800 gems=X gold. Precursor costs Y gold. Z is the some factor you can multiple X by to get Y. So, Z units of $10=Z units of 800 gems=Z units of X Gold = precursor.

YOU CAN ALREADY BUY A PRECURSOR WITH REAL MONEY.

Yes you can, but thats not the point. Making something that was obtainable in game, and with in game currency, available ONLY through payment of real currency is just a terrible idea. Yeah it would increase gem sales, but destroy the precursor market on the TP, which in turn would cause a significant loss of a valued gold sink. I believe such a loss would also effect the prices of mats, and have far reaching negative effect on the economy as a whole.

Are you forgetting Gold->Gem conversion?

Not saying I support the OP’s idea, but seriously people remember there is a Gold->Gem and Gem->Gold conversion…

Ok look at it this way.
More people farm gold and convert to gems. Prices of gems skyrockets. There will be less people convert gems to gold, which help keep gem prices down. Also, the rare/exotic weapon markets fall. No one is buying them to throw in the Mystic forge to get a precursor. Which in turn causes the mat prices to fall (for a time as there is less demand), as no one is crafting rare/exotic weapons to sell. There is now a significant gold sink (TP fees for buying and selling mats and weapons) lost. Which means there is more gold in-game which leads to inflation of gold. Which has an effect on ALL prices of everything on the TP. Which in turn leads to prices being higher as there is more gold in circulation. Now the prices COULD balance out eventually, IF the amount of gold going into gem conversion is equal to the amount of gold removed through the game through TP transactions.

However, I am sure there are people who are much more qualified to speculate on the market better than I can on this matter, but thats how I see it happening.

No.

Not really “Pay to Win” (in that owning a legendary does not give you any form of combat advantage over someone who has an ascended weapon of the same type), but pretty detestable all the same.

Oh I understand that completely. However, Pay to Win in this game has come to be defined as getting all the skins. Which is one of the main reasons for people pursuing a Legendary weapon in the first place. Thats the same argument given about gem store exclusive armor sets, and skins, and why so many people feel that GW2 is pay to win.

Pay to win is NOT defined as having all the skins and never has been for GW1 or GW2.

Pay to win IS defined as paying for best in slot, which skins aren’t, but Legendaries are.

Again, I understand that, but there has been numerous threads commenting on the gem store, and the armor/weapons skins therein, and how you can use real money to buy the gems to get those skins. Which in some peoples mind equates pay to win. I don’t agree with that assessment, but that sentiment does exist.

Understood but a few people being wrong about what constitutes pay to win doesnt change what is and is not pay to win.

There are people on the internet who believe that the world is flat too.

Hehehe True, I was just bringing attention to the argument as I am sure there are many others that will eventually try to go more into depth with it. In any event, locking precursors behind the gem store would be a terrible idea, and cause many people be kittened off to no end.

Edit: Pay to win is referring to skins, and not stats. There is a perception that obtaining all the highly sought after items for their skins (because with the normalization of stats, end game gear is very easy to obtain) is “winning” the game. For others, it’s actually getting a Legendary weapon, or several.

And remember that on this build you will die from heavy condi spam.

This seems to have some good healing, and pretty “bunkerish”. Perhaps thats something similar to what they were running. I might have to look into something like this for my warrior. Such a build seems to be very effective for maps such as the orb. Get the Orb and regen your way to victory :P

Hmmm

Many of the conversations here have caused me to think. While I am still excited about the program, it’s exact role within the community is causing me some apprehension.

As others have pointed out, if by this program we are essentially “releasing” the devs from pursuing the forums, and being the information gathers for them, so they can spend more time doing their jobs, then it curtails the devs involvment in the forums, and hampers the more communication efforts that have recently been implemented.

However, as I see it, the only role the Specialists really have is to look important on the forums. Nothing more. We already have our “specialists” in the various sub-forums. Names that have shown that they know what they are talking about, can offer sound advice, and are fairly objective. And from what I understand, almost none of these people are eligable, or have any desire to apply.

So would an Account Specialists input into a thread hold more weight then Inculpatus cedo? Or a Lore Specialists input be more valuable then Konig Des Todes? Or Purple Miku for the Warrior profession? Wanze for the economy? And so on and so forth.

So if this is indeed the case, the Specialist program frees the devs from their involvment in the forums and communication with us, the players, is it really something that we want to see? And if not, then why should I pay more attention to a Specialist than someone who knows their stuff, but is unable/unwilling to become a Specialist? At this point the whole Specialist program just becomes something for those applying, and being Specialists to feel good about themselves while not really offering anything of any substance to the forums, or offering anything of any substance to the devs.

yeah, I was thinking about the inspiring battle standard, but don’t remember seeing any banners, but I could be wrong. I wasn’t exactly looking for them. The amulet might be about right, unless they were using something else to provide massive amount of healing. I was also thinking of maybe shout healing as well, with the inspiring battle standards would also provide some great healing. Have perma regen, with shout bursts.

You can’t have shoutheals and banner regen in the same build, they are both Tactics grandmaster traits.

hmmmm…didn’t think of that…

I think that story holds true for CS everywhere. I still remember when I did computer repair and I had to replace a CD drive because there was a sandwich stuck in it.

Someone thought it would warm up the sandwich.

One time my mom stuck a CD into a 5 1/2in floppy drive and called tech support to try to figure out why it wasnt working. :P She eventually figured out what she had done, and was calling for a pair of pliers, with the poor tech guy freaking out as to why she needed pliers. She never did tell him what had happened.

Inspiring Battle Standard grants perma regen to yourself and your friends when using a Banner

Amulet would be soldier/settler

Build varies but 6 in tactics is the base of the build with 4/6 in defense it is very tanky

So I was playing PvP Last night, and came across a warrior. This guy was SUPER tanky, and healed almost as fast as we could damage him. I was using my beserker power long bow ranger and barely able to touch him. As soon as any damage was done, he was healed almost instantly. Just curious as to what amulet/build they might have been using to get so much healing, and be so tanky. It was on the Orb map (forget the name) and it seemed to be rather effective, even when focused by 2 or 3 of us while carrying the orb.

Any thoughts?

@OP

If you suspect they are cheating, you can always ask how they are doing those runs so fast, and report them in-game. But starting a thread complining about it doesn’t really give anyone much to go on to do an investigation. Also if you were to post their names here, it would result in an infraction against yourself, and getting this thread closed.

Thank you Gaile for your responses!!!

Although I am a forum frequenter, and do tend to lean more toward the “white knight” side of things, and feel the game is doing rather well, and do “defend” against unmerited attacks about how much the game is broken and dying, I won’t be applying.

I do agree with others, that is a special tag is made it will be a target for those who have a “bone to pick”. However, if the specialists just had a specialist tag that just says WvW specialist or Lore specialist, without their own account names, that would reduce the amount of hate mail they recieve and still be able to serve their function. Anything else is an invite to be trolled.

I do like the idea, although many of the more vocal and well respected members are unwilling or unable due to the restrictions.

Same type of complaint was brought up in GW1 how players said it’s been 4 or 5 years since Ascalon destruction and nothing has changed.

But look at Ascalon now, ~250 game years later and it’s not much better. The city is still in ruins, and haunted. The land itself doesn’t offer much, and is no where near being as fertile as it once was.

As far as the “trapped in a single moment in time”, the whole world is pretty much trapped in a moment of time, or at least in a time loop. As much as everyone would love to see LA rebuilt, until the Living Story moves time along, LA isn’t going anywhere. We saw the same thing with the Queens Pavillion, before it became the Pavillion. Before it was a giant hole, and construction site, then the patch came, and overnight it was transformed.

So unless you are doing the PS, or the LS, the game is trapped in (almost) the same exact time frame as when the game first launched. Thats why we don’t see Orr being cleansed, can fight the same world bosses repeatedly, do the same dungeon paths, etc.

What equip/build for necro? :(

I just hoped there is some reliable condition build on condition heavy class. Unfortunately it seems there is not.
(btw this is not negativity towards what you wrote – I am thankful you did – it is negativity against game design/balance where out of the 16? different combinations of stats 1 is so much better that every class is using it. Seems to me to be quite sad.)

There are actually a couple of reliable condi builds for necro. I myself use rabid with scepter/dagger and focus on bleeds and wells. But as pointed out with the condi cap, its not as usefull in dungeons and world bosses, although is quite good in silver wastes. My suggestion would be if you want to play condi necro in dungeons, start your own LFG thats more selective to what you want to do. For world bosses you can always switch to minions and go more for direct damage just by changing a few traits and maybe main hand weapon. Generally at world bosses there are more than enough people to take them out even if you were afk.

For WvW roaming, condis can provide some great pressure if you are with a group. In PvP condi builds do rather well, as there are only so many cleanses one can do in X amount of time, and you can generally get all of your condis back up in short order, so it really only buys them a few extra seconds.

Possibilities for a new playable race

in Lore

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

I think Kodan would stand a better chance of becoming a new race then the Largos. Too little is known about them, and much of their home and starting areas would be underwater. Although the mechanics are there, starting out underwater when underwater combat has been gated with the NPE. They would have to remove such a restriction in order to have the Largos as a playable race.

The Kodan would make much more sense, however they might need to alter the latter part of the PS, and the current LS to include Kodan with the Orders and the Pact. Unless they were to just say that the player is the first, and only, Kodan to have joined an Order and the pact. Otherwise i dont see how they could bring Kodan into the mix.

On first paragraph: There is absolutely nothing wrong with that (@mechanic change). And “too little known” is hardly a restriction. Case in point: sylvari.

On second paragraph, there actually are kodan in the Orders and Pact – same with tengu. It’s just that there’s less than 5 (possibly less than 3 individuals).

Part 1: yeah I was thinking about that, the lack of lore would be much easier to work with, but the mechanic change i feel would be much more problematic and much more work. Programmers by nature are lazy :P

Part 2: I dont recall seeing any Kodan, i remember the tengu smith, but there is a good chance I just missed them.

Possibilities for a new playable race

in Lore

pdavis.8031

Honestly, I expect any new race would be locked out of the PS as it exists today. I don’t know whether to expect something unique for them, a PS Season 2, or just having the PS completely replaced with something new (or going the way of personality…), but I fully expect an overhaul in conjunction with a new race.

So a whole new PS for a new race? Interesting. But then the player wouldn’t be THE commander and co-founder of the pact, nor the one who defeats Zhaitan, nor the “boss” in the LS. Which would mean a ton of extra work and some some crazy story discrepancies and an obscene amount of retconning just to have it make any sort of sense.

Ok, people have been talking about an expansion. And in that expansion, the possibility of a new race. This is not one of those threads.

What I am curious about is IF there was the remotest possibility for a new playable race to be released (just speculation) what race would it be, and how would the current lore be able to support it. Also we would have to count on the PS being pretty much the same, at least as far as the pact and fighting Zhiatan.

I know many people would like to see the Tengu brought into play, but as a playable race I am not sure that would work, according to lore. From what I understand is that the Tengu are very xenophobic, and have pretty much closed themselves off from the rest of the world (with the exception of a few merchants). For good reason too, IIRC.
Would the Tengu be able to integrate with the various Orders and other races? Do they have anything unique and useful to bring to the pact?

What other races would be able to be brought in as a part of lore? Or would a whole new race, like we saw with the Sylvari, need to be introduced, with connecting lore?
Thoughts?

Returning player lf survival build

in WvW

Well, there are several options. In the elementalist forum there was this little gem:

here if you want a viable “healer” try this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFAQFAWnMISLDWzAWPAfEGQAwIfFaCLxwBgCwDQUKA-T1BBABPqEEgLAAq6Ag+BAEq6PAu/gYK/IFArCjA-w

this is a healing/vuln builld with some decent damage. you wont get kicked out of dungeons with this.

traits:

Fire:
V- there is nothing better to get in this line for a healing type build unless you want a cantrip build in that case you can use spell slinger to stack might.
VI- to boost damage in fire attune.
XII- boost damage as time goes on.

Air:

VI- boost damage to bosses mainly

Water:

II- great with arcane power. gives 15 stacks of vuln in total. and arcane wave gives aoe vuln also.
VI- Punishes stupid AI good damage booster
XIII- for healing….

Utilities/ Heal:

Heal:
Obviously one would take AB for the blast finisher.

Utilities:

AW- for blast finishing heals might etc.

AP- ensures crits and gives vuln.

FB- for damage

Other utilites:

Fire axe- great for might buff and can be used for leap/ blast finishes

Cantrips- if you decided to go cantrips which are mainly defensive you would need might on cantrip in the fire trait line.

Gear:

Staff- because its the best at healing

Sigils- renewal for teh healz and acc for a decent damage output.

Armor- the mix of magi for armor and clerics for trinks gives:
Healing
Tough
Vit
Prec
Pow

This mix would be the best for maximizing PVE style gameplay for your “healer/damge-er”

Runes:

Runes of Alt will give you more healing power and might/fury on using a heal skill which if you use as a finsher will give even more buffs.

food/oil is for prec stat to boost damage.

gl

It has some goos sustain and a decent amount of damage. Also look at necros. They have some great sustain while being able to dish out some decent damage as well. But largely it depends on what you are doing in WvW. Solo or group roaming? Following the zerg? Staying a defending objectives?

I would say that your best bet would be to check out the profession forums for the specific builds and professions. There are usually at least a thread or two for WvW builds for roaming, zerging, defending, etc.

Hopefully that helps.

What sendmark said. Sometimes you just get people who talk trash. Had a game awhile back with my regular team, and 1 pug. Pug kept trying to tell us what to do, even though we had our strategy planned out. I went far to get the decep. Got into a 1v1 situation, won, and took the point. Even so pug kept yelling at me, PMing me and calling me a troll. Saying that I shouldn’t have gone far and gone mid (where the rest of the enemy team was).

Just ignore them. If you are playing the best you know how, communicating with your team and not making stupid noob mistakes (i.e. continously running into a heavily defended point and dying) then they are just whiners and don’t deserve your time or energy.

What is the barrier to entry for this game?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

Hi guys, I bought this game a couple of years ago and played for a little while before deciding it wasn’t really for me. At the time I just kinda wanted a more traditional ‘WoW clone’ with new races/classes to play. I wasn’t in the mood for a new learning curve.

However recently I’ve been thinking about giving it another try, and before doing so I usually have a quick browse of the forums just to try and get a gist of what the game’s about and I tend to get the impression that the game has quite a high barrier to entry.

On the one hand I often see people praise the fact that you can play any profession any way you like. But then I see a lot of posts that say certain profs or builds are undesirable or downright useless at parts of the game. Are these just the general min-maxers or do you really have to alter your (possibly preferred) playstyle to be useful at endgame? Is it okay to play how you want and have fun or will it hold you back when you try to do group content/WvW/PvP?

As others have said, every profession is valuable and brings something to the table. Certain builds are better then others, and only those who care about “speed runs” are picky about what they bring in a dungeon. However, browsing the forums is where you went wrong. While there are many people who can give great advice, and know what they are talking about, the forums in general tend to have a negative view point of the game. Anywhere from “X class is way OP!!” to “The game is on it’s last legs and dying!!” So I would say keep that in mind when looking for advice.

One of your best bets would be to check out each of the professions sub forums. There is less QQ there about a specific profession, and you’ll find the experts in those classes willing to offer a helping hand to get you started.

Good luck!
