Unless I missed something somewhere withdraw doesnt remove damaging condis like burn and poision?
and Im not seeing any condi removal in the trickery traitline according to dulfy :/
http://dulfy.net/2015/05/02/gw2-specialization-calculator-that_shaman/Did I miss some patch notes??
Withdraw removes Crippled, Chill & Immobilise as default, and a trait can remove an additional condition.
the no condi removal answer,
Tricks can remove conditions, and you have two new tricks now (Withdraw & Dagger Storm)

You need to contact Support to appeal against a suspension. Also, take the image off this thread as it’s showing your email address to log into the game, then change both your email password and your in-game password (make sure both passwords are different) as this is how a hacker can access your account.

Even though I have lost a couple of my characters’ builds, I do like this new system a lot more.
Luckily this has been fixed as since the June 23 patch, I’m once again hearing combat music during normal fights.
Yeah, it’s a common occurrence (and a common topic on these forums!) don’t worry about it. Just block, report. Delete the mail.
They were on for the same length of time as the black wings. The 24 hour window was not a surprise to most. Maybe in the future we’ll see both on the Gem Store at the same time, but to say it was swearword is a bit over the top, considering there was a timer showing on this item too!
I just received a mail from GM Andreina, saying my account would be suspended for 72 hours for selling gold. At the bottom of the window it says that this was sent by a player, not A-net.
I am worried because i was not logged on 7 hours ago, when this was sent. Also, i bought gems and converted gold to gems in the exchange with a small materials purge.
Is this legit, and if not who do i report to?
Hi,
Don’t worry it is a fake GM, which is a common occurrence and all you have to do to report them is click the [ ! ] button at the bottom of the page. As long as you haven’t gone to the fake link they sent you, you’ll be fine.
As far as I’ve seen, there won’t be any renowned hearts. The closest thing I think will be the Adventures, which unlike renowned hearts, are repeatable.
It might have been a bunch of S.J.W. defending there maidens honor
If you were speaking with this kind of attitude before you decided to vote to kick, plus if you just voted to kick without asking the rest of the team first, then I’m afraid I don’t blame them.
I’m not sure how you can report them if you were being nice, but if you’re voting without warning, you can’t honestly complain about someone going AFK without warning either. They could have had a phone call or someone at the door for all you knew.
They normally wish for all non-related bugs to be as separate threads, rather than all on one thread.
Also, probably best suited here:
It is beautiful. Thank you for this wonderfully designed New Lion’s Arch!
Did you notice that there are other sea life themed animal buildings too, such as the Squid Bank and the Starfish Crafting Stations?
Frankly the ‘Designers’ need to please explain what a giant lobster this has to do with the back story in this game ..
It’s like, a naval-based city. Lore-wise was taken over by pirates after the great flood. I would hardly say that a sea-life theme is a terrible design mistake!

Is this Thief specialisation confirmed then? The Yamsandjams Elite Specialisation?
“Ascended Gear will be staying 5% better than Exotic Gear. Gear beyond the tiers we already have are not going to be added and our existing tiers won’t change, they won’t be our main end-game form of progression for your characters/account for all the reasons we’ve covered before – it isn’t what we think Gw2 is about.”

ahh ok, i didn’t know i don’t keep up with the forums.
Aye, don’t worry about it.
To virtually everyone who don’t use the forums, it seems like a new thing when they get it the first time. But to people who use these forums every day, it’s almost a daily sight of someone posting about it.
It does show the good nature of people though, that they are willing to take time out of the game to warn people on this, so for that we should be grateful for the community the game has created.
Thanks for the warning – it is though, a well known thing, and virtually everyone who frequents these forums are aware already. Way to deal with is, as I suspect you’ve done is to report & block.
The Sticky Thread here has more information: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Please-Take-Care-with-In-Game-Mails
I would probably advise on hiding the name of the scammer, as it is most likely a stolen account, and that person may get their account back at some point. I know one person who I had blocked for this reason and I unblocked the scammer when it was obvious they got their account back.
Not only is it a blatant copy, but the position they’ve put that character in just to get sales… -.- Unscrupulous is too kind a word to describe this…
A quick update on this one -> After feedback from presenting the original hero point count – we decided getting to level 80 will give you enough hero points to unlock all the core skills and traits entirely. Doing hero challenges (aka skill challenges) will simply allow you to earn all the skills/traits earlier before level 80. With the release of HoT, there will be options to spend the excess hero points earned from doing hero challenges in the world.
There are a number of other changes on 6/23 to make the experience from 1-80 more exciting, better-paced, rewarding, and fun as well after having the time to evaluate and player feedback from the updates last year.

What? That sounds so stupid.
I would want work I do in core to matter to core, not expansions.
“Hey, you did all this work, but you won’t get rewarded unless you cash out additional money to us.”
Games – base games and expansions – should reward within their own system.
It might not necessarily mean you need HoT to spend the Skill challenges, just when HoT comes out.
I have 10 characters that now have 100% Map Completion in anticipation of tomorrow’s update. Was this for nothing?

Ok, after some initial shock, I re-read this, and I guess it’s not so bad.
I have 10 characters that now have 100% Map Completion in anticipation of tomorrow’s update. Was this for nothing?
No, map completion still gave you all that karma, hero points for elite specs, all of the waypoints unlocked on all of your characters, and the Gift of Explorations needed to make one of every single legendary weapon (in your case).
Not really much to complain about here. You will still need the excess hero points for Elite specs down the road, so it was not for nothing. Edit: you certainly didn’t need to do map completion to get enough hero points for the first elite spec either. The most you needed was originally somewhere around 67 skill challenges, which is less than a third of them all.
Thank you for the reply – I understand I didn’t need everything, but I was doing the map completion anyway instead of just getting certain things instead of skipping past content (skipping past Hearts, POI, Vistas for example just to get the skill challenges).
I still enjoy mapping and I will continue to do so, but I just felt that map completion was about to become a more significant thing than it has been recently, only to be knocked backed again. It still feels like a blow.

Hi,
Recently I’ve noticed that I am getting virtually no combat music when fighting, with the exception of World Bosses.
In the old days, it used to be triggered when a certain number of mobs and/or players are involved. Then recently it seemed to trigger when your character loses a substantial amount of health. Now it doesn’t seem to trigger at all.
I’m not sure if it’s just me being a [Mac] user, of if it’s affecting everyone. I think it’s probably been at least two weeks without ‘regular’ combat music, but could have been longer, and I’ve just not realised until recently.
Thanks.
Future glider, perhaps?
As a Brit, and a northern one at that, I have no problem them using the USA flag to denote ‘English Language’
I would be chuffed to bits if they did one day include a British option too, but I won’t lose sleep over it if they never do this, and there’s no need anyway.
After installing games from CD-Rom since 1996 that use the USA flag as language installation option, most Brits (and most other Europeans I imagine) are kind of used to it anyway.
It’s a package deal for new players. End of.
We should be welcoming of new players, not complaining. What kind of message are posts like the “It’s not fair on veteran players!” setting to new players? I’m finding it more and more disgusting the amount of contempt people are ‘showing’ towards new players.
When a new player comes into the game, I would rather them see “Welcome to Guild Wars 2” rather than “It’s not fair these new players getting a better deal than us” it just shoots the wrong message across of people’s attitudes.
To be clear, we are not targeting new players. This has nothing to do with them. Its about how ANET is treating the veteran players unfairly. You know what, I rather ANET just make the core game free for download for all people then to be added to the expansion. So that way new players and veteran players both pay same and will get the same things!
I understand you’re not targeting new players, but the message that is coming across is not a positive one for new players to see, that’s the point I’m trying to make.
It’s a package deal for new players. End of.
Oh yeah an exclusive package deal for new player now when it’s the only package announced ?
It’s not a that GW2 is a free bonus for HoT expansion or GW2 is included in the package anymore ?
Can you get that straight once & for all ?Can you tell me where is the offer for old player ?
Because I’m sure you know what Anet think.
Again, a nasty attitude showing contempt for new players, and you clearly disregarded the rest of my post.

You mean you want the full 50 or 100 to go directly to you right… ? I mean…isnt that what its all about…
No it’s not. If you read the full article he is telling everyone to be cautious of bogus websites claiming they have a Pre-Purchase already when they don’t – which can be a security issue for people’s accounts.
7 Days exclusivity is actually only a very short amount of time before it hits retailers, which is very reasonable I must say. They didn’t have to place Pre-Purchase to any retailer if they wanted to.
The need to hop on a bicycle to get to a local store for example, would hardly interfere with the economics of Waypoints and Asura gates. Not every merchant could/would set up at a waypoint or near an Asura gate.
That is indeed a valid point you have made.
However, if you take Divinity’s Reach for an example, virtually all the Waypoints that are currently in existence are within a 90 – 120 second walk with each other. So in The Reach at least, those distances would probably not warrant a bicycle trip.
On the other hand, when you take places such as Queensdale, the distance between each other are a little greater, which may warrant taking a bicycle with you.
But then, you have to take into account that Tyria is in a wartime situation too, in which it is not just possibly about distance covered, but also about safety too. If I were an apple merchant trying to get from Edna’s Orchard to Shaemoor, I would rather use the Waypoints from fear of banditry, than travel on bicycle.
That said, I am not dismissing bicycles 100% (or at all for that matter) – since there is also the fun factor with riding a bike! I think in “reality” a few bicycles would probably be dotted around Tyria, though probably only a fraction of what we might have “in real life”
(P.S. Again, to people outside this conversation, this is not a mounts, nor an anti-mounts thread! It is a question about lore! Please don’t grace us with that beating horse .gif!)
It’s probably a question that might be best being asked, and might get moved to: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lore as you’re asking a lore question.
However, I couldn’t answer you myself, but since there are Charr motorcycles, it stands to reason that the natural progression of transportation between horse carts that are seen by those and the Charr Motorcycles would be that one would have been made at some point.
But probably because of involvement of Asura gates and waypoints might have made it infeasible to mass-produce bicycles, as Waypoints & Asura Gates seem to be the most efficient mode of transportation.
(p.s. That was not an anti-mounts answer! A genuine theory on the lore of this subject!)
On a separate issue, when are they going to fix the bumps on Grenth High Road? It’s a trip hazard!!
Did I miss anything? Because this mess on the forms has got to stop
The only thing you missed was you made another thread about the topic!
But I agree. People can either like the deal or not like the deal, but the flooding of separate threads could do with being reigned in now.
Unsolicited Legal Advice to A.Net / NCSoft

The full terms and conditions are not on the advert, nor do they need to be. I’m sure when you purchase the game/pre-purchase that the full terms of service regarding the expansion pack are explained (that most people skip past and click “I Accept” anyway).
I’m not a lawyer, but I have worked in retail and I do know that advertising posters and such in retail are not required to show the full Terms & Conditions on an advertising/marketing poster, only during when purchase is being made.
The full terms of service link is available before you purchase is available at the bottom of the page when you click ‘Add to Basket’ and look like this:
“Privacy Policy Terms of Sale Cookies Cancellation Right Legal Notice”
So they are fully above board.
If you think it’s just some big massive, undercover marketing conspiracy then don’t buy it.

Operating System Mac OS-X 10.7.X or later
>snip<
as you can see the base game is 10.7.x better
My mistake then I guess, but regardless I still think you’ll be alright, since the Mac Beta is simply a Wine/Cider wrap emulating a Windows OS. I think they just put higher than standard Minimum System Requirements just to cover themselves.
I bought a vacuum cleaner when it was first out for £299 or so. Six months later it was on sale at £249 for Easter. It’s probably now only £199 now.
I once bought a CD of one of my favourite bands for £16 back in 1996. That band since released a box set which contained the same CD I bought, plus a CD with unreleased material for only £10.
It’s nothing new that things go cheaper. It’s not a marketing ploy.

The system requirements for the base game you are playing (I think) are now 10.8.x anyway, so if you’re running the base game on an OS less than that now, the chances are, I would say, quite high that you will be able to play HoT anyway.
Can’t say it’s for definite, but I think it’s likely you’ll be ok.

Apparently they give away the base game for free in order to help new players settle into HoT.
How that makes any god kitten sense, I don’t know. Your guess is as good as mine.
As in, you buy the Pre-Purchase as a player who has never played Guild Wars 2, and you get to play Guild Wars 2. When HoT is released, you get to play that too.
Guild Wars 2 HoT Release Date? [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: penelopehannibal.8947
You forgot to put the ™ at the end of Soon™ in your title, OP!
Seriously though, I suspect the reason why we don’t know a release, is because ArenaNet don’t have a release date yet. They want to make sure they got everything right before committing it seems.
I normally dont have problems with RP-ers, until last week when 10 of them from a certain rp guild upscaled an event i was doing and contributed nothing. They kept walking around there (Calledon forest, Scrit area with the ruins) for 30 minutes. Had to collect 100 datacrystals to get the event done and kill zilions of skritt.
Oh wow. It must have been a nightmare for you, being forced to finish that event, and all that extra loot you would have had to carry too! My word!
Seriously though, this thread is about someone trying to get into the RP community. It’s not about why RPers are such terrible people to you, so I don’t understand why you had to post this other than to seize an opportunity to have a go at a style of fun you don’t understand.
Rather than do the full completion, go for the skill point challenges first if you’re worried about the patch coming earlier than you need. There isn’t anything to worry about though. I’m working on my 10th too, so welcome to the no-lifer’s club.
I’m on Tarnished Coast.
And yeah that sounds a bit different than how it is here.
I wish I could help you then, I’ve never been to TC sorry. But still try my advice anyway, the gw2rp site has in the Forums a directory that’s divided into PS and TC sections, with recruiting guilds there showing their RP descriptions, to make it a little easier to find the type of RP you’re looking for.
Best of look on your journey though and I hope you find your guild and roleplay very soon.
Are you Piken Square or Tarnished Coast? Because I can promise you that roleplayers on Piken Square are certainly not cliquey. I can’t say for certain about Tarnished Coast, since I’m not on there.
Also, I would recommend to anyone who is struggling to find RP simply first of all, ask politely in map chat if there are any RP guilds (in Piken Square at least, nobody will bite your head off) and also try joining http://www.guildwars2roleplayers.com if you haven’t already done so, as there’s an RP guild directory.
About 15 minutes ago, two people came into map chat saying “wow, so many RPers!” as they had just joined Piken Square for WvW reasons. We welcomed them with open arms.
The thing with HotM is, lore-wise, it’s The Mists! Mere mortals can just “re-build” The Mists! But it could do with a re-vamp all the same, maybe some otherworldly cataclysm that re shaped the area perhaps, or made it larger/smaller/fused with other chunks of The Mists.
You get a chance of a hairstyle kit through black lion chests as well, which you can get for free by doing certain personal story steps, or a chance of a key via map completion.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

you guyz are getting a Rifle, deal with it
R . I . F . L . E .
No. Please no!!
No rifles. Thief has enough ranged weapon skills as it is. Probably already more than melee if you include skills like Dancing Dagger on off-hand dagger, and Shadow Shot. To have 5 more ranged skills will not be very rogue like. There are a lot of potential great melee skills the thief could be given, than pointing a long stick at enemies and firing once every few seconds.
I’m sorry to sound a bit dramatic, but people calling out for Rifle Thief are starting to sound like people asking for that M-Word in the forums!
