This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.

GW2 is way bigger than Prophecies was at release.
Interestingly people like to throw around tons of numbers
Those are called facts, it’s what people tend to use in arguments
but they don’t like to throw number of professions and number of races.
gw1 had more professions… not at release no, but gw2 is not at release, it’s been out for over a year
They also don’t like to talk about crafting.
Because it’s boring as kitten
GW1 added very few in terms of free content.
And that’s why the content added in gw1 vastly superior. Free =/= better
People just don’t understand that GW1 basically had a tiny Live Team while GW2 has a decently sized live team.
Indeed, gw2 has a lot more developers working on it. So why are we getting less?Guild Wars 2 at release has indeed more content than Guild Wars 1 at release. But in the end, gw1 got tons more content and guild wars 2 is not at release anymore.
Guild wars 2 was bigger than guild wars 1 after all it’s updates.
You are comparing GW2 to GW Prophecies right? I would hope so.
Guild wars 2 to all of gw1.
LOL, you’re funny. I’ve been having a crappy day at work. I needed that.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
I played GW1 for 4000 hours, and didn’t do everything there was to do. It has at least twice the amount of content that GW2 has at present. Tyria+EotN expansion areas, Elona, Cantha. As I said…
You’re a funny guy, Sully.
You are right, guild wars 2 at release guild wars 2 was only bigger than phophecies + 1 stand alone. so they got only 5 more years to get more “content” than gw 1.
Edit: Never mind i was right. guild wars 2 is bigger than all of guild wars 1 including the expansion. Assuming you trust what Colin had to say about it.
CJ: From a sheer content perspective, volume of game space and stuff you can do, the first Guild Wars with all the expansion packs is about the same size as Guild Wars 2 will be on release – it’s massive.

Finally, it is always amusing seeing player idealize Everquest and see them bemoan how current MMORPG lack the soul of the EQ without ever trying to figure why that is. They complain how modern MMO don’t seem to capture EQ and blah blah blah. Let me tell you, the reason why no MMORPG can stand up to EQ is probably because people tend to idealize the past and they expect a other MMO to recapture an idealization (same reason why older folks love to idealize the 50s). Nothing will ever beat the first time you experience something you enjoy.
Wow, speak for yourself man. I remember my first time in bed with a woman. She was about as much fun as log in a forest.
Old folks like the 50’s because it reminds them of their youth. You know…when they could do whatever they want and not have a care in the world? Kinda like a lot of us here? It has little to do with being the “first” experience of their lives.
Good for you buddy, but i was talking about things you enjoyed and had a big emotional impact.
I guess you are the antithesis of nostalgia.

Guild wars 2 was bigger than guild wars 1 after all it’s updates. Unless you are one those people that think Anet should have release the game with half the map and then added more maps as new “content”.
The major difference between gw1 and gw2 is after prophecies, all anet had to do was follow a formula for new content. Guild wars 2 however suffers from trying to do something different. I would rather have something new than a similar hey here is a new map go do something.
The same reason why no company has ever done it, it is not easy or there isn’t an efficient way to do it. Finally, it would probably require too much scripting since AI isn’t at the point where it can do it.
The reality is this, I see gw 2 DE more as a stepping stone for future MMORPG to tackle. It is easy to criticize the inventor and praise the innovator. Just remember gw2 is not the last MMORPG that will be made, someone will come a long and outdo Anet vision for DE and we all win, unless you own NcSoft stock.
Your question isn’t a very good question since it depends on developers to answer and I don’t think any developer will answer since it serves no purpose.
If I wanted vertical progression I would have stuck to WoW, their game was built for vertical progression and is a much more rewarding experience. I came to GW2 to play wvw and the happy thoughts that I wouldn’t have to upgrade my pvp gear every season, like you need to do in WoW every 6 months, but two months into release and that illusion wkittentered.
Now every time I step into wvw I always have to think about obtaining ascended gear, because sooner or later enough people are going to have enough pieces to make a difference in battles. Why oh why was this game not build with spvp and wvw systems separate from pve.
I have the exact same opinion. I came to this game from wow for the same reason.
I came to GW2 from RO for the same reason as well.
First of all;
Guildwars 2 = Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG)
DotA 2 = Massive Online Battle Arena (MOBA)
LoL = Massive Online Battle Arena (MOBA)
TF2 = Online Multiplayer FPS
DAYz = Online Shooter/Hack’n’SlashTHESE ARE FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT GENRE’S. AND AS THUS, THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN HOW THEY ARE BALANCED, MARKETED, EVOLVED, PLAYED AND CREATED.
A MOBA is based upon competitive arena matches. Everything is supposed to be balanced in such a way that you have enemies you got advantages over, and some enemies got advantages over you.
A FPS game is just that, a first person shooter. You point, you click, you shoot and avoid getting shot back.
A shooter is simply a game where you blow enemies apart using guns and or whatever you got at hand without any real motivation behind the whole ordeal other then “kill because (insert shallow reasoning)”. If you kill random mobs using melee with that same conscept, it is called a hack’n’slash game. For MMORPG’s, vertical progression is a must at some point, sometimes, it arrives too soon, other times, it arrives way way too late.
If that’s really the definition of MMORPG than this genre ought to die. Remember when MMORPG were RPG that were all about the immersion of playing a character/person with powers you can’t archieve IRL, just for the sake of it plus awesome adventures- but with thousands of other people who populate your world? Me neither. For some reason every single mmorpg there is got lost somewhere down the road and focuses on gear and stats / spreadsheet based combat now. However that doesn’t change my defintion of MMORPGs which doesn’t involve those things at all. VP is a degenerated feature which merely mutated to the most important aspect of MMORPGs because the last time somebody dared innovation was back when the first everquest mmo was released…
There is a reason why MMORPG =/= RPG. If you hate grind don’t play an MMORPG.
MMORPG to me are inherently bad video games. The purpose of a video game is to have fun, the purpose of an MMORPG it to waste your time as much as possible in other to make you think you are having fun.
Ultimately, your definition of an MMORPG is irrelevant to anything. You can scream it all you want, but companies are catering to what they think is the majority of the market desire. So your opinion of the what constitutes an MMORPG doesn’t mean kitten, if you strongly feel that way make an MMORPG that suits that vision. Until then you will have to take whatever companies make and you can either play it or not.
It’s a matter of perception, alright. To me the stat difference is not small and all the complaints are perfectly justified.
The difference is small if you know the game mechanics, but you are right in a way. To someone losing 10 bucks isn’t that big of a deal to some it losing 10 bucks is a huge deal.
You do realize if you create something completely broken with those Sigils/Runes rework, and it takes 4 months for you to fix it, it’ll be GW2’s pvp death?
I for one am playing LoL until you: nerf/change HS, nerf warriors and overall classes to be in balance with elementalists or so/remove Skyhammer & Spirit Watch from solo queue.
Weird, from reading the forums I thought PvP died years ago.
Developers have tried HP for years, it doesn’t work. People don’t want it. It doesn’t populate a world. It’s too casual. It doesn’t make people log in.
People who log in every day, who populate servers, who make the zerg, who make the guilds, the Hardcores people sneer at, the min maxers, the elitists. These are the people who MMO’s are targeted at.
A casual, horizontal progression based pve focused MMO wouldn’t keep people logging in. And without people logging in, grinding, going after the carrot…you don’t have a MMO. Horizontal progression is a carrot that isn’t a carrot. Players need a why. To look pretty? May as well play Super Fun Barbie Adventure Dress Up Time. Do you see a SFBADUT mmo?
It’s why Ascended isn’t drawing people to this game. There is no reason to go after it. It’s an empty, shallow, pointless progression system. There is zero reason for it to be in there.
Horizontal “progression” will never successfully happen in an mmorpg focused on pve content. It’s human nature. People want to progress, and they want that progression to matter.
Therein lies the ultimate issue: ArenaNet didn’t want to upset all the GW1 fans (arguably the ones that should be the staunchest GW supporters) by implementing a crazy expensive, time-gated grind that was NECESSARY to succeed at the game.
They had already felt the fallout and lashback from the player-base with the initial introduction of Ascended.
So they kept it to a 5% increase on stats…
It’s beneficial, but not required.
However, it’s extremely time-gated and expensive…
So if it’s not required, and the armor doesn’t look that great (most people would probably just Transmute over top of it)…
Then what’s the point to crafting it?
They failed to appease vertical progressionists because it doesn’t give them enough artificial superiority…
And it just upset the horizontal progressionists (who arguably supported ANet the most… with GW1 and then pre-ordering GW2 on the promise of horizontal gameplay).
Actually, it is not a failure it is rather brilliant on that part and here is why.
By making it the difference between having ascended armor and exotic low, the player that hate VP, don’t feel compelled to get to it and they don’t feel punished for not having it. By making it ugly, it gives the people that hate VP an even bigger reason to not waste their time getting the armor. If the armor actually looked good, a lot more people would be compelled to get it which leads to more discontent.
So the only ones getting the armor are those that enjoy vertical progression, the ones that have to have the BiS. Everybody wins, the people who love VP get their +5 percent , the ones who hate VP, don’t waste their time over 5% + ugly armor.
The percentage difference is not significant in any mode of combat. IT is not in WvW, unless you are equally skilled, same lag, 1v1, same build, same foods and same amount of luck. Too many variables to control.

It is good to see an ele on the other team. Nothing is better than watching an ele attempt their burst (s/d) and fail spectacularly. Even better, I can screw up in a fight agaisnt an ele and still not be concern about dying. Oh in a middle of a fight, I can select a episode on netflix, while I completely ignore them.
ON average only 5% of a population visits a game’s official forum. The point being the vocal minority are called the vocal minority for a very logical reason.
I can’t help but roll my eyes every time someone uses “slap in the face” in a thread that complains about something…
The whole PvP is a slap in the face
It is funny though. Slap in the face is used so commonly that it has almost no meaning. AT this stage NOT using “slap in the face” will actually mean more than using it.
Such an overused word and although it is suppose to invoke emotions all it does is invoke an eye roll.
The whole PvP is such an “eye roll”.
Better now?
I feel sleepy.
It seems like a lot of you guys are being a little over dramatic or excited about LA being destroyed. While that is a nice sentiment, I feel like as usual, a lot of people here are setting themselves up for disappointment, just like it usually happens with the unknown. This is usually the source for player generated hype and inevitably players will instead blame the developers.
So it is great that you are excited, but also acknowledge that you it might turn out not as grand and spectacular as some of you might think it will. Don’t set expectations too high. Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed.

I don’t think many people fully understand that this is not a benefit in any way to pvp players, as OP explained. If we are objective and cynical about the situation, the conclusion is: pvp rewards are being reset to allow $$$ -> gems -> items in pvp.
the goal of this new change isn’t to 100% benefit PvPers, let’s be honest here the population is so small compared to other aspecs of the game that it is negligable. The goal just like every promotion is to bring in new players. Some PvP players might benefit from it, but the goal is to bring in players from WvW and PvE.
At this stage all we can really do is hope that PvPers don’t lose access to their armor skins, cuz I luv my arah armor. Honestly though there is a real possibility of that. Another possibility is also that they are might use this as an opportunity to bring back the old gw1 style build and customization system.
I was just looking for some clarifications on this from someone who may know.
This post is to let you know that glory will no longer be awarded as of a maintenance build that is currently planned for March 18.
At that time we will also be removing all existing random reward chests from PvP.This information was found here.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/phasing-out-pvp-glory/1. Are saved pvp chests in banks or on characters, from reaching the achievement threshold or gained through pvp, being removed? If you are wondering why they were being kept the idea is that they my contain gold after the update.
2. What is happening to glory boosters after the update?
Thank you advance!
I would like to ask for many who are asking me, why is glory being taken from PvP in the first place? What is the core reasoning?
Because they want PvP to be based entirely on gold to make it easier to transition from PvP to PvE and vice versa. But mainly for the PvE side of the game, I think they believe at this stage they are trying to lure in PvEer.
This doesnt answer what will happen to all the armor you collected over the months because If we lost them, I m going to be kittened.
I missed the part about the points, so what is going on with the points thingy?
The problem with GW2 is this:
It is now one of the most grindy popular games on the market atm.
That in itself wouldn’t be a problem but the gear you grind for is not rewarding enough to warrant the grind.
Beyond fractals – The +1 stat here and +2 stats there is horrible. Also, add into that fact the gear looks terrible and you have lackluster rewards for all that farming.
The main issue with GW2 is Anet is hovering between two different sides of game models. They need to pick one because as it stands we are not getting the best of both worlds we are getting the least.
If you think gw2 is grindy, you should probably stick to western single player games. That should be enough for you.
You don’t know grind grind until you ran an instance 200 times and not get a single piece of armor suitable for your class.
Anet’s Pre release hype was “no more grind”, basically realizing the “grind” issues and how disenchanted players of GW were with it. Now we have the Ascended Armor / FOTM “Grind”. What the heck Anet? Was pre release hype re: No grind just a con job? Would seem a bit hypocritical to me. This games direction is going to vertical in my opinion. I think Anet is shooting itself in the foot!
Arenanet made that game but within the first month realized that a lot more people actually wanted grind in their MMORPG because once they hit level cap, they had nothing to work on. the people they were trying to attract with the no grind, were not significant enough to sustain the game long term and to generate profit, so they did what any company that wants to stay in business do, they change and gave the people want they wanted. for example, a lot of gw1 players did not transition due to the changes in the combat system and click to move, others wanted gw1 but with updated graphics, the point being gw1 fans became insignificant to the success with gw2 adn once they realized that began cutting all threads relating to it except the b2p model. They also thought that dynamic event was going to be endgame, but people only seem to care about DE when there is some type of reward attached to it. The point being their design intentions did not match the reality of the market.
—snip—
Unless someone from ANet told you this, it’s conjecture.
If you want to tell yourself that go right ahead. OR you could read the interviews from that time period 2012, they pretty much spell it out for you.

You guys been watching the recent tournaments with Cheese Mode?
Curious what you guys think about that double warrior comp beating down the competition.
8% shave will fix it…NO DOUBT.
Ofc it will fix Healing signet, just like improving Ele sustain by doing nothing the exact opposite will somehow improve the ele sustain.
there is still no indication on how PvP/PvE items will be transferable.
Will I be able to use skins/armor from PvE to PvP and vicerersa? This may be useful in order to spend the glory left buying armor sets.
And all it took was 2 seconds to bring up the road map.
In the months that follow, we will be working to eliminate the difference between PvP and PvE gear. Players will be able to earn gear in PvP that can be carried over to PvE and vice versa. This means that players who have carefully crafted their appearance in one area of the game will have a way to carry that look over to other areas of the game.
Ascended materials conversion has been suggested many-many times because different people prefer doing different content and would be happy to convert them even at a discriminating exchange rate. I for one am drowning in dragonite but have very little empyreal.
Trick for Empyreal:
Take your alts and park them at the Morgan’s Spiral Jumping Puzzle chest. Every day, log into each alt and open the chest.
You’ll be rolling in fragments with no effort.
Evil but brilliant….
It’s even better to park them at the LA pirates puzzle. That puzzle has the best chest in the game and the largest loot table.
All you need is a mesmer to port all your characters up.
I did not know that. I usually get crappy drops from the jumping puzzle in Sylvari land.

Companies that don’t change to match reality end up like blockbuster or sears or Hostess.
The great thing about gw2 however, is that you don’t need to have any of those ascended armor or gear. No content except fractures, but it practically gives you all you need to do, gear wise is punishing you for being in exotics.

Won with:
engie ranger warrior guard thief
vs
warrior warrior warrior warrior eleWhat happens is the warriors are so OP they grow complacent and lose their skill, meaning a skilled balanced team can win.
Or maybe the warriors were noobs? new people to the wonderful world of easysaurs?
Problem is they need very high damage or the whole game mode becomes a boring bunker-fest. So, whilst it isn’t ideal to have massive damage, it is very needed. In fact damage is too low in the game right now relative to sustain
Really? It seems that the TTK ratio is really really high.
Do the developers really want feedback? If so, then I have a story for them.
Before I played GW2 I used to play Rift. The PvP there was not as good as GW2, but it was decent…at first.
In the beginning the PvP was decent. Then the developers tried to balance the PvP.
And so they buffed warriors and thieves.
And the nerfed warlocks and pyromancers. And so the game persisted. Players clamored about the imbalance that existed, and even offered suggestions on how to improve the balance.
And the developer response was the same: we have to be mindful of scope (though the changes were typically analogous to changing one or two talents). And they did nothing. And warriors and thieves rampaged over the battlegrounds.
That was about 2 years ago.
The other day I swung into the Rift forums and saw the same complaints. Nothing changed.
Today, in GW2, I see warriors are overpowered and still dominating the meta, as exemplified by teams like Cheese Mode winning tournaments with double warrior.
Thieves are the apex roamer class, pushing out Elementalists and Mesmers from the meta. And I see ArenaNet doing nothing to change this.
I believe history will repeat itself.
As long as people keep buying gems don’t expect anything to ever really change.
Makes one wonder why you still bother if believe nothing is goign to change. Just for the record, the ones complaining like us are generally not the ones that prop up the game.
Things will change somewhat, but major sweeping changes don’t seem like they will happen or will happen so slowly people will just start to lose interest before they are fully realized. I firmly believe that this games B2P model is it’s biggest saving grace at the moment.
I mean, it’s been almost 2 yeas and we still don’t have a new spvp game mode. WvW got a new map and it’s just more of the “zerg the local” game play we’ve always had.
If Anet had a real competitor that made them afraid to lose customers we’d probably see a lot more innovation and change than we have been with their only real drain being general player bemusement.
Guild wars 2 is as innovative as it can get when compared to most games in the MMORPG market. It might have issues, but so do other games in the market.
You are right that spvp hasn’t had a new mode in 2 years, that is true, what you forgot to realize is that the amount of people who do spvp isn’t really significant enought to matter. In terms of money, if most spvp players left the game, I doubt it will affect gw2 in any meaningful way. I am not arguing that gw2 doesn’t have issues, I m simply saying everything you said seems to be based in fantasy land.
There will be the Ready Up Stream today in which they will explain what happens to Glory.
You sure? Not wvw?
If you are going to act uninformed at least do it with a topics that wasn’t splatter over the PvP thread.
I have around 5 stacks of tpvp-chests. If i would open them, i would mostly get PvP-crafting materials and magic find (~4000 each stack).
So here are my questions:
What happens to glory-boosters after the patch?
Will the tpvp-Chests be removed from inventory after the patch?
What will happen to pvp rankup-chests?
What will happen to pvp boxes gotten from achievementpoints?
Will magic-find be useful in future PvP and for what?
Will pvp-crafting be removed or are we able to craft all the things from chests and dyes after the patch?
Most of your questions can be answer if you actually read the previous articles about future PvP stuff.
Don’t we have a greatsword already. . .?
Yeah… but its a stupid ranged-weapon for some reason….
Because it is a channeling weapon? Just like the target is a short range weapons (skill wise, you don’t actually hit your opponent directly with the edges of the weaponss).
That seems so exciting, NOT.
I was hoping more information on the other half of the balance patch would be discussed.
were starting to become embarrassing … you made the tournament for the WvW instead of the Spvp that need it like bread?? where the kitten is guild vs. guild?? are beginning to stress even the most loyal players as usual … let’s see if you do not give an answer ….. you do not accept the classic “when it’s ready”
They already talked about doing a ladder. I don’t know when but it might start after the last living story update.
they talked a lot bout everthing since release and even before but delivered NOTHING
no one believes them anymore when they say “its on the horizont” or crap like this
for me arenanet devs are just liers – they say what people wanna hear when forum gets a bit louder but they dont do anything
even this maps they showed are just placebos
when arenanet guyz say something here in forum what they working on i bet they laugh about with the other guyz and go all day “lol pvp” and “haha they believe this”^^
I don’t particular care what they talked about at released or before it. I learned a long time ago to ignore marketing speak and see for myself.
I am talking about what they said in december of 2013. Whether it comes true or not is not my business, just simply relaying the information. But it does seem like it might be but like I said, I don’t own a stake in the company so I don’t really care one way or the other.

salivates
Amen.
I do wish the gun welding was a little more elegant.
I’ll tell you exactly what it is.
Too little, too late.
RIP my interest in WvW. Some time 6 months ago.
Thanks for sharing.
If you don’t care, why bother posting here?
Seasons did more harm than good.
We went from having healthy competition between 3 servers to 1 now tanking itself in NA. All of which developed from Season 1.
Give credit to where it is due, seasons was not the reason why that happen.
“Finally, we have also made some changes to the way we determine which world you belong to for your tournament rewards. Instead of being associated with the first world you log in on during the tournament we are tracking various activities in WvW to more closely align your rewards with the world you played on.”
explain this to me. no more servers?
I think this means, and I could be wrong, that the old system was set up so when you first logged into WvW when Season 1 was going on, that was your sever for the entirety of Season 1. I know for sure that some players switched during that 7 weeks of gameplay.
With the new system, if you switched 2 weeks in and played the last 5 weeks of gameplay on another server, you would be rewarded with the one you were on longest. There would be an NPC there just to remind you for those who happen to jump ship often.
I guess that makes sense. Luckily I can go it all in EoTM so I hopefully don’t have to deal with JQ and BG.
let most people that ask for AoE, they don’t think about the implications of removing the AoE cap.
Zerging wont go away due to AOE cap remover, because the cap removal will involve significantly reducing the effects of AOEs to the point of irrelevance since that would be unfair to certain classes. So essentially nothing really changed.
Zerg is part of most games with open world faction based PvP, it is in aion (when I played b efore 2.7 for 2 years) and it is in blade and soul.
“Finally, we have also made some changes to the way we determine which world you belong to for your tournament rewards. Instead of being associated with the first world you log in on during the tournament we are tracking various activities in WvW to more closely align your rewards with the world you played on.”
explain this to me. no more servers?
I don’t understand that part either. I was hoping they would go to a EoTM style scoring system before they introduce season 2.
I would increase vitality and toughness. Will reduce attunement to 9 seconds max and link all skills CD to arcane. Reduce setting skill CD.
Change elementalist active defense from healing to cantrip (reduce CD) and Auras. Auras are our thing, I see no reason why there are so few.
go back to the original design of the ele.
fire: high aoe dmg
water: healing
air: high single target dps
earth: defense.
Bring back the defense in earth and in all weapons.
The problem with ele is actually the player base. Let me explain. There are some fantastic eles out there. I’ve seen some in matches recently. In general though, these are few. Why? It is because other classes are easier to play.
So, the challenge… How to make the class more accessible to more people without making it completely OP to those who are already good eles.
If you have to put in 3 times the effort for 1/2 the result as the other class then the class has a problem. Difficulty for the sake of it, is a waste. If you enjoy feeling like a pro compare to everyone else, handicap yourself, but don’t use the excuse that complexity is the issue why elementalist has a problem.
The issue with the ele isn’t the player base, the issue is the fact that the class was poorly design or the design of the ele was not improved to take into account the changes in the game.
Guardian, really?
It is the most balance and aware class in the game. the guardian is great everywhere and has no real flaws, not OP and not weak.
I have a hard time understanding all the engi posts they singularly feel like the most well-rounded right now. Their primary issue I’d say is how garbage turret builds are and aesthetically the Hobosack… pls no more hobosack. Outside of that I’d say it’s a l2p issue and people wanting things to be what they dream up in their heads instead.
It’s most definitely just a desire to make turrets more viable in multiple areas of the game and improving their AI. AI improvements would be seen in the Ranger pets as well.
Aside from turrets, Engis are in a pretty good spot compared to the poor ranger
@thedenofsin – If all professions are brought to the level of Guardian or Warrior, then nothing’s imbalance and everything’s super powerful (how it should be)
It should not be like that, putting everything on warrior level is serious power creep which would make much content too easy.
It wont make content easy. It will make content as difficult as a level 80 going to queensdale, pretty much so easy that there is no reason to even do the instance.
1. Elementalist.
2. Ranger
3. I don’t care about the third one.
Just a fact, In RA it didn’t matter if u had a low skilled player as much as it does in GW2. Actually won so much with a lowskilled in RA, and had some fun. In GW2 it’s nearly instant gg.
A lot of the time no healer = instat GG as well. Or is nostalgia that blinding?

Except that according to the story there is only 1 commander (PC) and yet whenever you see a mission there are hundreds of commander doing stuff.
Why don’t you complainers explain to me why there are so many commanders out there fighting the marionette with me, even though they is supposedly only one.
Why do merchant NPC have an infinite amount of gold?
Why where to mobs magically come from?
Why do mobs have exotic armor.
How come I have to kill 20 mobs to blood when all mobs have blood?
Some of you guys are nitpicking things that exist for gameplay reason.
Why do players get more health as they kill more stuff. Why should a mob suddenly become less threatening?
These are all question you could ask as well.
To the person using GI Joe as an example, GI joe is a tv series. Tv Series are entirely story and character driven. Video games are mainly gameplay dominated. Without the gameplay aspect, MMORPG will completely fall apart. Imagine playing a game where mobs never respawn, you better hope you are the first one on the map or you wont ever level.

I don’t even know how the hell does she keep getting more and more soldiers, robots, resources, weapons and all that crap with us don’t noticing where the f… she is getting them from (or where is she building them), while we keep destroying her armies time after time.
So yeah, unlimited army with unlimited resources and many kicks in the butt of the lore.Hope they all die.
You are trying to separate game play from lore. According to the lore, there is only 1 commander, yet when I go to fight the marionette they are tens of commanders, does that mean they are tens of commanders or it is just a gameplay thing.
Gameplay > lore.
Scarlet has unlimited resources just like they are millions of commander (PC) out there. Just like there are an unlimited amount of centaur, inquest etc.
That would make for an unneccessary twist. it will feel like taking an average story and making it worst just to introduce a not interesting race.

So I guess my question is, do we really want this?.
The notion of changing existing zones instead of giving us new zones to explore is akin to rearranging the furniture in a house and telling the owners it’s a new house entirely. It’s not. It’s the same house, you just shuffled the furniture around and painted the walls a different color.
Based on your logic. Getting new zone is exactly like hiring movers to uproot your house to a different location and do minor interior redesigning. New location same stuff, no real difference. The only real difference is one of them cost more money and splinter fanbase even more. After the initial rush, DE will go undone and the zone will be empty and people going back and complaining about adding new zones.

relax, nothing will hapend to LA, too much is tight to LA like personal story, every event(dragon bash, halowin, wintersday…etc). Mabye a part of LA will be change, some memorial plaque here and there or crap like that
and the next LS will be along “yeeee, we win against the evil forces of [insert generic bad]” and everything is back to normal
Also, as someone who now knows what is to come, this will change Tyria forever moving forward.
We all know what is going to happen. it will be reveal that scarlet is really the servant of Evon. All of this was just his plan to scare away kiel and own LA.
He could have gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for those meddling heroes and their hot sexy lesbian friends.
Not to be that guy but if you knew wat is going on, why make the thread?
