It’s fair to respect the requirements of the lfg post. I’ve seen a lot of lfgs for arah lately with things like “first time” and “no skip kill everything” which I find quite a progress.
How do you prevent crusher from 1shotting people?
The real unfortunate occurance is being paired with guardians who believe they actually do the stuff you’ve said.
If you range mobs that attack in meele you’re obviously exploiting.
OP..if troll 7/10 if srs 0/10
Or you know, stop staying right in it’s face. Just stay like at max meele range and it’s impossible to miss.
Use fillers for whiteknights. It’s easy.
Zerker war has 18k hp. A 20k will kill it. It will not do more damage than thief/ele.
Other classes are wanted, just not necro.
You probably will be able to double click them and convert into 15 fractal relics.
Playing as a support so you can support bad players isn’t really fruitful. You don’t seem to understand how the game works, and instead, try to mold your own lackluster vision of some wasteful scenario to reality. I’m also not knocking Necros, but rather the imbecile that I’m talking to.
On behalf of many players including myself,
Sorry were not all as epic at you. Ill go hang myself
and nerd rage quit so you have one less “imbecile” to deal
with while your concurring the evil of Tyria!!!!!LMAO
Give me a break. Different situations and goals for different people.
Somehow I felt it was more important to do things like maintain
a relationship with my GF, get outside for some exercise
and see friends face to face instead of being glued to my computer
hunting and learning all the in and outs of GW2. Spending months
of time and money crafting my legendary weapon just so I can AFK in
LA showing it off or shooting other people with flying ponies. Researching
my toons ability’s to be all I can be in GW2Other people want to kill the most magic dragon in game
and spends hours upon hours grinding to craft some super weapon
so they can leave cute little rainbows under their feet when they walk.
Boasting about how epic they are and their latest kills.
I could care less … but you don’t see me calling them names
or knocking them for their style of game play.I play a casual game in a casual guild with a couple of friends.
If I play a little more then with said casual friends, I pug it.
If I want to do a little more then continually wipe, die and spend gold
on repairs, I go support. You will never see me in end content and honestly
…. I really don’t care. Its not going to be my end life legacy. Its my 52 dollars. I play how I like. If you don’t like it… cry me a river
and stop trolling my posts
The most important parts are in bold. Also grats for having a GF.
Well instead of trinity you get septinity:warrior, mesmer, guardian, thief, elementalist, ranger, engineer.
The animation is nowhere near lupi’s kick. You can expect it mostly and even if he double-kicks you still can see it pretty easily.
For archdiviner, the fact that he changes aggro randomly and stops from time to time then suddenly attacks a random person from meele range with a large cleave makes him quite annoying. I am speaking of the second incarnation obviously, the first one is extremely easy to meele for some reason. Maybe I’m crazy and they’re the same.
The agony attack is easy mode, it doesn’t even have to be reflected.
I heard they had permaweakness but that got nerfed.
I mele archdivinier in pugs on lv 49 on my full zerker s/f guardian so cliffside really isn’t a problem, but dredge… dredge… is a pain to say the least. A ton of un-avoidable 1 hit kill attacks coming your way!
How exactly do you meele the second archdiviner?
You have to get halfway between two horizontal lasers then move a bit forward. If you practice you’ll be able to do it every time.
Wardens work pretty well for the pull, so does feedback and curtain might work too. Guardian’s wall doesn’t. I keep hearing people that staying inside the wall or right behind it works but in my short tests it was not the case. Shield does work but we all know it sometimes kitten s around and stops for brief periods of time.
As a safe bet, stay at max meele range and watch the animation for the pull(a little crouch and spin), dodge it twice backwards. If anyone fails the dodge, you should still be pretty far away and escape unharmed. Keep in mind that the actual blast radius is about 10-20% larger than the red circle.
The fight is actually very forgiving on mistakes and even if everybody gets downed, as long as you’re safe from the spinballs the whole party can revive from downed state.
I don’t recommend ranging because it’s actually harder. If one person gets hit by the ball it bounces and results in a party-wide downed state which the 2nd ball will take care of in 90% of the cases.
mecha Lupicus.
YESPLEASE
But the reason was probably people unlocking this wp in path 1 to make the skips easier.
Which they did because no WP at tar is kittened.
Missile Deflection
Also warriors can’t swim.
Don’t worry OP. Keep joining those “exp only” groups because most aren’t experienced anyway so they won’t notice. You’ll learn everything in no time.
About “warriors only”, there’s a very good reason for that. Pugs love themselves some warriors and they mostly run berserker gear. This is so deeply set in their minds that some people just call warriors “zerker” for some silly reason. Chances of seeing a ranger without bow/axe is abyssmal and carrying said ranger around isn’t so bad but between piercing arrows and pet AI being kittened you’re looking at aggroing the whole map at once.
Well assuming you can only keep scholar with AH using staff..you gain 10% deeps but lose like more than 50% because staff is a kitten weapon that deserves to be deleted just as the AH trait.
Applying boons to heal is a highly stupid idea. There is the greatsword heal, the hammer symbol heal, virtue of resolve passive when traited and even regeneration/life steal foods. Hell, you can run food, hammer symbol and virtue of resolve at the same time and still suck less than the AH crowd.
PS: Dying in cof is very easy. For example at the first boss of p1 when people decide to akf range while you get burned to death.
The day AH will be removed will be the day 90% of PVE guards will improve significantly.
Why do you call them branches? Who does that? They’re PATHS.
Yes.
Also warrior is the highest dps my hundred blades crits for like 300k.
Ele blinds?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sandstorm 12 ticks AoE blind lasting for 11 seconds
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Thunderclap_%28Lightning_Hammer_skill%29 AoE blind every few secondsThere’s no excuse to use Signet of Air in fights
I use it for the extra stun break. Usually the 2 is more then enough, but I like to have the extra insurance if I mess up. Sure I could bring Mist Form or Glyph of Elemental Power, but I like the 25% speed when swiftness isn’t up.
Oh Em Gee, I totally forgot about stunbreak. Well there you go. Aoe blind AND a stun break? It’s also great because you can arrive first to the various bosses and be all like “first!” while they’re like “darn it! ele is op!”
I, for one, enjoy contested dungeons. They really add up to the immersion.
It’s also highly realistic. Imagine having to go to the store. You can’t just teleport there, you have to fight through either traffic or the endless hoard of noobs. Every grocery run is an adventure, as is opening a dungeon.
But why people use signets of 25% movespeed on dungeons and boss fights. That is all i want to know.
aoe blind on 30s cd? yes please.
Stacking is obviously an exploit. So is using meele all the time. So is “skipping”.
step1: delete necro
step2: make warrior
solved.
sarcasm————forum people———→>>>>
Actually I just managed to solo Alphard just to prove that even after the buffs he’s still pretty easy. It was an afk fight to be honest. I have no idea why are you complaining. Pics attached.
That quest thats is showing in your pic “Navigate the labyrinth of arah” is up, which means you didnt get to Lupicus, so you cheated!
If you look at his combat log… he was using a trident to kill Alphard.. so he somehow pulled her far enough to probably just AFK attack it to death.
It’s photoshop mate.
Problem with necros is that even if their dps is on par with any other class the minimal utility they provide can be done by other classes like blinds by thieves and guards, reflects by guards and mesmers, vuln by engis etc. The “AoE damage” necros provide is a joke and I won’t even discuss “AoE healing”. Maybe weakness but I heard that got nerfed or something.
Also dagger is mandatory and it doesn’t cleave so they’re not so useful in killing silver thrash.
But the most important reason for the necro hate is that most of them are the equivalent of the archetipal bearbow but with conditions and it breaks my heart when i see them afk with staff auto. At least the staff guards are closer to meele so they don’t ruin pulls while being just as useless.
Don’t get me started with the random fear.

+1 to this request.
Particularly if the devs either pug, or better, set up one party member to be under geared. Not sorely undergeared, just 5-10 AR too low (because you often get people with a little less AR).
Bonus points if they don’t use ascended or legendary weapons in the party at all.
I don’t care if they’re full ascended/legendary best in slot everything. Even 70 AR just no dev trinkets that give like 9000 toughness. At least the platform puzzle part. They’ll be forced to stack thieves and tank wars/guards so every necro/ranger will qq here like crazy because they’re not meta.
On the same idea, doing 43 grawl. Or dredge really for that matter.
(edited by robertul.3679)
Stop with the bows. Javelin is the way to go. Bows on guards is silly. All the other weapons on guard are silly except warhorn(offhand anyways) and axe(no, the stupid ranger throwing axe doesn’t count as ranged).
Deadeyes. Technicians.
Dodging after 2s and stability is like top notch pro? In p2 after the first fail at the end mobs fight eachother.
2 guildies are already an issue and they sometimes grief like hell(I got kicked as wraithlord got to less than 10%). One of them was a mesmer and failed feedback twice at lupi yet they raged that I dared to run away when the air float aoe occured. kittenbags will be kittenbags.
It’s more. Like 30min or so.
Just say “meele lupi grub=kick” and you’ll be fine. More often than not you can see how bad people are if they don’t know how to skip so you can leave pretty soon(later for p3).
I’d rather see them do grawl on 43
But a definite yes to seeing developers/QA-people tackling their own challenges!
49 is actually the easiest from the 41 to 49 fractal instabilities in my opinion.
So I wouldnt be too interested in that one.
How is 49 easier than 47? No, really explain it to me. Losing 10% dps(or more) is better than not using elites which are pretty useless beyond timewarp and warbanner?
If you’re a good thief as you say, I’d stick with it. There’s no better feeling sometimes in fractals than having a good thief. However, there’s no worse feeling in dungeons and /or fractals than having a bad thief.
I always feel a little nervous when a pug thief comes in, but I gotta say I never have that feeling if it’s a guardian. That might just be a bias I have, but I’ve run with many bad thieves. But last weekend, I met an amazing thief, and I have to say without them my day would not have gone as smooth.
When it’s a thief in pugs I’m like “please don’t be p/p or sb condition build with vitality trinkets!!” because for some reason every kitten thief thinks it’s a good idea to stack vitality for defense.
When it’s a guardian I pray to whatever gods are there he/she isn’t a god kitten bunker/support build camping staff and mace/shield.
I’d still take condition thieves over bunker guards because they do at least some damage.
Why is arah p3 considered easier than p2 is beyond me. The mechanics are more annoying (crusher, final boss). The skips are very easy though.
And as for gear i already know my old pure zerker off by heart and already had the exotic trinks and rare backpieces all zerker and all with zerker components in them that’s what gives my current class most of it’s damage the rest comes from traits but The also the reason i thought it’s take a couple days instead of buying it because i only ever play exotics (lvling my fractles atm to get ASC stuff) but yeah i can change to full zerker and if you’re one of the people that get really mad in all the time i’m sorry but i don’t want to run with you we wouldn’t make any mistakes therefore you wouldn’t get mad but when i was new to guild wars (just hitting 80) those people did nothing but yell at you for every mistake when it’s your first time in the dungeon without even telling you what to do.
I have never personally seen anyone get made at someone new to a dungeon path UNLESS they don’t speak up at the beginning and say they are new to the path. People always think they can get by without saying something, but often times there is at least one spot that you can tell they have never been there before.
Pretending to know the dungeon is how I really learned most of the dungeons. Just reading wiki and watching youtube videos before because I didn’t want to be a big burden to everybody. Then I just did what everyone else did. Only one guy noticed in COE because I kinda failed to dodge Alpha sometimes while getting used to counting.
Those dungeon finder guilds where you dont have to rep never work for precisely that reason.
I can’t completely agree with that. At least in EU our secondary guild “Fractal Riders” [FOTM] works the way it’s intended – to play actively with other skilled players Fractals of the Mists!
Maybe it works because we aren’t a mass guild with 200+ players and the guild members (currently 38) are only invited after a “skill check”. But in the end it fullfills its duty.
I am in such a fractal finder guild and it’s pointless because it doesn’t have any skill check. Anyone can apply for it and I’ve seen bads in it and actually ran with “support” guardians with mace/shield and other similar builds. It’s worse than lfg since in lfg you can at least specify some stuff beyond “hi..fractal xx?”
If you actually have an experienced people guild focusing on fractals I’d love to learn more about it.
If you are in meele jump as soon as he hits the ground. It’s very forgiving. Also the fight is a dps check.
There are already guilds dedicated to fractals on both servers. The EU one is kinda bad though..more like lfg than anything else.
Zerkers don’t go down that much in good groups. Also aggro mechanics are not based on defense except ettins maybe.
You don’t want to change gear to elitist suggestions but you are willing to change your sleep schedule?
Since it is impossible to prove causality in this scenario and many others the answer is “nope”
Since the most heard complaint is the fact 1 guardian makes fractal WAY easier.
Why didn t they test it at 50 without guardians just to prove the game is balanced?
(answer: because its not)
Because obviously you need at least 1 guardian to tag all the mobs at higher levels or they just break combat and reset. Common knowledge really. I guess staff necromancer covers the tagging a bit so you could theoretically run with 2 staff necros instead. But then you lose swifness and empower.
This game doesn’t need more town clothes. They are a terrible idea but this is a different topic.
Going over level 50 wasn’t for rewards(spoiler: there aren’t any!)
Having the same title for everybody 50+ is messing up with people at 80.
Having different titles based on tiers is messing up on people who were going to progress but realized they didn’t have the time(1 week notice is bull..stuff).
Leaderboards are still in the area of “who cares?”.
Devs allowed people to progress to level 80. This is a non-issue. Putting a hardcap(i.e. straight up blocking, like 80+ is) on 50+ would justify others in screaming “exploit!”. Not the case.
Also, saying the majority can do whatever it wants and the minority has to accept it is pretty much how people used to justify racism/xenophobia/[insert discrimination criteria].
A real compensation would be to let people opt out of the ranking/leaderboards and allow them to keep leveling up to 80 or keep on doing level 79. Someone said somewhere they could just call these fractal 2.0 and make them a different instance which in my opinion is a great idea. Call it something awesome like “fractured fractals” or whatever if bone injuries are something epic apparently.
If the new instabilities or whatever are they called are more casual-friendly people who progressed to 80 will just plow right through them, get to 50 and say “now what?”. If they are harder then there’s no point in them since very few people will be able to actually do them hence not justifying the new content.
Most of the mmorpgs are already a gear grind fest and if they make GW2 the same thing people will just move to the more popular one(yes, I mean WoW). For people who desire skill/tactics there are already better options like LoL or something.
Bottom line, it’s going to become carebear casual land soon enough.
I am fully aware that you lose 1% dps on gs and gain 4% on sword but I was thinking the extra 150 power might compensate for that, obviously in situations where unscathered is not an option.
