once you are in the lordsroom, make sure u keep contesting the gate as the wp will stay open after u entered lordsroom…you are not hitting a gate anymore….

If this is a balance issue there’s a difference lol.
1) Confusion is hard to stack. It’s REALLY hard to stack up. The maximum amount of stacks I’ve seen on me at any given time was 8 (did around 2-3k per skill use), and it went down to a more reasonable 2 or 3 within a couple seconds. The point is, confusion duration is extremely short, while retaliation duration is often easy to make long.
2) Ripping boons is far more difficult than cleansing conditions
3) Confusion has a very short uptime
4) Confusion does 1/2 the damage of retaliation. Both can be increased by power and condition damage respectively, but Confusion will always do far less damage than retaliation.
5) Confusion only procs damage on skill use. Retaliation procs damage on EACH HIT. Confusion would only do one proc to a warrior using whirling axes, whereas retaliation would do 15 procs. For reference, let’s say they’re used against a mesmer with 1000 condition damage as opposed to a guardian with 1000 extra power. The warrior would be hit for 5-6k in retaliation against the guardian whereas the he would take maybe 200-300 damage in confusion. Even off of 8 stacks (which again, is extremely difficult to keep up or even attain in the first place), the warrior would only take like 2-3k. That’s if the mesmer is speccing into confusion.
Even worse, if it’s zerg vs zerg, the warrior would instagib himself if the guardian provided aoe retaliation to himself, whereas a mesmer that stacks confusion on 5 people wouldn’t…you know, anyways…
Granted, confusion does proc off of utilities and skills that cause condition damage not direct damage which retal won’t proc off of, but still.
6) They can’t burst shatter you like that if they’re try to stack confuses on you, btw. You can’t have confusion stacking and super damaging mind wrack at once. Confusion stacks most easily with a glamour build, which is a support build, not a burst build.

So, erm u have never ran into a real glamour mesmer then.
ok here is how it works:
- Yes, with a group of 10 glamour mesmer, 25 stack no problem.I alone inflict 7 to 8 stack myself
-Every time u enter or exit a glamfield u get inflicted with confusion, 10 feedback+10 Nullfields+20 portal+ 1 temporalcurtain pull=25 stacks
-confusion duration can last actually quite long with the right food.
-Every skill u use is gonna start the tick of 1.2k up to actually 3k if not more
-lets say u use a projectile u get extra dmg from feedback
-200- 300 dmg is not glamour mes ticks, thats quite low for confusion, most confusion builds get around 650-750
-Nullfield is not only ripping boons, it also cures conditions on allies
-retaliation is powerful, difference:I don’t need to get hit to deal dmg,you could be attacking my clone while i stand there watching u losing half of your life
-plus the shattercat mesmers wll keep u busy enough to use your skills.Btw nr 2 and nr3 scepter skills can cause big confusion dmg aswell.
-btw, kinda embarrassing,but 25 of us ran into 10 glam mesmers and got destroyed more than 8 times in a row.I had most of the time around 15 stacks of condusion on me….and we are all different classes: thieves,mesmers,Rangers,Necro,guardians,warriors,…all of us …boooooom….. o_0
-And actually its more than 5 people…..
-now combine that with 5 immortals and 4 shatter cats..and i permastealth thief XD

Don’t worry mesmer defenders, I’m not all bad.
Personally, I don’t think phantasmal rogue is too strong. It’s a really really strong number three. I agree. But all numbers 3 are strong. Even Elem DD which have one of the worse number 3 (tho they have the best number 2) in grasping earth, does a good amount of damage. With the 3 sec bleed, does as much damage as rogue. I can hit for 3-4k with my number three on my engineer, and knock back people.
Now the issue isn’t number 3 of mesmer, it’s the whole package. They have a premium number 1, a premium number 2, and a premium number 3. All their downed are good. And they also have clone to support them.
If you compare it to engineer or warrior, you see the unbalance.
- nr1 is only helpful if u have a confusion build(nowhere near as strong as a thiefs nr1)
-nr2 portals u either nowhere or right in the middle of a zerg where u get insta killed, it is pure luck to actually get ported AWAY from an enemy
-i barely EVER get to nr 3
yes, the warriors downstate is pretty frustrating if they don’t get to nr3, but their nr 3 is pretty epic though
engineer i can’t say much as i havent played the class yet

So some people get hit by 6k to 8k…erm by a mesmer who has a high dmg,crit build and now u want to nerf ALL of it, because that build is sooo strong… so there is backstab 10k 13k killshots…….let’s face it, every class has something that with the right build causes great dmg or frustration. Maybe we should remove all mesmer traits and have the fight with cotton balls from now on, so noone can get any dmg above 1k through a mesmer anymore.

In my opinion Sigerazer should be removed from enemys spawn points in borderland maps, why do you need a breakout if you have 10 people to attack with anyway. As of today on my server we had 10-20 invaders all the time using it and we have less players than the other two. I thought it should help a server who was stuck at Citadel and spawn camped not give free siege to the servers who already have more than enough peple to attack anyway.
So please remove them from south spawn points in the borderlands, there is no need for them there, it’s just another kick in the balls for low pop servers.

we usually leave him alive, so the zergs can’t activate him again.we kite him around to get dolyaks in, but it’s better to leave him alive.
so, let me get this right..u are mad that there are people outmanning u at night?well, gotta say 25 is nothing.we sometime fielded 10 to 15 people during sea and would get steamrolled by 40+ and yes we do sometimes have the outmanned buff during this time.it is frustrating sometimes but we siege up everything and are usually able to defend it for quite some time.
omg omg omg! I managed to heal! i was lagging so badly that i might have to buy a new keyboard soon as nr.6 might be broken. But hey after 16 attempts I managed to heal. Woot progress!……..and then I died right after….
Most annoy thing happened toady in multiple keeps wher this 1 permastealth thief trolled us for 30 minutes at the inner keep.would go hit 1 gate then run around and hit another…u could see him for 1 second and the u cant target him, u dont see hit points, no nothing.
I think if you are hitting him u should see numbers and also u should be able to knock him out of stealth easier.
Cooldowns have to be looked at and also dmg
for me it works like this
(glamour build staff+scepter/focus)
1. they go invisible to backstab u
-staff nr 4
-cast nullfield on the ground
2 they attack (3 stacks of confusion+ all the stacks they get by entering and exiting glamfields)
- now as they become visible for a second u have 2 options:use feedback for extra glam confusion, or pull’em with temporal curtain and cast focus 5)(I prefer to hold on to my temporal curtain though)
3. they shadowrefuge
-whenever u see the little hut, if u have temporal curtain, u can pullem out of stealth (in order to stay in stealth, they have to stay in that circle for a few seconds, put a temporal curtain down and knockem out of it before hut dissapears) u will meet a very confused thief right there.
4. Now it’s time to attack him directly as u can target him, let him taste your strongest attack (I either use my clones and shatter them in his face or cast veil which is a glam field for extra confusion stacks plus again focus nr 5)
5 . now he will stealth again and attack right away, ill cast my chaos storm right below my feet and use staff n2 to gain distance as i know that he is always close by my back(if u have portal equipped, cast a portal and take some steps forward and when attacked cast portal and port right behind him)
6 cast nullfield below your feet again when he stealths so the conditions he uses to stunn u and all his boons are gone when he enters the field
In my case my confusion stacks are up to like 17 if it is a bad thief XD and every move he makes costs him around 1.5 to 2k dmg
tips for other or the same build:
i usually cast hounds of baltazar when i see a thief right away, as they tell me exactly where he is at, same with clones
- cast veil, chaosstorm when u know he is close by right below your feet
-feedback will reflect his ranged attacks quite well
-save your dodges till u are on cooldowns
-thief will always try to come very close to u and can stun u, so nullfield is quite helpful
-if he is in stealth and u have stealth skills equipped, use them and move randomly
- if u have blink equipped:If he is a little further away from u and goes invis, stand still and play bait for 2 max 3 sec and then blink away as far as u can
agreed.I can’t even heal anymore and a lot of people dc too.
why make forests with flamerams? This is T2 we need something a litlle higher (from spawn to bay …lol

The solution is the consolidate the servers and remove Tier 8 completely.
not a good solutions in my opinion as some people like their server..i’d be extreemly mad if anet would take our tier out and merge them…imagine TC/FA and DB merge XD
actually it would be cool to have a map where people from all servers could join in while stuck in queue or just for fun(and i’m sure this would make queues too) Guilds and friends could choose which color they wanna join.
the stale matchups are burning people out atm.
or add an arena or something…just something that spices things up…i’d love to meet some guilds from other tiers.not just t2 and t3 guilds…
also add some random stuff to wvw…random fight events or weather conditions

Golems should not be able to use portals, thats all.
Portal bomb = smash keyboard = 0 skill needed to play :S
not really true. portals have to be well timed and a portalbomb often fails…u do need skill for both of it…we destroyed many portalbombs before.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD2pt08VDooPrior to a Golem rush you kill off the canons and oil. Rarely have I NOT seen this happen. As far as Arrow Carts. We lost a fully upgraded Garrison w/ 2 Superior AC’s and 3 normals. Golems took those out before we took them down.
As for spying, the new ‘thing’ to do is veil them and just walk them up. What happened as well when we lost Garrison. We actually had the siege manned because, as I stated, the group came in before and cleared oil and cannons they could clear.
The only real ‘counter’ to this is to have a major force stationed at Garrison 24/7 to be there immediately to counter, since they can bust through 1 gate and get the next one kitten close to down before you can get there and react.
like i said u might wanna station a person at the watergate.Usually ull see a mesmer running up and putting port sown. the guards will react way before that.I used to do the watergate shifts and would start shooting with my s.arrowcart the moment i see someone getting up there.
plus there is a mortar(if upgraded) at SE garrison gate that can aim right at the water gate 5% shot. mortars will take a golem down extremely fast. if the gate is reinforced the superior will take care of those 8 golems.
Even if they get through watergate they will die at inner gate if u have more s. arrowcarts, catas, ballistas in lordsroom(and they should always be there)
and if u wanna try to put a treb into the lordsroom, which we usually do around SEA primetime and we don’t have many people on. Trebs will destroy rams and golems in 2 , 3 hits…

Not sure why any server would want to move into T1. It’s a kittenfest of tears and burnout up there.
agreed.I like that we moved up, but the best fights I had so far was in T3.T2 is not so much for me as it is less about tactics and more about zerg size(gotta say though great coordination from WM that took our garrison while Meow kept us busy in the north).
The lag is also ruining it for many of us.A major fight can be fun, but if it lags soo bad, that u can’t use any of your skills it’s frustrating.Lots of my guildmembers got burned out because of it.I don’t know if KN is facing same crazy lag…i aslo don’t wanna defeat a player while he is lagging.
Btw early this morning …was fun meeting some SOS in KN bl after KN took our entire bl. we were only 4 there(2 of us naked XD) and were watching a 12 man sos group taking briar.ty for not attacking us…

my 5 cents, every server we’ve faced so far has it’s pros and cons.yes. tc facerolled us in t3,now that we have numbers we can actually face them again.I have to say, that i had some epic fights and duels with tc.
same with KN we do not have to coverage to win against u guys yet as we lack SEA guilds, but the fights this week are epic.

Same in FA/KN/SOS matchup.we lag soo badly I can even tell when the enemy approaches a keep 10 secs before they hit..Can barely walk up the stairs due to the lag and the heal is not working at all.We used to clas into nnk zergs that are massive and didn’t have any lag at all.I think Anet is testing something out or mad queues shorter and now more people are on the maps than the servers can handle.
Something very strange happened this morning and I’m not quite sure what to make of it. Our server is Red this week. So there I was soloing a Blue camp, killed all the mobs, the circle turned Red and the progress bar started to fill. At what seemed to be the very last tick of the bar a Green thief entered the circle and its colour switched to light blue (contested). So far so good, but in less than 5 seconds (we had only exchanged a couple of attacks) the camp simply flipped to Green and all the mobs spawned. Both of us were definitely still inside of the circle.
Has anyone experienced this?
yeah i think it’s abug.we rezed the lord and some of us were in the circle and tower still got capped
I don’t have a problem with the amount of maps. If you can’t control all 4 then that’s just part of the game.
My problem, is the redundancy of the three borderlands. Take two out and replace them with different maps! Perhaps design one that’s easy to defend and give it to red team, and give one that’s harder to defend and give it to the green team. Blue team keeps the old map layout.

For any interested. I think the 250k one is placed right for not to long and not to short if wvw is your thing. Most in RG now have 50-100k. Was sent a pm on this forum about topic also i am sure there was 2 or so before like it on reddit.

I’m in all honestly sick of being one of the 5 people in EB at night, I’m a late night gamer. Usually on weekdays from 12-5am. (EST)
So what servers have a decent night time wvw player base? But don’t actually steamroll over everyone else at those hours, cause lets face it, that’s boring.
Yup FA has a big one.I play the same time slots like u but im PST. So I play 12am till 6 am.
How this matchup has been for me- Try to flip a camp with 3 people, TC portal bombs with at least 15. Whatever, wipe, try again at the next camp – TC rolls by with at least 10 people.
There’s just TC EVERYWHERE, it feels like it’s not even worth trying to play this week. I hope TC leaves this tier and never ever comes back to it – Sowwie TC, but you don’t belong here.Folks need to accept that T3 is going to be this way and adapt and enjoy it, or transfer off. We either get TC with lots of numbers, or FA with lots of numbers and that may not change for awhile. Learn to play around the numbers and you will enjoy your experience more.

Hate to disappoint ya son, but I was born and raised in the Quarry before you were even a pixel in the mind’s eye. Here’s a tidbit o’ data for you… populations are still the same due to the cap on players allowed.

Every tier has the potential for battles large enough to cause heavy lag, queue or no queue … they simply are more likely in the upper tiers. That doesn’t make lag in the lower tiers any less annoying … only less often.
Indeed. But if you increase the server bandwidth only to fix the lag a few players experience 1-2 times a week you are wasting resources which could be put to better use elsewhere.
It’s Company 101, don’t waste resources on things that will hardly be noticeable to the consumers in favor of things that will actually make an impact on a larger scale.
I guess Habib and Mike’s posts that they are aware of the extremely bad culling and are releasing what they hope is a fix in March are just illusory. I guess all the previous threads on how bad culling is are illusory. I guess the thread that had a poll with well over a thousand responses in which at last count 67% of which said culling was worse was illusory. I guess all the people in our server TS who complained of the culling and ability lag being worse than ever were illusory.
The only experience that matters is Gab Superstar’s experience (what an apropos forum name). Fortunately I know a Troll for a Troll.
Anet, I’ll be back after the March patch. If you haven’t fixed it by then, my money is gone.

Transfer fees were put in for a reason; anet saw this coming a long time ago… you did this to yourselves. All the servers that had a major lag and still have it btw, have clearly stated, that everything was fine before reset..
We didn’t have any lag and also had no new transfers! and yes, we field large numbers. Yesterday our group wasn’t even 20 and we faced a zerg of around 40 to 45 and lag was outrageous. FYI we had fights with 30+ vs 50 before and never had such a massive lag.

as for the lag, i’m on fa and we usually face zergs of like 40 to 50 people (if not more with all the night asian crews we are facing). Normally I’m not laging much and am always able to use my skills. Yesterday was the worst lag I’ve ever experienced. The moment I was approaching a zerg, massive lag..when fighting them, I wasn’t able to use any skills and died within a few seconds…from full health to zero!And EVERYONE in our ts had the same issue! something is wrong here for sure!
To be quiet honest, I don’t understand Anet in this…If you change the orange sword to such a high number, how come 1 person can walk past a gate and contest the waypoint or tower? It should be changed so, that only if a gate takes at least 1k dmg per hit, it goes contested.
Also, I think 25(which is for a lot of servers a zerg), is too high and shoud be adjusted to 15.
No problems here on T2.

There are a really insulting amount of FA laughing on corpses this week.
I only laugh when people I’m fighting either, choose to jump off cliffs rather than die by my sword or turn tail and run before even engaging me.

Where is the ascended gear acquisition methods? It’s just incredibly ironic they only want to give passive benefits via WvW progression that don’t affect combat on a 1 to 1 basis, yet its perfectly fine for PVE based reward players to come in WvW and affect combat with better stats, and no way to get them in WvW.
you can get ascended gear with dailies atm and since the new patch a daily is easy to complete in wvw aswell.I’m sure there will be more thugh.Can’t wait for new armor skins.
The vast majority of that list is quality of life stuff like balancing or client/server performance…things that should already have been fixed, etc.
New map is SPvP only. The existing WvW maps are too small, and there are only two of them.
I’m sorry that I’m not as excited as some about new skins or titles as others are.
The scoring system leaves something to be desired. The system still favors the server that has the most representation across the most time zones, rendering the contributions of those who play on servers without a “night time” presence meaningless. Many matchups are stagnant and boring. Orbs were removed and never replaced. The outmanned buff is still buggy and doesn’t offer any meaningful benefits. There is no mechanism to help outnumbered servers compete. Etc…

-an spvp map needs to work for around 5 players right?WvW maps have to carry a looot more that that.Every keep and wall needs a different programming.Ther is also a ton of exploiting spots and and and. So a map will take time to make for wvw.
Yes, the matchup is quite boring when facing the same servers over and over…we were matched up with tc in tier 3 for i think 9 weeks or so and didn’t have a chance against them.But hey, do u have a good solution for it atm, that would be fair for everyone? A reset would have been a disaster for many low tier servers.

The point im making is, that now we see that ANET IS listening to us, but we gotta be patient and all your wishes will be 1 by 1 fullfilled.
They know that wvw is a big part in GW2 thats why they have to analize everything first before they change everything.The have to collect all bugs and wishes first and then find a solution and then im sure there will be map changes. To be honest I can’t stand the borderland maps, they are plain, boring and I know em in and out.Lets see what they are going to do within the next few months.

You guys are already complaining about stuff u don’t know ANY REAL details about. If u read the interview correctly u will know that they wanna make wvw more rewarding which is great for competitive players. It will give u buffs according to your role in wvw which is great.

Culling was the worst for everyone, now it’s gonna be removed and u can even choose which method is the best for u.

WvW was not rewarding at all, no lootbags, no badges and only white or blues as a drop. got fixed now there are lootbag everywhere!
