What your asking is that they aren’t outfits. There are many armour sets in the gem store that are not ‘outfits’. I do agree with you, I’m just saying we’re asking ‘outfits’ to not exist here, and for gem store outfits to just be armour sets like Primeval etc. Unless those older armour sets are now outfits too (they aren’t for the ones I already purchased).

Why I preferred the end of S1

in Living World

Posted by: sazberryftw.3809

sazberryftw.3809

The large scale, open world events as story content are gone because they were temporary. Everyone moaned and moaned about the temporary nature of LS1. Sure, it now means we have instances instead, but it’s much better than missing a month and never getting to play it ever again, and therefore no idea what went on. The open world events are being included just not as a direct part of the story (Dry Top events). T5/6 Dry Top requires serious organisation of open world play.

They never specifically stated the impact on players for the issue. Just because they’re global doesn’t necessarily mean that players no longer have to guest.

I’m sure people would prefer clarification rather than to go do guild missions expecting they’ll get credit regardless of their server but then miss out on them.

I guess we will receive clarification, but I don’t think you will have to guest.

A question for Anet:

Will members who are not from the host server of a guild, still be required to guest to that server to receive credit for guild missions?

The “host server”?

The server that created the guild or that specific chapter. No details were given as to whether players from other server would receive credit and get their commendations. I just now saw a thread created that brings this up as well.

I don’t think it matters, the point is server will not effect any part of guilds any more.

Path 3
Alter the Lover’s Crypt event. This event is a drag, even with being able to obliterate the burrows in seconds. There is no urgency to this event and the burrow spawn locations are learn-able.

  • Have the burrows have randomized spawn locations, and/or as the event goes on, more burrows start to spawn at the same time.
  • Provide a bigger threat against the collectors. This could be through having a few gravelings with harder to tackle mechanics, and a tad more HP (NOT TOO MUCH THOUGH!).
  • Ensure that any ramp up in difficulty does not cause the gravelings to be unmanageable.
  • I think the HP of the burrows could stay the same if some of the above things were added, but this is also an area to look at.
  • Use Tzark a little more. Maybe he can have the ability only defend one collector at one time (maybe with a protection bubble). This means you have to keep watching for which collector he is at, so which needs defending and which doesn’t.

Path 1

  • Add an indicator to the danger of spawning oozes if you take the right hand path just before the collect the scepter pieces room. I doubt most people realise it was their fault without being told. A subtle sign that there is danger ahead would be a nicer indicator than just doing it, and then possibly not learning from your mistake if no one comments on it.

General

  • The troll has been mentioned above, and I too think this is currently a wasted opportunity. Encountering the troll could be a great addition to the dungeon if it was reworked. I am unsure how to give players an incentive to fight the troll, but players cannot be forced to fight this boss unless it is reworked. It is currently an irritating fight, from hitting hard to applying fear (and the possibility knocking you off with it).

Questions about wall of reflection

in Guardian

Posted by: sazberryftw.3809

sazberryftw.3809

1) I am unsure if WoR reflects his dagger storm.
2) Not anymore. However, WoR is still a useful skill to keep on your bar here, considering the Spider Hatchlings. Depending how you usually fight this boss, reflecting their poison projectiles could save you a lot of problems.
3) Yes, WoR is vital to surviving stacked against those 3 golems.
4) I am not sure which golems we are talking about here… if you mean the room in P2+P3 where you defend Spire’s laser from golems, then yes, the two large golems do have a projectile attack (I believe it’s the ice one). However, here I prefer to GS 5 them together, keep stability and focus 5 for blocks (if one targets me with that fatal laser beam thing), and then just damage them down quickly.

Another key boss where WoR (and also the shield summon) is very important is the Nightmare Tree in TA. The up path in particular. The turrets (or whatever their exact name is) will deal a tonne of damage if not dealt with. The easiest way to deal with it is using WoR, then shield, then WoR. Make sure to have the trait Master of Consecrations.

That’s what PvE commanding is though, doesn’t mean you can discredit it. PvE and WvW commanding shouldn’t be evaluated equally.

I don’t need to discredit the ability to repeatedly exploit a broken mechanic (plinx etc)…it does that on its own.

I’d say Phinx is a minority, and does not take any other commanding than the tag showing it is active. I was referring more to leading people around a map (Dry Top in particular right now), organising world bosses such as Taco or the Wurm (and maybe more in the future, if they plan to revamp others or add new ones), and organising guild missions.

Ways Devs Lose Players & Other Needed Changes

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: sazberryftw.3809

sazberryftw.3809

I don’t want to see the forumers come and trash this post when many of the OPs points are valid and I can support the fact that some of these have lead to players leaving. Not myself, because despite any flaws I still can’t get enough of this game, but my friend who started playing maybe a month and a half ago now doesn’t play, and very quickly only wanted to play the game to play with me, and didn’t really care much for the game itself.

  • Adding WvW to map completion was always a weird decision. I’ve learnt to live with it but for new players I can remember it being “why do I need to do this?”, “this isn’t part of the world”.
  • The TP search system has needed updating for a very long time. Not just back items, dyes, armour by weight type etc. These are QoL changes we should already have.
  • UI issues. I have always found the crafting UI messy. I’m not quite sure what it is about it but its annoying format does make me groan. In addition to this, one-click items should be a thing in the Mystic Forge and the craft discovery tab. And where is our “use all”?
  • In regards to your points on LFG and dungeons, I can’t say I see a problem here. Going to a zone for a dungeon for me is no issue, and seeing where they are before I learnt them isn’t hard either. The LFG tool needs some updates but random queues are not one. Why? Because you would need specific queues – level 80 only, any level, new players, experienced players. Then what if I want to queue in experienced but I don’t want to end up with non level 80s? I would hate a queue. Then if you just introduced a queue with no specifics alongside the current system, I can’t imagine many people will use it.
  • Even though some new income sources would be nice, 10g at level 80 isn’t bad considering how little you’ll have played by then. And you don’t realise how much G you have in the form of materials.

1. Mounts

  • This one for me is a no, but you are entitled to want it. I just feel we don’t need them.

2. Open world housing market

  • Definitely something they could look into in the future, but also definitely not currently a priority. Think the core game needs some improvement before they put their time and effort into this.

3. Open world encounters and destruction

  • This is something they appeared to promise us before the game was launched. Their living world didn’t seem to pan out like I expected. I would like to see a drive towards your idea here. Just keep it minimal, don’t over do it. Have a few new ‘big’ destructive encounters.

4. Hungar Royale

  • Idk what that means. -shot-

5. Introduce all 6 God realms as 10-man dungeons/zones.

  • I’ll just talk about this in the idea of elite content and bigger party content. I would so love to see this. I understand this would take a lot of work and it would have to be done right. But they don’t have a dungeon team right now, so I worry for this.

6. LS to said locations

  • It will all happen. The whole world will be explored eventually. Just a matter of how quickly we will get there.

7. Make Living Story leading to a new Continent. (Expansion)

  • Same as above regarding to getting to new continent. Whether it will come as a paid expansion, I don’t know. I don’t see why they would do this when they could just introduce it like they are doing with the LS. Not that I wouldn’t like it in expansion form, but I don’t see this being the top choice in Anet’s head.

8. GvG etc

  • Something else that could be a great addition to the game but doesn’t feel like priority. Also, idk where people get the statistics from that GvG was a popular GW1 activity. I never participated in it with my guilds in 6 years.

  • You can only get exotics after level 62.
  • Provided you are level 80, and therefore pass for precursor drops, they can drop from anything.

I’m 99% sure the user above me was mistaken. You cannot get exotics before level 62, and they cannot be level 80. I am unsure on the workings of opening bags acquired by level 80s on a lower level. I would have thought the contents of the bags and boxes were decided on opening them, not on acquire.

Living world story location?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: sazberryftw.3809

sazberryftw.3809

1. Living Story has changed a bit. It’s no longer temporary open world content. The main story is instanced, and you can start that in your story journal. It will take you into Dry Top. This is the new zone for the LS. The events here are permanent, and more of a background for the story content itself, and in no way mandatory. It’s simply a very nice, new zone. They also add a new section almost every patch.

2. I never remember people asking for Ascended only. Ascended is only necessary for higher level fractals. Running full exotic in dungeons is still completely accepable. Any PUG dungeon group asking for ascended are dumb. But of course, ascended is a nice goal and you might as well get it when you can.

3. I know nothing about WvW, sorry!

LFG: How to make people respect the lfg-text

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: sazberryftw.3809

sazberryftw.3809

Hmmm it’s a slightly grey area to be able to report someone for this. It would get abused. You require ‘experienced’ players for your run, but how you define that might be different from someone else. You might want flawless speed clear experienced, or you might just want people who know the route of the path and the boss mechanics. If someone dies once or twice, some people might report that for joining an experienced group when you’re not ‘experienced’ even though everyone dies sometimes.

It does annoy me though when people ignore the requirements for a group. I have a hard time kicking people, so feel really bad when I have to do it. But I’m not sure you can have a report (and therefore ban) system for ignorance though. If they start getting nasty though, then you can report them for verbal abuse I guess.

Why this was a bad Patch: *No Spoilers*

in Living World

Posted by: sazberryftw.3809

sazberryftw.3809

They don’t have to disappear. From what I understood, is that those events don’t activate until the story NPC has been talked to. I talked to the NPC, and the event appeared, but it was already almost 50% completed. Of course the boss was there, and people were fighting it, but it didn’t activate as an event for me until I talked to the NPC. Also there was an event where you had to kill a ghost, gash or something. As soon as it was defeated it spawned again. I think that someone else came along and reactivated the event, causing it to spawn once more.

That’s a little… weird though.
I thought people in the open world were supposed to grow and develop. When Mordremoth is dead and gone, why would his tendrils and Mordrem be such a problem for these charr the same way they are now? Assuming the events stay identical forever – which surely they have to as they are part of the story journal. Surely keeping something like this for forever is the same as sticking the Marionette back in the open world?

The instances, however, are like an interactive story book. What you do there doesn’t have to be present day in the open world (e.g. dungeon dialogue, personal story). I assumed they were going to keep everything that is journal and story based instanced, keeping any open world content not vital to the story (and just supporting content), and therefore this supporting content being able to be removed and changed without effecting the story we (and future players) play.

When it comes to builds all I really suggest is zerker, D/D or S/P. You wanna deal as much damage as quickly as possible, and if I remember sparks hardly hit hard. Run 6/6/0/0/2.

But tbh I deter you from spark farming. The drop rate is incredibly low. You’re probably gonna see more charged lodes/cores from CoE + Cursed Shore champ farming. You are free to do it, but I consider it an unnecessary boring chore as the time to rewards is so bad. And don’t forget about diminishing returns, but don’t know how long it would take for that to come into effect.
