Orr champ farming is a nice way on the side (assuming you want to do it anyway, for rares, for loots, for fun). You get them straight up as drops, and then you get the Heavy bags which have a chance to give you one.
But as said above Mystic Clovers always come first.
They are a by-product of dungeon running. They are a by-product of champ farming. The straight up methods are laurels and forging T5.
But sadly, it is still gonna take time, and then maybe money when you get so bored of waiting for them.

Hmm. Well first TBH it was TL;DR. But I think I get the gist of your point.
I guess, for one, I can say I must be VERY happy with character design on this game considering almost the sole reason I play everyday is to acquire all the pretty gear for my characters, and I spend a A LOT of time in character customisation modifying their faces, making sure I love their hair. I buy makeover kits and hair kits too. I get excited when they add new hairs and faces. NONE of my characters have big anime eyes and cutesy faces. (The closest would be on of my sylvaris, but her eyes only look big because I made them white and open. I wanted her to look eager). I believe abundance of similar looking characters is more down to player choice. More players seem to go for those looks, or just keep the defaults.
As for the Living Story NPCs. I like them. I like Rox’s eyes. They’re not too silly, they make her different to most charr. They suit her personality IMO, she should look more girly than most female charr, as I think she shows a girly side we haven’t seen in most charr. Taimi’s design is perfect. Braham’s face is so ugly, but actually suits him and does make him unique. His armours suit him (and norn) too. Marjory looked better in the artsy cutscenes, and the only reason I don’t like her face is because it’s not the face I would personally choose. But it too, makes her different. Kasmeer’s look fits her, she is an upper class pretty girl; point made. I see the real world equivalent of Kasmeer as well off girl who studied ballet dance during her teen years, naturally gorgeous, girly. And IMO, if those real life girls were to choose what they’d wear in the GW2 world, they’d choose something very similar to Kasmeer’s outfit.
I think there’s enough choice out there for players to dress in many different ways, how they want. And I also feel this is a part of the game that is ALWAYS getting updated, unlike a lot of the more rejected parts of the game (aka dungeon bugs). We are constantly getting new faces, new hair, new armour, new hats, new back pieces… you’re really spoiled for choice. It is completely viable to have a character without cutesy anime eyes and the same hair style as everyone else.
Although I feel this thread is more about actual character design (not armour) I think the one area that needs a BIG looking over is charr armour, because it never fits the same way on a charr than another race, which is really bad. But anyway.
My characters are essentially my grown up equivalent of barbie dolls. I make them look as I want, I dress them as I want. They are my babies. And it’s the drive behind why I play this game. I love them all and my choice of designs.
TL;DR There’s a huge choice of looks in this game that allow you vary from cutesy to pretty to mature and tough. I like all the Living Story character designs and think they’re all justified.

Certainly from my recollection of GW1 the fun times happened after establishing a small selection of core builds either through player suggestions, forums or PvXwiki. I personally took no pleasure in fighting through a massive skill list filtering out all the PvP focused, downright useless, repetitive or situational specific skills just to establish some sensible and decent PvE builds.
Unsurprisingly, I find GW2’s skill and trait system much more manageable while still providing me the same playstyle diversity feel I got from GW1.
Each to their own!
This ^
So, although I agree on improved boss mechanics, and that I’d like things that involve thinking and working together, I do not believe your idea is valid.
GW2 has the ideology of “play how you want” with the intention of every class is viable. Whether or not this is the case in reality, this is their principle. Forcing an event to require healers, tanks and con damagers is going against this, and in my opinion the wrong way about it.
I do not think your build and class should matter in a world boss, what should matter is an understanding of the bosses mechanics, and skill and coordination to over come them. However, the current state of Tequatl is worrying. Do I see it and think “ooh I’ll go!”? No, I think “It’ll just be a bunch of commanders yelling in chat, people not reading and then it’ll fail”. I personally went there my first time and did not understand the process of killing him. I followed commanders orders but I was still confused.
And as for the Wurm, whenever I go to do that no one is there.
I’d like to see updated world bosses but they need to be looked at carefully. At some point, it becomes too hard to say it’s worth the rares, and the loot also needs a looking over.
So in episode 1 of Season 2, in order to complete the episode based achievements you had to do the following:
Character A completes the living story episode. Character A can now complete achievements.
Character B wants to complete achievements instead. Character B must first complete the story episode once over before achievements become available to Character B.
This appeared to be the same for episode 2, as when I log onto Character B after completing the story on Character A, it says “Complete this episode to unlock achievements”.
But when I did go through the quests on Character B, it appeared I was allowed to get the achievements first time (I achieved Fire for Effect), despite it saying they were locked.
On Character B, I helped a friend on Concordia and Fort Salma, but I had not yet started the story so it didn’t count for Character B at this point. I had also never done Discovering Scarlet’s Breakthrough on Character B, so I achieved Fire for Effect the first time I entered it.
Have they changed this?
There’s an event in the new Dry Top where you defend a female centaur. I don’t remember her name, I only did it once. But I’m 99% it said ‘her’.
I was just curious about what happens with a legendary. Obviously now the weapon itself is account bound, meaning I can trade it around my characters. But do I unlock it as skin? Meaning I can apply, e.g, the Meteorlogicus skin to any scepter I pick up in the game there after?
For some reason I just thought legendaries were different.
Ah :/
That’s a shame.
Can I suggest in the list of builds you put the 4/6/0/4/0 directly listed?
I know this in the [DnT] guide but the EA build is up there in importance with the 6/5/0/0/3.
Edit: Talking about warrior incase this isn’t clear.
I seem to remember reading a while ago how Anet’s dungeon team was non-existent.
I was curious to whether anyone knows if they have a team that work on dungeons now? Is this why bugs that have been around since launch have never been fixed?

I have no issue with skimpy armour in games. I am a girl, and I like to have a variety of my characters showing less and more skin. But I agree with the OP that having the alternative would be nice. However, I think GW2 do the whole ‘covered up’ thing quite well. There are a nice balance of revealing and non-revealing armours in GW2.
The OP was not saying skimpy armour = bad. They were saying that being able to choose which you want would be nice. It would involve some work, but I don’t think it’s impossible.

+1 to this idea.
Except maybe not on maps we already have. I don’t know if this is a change they’d be willing to make to all maps. Perhaps just 1 out of every region (e.g one in Ascalon, one in the Shiverpeaks etc). Either that or just in new zones we get.
Heheh, the Ascended Nomad recipe I had was displayed as 200g till you clicked the listing, then it would say the lowest seller was around 20g, highest buyer 15g. ^^
Because this is way more fun than hearts ever were.
That’s the thing though, the achievement seem available for the account. With other achievements that had prerequests, it didn’t matter if you got them on an alt or not.
Yeah they should make it clearer I agree. But now it is part of the story journal it seems reasonable to have it character based, like your personal story was.
You will know if the achievements are available as all stars turn purple.
If you couldn’t talk to the Sergeant then I guess it was bugged. But are you sure you didn’t try this? It’s weird you didn’t mention it.
We will likely get something every two weeks, whether or not we get the next installment of the story in two weeks I’m unsure.
Hmm but what big ending do you want? It’s not ended, it’s a section of a story. Scarlet’s old house was an interesting end. Especially if you stuck around with Taimi. I loved the ending, it left me wanting more.
Not ever event in life ends with a bang, and how it was in the personal story was just that. It didn’t feel realistic at all. This the first realistic story arc I’ve felt I’ve experienced in GW2.
I think it’s unfair to say it’s terrible. It’s just a different art style.
I like the Kotaki style slightly more, but I do think the abstract style is also beautiful.
Some of my favourite pieces of art work in the game though are the images that come up when you mouse over the different dungeons in LFG.
Or he’ll stay in Maguuma and we’ll shoot him down with a laser.
/sadface
(p.s. I hope not I hope it’s as epic as you describe)
It’s quite clearly the dunes, rocks and the wreckage of the Zephyr ship.
I like all the art styles GW2 takes, including their more abstract paintings.
I think they should add a way to skip all conversations and cut scenes for this to work. I managed to rush through it on my alt by spam clicking all conversations. It didn’t take me long, but the next chapter might be longer, and maybe more tedious (tedious to repeat, that is. It is very fun and well written).
Lol I couldn’t disagree more. They play far more like a real person than any of the other NPCs in GW2. They actually do useful things and can take a hit without dying.
I already said I got it.
I just needed to walk further in.
With Tome of Courage and my heals I got it easy. No need to switch out of zerk gear or anything.
I got it by moving further into the sand.
Why do you use Renewed Focus instead of Tome of Courage?
That achievement is so easy to get using Tome of Courage…
This is my first time trying, I had no idea what was the best option. I have Renewed Focus on my hotbar already so I just tried it to see if it gave me invulnerability.
Yeah I realised Renewed Focus did nothing, I was just wondering if by using it the whole “invulnerable” thing might have discounted it (even though the invulnerability doesn’t work).
I was close to the fence my first go, went further out on my second and third go. I will try again with your suggestions.
I was attempting this achievement with the help of others using blast finisher heals. I was in the quicksand without downing for much longer than 15 seconds. The others around me got the achievement.
I definitely do not have the achievement yet.
Has anyone had trouble with this? I’m a guardian, does using Renewed Focus discount you for the achievement?
I do think it’s naive of us to just trust the Master of Peace.
I guess maybe Aerin was so loopy because trying to stop someone who just won’t listen, and having to do all of this alone would send anyone crazy.
…because apparently sand causes amnesia or something.
Hehhhh this made me giggle. Thank you.
I’m confused to why we didn’t get a WP in Tangle Root. I understand that once you’re in Dry Top you have a WP there, and can use that WP to go back through the portal to Tangle Root, but I feel like it just doesn’t make sense not to put a WP there.
It’s just a little inconvenient that’s all, and not sure why they choose to do this.
I really like Aerin though. I liked that he died, but at the same time I don’t. I’m glad it wasn’t another dragged out Scarlet chase, but I really enjoyed his personality. Maybe just a little more of him would’ve been nice.
I really enjoy the duel with Nochtli. The fact we actually use jump as a mechanic is great, and it’s very well explained, I understood how to do it straight away. It takes enough skill to be challenging but it’s still fun and interesting.
No, no, i was referring to the victims that survived the crash,
but were killed on Dry Top when Destiny Edge 2.0 went around investigating.
Or did i misread that part?
I may have misunderstood too, but I believe they meant they were killed on the ship, and were dead before they crashed.
There is some you can get from the locked chests I believe.
As far as i know there are only the googles and a scartf atm. Maybe the katana at some point. But as seson 1 to now the release rate is 1:10. One dropable/craftable skin vs 10 gem skins. They should make it at least 1:2
Yeah that’s what I was referring to.
There is some you can get from the locked chests I believe.
Extremely ugly loading screen art? Are you serious? Not only do I disagree with you but I think you’re being awfully rude there.
I also disagree with people calling the main story line a jumping puzzle. It’s really not. All the compulsory stuff for the story is select skill… click, select skill, click. There’s NO skill involved what so ever. The optional content is however more difficult. Such as the jumping puzzle to the goggles.
I had no problems with falling in the story, but I guess that’s just me.
I completely agree.
For once, doing story instanced was fun, interesting and challenging. Okay, there’s still a tiny bit of pointless waiting around, but the story telling was WAY better, and the character dialogue has vastly improved. I am enjoying the new journal system, and like how I feel rewarded, and motivated to go back and repeat it for the achievements.
And I disagree with people complaining about jumping. The compulsory content does not include any difficult jumping. Yes, the goggles are hard to get, but that’s not compulsory. The only people I do feel for are those with lower spec PCs that suffer from FPS lag.

I’m not sure if they’re randomly placed every sandstorm, or always in the same place. Anyone found this out?
P.S. About those things we picked at creation, ye they were only involved in several quests at start, and that’s why i kinda like the first 30 levels :/ … i wished they did more with it, but oh well
edit: P.P.S. Also the desert is pweaty
Yeah, I wish they’d done a lot more with it!
It is very pretty!
JPs as part of the main map instead of an playable option wtf. I hate JPs with a passion. My reaction went from 5y old at xmas – to please oh just kill me now, if I wanted to play a platform game – I would have invested in 3d Sonic which I also hate. now if it was more like Lara then maybe, but really – I have played since GW2 beta and have 7 years of GW1 under my belt – this new format has just killed my reason for living… sorry, but it sucks for me – unless there is a bypass built – I’m done and this makes me really sad because tho I’m not mega hardcore, I have put a couple of 1000 hrs into this game :-( .
The main line isn’t really a jumping puzzle. You’re using the Zephryite skills. Are you following the story? If so it leads you on a very easy path that doesn’t involve a lot of jumping, just using the Zephryite skills very simply.
Still not as good as the first 30 levels of personal story (where it really felt personal), but worlds ahead of the personal story finale!
I think I’ll wait a bit till the bugs are fixed (they kinda ruin the moment), but if the rest of the missions are this challenging/interesting than this is on the right track
You really enjoyed the first 30 levels? I found that crap BORING as hell. It was NOT personal at all. The things we picked during creation were involved in one quest.
Also, out of interest, which bugs? O: Not sure if I’ve seen any?
I love Dry Tops too. I’m impressed by the new mechanics in events. Such as the duel using ‘jump’, and getting stuck in the mine. It is a GORGEOUS map.
And last of all… LLAMAS.
The instanced content is fun and challenging. The story and characters feel better told. I love Aerin!
Finally I enjoyed instanced story content!
My first impressions are WOW. The instanced content is fun and challenging. The story and characters feel better told. I love Aerin! And I also love how Kasmeer uses portals like a real mesmer!
I love Dry Tops too. I was impressed by the event in the mine. We got stuck in there and had to use explosives to get out – was one of the most immersive events I’ve ever played in GW2!
And last of all… LLAMAS.

Why are they yet to fix this bug? I tried searching for related threads but as we all know the forum search is broken.
This has been around since release. It’s unfair that I know exactly how to do this fight but if I get bugged out due to a crystal, I will down because of ice, then wipe if my party are in trouble and can’t res me quick enough without it compromising them.
I don’t understand how this can be a hard fix, and have they ever commented on this bug? Or mentioned any plans to resolve it?
It’s been broken since they made it.
