the problem is that people can just tag a gate real quick and now the entire zerg will run there while the real enemy lets say 24 zerg is attacking a keep.25 is too much i think 10 15 would be better.

Yep seen a lot of them lately, the all use an attack at the same time, jump and dodge at the same time and run in the same direction all the time. in wvw they seem at first like a very very organized guild…but in rality only 2 people that control them.ikittenill the main 1 the others are easy to finish off.

to be quite honest, im nervous and excited at the same time.this weeks matchup was a little boring during the time slot im playing as we kinda owned everything and our guild likes challenges,so next week will be a lot of hard work for us.

I don’t like spawn camping unless it’s around asian time and a certain guild comes online with 50 members that steamroll everything!

Hey all,

We made some very intentional changes to the way we calculate loot. One of the effects of this change is that there is more loot dropping in WvW. Yay! Increasing the loot in WvW was one of our goals and we’re glad that it’s making some of you happy. Also, just to be sure that we were comfortable with the impact it had on loot in WvW we had our economist do some analysis of the drop rates in WvW after this patch. After looking at his results we’re still comfortable with the changes. On a personal note, I was very happy to get a much better badge drop rate when I played yesterday

Tl;dr: it’s not a bug, enjoy the loot!

the difference is,one is an exploit and hasn’t been fixed yet, the other one is a mesmer hiding,putting down portal and jump over the wall and get people in as intended.

It means you can’t drop a portal on one side of the gate and have people on the other side take it.

it means that u cant portal your friends out if they are stuck in a wall, but it also helps to prevent exploits where a mesmer gets rezzes through lets say watergate at bay and pots a portal through that watergate and people outside can take it,or someone dies and when the keep is taken their body is inside the wall, he gets rezzed through the wall puts portals down and get people in. that is what obstructed means. not line of sight that u need to see the port infront of u in order to use it. u should be still able to put put a port down inside keep and jump outside and portal people in.

I think the portal nerf means, that if u are stuck in awall, people cant portal u out anymore. In WvW there is or was a spot at bay watergater wher the mesmer was able to place the port through watergate and portal people inside after being rezzed through watergate.

ok so as a mesmer hiding and trying to stealth to run to portal people up will be hard as they don’t use agro.. other thing is, no more portaling people out if they are stuck in a wall.It’s ok that we cant kill the npc with RI that easily anymore(seems to make sense to me.)

actually I gotta say, that i was really bored last night when we reached 670 ppt early during oceanics.when TFV and NNK finally logged on, I got some epic fights and was happy. Even though 15 vs 35+ was a little intense, but I actually love outnumbered fights.The harder it is to survive, the more fun it is to play!I love the challenge!(after everyone was dying and only like 4 of us left, we still managed to kill 1 of the 30 remaining and downed 5 of them…aaaand dead…darn i dint get to pick up my lootbags again XD)

I’m sure u do more running to get around in wvw every day than just run to a point in pve world

aww man I don’t like the answers at all….looks like march will not introduce anything exciting. How are they able to create all the pve content, but cant introduce a new map. The borderland maps are very plain looking and seem like they were rushed to complete for game launch. seriously anet if u need extra people that are wvw focused only, i know a ton of programmers i can send over.
or how about u use one of the existing pve maps and alter it for wvw.
If gw 2 loses all their wvw players, believe me pve will fall appart too, so please Anet pleas put as much effort as u can in this

As I mentioned in the last thread the people using this effectively are not the common zergers. It really effects only a small subset of the player base.

All i’m saying is, make a glamour mesmer and see for yourself.It is not as op as it looks if there is only 1 gamour mesmer. If u run into a group of them, yep it will hurt! But so does a n organized thieves group, ele group or necro group(imagine 11 necros using same skill at the same time=ouch).

If confusion only lasted a couple seconds of a fight or went away after a single use, then I’d be ok with that. That would be a very short term decision where you either stopped what you were doing for a few seconds or took significant damage. What I’m not ok with is mesmers using condition duration and rare veggie pizza to keep almost constant uptime confusion with breaks of only a few seconds here and there where you can actually play your character. Confusion is the longest daze in the game.

ok, before u assume things.HAve u actually played a glamour mesmer?I don’t think so, because if u would have, u would know that all our abilities have very long cool downs. Yes, veggie pizza increases duration, but we still have a gap when all our skills are on cooldown. i mean all of them(weaponskills and abilities).
I fight glamour mesmers all the time. So when i get hit by a well built glam mesmer(6,7 stacks of confusion right away) and i did use a skill, I use heal, back up a little and then use my nullfield to cleanse.problem solved. The people that die are the people that zerg and blindly attack by mashing buttons.

Most of OG’s strategy is based on 2+ d/d eles unloading all their burst damage on lone players and then running if they don’t insta-win.

Having any amount of confusion affecting them ruins their ganking method. Rather than do what everyone else does (ie, remove the confusion, not burst a dozen skills at once while confused, or just avoiding the bubbles) they complain instead. This is an OG l2p problem.

Just another PRO zerger trying to ignore a problem because they don’t like OG. If you have such a problem with us that you can’t even see past your issues to think about balance, feel like to go read the thread started by Oozo instead.

I love how u call us zergers,even that pro relies way more on tactics and siege than on numbers.If u walk into our BL and start ganking people, of course u wil run into our entire group eventually.BTW we ran into AVTR before they joined us. day 1,they destroyed us over and over again,day 2 we were more cautius,but still died,day 3 we changed our strategy and attacks when facing AVTR and started to be able to kill them.
Wvw shouldn’t be the place where u can mash the same buttons and combos over and over. A good player tries to adjust and deal with it.
when thieves killed everyone, i used new tactics. I still die to them but i also kill them.I even changed my build to tis glamour build to counter AVTR.What about bleed and burn dmg, i learned how to remove em.
ok, so now u know that u cant use the same tactics over and over, time to change your playstyle!
and wombat, couldn’t have summarized it better than u, but u gotta add 2 D/D eles and 4 thieves.

Telling me I should try 1v1ing lol. Our servers have probably never been matched, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I know how to fight a confusion mesmer, but that doesn’t mean I am ok with a class having what amounts to an almost perma uptime daze. And that’s 1v1 where not doing anything is marginally not fatal. In small group fights, it’s even worse.

Translation: I’m not ok with a build out there that can compete with my D/D ele because then I cant make outrageous claims like “noone can beat me because i’m so good”

By which you are implying I win because my class in unbalanced rather than personal skill. My class which is getting nerfed, yet isn’t as strong as a confusion mesmer. But ele is op and confusion mesmer is balanced. Got it.

Confusion is absolutely ridiculous and most certainly needs to be nerfed. I think the only people who dispute that are the ones who run it themselves or in their group. It does far too much damage and can be reapplied far faster than it can be cleansed.

You people keep pointing to the fact that Bunzy is a d/d ele to invalidate what he’s saying. Do you realize d/d only has one spell that cleanses conditions and it’s a single condition? My build barely cleanses conditions, and I had to switch to a heal I don’t like as much to help with that, and it’s still not enough. Should all eles be forced to run triple cantrip 30 water builds to have any chance in hell of not killing themselves vs a confusion mesmer which is becoming massively fotm? Is that good for the game?

Also, that ele build is getting nerfed. So a build which is considered to be so overpowered that it is getting a decent hit with the nerf bat gets destroyed by another build, and that other build is perfectly balanced?

Any class/build that lacks massive condition clearing or uses fast attacks gets kitten on by confusion. And there’s the whole anti-fun aspect of the skill. Confusion should act as a short term punishment for not paying attention, not something that makes you run around like you have a 90% uptime daze on you.

It’s seriously the most frustrating thing in the game. Send your hordes of perma stealth thieves at me. Send engies and rangers which hard counter my build. Send the eles with better dueling builds. Send anything but those kittening confusion mesmers.

yeah, we have a lot of great guilds and, but after oceanics ends and asian primetime starts, we do have a gap.If we manage to fill that gap, we’d be very very solid tier2

it’s actually quite hard to port golems around and u need a lot of good coordination and communication to portal golems to a gate.

yup and there is a new hack out there that can port entire groups of enemies into randowm location, so if the hacker wants to port u out of a tower your in, he will just port u right in the middle of them to kill u.(ever wondered why u are all of the sudden stuck in a wall?u didnt fall or use an ability and u were just there?Welcome to the newest hack) They also have a radar hack to monitor enemy movements, their class, health and stats…and there is actually multiple websites like that. I don’t know what anet can do about it though at this point. It would be cool if we had a chance to get a counter software from anet that monitors and blocks hacks…but thats just wishful thinking…..

Even with big numbers u need skill and strategy as also a small group can destroy u. If u have a few groups that have skill and stick together as a team u can make quite some difference.

But i agree moving up in tiers is all about numbers and coverage as the bigers servers will also show up with organized guilds and if it has multiple of them it will get quite hard for a underpopulated servers. we do have a weak timeslot and the other server has a huge asian zerg that takes almost everything during that time its 1 zerg of around 45+ and they do not have great tactics but big numbers…u see them in the 13vs 40 video.

erm, i personally have nothing against maguma at all. actually prefer them to DB’s NNK. OG though has a bad reputation and yes we are hunting u guys down. the reason for that is pretty obvious: u guys gank single targets on the street, wait infront of our spawn, try to attack us from behind when we are taking a DB keep, jump on our bodies after 6v1 and then  troll on the forums and even if u have a official duel(like u had with our commander Lady Sayrah) u get mad if he wins and attack him from behind out of the blue….

yup and apparently they don’t only teleport themselves but a;so u out of a tower in the middle of them.happened to me yesterday and no there is no way i was pulled from the bottom of the ramp near the lordsroom, all the way through the gate,not ebven just outside the gate but all the way in the middle of them.

I know i’m not in this tier, but this is the best update post i’ve ever seen!!Epic!!!!!

2 days ago we breached into garison and started destroying all their siege.our commander and a few others jumped across to the cliff next to the watergate to destroy thier arrow cart while i was waiting to portal them in.when they wanted to jump down back infront of the watergate so i could portal them back to the south east gate where we breached, they got ported(all of them)into the gate itself, where the enemy on the cannon started shootong them.

And yesterday i was in longviewtower defending vs 40 nnk.I was standing at the bottom of the ramp in front of lordsroom,gate was closed amd was spamming my attacks at gate, when all of the sudden i was portaled outside of the tower in the middle of them. I wasn’t pulled or anything i was all of the sudden there….
is this a weird glitch or a hack or what is that?(i’ve heard of others having same issue, where they all of the sudden are in a wall where they weren’t even close to)

FA relies on superior numbers way too much. From defense, offense, down to individual builds. It’s no skin off our back, but FA keeps jabbering about t2 this, t2 that. You guys still have a lot of room for improvement.

this is not true, before we had the transfers, we stayed in this tier vs TC and YB and CD and eventhough we lost we worked really hard. We had only enough numbers to cover 1.5 maps. I do’t understand why everyone has to always whine about numbers, u guys have way more numbers than we had when we moved to tier 3!PRO was pretty much the only guild that was staying up at night and we barely slept as whenever we left everything got lost.
We were beong trolled soo much that TC even made a guild called [FA} good luck in tier 4. Cd had superior numbers aswell.

if u guys were in our shoes when we faced CD and TC at the same time, I think u all would have ragequit the game. we wer in tier 3 for weeks and weeks and weeks and didnt have any nightcapping 600 ppt like NNK. a lot of people were tired of being outmaned. before the transfers we were outmanned in eb EVERYtime i logged in there.

I really hope you fotm confusion mesmers get a swift kick in the nuts come patch day. It’s going to really kitten me off if the overpowered ele build gets nerfed but the even more overpowered mesmer build goes untouched.
