It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
Hoelbrak runes works a charm with PS if you are not willing to spend all your money on Strength runes. You loose 15% might duration and 7% damage, but gain a slight more survival due to the minus condi duration.
Before people start saying crap like you need Strength runes, in reality Hoelbrak runes with PS gives 60% might duration, which means FGJ gives 40s on a 20 sec CD, and signet of rage gives 48 seconds on a 48 second cooldown. Traited for shorter cds this is. You will miss out on the small gap of a few seconds to press your button before the stacks drop, but it’s still capable of keeping the same amount of stacks.
If you are in the position of considering Hoelbrak over Strength runes, buy Hoelbrak. Because if you are even in that seat the little difference won’t matter when it all comes down.
The thing about a good PS PvE build is that you want to be able to maximize your might production with sacrificing as least DPS as possible, therefore making strength runes the optimal choice.
While alternatives would indeed be viable, they would be sub-optimal and anyone conscious enough to not want to be a drag to a group would be wise to always go in the optimal direction.
True. However, cost is an issue, and while having the extra 7% damage could be very usefull, such a build being a support type, DPS is sacrificed anyway. While there are things to do to minimize that sacrifice it’s pretty clear that doing max DPS on such a build just isn’t going to happen.
Even so, this is still a largly situational build, and mainly depends on party make up for it to be the most effective anyway.
Just like the most recent one that just got shut down? :P
My main concern is costs. I was going to pick the the gear needed from dungeon vendors, and I think hoelbrak are cheaper than strength. But it seems that either work just about the same as far as might duration.
I’ve noticed that every couple of weeeks a new mounts thread gets started. Half of the responses in such a thread are about how there are already 15 mounts threads still in circulation. MY suggestion is this. Why not either make a sticky thread just for mounts, or have a merged mounts discussion thread, similiar to the megaserver/feedback threads that are already out there. This will help the players who wish to discuss those things be able to keep track of whats going on with that paticular topic, instead of starting a new thread every few weeks.

Enough said.
Gems, lots of gems. With those gems there are MANY things to buy, character slots, digital deluxe edition upgrade, skins, unlimited gathering tool (the only “debatable” must have item), and converting to gold. And those are just a few options.
if you dont want to shell out on strength runes i think omnomberry cream is the boon duration food
but yeah, if you want PS to work you need something like berserker since it’s so reliant on might on-crit procs from forceful greatsword, which you’ll be getting less of in valkyrie
the trouble with PS too is that its a support build – so you want to be taking FGJ and double banner but you need precision which basically makes signet of fury crucial – so you might even just want to drop FGJ (despite losing the fury) since otherwise you won’t be buffing your party as hard
Yeah I understand about the gear, and valk wouldn’t work for this build. What about Hoelbrak rune in place of Strength? Not sure the cost of hoelbrak atm, but I do know Strengh runes are super high right now. Even with the runes, any consumable boon duration food I am sure would help alot.
I just did a few tweaks to Veckna’s build but this is exactly what I use in all the pugs I join and I will consistently keep 23-25 stacks of might no matter the amount of enemies im fighting. if you need to use a banner for some reason then the banner of Discipline works well in place of Signet of Fury. The main focus is that you have base 73% crit rate and 100% fury uptime with both For Great Justice and immobilize on cripple/fury when immobilize. Hope this helps!
I like it. However, why healing surge over healing signet? Healing signet pushes up crit chance to 75% with Deep Strikes and Signet is better healing overall anyway? But I do like the fire runes, especially since I generally use LB for ranged, and with combustive shot (f1) + arching arrow (3) creates an area might blast finisher.
if you continue to play for a few years, you’ll reach the cap anyway for the daily.
you’ll have more problem with the temporary achievement that you’ll never able to get again.
If you are talking about LS content, have you read their plans to make this all available again at some point?
The only thing thats been said about that is “we hope to” and “it wont be available at launch of the LS journal” I would like to think that they WILL release it at some point, but it will require a major overhaul for it to work, as most of the events were MASSIVE map events that required a bunch of people working together.
“Even so, the examples that have been provided of the type of players that are effected by the “unfair” AP system, are a small minority.”
With this logic, then for example too Super Adventure Box is unnecessary, because in my guild I did alone all, the other 30-40 gamers don’t like. Why don’t revolt this thing?
I wish you further good picking at, I go to use FPS game and shot the gamers. It is unneeded you give response, because I don’t want to see. Bye classical skid. You don’t stick it response
This is false and illogical for reasons already explained.
First of all SAB and the AP point system are not even comparable in the slightest. I can appreciate that you feel that you are at a disadvantage with the current AP system, and feel that new players coming into the game will feel the same way. However this isn’t the case. Many people have shown time and time again that AP is nothing more than an indicator of how long you’ve been playing the game. I started playing BEFORE AP even meant anything. There were no reward chests for x amount of AP, it was (and still is) just an arbitrary number. I do understand that some people feel that AP is a goal to be obtained, and in doing so somehow gain the admiration and respect of their peers in the game. This points more to a personal social problem more than anything, and not a broken or “unfair” AP system. The truth of the matter though, is that “few” (Few being a small percentage of the whole games population, (i.e. millions) still being in the thousands) people actually are concerned about AP. To most of those who actually care about it, are generally only getting them for a personal sense of 100% completion. Many people like to play games this way. FF7 for example. Doing everything possible in the game, getting all the materia leveled to 100%. Killing the emerald and ruby weapons, have every character unlocked and leveled to 99 with their ultimate weapon, etc. These are completionists. They represent an even smaller minority of those who care about AP.
Even so, the majority of people either don’t care about AP at all, or simply accept that because they joined late they won’t have access to the AP that was available during limited time events, or shouldn’t be able to gain AP from dailies/monthlies for almost 2 years past.
Now if you can provide any other reasonable argument, or evidence, as to why the AP system should be made “fair” or changed in anyway, please feel free. I will welcome any such discussion. However reverting to name calling, (by the way what does "classical skid even mean!?) and ill informed rants isn’t going to help your case at all.
Golem Banker
Item type
Consumable
Rarity
Basic
Binding
Account Boundhttp://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Golem_Banker_%28consumable%29
hmmm odd. Just created a new key run character last night and golem was soulbound. I wonder if the tool tip just hadn’t been update since golem was made account bound.
That makes sense. Thank you.
Now what about the viability of such a build? I know eles, guards, and I think mesmers can stack might fairly easily as well. I am thinking that such a build would be situational at best (i.e. in a pug without a guard or ele stacking might).
So once again beserker is the end all for everything. :P
What about traits and utilities? because thats where it really matters the most. From what I can tell, only SoR, FGJ, FG and Short temper are the only way for a warrior to gain might, aside from sigils and runes. Would what I have as traits in the editor work? I really can’t see another way to work them without giving up PS to put more into strength…
edit: responded while you were writing yours :P
So how does zerker gear provide more might than any other gear set out there? Of course traits and skills are really what make up a build. Both assassins and beserker have precision as stat, assassins a bit more than beserkers. I guess my main question is what skills/traits are needed to maximize might gained to best stack might for the party?
I actually like the recaps. Is just like a “Previously on Battlestar Galactica…”. My wife who just started playing the game, is interested in learning about what happened as she prepares for season 2. It’s a good idea for new players coming in, and for older players, as a reminderbefore season 2 launch. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to read/watch it.
Agreed.
But I believe this particular OP just likes to start a new thread each week to kitten this or that. Unless I’ve gotten him/her confused with another – which I don’t think I have.

No the golem is soul bound. I did the upgrade and don’t regret anything. The golem is AWESOME for key runs, and alts in general. Also the Mistfire wolf can be a useful Elite. And having a skill that was locked just didn’t sit well with my OCD :P
While you 3 or 4 duke it out, I’m just going to leave this here:
Do they have one debunking the ‘round’ Earth theory as well?
No, just the one about the sky being “blue” and of course the heresy that is “gravity”
ooo then we could have furries running around everywhere! I am actually ok with that….
I chose warrior because: http://i.imgur.com/dcsorpM.jpg
RNG is OP and needs to be nerfed,
Also when submitting a ticket, what option should she choose? Account issues? In-game issues, or purchase issues?
Thanks

Thank you!!
Greatly appreciate your help!!
I will have her do that!
I’d second their point if it had any basis in reality.
Let’s say my first ever fractal is a level 50. My final reward is from my prl. I get empyreal shards.
If your prl is up to 30+ you have at least 1 ring and most likely at least 20 pristines. Come the crap on guys.
/grumpylilith
How is our sentiments NOT based in reality? Removing the ring drop completly is an idea not based in reality if anything. It really is more of a non issue. Many players already think that the reward system is broken, and is horrible, removing a drop because fractal frequenters have multiple rings is just plain lunacy.
I’m saying the reality is that ring drops at 38 has absolutely no purpose. Literally no purpose. You gave a crappy reason, I gave the reason why it’s crappy. I’m grumpy and sick of people not seeing logic. Please. Please. See logic.
So why do ring drops at 38 have no purpose? It’s a reward, the ring can be equipped, it’s accountbound so even if that character can’t use it, an alt might be able to. I don’t see how my reasoning that those who run fractals often and getting multiple rings as a reward is any reason to remove them as drops. That is a very logical reason. Just because some people see rings dropped at level 38 having no purpose, and thus should remove them as a drop is not logical.
P.S. Cheer up. If you are in a grumpy mood, coming here on the forums isn’t going to help. It WILL cause you to be more grumpy and start throwing things. :P
I am with you on this OP. Conditions EVERYWHERE need to be reworked though, not just PvP. I also play a condi necro from time to time in PvP, and have found it to be rather useful. Of course those running heavy cleanses can easily blow off the conditions, it does take a specific anti condition build to do so, and usually they are sacrificing somewhere to do it. But a critical condition idea is a start to working through all the major issues with conditions everywhere. But doing something like this just may make condi builds completely OP, and if enough people start QQing about that, it will get a nerf, making them even worse.
I’d second their point if it had any basis in reality.

@Kapps
I submitted a ticket under account issues (Legacy Armor). Although it may be unlikey to get the desired weight, it doesn’t hurt to try. Try adding your experience there as well and perhaps we can get an offical response on the matter.
My wife decided to get an account and join the game. We got the heroic edition, and recieved the Legacy armor. However, she selected the wrong type of armor (heavy) and had created a light armor character (mesmer), rendering the legacy armor useless unless she re-rolls a heavy character. Is there a way she can get the light armor at all? or is she at a loss until she rolls a heavy alt. The chest hasn’t been opened. Can she submit a ticket and get the chest replaced with light armor? or does she get a new chest for each new character created? Much like the banker golem in the DDE upgrade. Thanks!
Edit: We also aren’t the only ones who have issues about this. I’ve seen several other threads on the same topic, but with no solution.
My guess would be to submit a ticket under account issues, or search there for an answer to this questions. I am going to do the same. I’ll let you know if I find anything,
I have no idea, she hasn’t rolled an alt, although is thinking about it.
My wife did the same thing, but picked heavy instead of light. Not sure if anything can be done though.
First off would be to go full zerker. You’re kidding yourself if you think that extra vitality is helping you at all. Second would be to get a sigil of strength on the greatsword. And regarding FGJ, its actually 6 stacks of might for the group, and 3 stacks for you. This is because the shout itself gives everyone 3 might, but since you also get 3 might it shares that with everyone resulting in 6 might. Lastly, get some strength runes. Yes, they’re expensive, but they really are the bet option
I can see how Runes of Strength can help with might stacking, however a 25% chance for 1 stack to proc doesn’t seem to be worth the cost to me, unless the might duration is vital to PS. The sigil of strenth would be a great idea though.
Also this isn’t a discussion about my valk gear, we’ve already discussed it to death and beyond. The question is what gear set would be best for stacking might via FG proc. I’m thinking assassins might be a good idea. As precision is main stat.
maybe something like this?
Also hoelbrak runes might be a cheaper alternative
(edited by pdavis.8031)
So I was playing around last night with Phalanx Strenth and might stacking. I found I could maintain around 18 stacks of might for the group using FGJ, SoR, and Forceful Greatsword. (at least I think it was me, it was hard to tell as we had some eles, another warrior, and others adding might as well.) But I got to thinking, Phalanx strength, as good as it is, is extreamly situational. FGJ is pretty much useless, as PS only has a range of 600, the same as FGJ. So using FGJ you are adding might to the party anyway. SoR, actually helped, as it adds the 5 stacks to the party instead of just yourself. Forceful Greatsword (FG) also was a great addition. I was running 4/4/0/6/0 and other similar set ups to find something that worked, without sacrificing too much DPS.
I was running valk gear, and banner of discipline to help up my crit to proc might with FG, but I am thinking to be the most effective at might stacking, I should be running either beserkers or something else to get a higher crit rate.
What are some ideas about builds/gear to make PS worthwhile. Or is it even worthwhile, as most dungeon groups generally are doing some might stacking of their own without the need for PS.
This is my current setup, although the trinkets are not accurate, they are what I am going for.

Any thoughts/suggestions?
Your group had low cleave dps, no blinds, no aegis, no group stability. And you probably didnt bother to dodge any of the vets attacks.
Oh I totally agree. I figured that was the case. As far as dodges, I thought the group as a whole did fairly well, but even after so many dodges, you can still get caught with the imobilize and get downed fairly quickly.
But what about those who are starting out on the higher level fractals and are looking for rings? You stop dropping them, make them only purchasable through relic vendors, and those seeking the rings are screwed. So you have a bunch of rings, because you run fractals a lot. If youdon’t have a use for them, sell them and move on. No reason to take away a reward because some people have an excessive amount.
more than likely…just thought I would check it out and see if anyone else had any issues. Thanks!
So we did a pug group for TA forward, after the newest patch today (6/18) and had a kitten of a time on the tree with the vets. Either we had low DPS, and couldn’t keep the vets down OR the vets got buffed. Stacking at back of tree got us wiped QUICK, several times. Tried to range and got wiped quickly as well due to vets. Eventually we had to kite vets, and target tree to have any effect at all. I think it was partially due to group composition, (2 warriors, mid/high to high DPS, 2 necros, suspect 1 or both were condi builds, and a mesmer, not sure what build, but using GS). The players weren’t bad, just bad builds. Normally this boss isn’t hard at all. Anyone else have any issues with this boss post patch? I think the vets were acting more aggressive, and hit A LOT harder than normal, and I swear I saw 1 vet go from almost dead to full health instantly (although it could have been just another spawn…)
Any thoughts? Or did our group just suck badly?
There was a thread about a troll wvw commander, of course the thread got shut down, but it was shown that the rules prohibit disruptive game play. Now most of it applied to pvp and wvw, but I would think that the same would apply here. If it can be proven it was done on purpose,. Maybe the player was new to the blitz, and just saw bosses ready to die, so jumped in, or didnt understand english, due to mega server.
If op has chat logs and/or video proving this guy was griefing on purpose, then he might have a case. Otherwise, theres not much that can be done.
T6 blood is used to craft all Berserker Equipment…..thus the constant (and possibly increasing) demand.
No wonder it’s so dang high! I’m working toward my legendary, and the T6 blood is killing my pocket book. Even with buy orders it’s still 50s+ per. But I’m still plugging away.
lol thats awesome!!!
It’s true though, I’m not complaining that inflation is causing the prices to rise, or QQing about it. I deal with it, as its kind of expected as the more an item is in demand the higher the cost will be.
I dont think thats the exact term, but there is an option to report for those sorts of things.
You can for disruptive player behavior (aka griefing) however the forums are not the place to discuss this and you thread will get closed soon. Thank you.
Well first as zerker your first order of business is to be a kitten to everyone, and to call “noob l2p!!!1!” To your group every time you get downed. After that kick anyone you deem to be less of a player than you and rage quit.
Seriously though. Grats on your gear. Learn to dodge and the boss mechanics and you can do awesome and amazing things. It does take a level of skill to play, so do your research and practice.
For traits, chose them according to your weapon sets of course, from what I understand for warrior the meta is 6/6/0/0/2 or 6/5/0/0/3, I could be wrong though.
Good luck and have fun.
Also taking a screen shot of the whole party does not help. If you get kicked you still dont know who sugested and who confirmed the kick.
So should i report 4 persons just in case? Further what can an Admin do about it if he gets a complaint, usually there is no sign of a problem or that sort in party chat, even if they save them somehow.
No what we realy could need is that reward is spread out more evenly between he fractals and the last chest should primarily depend on your participation in previous fractals. So if you get kicked you get more loot of a better chance next time you finish all fractals.
Doing something like that would lead to massive abuse and exploitation. Think about it. You are in a group. PM someone and ask for kick at end. Then do another fractal and get much better rewards because you got kicked. Repeat for more and better rewards per run.
Yes that is correct about necros. PvP and WvW is where they shine, but in PvE and group dungeons and events they are less than useless.
I have to disagree (with an exception). When some of our guildies get together for dungeon/fractal runs every now and then. It’s usually 2-3 of us, and will pug for the extra(s) as needed. In rare cases have I seen a kick, even if they are horribad. We certainly don’t kick in favor of a guildie at the end. If guildie wants to run with us, they are going to have to wait until we finish run.
Yup, that. Sometimes you won’t be able to pull a full dungeon/fractal group from your guild (especially so if you’re in a smaller guild), making pugging necessary.
Exactly, but if everyone is avoiding groups with multiple members of the same guild, this can be VERY frustrating. They either join and quit when they see the same guild tag, or refuse to join.
you just joined at the wrong time. you are going to have a horrible time lvling your new character with stagnant progressions and skills/utilities locked away behind events you literally cant do because of your level and making cash has just been made harder
if you joined 5 months ago you could have bought 1k gems crafted to lvl 65 in a day then had fun to lvl 80 with all your unlocked skills and abilities.
If you’ve never played the game before, unlocking the Traits just might be an enjoyable challenge…. If you look at it as a chore then it’s going to be one. All your other complaints are from the view of a speed rush leveler…..I hope a new player does not approach the game with this attitude.
Correct me if I am wrong here, but isnt that how Traits were unlocked in GW1? (To be fair, it has been AGES since I played GW1)
Yes, doing quests was the way to unlock skills in GW1. It was recently added to GW2 with the change in the way trait points where awarded. You also have the option of buying them with gold too. However, if you are doing map completion on each zone, and taking your time and enjoying the game, you’ll unlock those traits no problem. I’ve unlocked a few on my alt, and didn’t even realize it.
“As a security guard I can assure you, we are not allowed to work more than 12hrs a day, we work 8 hour shifts, and only 12 to cover for someone who couldn’t make it in (called in sick etc.).”
Hehe.
This is a typical egoist thinking, because your work is so such as it in other county and/or workplace is not so. I worked and I have an acquaintance, then who work as security guard in 24 hours shift and he haven’t possibility to play. I live in Middle-Europe, in this country employers don’t observe this law, this a personal experience. Every day are only 12 hours working, hehe!
Be glad, that you have good workplace.
egoist? Not remotely. What you gave as an example is non typical in my part of the world. Even so, the examples that have been provided of the type of players that are effected by the “unfair” AP system, are a small minority. Even the most casual of casual gamers will find time to play the game, and do what they do to have fun. Thats why they are gamers. They enjoy video games/board games/tabletop RPGs/etc. and as such they play the game if/when they can simply because they find it entertaining. Not to chase some AP number that has ZERO meaning in, or out of, the game.
Also if you follow this thread, you’ll not find a SINGLE person who agrees that the “AP gap” is even an issue. I was talking to my wife about it yesterday (a brand new player) and she also agrees that no one should be able to get more AP quicker just because they joined the game late. I’ve also spoken to someone who ISN’T a gamer in the slightest, and THEY also agree that just because you’ve joined the game late, doesn’t mean you should be given the opportunity to gain AP faster to “get caught up”.
