Perhaps the only RP-oriented guild on the server
Main Character: Farathnor (sylvari ranger) 1 of 22
autodeposit would only make sense if you could drag stuff from your bank/storage into the mystic fountain and stuff
keep in mind that the quality of the tools you use to salvage also plays a role. better tools, less accidents.
which is why there are different types of kits
my only real objection with the patch is the change in when and how you get traits. fine with unlocking them but the implementation of that needs more thought as well.
oh and i could do so much more with permanent skin unlocks -per item- while keeping skin unlocking in general as it is now
other than that? the patch has been awesome. plus, it actually improved my chances for rp, although i do sympathise with those it hit on that front
my only problem with weather effects in norn lands is that i cannot turn them off, at least till my graphics driver is fixed and they become mostly transparent once more
but yeah, they do bleed into buildings, especially around corners and doorways
I had long hair for almost 17 years so believe me when I say I always try to give at least one character proper long hair, in whatever game I play.
…but then you went along and chose the single example that is most likely to turn them off the idea forever :P
(also, i think there is a similar hairstyle in the hair kits)
so i am not the only ranger that uses sword… huh…
oh and wmtyrance, check your pm
wmtyrance, I’ve been running dungeons on my lvl 80 ranger for more than a year now. to my knowledge, i never have been in zerker gear (nor am i a bearbow ranger). aside from a paladin in TA-Aether, i’ve never gotten any grief over my profession or choice of gear.
to this day, i’ve run almost every single path at least once and only rl is stopping me from doing dungeon runs more often
There are a couple of possible arguments, neither very strong I admit.
One is lore, they are distinct species with their own culture and each culture has it’s own unique hairstyles. The second would be that having all hairstyles in common would cause a certain amount of homogenization.
that’s pretty much all there is needed really. while it is possible for -some- hairstyles to be common, each race has a distinct culture and deserve their unique hairstyles
pretty much the same reason we have cultural armours and they should remain so
yes please. we badly need that (well, I badly need that and i knew a few others that would love it) specially now with the wardrobe in effect
easier on the bags, easier on planning your build, not giving single weapon professions (looking at you elementalists and engineers) any undue advantage
17 characters (not toons, please)
2* lvl80s
1* 100% map completion
mostly a matter of time why i don’t have more
wouldn’t that make it B2P actually?
I think they timed the release poorly. so close to Easter and all. Did they think people would be too busy being on vacation and not playing the game?
But yeah, not sure if ANet or NCsoft is responsible for the lack of feedback (I suspect it is the latter) but it is definitely not helping.
@Blair
You did the right thing, though in their defense, many participants of the Queensdale train really don’t know any better, because that’s what they have been taught by those before them.
That said, if I see them getting too obnoxious about a newbie killing a champ out of turn, I usually end up teaming up with that newbie and disrupting the train further (sometimes even forming a second train in the process).
I am currently away from my GW2 computer, for family/health reasons, but if the megaservers and the rest of the patch somehow disrupts the train, then I am grateful… and yes, I admit I have joined the train when it is convenient to do so, like when it matches the dailies/monthlies.
Due to my absense, it seems I have also been spared of much of the toxicity I read about in the forums, but if that is the price to be paid for the introduction of the megaservers, I think I’d rather deal with the train, at least people in general are more civil that way.
there is no inherently evil race, group or profession, with few exceptions
one of those are the Krait, who are as close to pure evil as we can get in the game, another is the Centaurs, though in their case it’s a little more grey, as they are viewed largely from the perspective of humans and their allies
even the dragons are not really evil, just very inconvenient for the rest of us (though Zhaitan was really pushing it with its fetish to turn hot Norn chicks into Risen)
these weapons are fine, as are most weapons really…
well, except for one slight problem that affects almost every single weapon in the game
TOO BIG
seriously… it seems that most single handed weapons are at a 1.5 scale of what they would have been in rl
After reading all the complains about the Megaservers these last few days, i have to admit that as a European I am quite glad I chose NA back when I started playing the game. My less successful choice at the time, was that of a server, Kaineng is definitely not the place for a RP-er to be in, though I have yet to get any grief from non-RPers and most react rather well to acting in-character.
That said, if ANet offered free transfers to an official RP server, I’d jump ship faster than Logan runs home to Jenna. Alternatively, I’m all for a RP flag that will make the megaservers work as intended, so I can actually play the game with those wonderful people over at TC without having to worry about trolls.
there is no Abaddon, only zuul… erm, i mean Kormir the Ever-Liv… no, wait. just Kormir, former leader of the Sunspear, now host to whatever used to make Abaddon a god
why would that confuse new players Draknar? any continuation of the PS should happen/unlock after you beat Zhaitan
huh… can’t say i noticed those before. we do need more cultural outfits for all races (except for humans, they got everything)
Most likely going to be playing more.
Having all the “free” dyes unlocked helps a ton (went through 1000+ return dyes between me and the gf), as does getting all the PvP achievement rewards in the wardrobe.
The only bits I am skeptical on is how the changes will affect my chances at RP in GW2.
I actually like the new armours, at least the female versions of Rampart and Strider (saw my gf trying them on, haven’t checked yet myself). with the right colour scheme (daffodil and evergreen, i think) Rampart might as well be called “Loki armour” which is sort of awesome
that said, we do need the GW1 sets to make a triumphant return, especially now with the wardrobe in place
eh, good in theory, bad in practice
vehicles only make sense if we get a new activity somewhere in charr areas, where we can race their cool tanks
…but only there
not that it is not cool, cause it is, but i think the old login screen just falls under the “Cool but Impractical” trope
got them, accidentally deleted them… yay me :|
taps monitor
oh come on! it’s 21:38 already!
taps monitor some more
…i don’t get it. does it even make sense for autorun NOT to be a toggle?
as many have said., man-to-man on keg brawl is a viable tactic and pretty much works as intended. sure, it can get annoying if you’re stunned all the time but it is a norn sport, what did you expect?
as for the fishing pole in cab toss… some of my most amusing games were when i either had the pole or was regularly targeted by it. almost every instance when i targeted the same player with the pole multiple times in a row, was because of lag or misclick. the rest of the time was simply because they had the crab, which is what i was supposed to do anyway
meh… dailies reset based on GMT. patches should come out at the same time
no… the fact i would have the patch for 10 hours now is irrelevant
..yeah
that was all kinds of awesome… well played!
Way-points don’t fit the lore and make the world-size trivial. You might like them, I think they are used to much especially for when you would introduce mounts.
to say waypoints do not fit the lore is to say asura gates do not fit the lore. it’s absurd. if you want to argue for mounts, you’ll have to do better
…seriously guys… it’s not broken, why fix it?
grumble grumble… it’s already april 15 here! come on anet. i’m giving you 13 minutes to comply or…
…or i’ll just twiddle my thumbs and keep waiting :/
to be perfectly honest i mostly want this for iron ma… i mean, heavy armour on engineers
…yeah
yeah, recognition works. didn’t know it works in passive
i like the idea in theory, but i can’t even begin to think of the balance issues.
about the only real objection i can think of is how profession recognizability (is that even a word?)
that’s actually a really nice looking helmet. as others said, a lot more realistic than some of the others (named pirate bucket i’m looking at you)
sounds like a good idea, though it will be much better if dye colours can be used instead of one fixed colour
poor Tybalt indeed…
if the LS is supposed to be after the PS, i cannot fathom why on earth they decided to use the current map of LA for all the PS quests set it in… it makes no sense at all
no, i am just pointing out that he is using a flawed argument. if he wants to argue against mounts (and in my opinion mounts have no place at all in gw2) then he should do so without using a weak argument like “lore is against mounts” when every example of lore he gave can be taken as an argument -for- mounts
counterproductive a bit, don’t you think?
um… Nerelith, just to clarify. i’m arguing against mounts being counter to lore, at least based on what Dusty says, but i am also against mounts ever becoming a part of gw2 in general
yeah, still not seeing it. even if the centaurs DID attack the humans for that reason, nothing says there are no more horses in human lands, or that humans stopped using them.
…how exactly do you get “no horses” from what you just posted? i’m either missing something or i am not as smart as i thought i was. i’m getting the exact opposite
they did?? …kitten , i need to check pact weapons again
while i’m 100% against mounts for numerous reasons, claiming horses are lore-breaking is strange at best. as for why they are not in the game? well… i’ll misquote one of the writers of Dragon Age (David Gaider i think, but i’m probably wrong)
“writing a horse into a book set in the game’s world is a matter of putting a few words on paper. adding the same horse in the game is a lot more complicated and costly than that”
tell me about it. an anti-dragon elite force should gets it’s own armour. maybe they will when they (ANet OoC and the Pact IC) can dedicate the resources necessary for it. in the grand scheme of things, they have bigger fish to fry
on a slightly related note, i’m still trying to figure out the Pact’s exact colour scheme
had 100% but lately it turned to 99% and it has nothing to do with the changes in LA and/or marionette, bloody prince or any other relatively recent additions. my guess? they added a new spot but it isn’t accessible yet
every day. at the very least to do the dailies, more if i can afford the time
always fun seeing a tag around, whether it is wvwvw or pve. those devs i’ve bumped into did not expect any special treatment either
makes things a lot better if i know devs are actually enjoying the game they help make. means they’re not in their own little world and actually experience the same problems and perks as the rest of us
i’m guessing part (small?) of why they throw the tag up sometimes is just that morale boost for some of us
SteamOS really is just linux, it’s that simple. debian based as far as distros go, if memory serves. the steam client itself runs just fine on linux, even if not all games can (different beast, i know, but it shows a trend for valve).
as the percentage of steam-on-linux./steamos users grows, companies will start to rethink their attitude towards linux gaming
can’t say i’ve experienced any noticeable memory leaks, but i’ve recently saw that performance is a lot better when i tell wine to create a virtual desktop first instead of just running the game, even when i’m playing a full screen video on the second monitor
all that without the CSMT patches btw
more or less what the above posters said (i’d know, being greek and all)
the nymph’s name was most likely Daphne (which is the greek word for the plant) but i can’t say i actually remember off hand
additionally: “resting on your laurels” means growing complacent and (sometimes) abusing rewards and favour for past achievements
