missed a bit of a debate nachtnebel i dont find it fun navigating around enemies. thats the point, i dont mind kiting and whatever but i want a straight up fight. when i see something hostile i want to kill it. i even regularly kill non threatening rabbits raccoons and tropical birds. they did a decent job with the battle mechanics and i like using them but when ever battle needs to be methodically approached exploiting aggro zones and AI weaknesses it becomes time consuming and boring. save that kitten for dungeons. the world should be one big battle with sprinklings of difficult areas. when im in orr after about an hour i just want to run past enemies because they take too long to kill solo. im sorry i know its doable but it isnt fun. its tedious, and this is a game.
the underwold clock tower game should be really fun. but im just wondering if anet wanted the camera to be part of the challenge. more often than not i jump blind after the first phase as my camera inexplicably decides to go from distant to close in an instant. so close it usually clips my own character.
all im asking for is if youre going to do an event like that make it a fixed camera or at least give us the option to allow the camera to go through walls.
i like the game and i like the idea… but i cant play it because the camer makes skill something beyond mine. and thus what should be fun isnt.
another thing with that event is griefing. i play as an asura and other players were summoning druids and elementals to block the veiw. and having large human norn and char characters blocked me and the jumps i was trying to make. even with the broken camera i might have made it a few times were it not for griefing. maybe separate the races next time so large and small races remain seperate. something tells me a lot more people will play asura then.
serioysly though fun game idea reminds me of a fusion frenzy minigame.
finally people like minded like me. i noticed this about 3 weeks in
the mad rush to level 80 satisfied so many wow noobs that think being level 80 is the best then gear grind. they all left and as much as i hate to say it i miss them and wish they werent allowed to level so quickly.

another benifit to making solo players stronger is that areas where you need other people need to have higher reward and are therefore more likely to be farmed. in difficult areas they get farmed because you get reamed if you go solo. so you up the rewards and you get farmers and then your entire population inhabits a small area. stop this by making the individual more powerful when solo. everyone will explore everwhere i promise. just make unique drops in each area. i e crafting materials. and only make one drop availible there. by all means grive weapon and junk drops. but only give bolts or fragments of whatever in one area and only one type of resource nodes. also make more types of resource nodes. people will flock to the drops they want. and not everyone wants the same thing. myself i dont want to look like everyone else. think about it anet. people will join in events even if it makes them slightly weaker but the overall event easier with teamwork. maybe make combos more numerous and more powerful to make a partner more desirable .
im bumping this thread because anet obviously isnt listening. who the hell cares if i can attack an npc from where it cant attack back unless its a boss or champion. i just fought a frenzied oger that was regenerating faster than 12 stacks of bleeding. what the kitten a net fix your god kitten game.
i know anet is strongly against this, and dynamic events would become less appealing if another players approach weakend you individually but made the overall event easier. but its a failed experiement. i cant explore certain areas of your world. i cant do it. because i cant beat certain event bosses or navigate certain terrain because the obsticales you put there are meant for group events. i play solo. dont get me wrong id love to have people there to play with me but at best they join near the end of an event or kill a few enemies just to get some credit and then leave an event . leaving me to struggle a hopeless battle in an area meant for more than one person when no one but me wants to do it.
i like playing with others. but i dont like to grind the same events over and over. i like exploring not memorizing certain event chains. i cant do these things fully because you made it too hard for a solo player. you lower the level of players to suit the area. why not lower the level of monsters to suit the number of players in an area.
dungeons are for groups of players. not solo players. every day navigating of the map is for everyone. so everyone should be able to go everywhere right? wrong. try killing every enemy on every area of every map and tell me how long it takes and how many times you died. ill await your reply sometime next year and expect a long number.
the solution is to make individual players stronger or monsters weaker (and much lesser reward i do this for exploration not prizes) and to reward players that explore areas as a group. you made dungeons have lesser rewards for repeated completions. do the same for dynamic events. if someone or namely bots want to do events over and over again make exploration more appealing. just keep rewards acceptable so i dont go bankrupt if i need repairs. help me anet. i want to play your game, all of it.

pretty simple i lost all of my guilds upgrades and influence only had lvl 1 of each thing…. which im now re-researching. its just me in my guild but this has happened a few times. is there some sort of influence and upgrade reset im unaware of? i couldnt find anything that suggested there is. and yes i earned all that myself. just check my character levels and play times if you doubt my claims.
then only the target should be able to see them. that would be fair

simple dont lose your target on down. i use auto targeting and have diede because i auto aquired a new target on down and had to try to find the same target with the frustrating camera zoom when getting downed. even though if i kept the same target i could have killed it and saved myself. please its a simple fix but very frustrating.
they should introduce “set items” like in diablo, granted the runes are like set items but much easier to obtain. and they should be availible for all classes every 10 levels.
yes i love when im solo and attack 1 thing and then 4 guys are immediatly on me. its a lot of fun because i know im just going to die and cant play that area because no one else is around. and also im higher level than the area im in so i have really low stats for my area adding to the challenge. and i love challenge i wish i was still fighting the first enemy i encountered 2 months ago.
and i also like knowing that theres enough things in the world i cant do solo that they deserve their own area of the map. call it "this area should only exist in prime time when everyones on.
the population count is kitten if im solo reduce the challenge. please anet. i cant make people follow me around im sorry. and i want to do all the things on the map. even a few dynamic events are off limits for solo players wtf?
merge the worlds or reduce the difficulty.
anet seriously. this is becomming game breaking. fix it fix it fix it. fix it right now. not tommorrow not the day after. how much sucess have you had with invulnerability? shadow form? my point exactly your aggro is way off and invulnerability seems random at times and is game breaking. you need to fix it now.
Make tools have a lower chance to break when used on lower-quality nodes

its a good idea and a reasonable one as well. but how many of you would buy copper harvesting equipment if it were implemented? i sure wouldnt if the other ones were better and less inventory space. so no i wouldnt want it.
a higher level cap reduces value of top teir gear for the new higher level gear. higher leverls are usually a grind just to get them to wear the new gear. theres more but thats the main points. grinding a lower vaulue current gear. the benifits your character can be “stonger” but in a game where lvl is scaled and against the players favor more often than not. this advantage doesnt exist.
invisible bags are easy to make. a low level one just needs glittering dust and leather bolts of just or copper ingots. make your own problem solved. and youre welcome.
im just asking the community what they think and trying to get some feedback as to what you think. for future expansions i dont want to see the level cap raised. the reason being is armor and weapons availible now at the top teir will lose their value if this is done once level 80 is no longer the cap. the game will boil down to a gear grind for top teir items every expansion going 5 to ten levels at a time. this takes something away from the guys that have invested real money (i havent for gear anyway) into obtaining the gear they have.
by all means add new items with different skins to grind for. im not saying dont add new items im just asking that the old ones still be relevant. gw 1 came down to a grind for armor skins that looked cool. and it worked while not feeling nessecary. i personally never got chaos gloves or destroyers. many did but i never needed too.
so given those point my question is simple, would you still want an expansion to introduce a higher level cap with the full knowledge that the top teir items everyone now has will become undesireable or at least less desireable.
Finally, an armor skin that doesn't make me look like a boy...oh...

man if youre finding grief about none feminim armors im going to complain about dye. theres no way to pull off looking manly with a coral and pink armor. no one wants to look dainty and pretty on the battlefield. they want to look like a kitten. and some fruity flower get up isnt going to do that. on the other hand you play the game too and it is what you seem to want. im just saying if you get your way i want my way too. i want an armor so spikey and impractical with a sword so large it will destroy you all.
totally different scenario, while i agree more endgame loot in terms of variety is always nice. diablo 3 is gear dependent. you need it. gw 2 is not. i have a level 80 character with some lvl 40 accessories and no level 80 gear and he does just fine. im sure more end game items will arise but they arent nessecary like they are in d3 so it isnt an issue.
i hope they put mounts in and they have to be fed money or they die.
i would love that feature too…. i hate mousing to skills then to the terrain.
if this were to be implimented then the taxee’s participation should be voluntary.you might be able to guilt or bribe some people into it. but my gold only goes to me. you can keep the influence.
i wouldnt agree with this if we could pick all our own skills but we cant. so it needs to be addressed

why arent more outfits purchasable from vendors for a dozen gold or something or individual pieces from a karma vendor.

this game has only recently come out and im finding it incredibly difficult to make a party to do even 1 dungeon. please for the sake of all us pug’ers let us join a queue in which the pug individuals just wait until 5 people want to do the same thing either story mode or explore . finding a party to complete my personal story is way more difficult than it should be.
i hate the npcs why am i the only one. id rather they took out 90% and increased the zone limit. at least if you tell a player to get stuffed they sometimes give a reaction beyond ignoring you. with npcs there is no such response
i really hope this doesnt go to the realm of asuran mankini’s and bikini’s its an unsettling thought.
hey anet i really like your dynamic events. i really like exploring, and i dont like rushing through the game. but i can only go where everyone else goes because my character cant do many of the later events solo. which i almost always am unless i stick to the same path as everyone else.
im not asking for increased rewards. theyre fine the way they are. i just want the game to be playable if no ones there to help me. give me bonus armor or reduce stats or amounts of enemies. i dont have godly gear but would like to take down a risen megalodian shark but no ones ever there. and no one that is there stays there long enough for a group to be formed because the shark will rip thier kitten open. and who wants to sit and wait to play a game? not me and its what your avoiding. i garuntee if you empower the solo player for events passers by will join them. i would. keep their hps high if you want but dont allow solo players to go down quickly in events untill more players join them and are activly participating. like 5 seconds into zone.
i really want to play your game. all of it. others may have their favorite events and thats great for them. but farming bores me and so does running past an event i know will just cost me money if i try.
and yes for the trolls i know you can do every event easily and i just suck. youre amazing at video games and im not. too bad they dont pay you to do that and troll or youd be rich.

lots of people rushing for endgame content. make 3 servers that can only fight one another in wvwvw. and make them start at level 80 and all content the same level.
i wouldnt play on these servers but i notice around level 50 content im usually alone all the time on a nearly full server. and killing enemies grants 200 bonus exp because no one else bothers to go there. and i cannot do any of the events as theyre too hard solo.
dont allow transfers from these servers either except to other lvl 80 ones. just give them what they want. all high level content. gw 1 did that right. and even though they might deny it all the gear grinders want is to find the golden gear and brag about it. also to encourage exploration make the drops cycle from area to area to encourage exploration on a weekly basis so one area is not repeatedly farmed for certain items.
just a thought.
the decreased amount of supplies is a very good idea. supplies you can carry and store should reflect the amount of players you have .
and decrease costs as well for items you can create if outmanned.
i would definetly play if i could make some unmanned seige weaponry solo if up against overwhelming odds. at least then i could have an impact rather than just being the fox in a fox hunt.
rika that is exactly my point. i dont feel like a hero at all. i dont even feel like i contribute as battles are always grossly in one sides favor. at least if i could take an unattended other than npcs fort on my own with out investing a huge amount insome cool but expensive seige weapon. in 5 minutes. then battles would be spread out and much more interesting.
i WANT to enjoy pvp but i DONT. and im not alone when i write that. they have to fix it, or players like me will leave once pve has gotten boring. where are the internet wide ravings about how awesome gw pvp is ? i bet i could find 10 more for every one that state it isnt.
i believe it could be which is why im saying this. but if they do nothing then yes gw 2 will die and ill only play it when i dont want to play gw 1. the only games i have installed. it is different and takes some adjustment. but that periode is over. time after time i see the same thing. outnumbered on either side. no teamwork on one side or both. or excellent teamwork on one side destroying the other. this isnt balanced it isnt even close. but most importantly it isnt fun and it should be.
Hello anet, ive done nothing but complain about your pvp choices since release. i played gw 1 to death over several accounts. and you know what kept me there? FA and JQ. they werent total pvp but you could pvp or cap shrines. i like capping shrines. in gw2 i dont enjoy either. im usually mobbed as i wander alone or i cant kill a group of 3 npcs. NPCS!!! why cant i kill a computer opponent in a match?
and pvp i dont even bother. i dont find it fun trying to organize people in the game or even following a leader. in gw 1 the objectives were clear and the teamplay while there didnt need to be dictated. i have no idea what the hell i can do in wvw on my own. youve turned it into a massive pug where very few know what to do and wont join you if you want to go off from the main to assualt a smaller fort to draw attention.
fix it fix it fix it. why? because after im done with pve i wont come back if i cant play pvp. pvp is the lifeblood of any game i play. but im helpless on my own and people are too uncooperative to be relied on.

please anet, approach this carefully and correct it. realize most pvpers will be people on their own like me just as in the first one. and teamwork is a hassle in pvp. if you make the individual more useful then if someone passes by me attacking a fort of npcs theyre more likely to join me because theyll know it wont be a fruitless battle. and if they join itll happen much quicker. but i wont even start attacking a fort if theres no point.
fix it or your community will die and quicker than you think. pvp is a huge draw but right now its awful and unapproachable. the ultra hardcore may be happy with it barking commands on microphones and swarming unaware noobs like myself because no one on my team will work with me. is it really that much fun for them either? fighting enemies that cant defend themselves.
also i know its been said to death. but the spike on theives is totally out of wack. youre not attracting players to your game. think of who you would attract if everyone that played raved about how good pvp was?
