It because they hasn’t been any major patch since april 15. I suspect all changes IF there is any will start july 1. They made it pretty clear that they will be a break from all content patches, the currently LS doesn’t count since it just a festival with little no major change in content. Yes, balance patches is considered content it is either festival, content or feature patch. I do think they are givng people a chance to unlock everything but more importantly, I think they are trying to buff the new traits.
AS to your question, I don’t remember Arenanet saying they would be doing more balance patches, just shaving as needed and they hasn’t been a reason to do any major shaving since the feature patch, especially given the changes to runes. And considering the next tournament is not until the end of July, there is no point.

You haven’t been watching BL chests science experiments now, have you?
no i do not..i do not usually check on forums and type on other peoples topics…but i only came here to say something to anet…that is all
Well if you have, then you wouldn’t have fallen into that trap.
Back on topic, yes, Anet needs to understand why we don’t buy BL keys. Too many science experiments have proven that they are a waste of money.
You just don’t get it and I doubt you will. You need to understand that Arenanet expects not everybody is going to buy the keys and they are perfectly content with that concept. They only need a few to buy the keys to subsidize for the majority.
So when you see “WE” the is no “WE”, it is just you and the others. “WE” implies something that doesn’t exist which is that not everybody is you and short of you telling everybody to not buy keys, it doesn’t matter.

Take away the ability buy black lion keys from Black lion Company.
Only have them as rare drops.
Change the content in the chestas so that they ALAWYS contain something useful (Like makeover/harstyle kits, boosts, ticket scraps etc – not like box-o-fun, single-use tonics etc)…
I never buy them. And the VERY few drops that I have got of them have given me mostly junk… I’ve had 3 tickets scraps and i have been a frequent player since release. Also make it impossible to farm them by starting new characters over and over again – it’s being abused. Take them away as personal story reward.
If they stopped selling keys for $, then they would need to find new ways to replace the lost revenue, which will be massive.
Keys are definitely one of the best selling items in the gem store so unless you can come up with a way to generate several million dollars a month by NOT selling them, your idea is DOA.
I just don’t get how people think they are smart by coming up with ideas on how to make black lion keys “fair” without stopping to realize that the keys were not intended to be fair to anyone but arenanet.

So there is no other good use of Karma except some cooking materials, cultural weapon skins if needed, and an exotic set of gear? Doesn’t seems unfair, but what if we’re on “End-Game” like 1.5 years long?
End game in gw2 is whatever you make it out to be from grind legendary to quitting. Karma was reduce specific because pal had too many and anet did not care enough to develop karma sinks.

Welcome to gw2 where apparently everyone surrounding the Dark skinned Krytan Queen is apparently light skin. Which is funny because kryta was a country full of brown skin folks in guild wars 1.
So this isn’t new, this is how it has always been. The options presented are not well thought out for other ethnic groups.

Having a bit more fat is realistic. As you say, they don’t need to be obese, but there are a lot more body types than just skinny and muscular.
Actually, it is more realistic for adventurers to be skinny and build than fat, since they are either traveling and solving problems and they don’t usually have enough money to spurge on food.

I doubt the price per 100 gems will stay at 10g for long… it’s probably all of the reintroduced minipet packs, the new gemstore items, and changes to the BLC’s that spiked it up this hard.
If it ever reaches 20g for 100 gems it’ll be because we have that much gold to spare/gold keeps getting easier to find.
It might rich 10g during the ls2 but briefly.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
Ya, you are not getting that dagger any time soon.
24g is not enough to even level from 1 to 400 yet alone 400 to 500 which requires about 90g, then you have get ascended materials which is fairly easy.

No reason other than never running out and not taking any inventory space. Oh and if you run a necro it can look cool. It’s entirely a convenience item.
Plus it’s $12.50. Never, ever try to equate the cost of on item in the Gem Shop to gold based on whatever the current exchange rate is because ANet doesn’t when pricing it.
It’s not like $12.50 is a lot of money to anyone – rather that spending $12.50 on a virtual mining pick in a game with no added stats ie magic find seems totally wasteful.
Thanks for the feedback!
Then don’t buy it. Value is in the eye of the beholder.

I have a similar problem. After sitting at the local coffee shop sipping ice water and making use of their free wi-fi for half an hour, they tell me I have to buy something or leave! Why should I have to pay money just to use their services, I bought a coffee there once a couple years ago. Isn’t that enough?
Maybe next time, you should tell that how much loyal you were and how for years you supported them. Or better yet, call the better business bureau and report this travesty, how dare them attempt to make a customer pay real money. If that doesn;t just make a ridiculous post on the forum asking why a company would favor real money over an imaginary one.

I respect you Evan and all the employees that work with you, but the fact of the matter is this; the things that you want to do and the things that you do end up doing are miles apart. Time is not in your favor and your updates are too infrequent to keep people invested in the game.
So they shouldn’t try to improve their game because people might potentially quit?
People are going to quit, quitting an mmo is part of playing an mmo. This feature is not PvP only, it actually benefits PvE and WvW more since they are more players in those game modes.
If you want to quit do it and if you want a parade make a post talking about all your accomplishments and how awesome you are.

What could be in a template:
- Skins
- Dyes
- Outfit
- Finisher
Things to consider:
- Sharing (chat links? codes? urls?)
- Viewing (seeing some else’s vs. seeing your own)
- Saving (notepad vs. local vs. account vs. web)
- Building (one spot in UI vs. multiple spots)
- Websites (third-party sites should work with in-game)
- APIs (Could expose an API to third-parties)
- PvP vs PvE vs WvW (each mode requires different configuration options)
How would you like to see any/all of these work?
All that is left isn’t that important especially in PvP. Doesn’t the dye get saved on the armor?
Finishers are not really that important for builds or it doesn’t get changed rarely enough to really matter in the long run.
API are not important because they are always working on them. It could be an added feature later.
Outfits are not important either.
The most important thing is just the ability to change your build & gear in a very fast manner whether in PvP, PvE or WvW.

I’m sorry Anet, but I can’t afford your game anymore.
I agree. It is totally unfair to expect me to log into a game once every 2 weeks, assuming I care about the story or the game.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
Seems like DLC gone wrong. I’d prefer Anet just charge everyone 200gem so they would have the resources to make content that doesn’t suck.
Instead they are shifting that burden on to the backs of players who travel a lot or take longer breaks from the game. Given the quality of S1 content (due in part to being free), I can’t imagine that many of the players in this category will actually want to buy missed episodes.
or if you don’t want to pay, take 5 minutes log in and log the kitten out. Assuming you care and if you don’t care enough to take 5 minutes within 2 weeks then you probably don’t care to do the story anyways.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
As usual people are overreacting. There haven’t said anything about LS1 other that they might do it, but it seems extremely unlikely they will do it. It seems more likely they added that particular line to keep player from asking them. They are not even certain.
I don’t mind paying for Good stuffs like SAB.
That is good content worth paying for.But i really cannot justify paying for rubbish like flame and frost. i really can’t.
SAB is not a living story.

This is pretty awesome but I don’t understand one thing, can somebody enlighten me?
They state you’ll be able to “unlock past story steps for 200 gems”, and if you read a bit further, it’s written you won’t be able to play the past storyline from S1 and your personal story.
To me it seemed logical to offer to play past releases for a small fee, so exactly what are we paying 200 gems for?
The whole point of the living story every 2 weeks was to force players to log in. This fee is more or less an incentive to get players to log in every to weeks or risk paying 20 or 200 gems.
You are paying 200 if you don’t log in within 2 weeks of a specific story step. This only applies to ls2.

I’m going to have to fully agree with Vol here (which doesn’t normally happen). Let’s hope future changes bring JS’s promise to fruition.
I hope it comes with using 4 superior runes and sigils in order to get rid of supply. One month a way. This is sickening.

To me, the forge serves only one purpose – to acquire precursors. No one in their right mind would gamble on the forge for the purposes of finding named exotics.
So I don’t see an increase in named exotics to be of an improvement that Anet would advertise.
The improvements I expected (or still expect) is a way to help balance the RNG aspect of precursors.
For example, for every combination ‘failure’ (no precursor received), you get a token. At a certain # of tokens – let’s say 1000, you can change that in for a guaranteed precursor.
That way, people who are unlucky enough to go on cold streaks end up getting a precursor.
I’ve been saying this in a few other threads, too. Four stacks of 250 precursor tokens = 1 precursor. Make it happen, ANet.
Do you know how much the price for mats will go up as a result? I don’t care enought to want to guess, but will probably shift the cost of the precursor onto the materials needed.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
There is no such thing as should. it is or it isn’t and it isn’t based on it because if it were, it would be the r80 finisher and not something else.
Also finisher are no longer a PvP or WvW only thing now, so, i suggest you pvper especially spvpers get use to way better finisher than that terrible dragon you got for farming skyhammer.

Y’know what would be fantastic? Treating the Mystic Forge as its own crafting discipline, including XP bonuses.
Or, in the very least, list the recipes we’ve discovered so we can recreate them. Not that /wiki is a huge bother, but the game should have more internal support of Zommoros’ Toilet.
You know what, that is totally not a terrible idea. At all, but you have to make it so that it doesn’t level as fast as regular crafting. Similar to magic find but a little harder since the purpose of it is to suck out gold from the economy.

Not a bug. It’s there for the only reason to prevent you from selling different items at a faster rate.
Just another annoying restriction. It’s been there since release.Nope, a dev recently confirmed it is a bug and that they are fixing it “soonish.” I’ll edit with source in a minute.
Edit: Here you go.
http://i.imgur.com/9WzwG45.jpg
Unfortunately, “soonish” could mean anything from next week to next year. The devs are infamous for delaying and forgetting about these things.
Just because a dev said it’s a bug doesn’t make it true. It’s a really convenient restriction hid behind the illusion of a bug,
Or it could be said that the devs are not a hivemind and even though one dev might think it is a bug, he probably said that because he doesn’t know what the other devs might be thinking.

Does Anet not understand that releasing things which already exist(perhaps in an altered form) and are difficult to get will only makes people upset? Did they not learn from the light flame armor?
This is obviously a very different dragon, but people will compare this asian style dragon to the r80 euro style one. And they will make their own decisions on preference. They should have just called it something like “chinese new year finisher”…less people might compare the 2…
There Is Someone Always Upset About Everything So It Doesn’t matter To them. Secondly, since pop has been dead for a year nkw and no one apparently plays it, then all the 10 people who do, are not significant enough to matter whether they get mad or not.
If arena net was concerned about avoiding people getting mad, they would have made the game buy to play with no cash shop an make money off of donations like kickstarter. While supporting their 300 man studio and returning ncsoft investment thru kickstarter.

Posting this for a couple other friends also, one of which hasn’t come back since Wildstar release:
The cost of precursors has caused some people to look at other games such as Wildstar. People bust their hump for a year hoping to craft their legendary, then precursors go up to 1k gold.
Just as my buddy was getting ready to get his incinerator, prices kept going through the roof for precursors. He got tired of it and hasn’t come back to gw2 since the release of Wildstar. I’m stuck in the same boat. Get map completion done, farm for months (over a year now from start), and get smacked in the face with a 1k gold precursor cost.
Increase the drop rate for precursors please.
since release of Wildstar a few days ago? It is almost like people like trying something new after playing the same mmo for a long time. Also it been a few days, new shiny mmo is more exciting than old one. Also your “buddy” should tell you he left instead of you finding out the way u do. In any case, going to wildstar still benefits ncsoft.
Also, increasing supply would only increase the price as well. You can find the topic somewhere here.

Most characters in GW2 are either Unbelievable, or Un-likeable.
Take Logan for example. He GAVE UP a chance to kill an Elder Dragon for a woman?
Ok fine. He is a fool. Fools are everywhere. And he was blind by love. Fine, as long as no harm no foul to us the players.
But we players are FORCED to like him.
Seriously?
Yes, because a new human character have NO CHOICE but to like Logan. The story DEMANDS it. This is a problem, because:
“Logan, I have nothing to say to the likes of you. You might be a very strong warrior. But you choose to sacrifice the whole world for a woman. I want nothing to do with you. Leave me be.”
Why? Because anyone can say the same thing.
“Oh, I would sacrifice the whole world for my wife!”
“Oh, I would sacrifice the whole world for my own life!”
“Oh, I would sacrifice the whole world for my wealth!”If everyone thinks this way, there would be no heroes.
Now it would have been fine if we players were given a choice to hate/disrespect Logan. But we weren’t given this option.
A dragon that is not a direct threat to his kingdom.
And given what we know, do you really want the ministry to be in charge of kryta?
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
The OP is also correct that there are more people in Tier 1-2 zones (new toons) and in T5-6 zones (better XP/Karma and generally more chances at exotics, ecto-dropping rares). This is a perennial problem in MMOs as the population evolves: there’s not much reason to stay in T3-4 zones.
In theory, the high price of the mats should encourage farmers to focus on those zones. In practice, I suspect a large number of potential farmers go after rich veins and tree-clusters instead, since that will be more efficient.
People also seem to favor L80 event chains over L30-50 ones, which reduces the potential supply of mats from non-champ bags (e.g. medium icy, light supply, miner bags, etc).
However, I disagree with the proposed solution: people already have plenty of options for where to go to gather their own T3-4 mats.
It also helps me feel like my infinite gathering tools are worth their cost (but they’re really not and I’ll never recover the investment ;D)
I mean if you bought them solely for the reason to recover your investment then you messed up big. But I suspect you already knew that.
Added: Actually, you will make your money back long before infinite. Assuming you do make 9g per 1 hr faming, you practically will make your money back for 1 tool in 6 days. 800gem=59g.

This armor is AWESOME. The fact that you can wear it for free without transmutation stones, combined with the fact that it gets unlocked for your ENTIRE account. This just makes this the best armor set in-game. At least for me. Totally worth 700 gems.
I love that too, but I’m having a hard time finding the right GS to go with. I’m a Sylvari Guardian, cosmestics is the biggest problem I have, I’m thinking in doing either a Charr Guardian or Asura because of this :/
Maybe Cerimonial, or the new WvW Weapons
Jade Greatsword. It is like 50 to 70 g but that GS is aesthetics are canthan based and so is the outfit.

People complained that megaservers prevented them from playing with guild members and people from their own worlds.
Now people are complaining that there are no EotM-like megaservers for events like these to consolidate the population that’s spread throughout the world servers (and timezones) and to make queuing possible. Make up your own minds people. XD
OK, maybe the option to join either a world server map instance or a megaserver map instance would be nice.
I don’t even know what you are or they are trying to say. The Pavillion is certainly a Mega Server zone. We’re all lumped together. The only thing people are doing is hoping between the number of zones available. If it’s 6, 9, or 10 total instances no one knows but, Anet.
Pavilion has little to do with the way mega server works given it low cap. For all intents and purposes, the the Pavillion would have triggered the overflow. So it doesn’t matter the only difference is that the Pavillion isn’t a cake walk.
Reading these topics it seems apparent that the people angry about these are mostly the same ones complaining about every single thing about the pavilion. Oh no, anet is finally making the game to require a brain.
Btw there are no rules against that. Anybody foolish enough to get scammed probably deserve it.

Obviously, they will have to put in special requirements like 4v5 you will have within the first minute to resign, doing so doesn’t provide any points to anybody.

- In-match vote on RNG selection
* Pro: Every map gets love, but you play on ones you like more often
* Con: You will sometimes play on maps you don’t likeIn a vote system, do you think people would vote for the already most-picked map to not ‘throw away’ their vote?
Like you said they will always be a map players don’t like, so as long as the players get to choose the less terrible map it wont be as bad as the current system where we have no choice. I think in this case the option of choosing the less terrible map is significantly better than playing on the terrible map.
So at the start of the match, the game will randomly pick two maps and the players vote on it. In other to prevent any bias, it might be better to not show the number of players voting until after the voting is over. Players will be more honest if they are not swayed by outside appearances.
If you want to make people more happier you could always add an option where players can leave and have the whole thing restart in order to minimize unbalanced teams.

Just remember helping out the needy and inexperience like me is beneficial to everybody for reasons, I cannot disclose as of yet.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
Also, I’m sure someone has said it already but the best way to make sure more people have matches with the filter system is to have the number of “omit selections” to only 1 selection.
Ideally, most people would just hate one map (cough skyhammer). So just have only 1 map you can choose to omit, then at least you’ll have at least 5 maps to match for each player. More intersections = more matches.
I believe WoW has this feature for Battlegrounds, where you can pick two that you don’t want to play.
This would definitely work… it’s just a question of whether or not Arenanet has the developers left to implement even such a miserably small change like this into the game.
That’s rather silly to say. You happen to notice the living world/living story stuff? They are still implementing them, hence, they have developers. Perhaps you noticed the april 15th changes too.
It’s a matter of priorities.
Yeah, exactly, what’s left of their development team is busy laying a breadcrumb trail for PvErs. Is that why we can’t have miserably small, desperately needed QoL changes like this?
And yeah, I noticed the dysfunctional traits and the new $$$$$ wardrobe system, thanks for pointing that out.
Why shouldn’t there at it’s peak, PvP wasn’t even making a fraction of the money PvE is making.

Hi,
I’m sitting about 50g now and want to buy some gems. But I refuse to buy them when I get less than 100 gems for each 10g. Last night it would just not get to that level. For my 50, it was 490, 497, 495… etc and never above 500.
So, get off your Duff and buy some gems with cash so that I get above 50 for my 50g.
Please.
Forget that, I used to buy gems (gem cards) but my wallet has been locked for a few months now, and until the game improves and an expansion is sold, I can’t see myself buying another gem again. Buying gems would reinforce the idea that I support what the devs are doing to the game and I don’t.
Don’t worry buddy, an expansion wont happen for at least a minimum of 1 year and fortunately for the developers they only need like 15% of the population to buy stuff to make profit on AVERAGE.
As long as idiots buy bling that have no affect on stats, the game is doomed. Oh boy I can buy a hat with flowers on it—what fools they are and it ensures that game will not improve.
Or they are people with different preference than you, I mean who knew that there people out there different than you? Only a fool, disregards a person individual perferene.
What makes your comment even more sadder is the fact that the game has been improving without the need for an expansion. So what you are really saying is you want to pay 60 dollar for something you can get for free.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
Problem is it has nothing to do with luck. The only ones that will have it are the trade post flippers or people with deep pockets that convert gems to gold. I know if I’m lucky enough to have one drop I’m going to instantly sell it. If they were going to make it so rare make it account bound.
Yes, luck is really the only way to make this truly rare. “skill”, which I think is nonexistent in any game because as long as you don’t give up, you will get succeed. Worst case someone more “skilled” than you finds a way to beat the system letting the unskilled get it.
Also the reason why you sell is because you have deemed the skin to not be worth the potential money you can make. That is what I call a personal problem.

As a fan of skyhammer this feature would make me sad ;_;
Thank you for responding, as this is a very real case we would have to handle. What would make this feature work for you?
Here is the thing, there is literally very few ways to make everybody happy with respect to skyhammer short of either redesigning skyhammer or removing it from soloQ. The is no in between those two options.
Reading your post it seems you are stuck in trying to please the people that like skyhammer and those who don’t and you shouldn’t. The design of this system should not be predicated on one very specific and controversial map. i am not a designer, but I like to think that creating a new system and implementing it will probably require far more work than simply redesigning skyhammer to make it less terrible.

that’s why anet shouldn’t spend too much efford designing this organized content. Give us more gauntlet or flying doylak, or sky crystal, or aspect arena content.
I’m fine if they made more organized raid content. I just hope that is not the “emphasis” of the next living story.
I’ve to disagree.
I’m not a big fan of massive battles so I would be fine with more content where I rely just on my own performance, but this is an MMO and group content, even massive one, not only needs to exist but must be the “emphasis” for the most part.IMHO ANet has been doing a great job with this open world massive group content for the last LS releases. Marionette, Watchwork Knights, Boss Blitz … all of them are a huge improvement from the “lets blob and spam attacks so we tag as much as we can”
design we got for over a year.
None of them can be compared with an organized raid. While more complex than mindless zerging (everything is), main procedures have been easy enough to be handled just with the use of map chat and the main reasons for them to fail have been either a lack of population (already “solved” by megaservers) and some players’ attitude.
That’s what needs to change, and if it needs to be the hard way, so be it.Than give us instanced raid. Which they dont’ want to give us.
The open world have no chance on success anyway.
Guild wars 2 was built on the premise of no instanced raids. If you want instanced raid they just released a new game that has lots of it, but with a slightly better combat than WOW.
The thing i like about guild wars 2 is, I can particiapte in all those raid like things without having to subject myself to being in a guild with jackweeds. If I want to do Teq or Wurm or blitz I can do them without being in TTS.

It is literally vicious capitalism at work, making the game more and more intimidating for especially new and returning players…
That’s one of the things you need to live with if you choose to take a break from the game. Players who left and come back to complain they’re so far behind, just have to realize it’s their own doing.
Except it was supposed to be the MMORPG where you could stop playing for a while without getting far behind.
Except That hasn’t changed. You can quit after hitting 80 a year and half ago and come back and be up to speed within a few hours as in you run a couple of dungeons use the money to buy exotics. Up to speed in one night. How many MMORPGs can you do that for?

Or if they wished to go to a major city they could simply go through the portal to LA then to any major city.
Anet would not longer be able to suck funds from the “special snowflake” people who buy items off the gem store like: Pavilion passes, Airship passes, Personal Banker (limited), Personal Trading Post (limited), Personal Storage (limited), etc..
In Anet’s eyes, they would lose: Potential funds from gems and a “gold sink” in game. I am not saying they won’t put it in because they do stuff that makes no sense all the time and you can not being to predict what they will do next, but I would guess they will not add it.
Your comments fall apart the moment you realize that in most cases except possibly a few servers, you can easily go to WvW to do all those things. I know right, I mean how would I expect you to know about WvW.

I almost want to farm for it- but in any case.. it’s so frustrating- thanks anet
Why make 3 other ‘god’ related back pieces pretty easy to get if you farm for them- and this one yeah same concept to farm for but – like what makes it better? sigh* just another Anet let down
Becasue not every body should have everything. I wish the game stop doing this whole everybody wins kitten for skins. I say make it rarer so that only the lucky few and get it.

I only play one toon. I did all 8 crafting disciplines on my ranger. My other toon slots are only used as mules at the moment. 40-50 silver doesn’t encourage me to level more toons. I have my reasons to only play one toon. So let it go at that.
Good for you. But a lot more people but you are just one man afterall.

It is simple a lot of MMORPG players love to idealize MMORPG but once it gets release those blinders fall off and they get hit with reality of the game. This is extremely common and has happened with warhammer, aion, swtor, gw2, tera and recently ESO. It will probably happen with wildstar, just wait a month.
Another possibility is that a certain group expects every mmorpg to appeal to them and when it doesn’t they feel either threaten by it, so they bash it.
Another group are the former guild wars 1 players, that have idealize the stuffing out of guild wars 1 and have managed to gross over the issues guild wars 1 had at the time of it’s prime.
All these three things have two things in common, mmorpg players lack the ability to NOT be emotional invested in games they play. The concept of just walking away of a game doesn’t exist or resonate with them. And they are all done by a small vocal minority.

With chaos of lyssa recipe as end reward :P
Then the whole value of it will drop.

I doubt we will see any big changes to this game until Wildstar has launched.
NC Soft is probably keeping the lid on things in Guild Wars2 in the hopes that many will try/migrate to Wildstar, a game with similar aspirations but a subscription fee.
Guild Wars probably won’t get rolling again with interesting features until Wildstar is 2+ months into it’s life-cycle.
Or unless you have been living under a rock and missed the announcement, presumably until july 1. I doubt the changes being held are related to PvP and not just to content in general.

If they are going to fix the recipe, which I hope they don’t, it wont be until june 3rd when they patch in the WvW season 2 vendor.
What make you think Tuesday is the special day?
That would be when the vendor for WvW tournament gets implemented, presumably this would be also when any changes COULD be made too the drop rate, assuming it is a bug and not intentional.
