i can’t shadow step to a foe in the silverwastes which is a bit underneath and in range.

e. g. you are in one of these lanes on the upper side but you can not port to a foe which is in the mid of that lane. i don’t know what others did and how the abused it but this is just ridicilous.

i won’t have a problem if a weapon is used again within a new specilization. if it is done in a different way. e. g. the thief could become a shadowdancer dual wielding swords with whirl on it. dancing style animation.

many times in this game you have to face a foe from the distance and sometimes melee so you should be able to choose an switch while in combat.

Self rooting MELEE skills need to go.

i agree. the droprate is to low. you can buy a lot of keys but shovels are the problem.

the trinity is: might, fury, vulnerability and professions that are easily able to do at least one on a regular basis.

If you did a dungeon or other content with perma fury and might you will see a difference and that difference is just to big.

I would limit fury to 5s. Might and vulnerabilty to 5 stacks. With that the game would be a bit more fair.

Currently the profession looks rather weak from a pve pov.

Hammer does not do that much damage. #2 Req. position for max damage which does not increase quality to me. Reasons: It makes gameplay or positioning more complex so it’s more focusing am i standing in the right way or should i go further away then on focusing on what the targeted foe does.

Mace with torment will be strong in PVP where you run a bit more and you keep moving a lot more. In PVE i say no chance in hell at least not as the damage weapon #1.

I know we haven’t seen all trait lines und new runes, sigils, etc.

I’ll guess it’s designed that way. However i agree. A workaround would be the change of weapons outside of combat manually.

My concerns are that the profession does not do enough damage. From what i’ve seen hammer ain’t that great. And sure you can argue and say it’s a ranged thing. And i know it is not a finished product.

Also mace and axe. In PVP it might be great to have torment on that weapon but in pve in melee range it is not that powerful.

Yet again some game mode discrepancies. Who would have thought that they occure?

Where is the revenant better then other professions?

I mean the warrior buffs in an offensive way, the guardian in a defensive. Whats the position of the revenant? We have mesmer and ranger doing decent damage at range. The elementalist can do a lot of damage at range and in melee and buff offensive like no one else…

Looks like the revenant will be on top of all cripple professions. Beating the mesmer without any access to a speed buff. I mean no shouts, no signets maybe no trait.

Whats with melee vs ranged. Some content should been done ranged other in melee without a weapon switch it is impossible to do certain content. e. g. Champion Risen Drake Broodmother

If the vine event would should start every hour or at a fixed hour.
Usually people are not doing the events (capturing, defending) instead they use a taxi. Its also keeping me to much in that area. But thats just me.

Maybe turn it into a world event so it will be still done in the future.

Protection is useful where there is damage to be mitigated. As such it can be necessary on PvE in pugs or harder content like fractals. Its a flat %33 damage decrease permanently with hammer, can’t get any better then that I think.

But these situations are rather rare. The best way to mitigated damage, now, and in pve, is to kill that foe fast. And therefore it’s the holy trinity: fury, might, vulnerabilty and professions that provide that boons more frequently then others and not the professions that add protection and/or regeneration.

Please change hammer auto-attack!

The hammer AA attack speed is horrible in pve especially if you have players nearby. They simply steal your kill while you watch the animation.

And protection is rather useless in pve except killing champions alone. Where is it currently usefull? Game mode? Dungeon?

However it is great to pose with an awesome looking hammer in that manner.

The best would be changeable skills. So you could choose 1 out of 3 or 5.

1. Its physics on land and water are different. ie obstacles like a hill etc. Underwater they are trown at the target while on land you have to manually aim on the ground.

2. increase the attackspeed, attack the body like in underwater, reduce damage

I agree. It would make the game a bit easier because you have a pet for PVE so you won’t die that fast.

So a change in PVE would be ok for me.

Every other skill has auto attack so grenade kit simply deserves it as well. Its just a mess for players.

Grenade kit is just excluded from auto because they have trouble realising it. If they wouldnt, it would be already in.

Game Updates: Traits

I would overhaul the system and create 3 trait lines

- offensive
- hybrid/mix
- defensive

I would merge all those damage into one an put it into the offensive line and put the other traits into the lines where they fit the most.

How to get these traits: map completion, or boss/chamion kill, karma, gold, story, dungeon. , = or

With that system the whole trait environment gets simplified and you can get it the way you want to get those traits.

Another idea is
- offensive
- defensiv
- profession specified for more class uniquess.

Half the toughness gained. Add +15% damage to the trait (delete the other 15% damage trait) Combine with the 33% burning duration trait as one elite trait.

My ideas:
Flame blast: 5 targets are hit.
Napalm: Turn it into an AOE field with a lot more damage so the recharge time of 30s is worth it.

The real problem in PVE is the foe design. Behaviour (AI: flee, attack, call reinforcements, damage, conditions). As long as it will be physiscal damage there will always be physical damage professions played. Since when do you really want to face the condition damage problem? And this is as old as the game.

So go ahead discuss or tell how you want the professions to be. You already posted it here in the forms.

I choose professions by their effectivness. And so do many. At least in PVE. Sure you can say those professions are in a balance/or used overall. What if you add the played time to the professions. I bet warrior and guardian win.

Just one point or a question to that philosophy. What do you developers see as a weakness a warrior is having in PVE. And if you find one how crucial is or are those weaknesses.
