- Hard mode
- Challenge mode
- Permanent death*

All for increased rewards and a shot at rare loot.

BAM! Fixed.

*permanent as in you die once in a dungeon, it throws you out (no invites after ofc)

and where is normal mode then?

Also, Star Wars technology is still more believable than Tequatl.

Lifting a space ship out of a swamp just by using “The Force” is more believable?
I don’t think so.

Its just another kind of magic.

it’s dark matter and that is most certainly not just a fantasy, we just call it differently.
also, he was talking about the technology, not the force.

Better rewards for harder dungeons.

so that’s acceptable but an easier dungeon isn’t…..

IMO armor stat should not be the reason why you want a higher tier, it should be the options.
all armor should be the same level, whether you have white armor or ascended, armor should be a flat rate.
however, the higher the tier the better quality you can use to upgrade it, so now you have a better reason to have higher tier.
-white: none
-blue: one minor
-green: one minor and one major and lower
-yellow: one major and lower and one superior and lower
-orange: two superior and lower
-purple: one superior and lower and one ascended and lower (this will then be added in HoT)

i already think there are way to many tiers of armor, it’s also way to WoW-ish and not so GW-ish.
my way does it the GW way, it gives no one the advantage on armor but tiers do matter in the way of improving your characters.

keep in mind, dragons could have the same bone difference as strong birds.
i see ppl comparing dragons with something like a horse or lizards, both are designed to walk and run on land and not to fly.
dragons are capable of flight, this could mean that their bones are lighter yet really powerful.

let’s look at materials of our word, steel and titanium.
steel is powerful and really common, however, it’s heavy the more you use it.
titanium is also quite powerful but allot lighter then steel, however, it’s quite a rare material.

now what if we take a horse and a dragon, the horse is the steel while the dragon is the titanium.
one is really heavy but is designed to stay on the ground, dragons are light but designed to take flight.

the only single thing that stops a dragon from flight is when the wings have non enough skin to catch enough air current, may it be ripped or to small wings.

one thing i would like to see is a less rewarding yet open world difficulty dungeons, i can’t stand dungeons because it punishes ppl to quite an extent and don’t care about new players.

pro’s:

  • path’s that have insta-kill enemies should have veteran enemies doing normal dmg.
  • elites should not even be as common.
  • the only highly difficult ones are elite bosses and a champion end boss.
  • they are not scaled from the get go but only scale depending on amount of players.

con’s:

  • enemies don’t drop anything higher then rare.
  • after you complete the dungeon you can get no more then 40 tokens per run.
  • 1 gold in the chest and no more

i would like to play in dungeons but i don’t like them to be HM-only, the whole reason why they are dying is because they are way to exclusive to even like.

hair gone when i put on helm

sorudo.9054

It’s the Anet way, delete things completely instead of solve the perceived problem they cause.

I’ve said it before but there is a buzzcut hairdo that wouldn’t clip that wouldn’t make our toons look like cue balls when we wear hats. Suspension of disbelief would be easier with that one, instead we get chrome domes of don’t use thisity.

That should be the default hairdo that we get when we wear hats. It won’t happen though because it’s not cash shoppable.

Name an MMO that doesn’t delete hair when your wearing a helmet. In fact name any game with character creation that doesn’t delete hair when your wearing a helmet.

It is just the reality of the system that you cannot make 1 million different models for every helmet/hat to make them make sense with every hairstyle.

hazard ops, guild wars (for the most part), SWToR.
the system to make it possible for long hair is absolutely possible, the problem is more how much time they want to use to alter all the hair styles to make it work. (which is none BTW)

3. He has both front legs and wings. That makes no sense. The wings of bats, birds and their ancestor flying “dinosaurs” are actually their evolved arms/hands. Look at the dragons in Skyrim, that’s what a reptilian would evolve to if it became a dragon instead of a bird. Here they have front legs AND wings, I mean wtf?

you really need a lesson in fantasy creatures, a dragon has 4 legs and wings on it’s back but a wyvern has 2 legs and wings as arms.
skyrim has them called dragons but they are still wyverns no matter how you look at it, there is even a modder who wants to correct this flaw.

learn your mythology before you complain about something you have no knowledge about.

It is incredibly easy to make money in gw2. Sneeze and you’ll profit. Just actually playing the game is literally all it takes.

if i am lucky enough to get something expensive enough i get about 2 gold a day at most, tell me how that’s incredibly easy.

in short, everything a ranger already has from launch but with more weapons of choice.

I like to think everything a ranger has failed to deliver since launch as a result of being shackled to a dumber-than-rocks pet .

Oh, and without the )&#@ing trench coat.

(What? You think the Druid won’t smear the line with Guardians?)

so now the guardian becomes the dumber-than-rocks pet…….well ok

a while ago i had the idea of removing 2 stats and linking them in a different way.

  • ferocity
  • cond damage

the reason is simple, ferocity makes crit damage even more powerful, this makes any other build quite useless.
and since power lacks…well…power, i think they should distribute the ferocity stat with precission and power.

with cond dmg, it has become a moot point in the game.
cond can’t do crits, they lack severely in damage and are only used for small reasons.
to buff cond builds i would say remove cond damage and base the damage on power, this will not only simplify the game through stats but it will make power the main stat for base damage.

i know cond’s are armor ignoring but they lack the dmg normal attacks don’t, it just makes no sense that dmg affected by armor is allot more powerful then dmg that is armor ignoring.

New Weapon: The bow – one of the greatest, most iconic hunting tools in the history of the human race

New Skill category: Traps – one of the most essential hunting tools in the history of the human race.

The Enemy: Elder Dragons – the ultimate peril of the world of Tyria. If we do not strive against them with our every breath, all will die.

New Profession: The Dragon Hunter – “I take the tools of the hunter and turn them against the foes that must be fought. For the good of all.”

The name wasn’t picked out of a hat… Its a graceful bit of shorthand both summing up and evoking many elements the profession encompasses.

in short, everything a ranger already has from launch but with more weapons of choice.

if “dragonhunter” is the name of a sub class of the guardian just because of a bow, what are you doing with a bow when there are no dragons?
in ESO they have the dragon knight, this makes sense because it uses the essence of a dragon to fight.
this however makes no sense at all, you’re not hunting dragons when you’re using your bow mostly against non-dragons.

it’s like calling someone “bonecrusher” when he uses a dagger, or “fleshweaver” to an elementalist……

Because you have a 100b at 1500 range while being able to move around and projectiles following targets, compare that to the actual 100b skill of gs which roots you in place and has a 130 range and is incredibly difficult to fully land it on a person, and you might understand why some weaps have a higher base stats than others.

i move around all the time with the GS…..what are you talking about with the “root in place” part?

Sorry,i meant the GS for warrior in this case when i made the comparison about 100b rooting you into place when using it.

nop, still the same, i still move around with my warrior (GS main).
the only one who is really rooted in place is the ranger but that’s it.

Outfits vs armor skin sets

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: sorudo.9054

sorudo.9054

one thing ppl constantly forget is the part that outfits don’t need to be used over an armor piece, beside the charge cost it’s the part where every time you change armor you don’t have to transmute the armor all over again.

it’s cost efficient, it never changes and you can swap at a moment notice.
sure it has flaws but then again, transmuting armors with charges has the opposite effect.
even while you can change every single piece of armor individually you still need to pay a charge and every time you have better armor you still need to change it back to that style, costing again a charge.

outfits are stationary and can’t be mixed, armor skins are mix-able but cost allot.
it’s on you want you think is more important, cost or mix match.

the only thing i think they do have to do is allow costume headgear and armor headgear viewable regardless of which one you use, if i want to use the ice crown (HoM headgear skin) with the new outfit it would really not be such a huge problem, if anything at all.

I do agree with most, Anet should really expand their workforce, this stagnant months of no content is proof that they are unable to retain old players. Also they could work with better communication, since they usually ask for feedback but rarely act on it.

Easier said than done. Workforce costs money. You can’t expect the same amount of content for free than you would find in a subscription-based MMO. Many people play GW2 because it’s BtP. HoT will probably fill Anet’s bank account, so we will have a lot of new content released for a while (just like in winter 2012), until the next expansion. Some games are just not designed for hardcore players.

yes you can.
Arenanet makes as much money as many subscription based games.

you are forgeting that f2p is actually one of the more profitable business models nowadays.

it’s B2P not F2P, a F2P is mostly made to make ppl spend money on power, B2P is made so you get a P2P quality game but have F2P benefits. (like no sub fee, in-game store with cosmetic gimmicks, etc…)

he had a precursor drop, plenty of 30+ gold worth weapons and even got plenty of good materials worth plenty.
me?
i never ever got a weapon worth more then 3 gold and that 3 gold only happened ONES, so also no precursor or anything that can boost my gold wallet.

i can certainly say that i have an account plagued with horrible drops, it’s so bad it’s not even funny.

I will never understand what people find useless about necromancer in PvE. Running power wells plays out excellently in all circumstances, including PvP and WvW. I’ve never had any of the issues most of you appear to be running into in the past two years, and generally tend to be fairly capable of doing better than most by simply playing intelligently.

that’s the meta for you, most think it’s useless so they assume it’s bad.
necro’s are far from useless, it’s just that only a select few know how to use them properly.

funny to see so much negativity about necro’s while they outshine in survivability and control, i think it’s more because ppl expect a necro to do insta-kill instead of overall victory.
they are not made for zergs no, they are made to survive even the worst case scenario where others die allot faster in.
no support, what are you doing then?
i support all the time and win battles whether without one they lose big time.

the one thing ppl keep on forgetting is that the core profession will be improved after the update hits which will be before HoT, this means that they are already trying to get every class (including the necro) to the same level so every class has an equal use.

let’s first wait till they announce the necro, then you can judge.

the portal for beta

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: sorudo.9054

sorudo.9054

the problem here is that this is a completely unfair way to reward players, in the edn only the most dedicated (what i often call addicted) players can have even a small shot on getting a portal stone.

Except that RNG doesn’t work that way. There’s no guarantee that a super dedicated person playing 12 hours a day for a week will get the portal. For others, killing mobs for half an hour nets them their reward. I wouldn’t call 30 minutes much of a dedication or an addiction. Yeah, the overall drop rate is low, but time spent doesn’t necessarily mean reward. If it did, then everyone putting in a certain amount of time would mostly be getting their portals, but that’s not happening.

that’s because they put a damper on the drop rate, have you ever had someone who barely has any MF at all have a portal drop?
