just one tip, try and build your own build before jumping to PvX.
PvX is more made for ppl who don’t know how to build properly, try it your self first so you can learn what each profession can do.

This thread… “ruining wells” when they just buffed it, cuz untargetable wells were 100% useless, gg. Peoples are really complaining for nothing, wow.

yeah, because just imagine ppl playing things different then you do, just imagine ppl having different preference then you do, the world would explode….

seriously, i play how i play and if this change ruins it for me don’t undermine it just because it’s fine for you.
i want it as click cast, not click point click cast.

If you double click on the skill, it still casts at your feet,

if you have it as hotkey, you can simply set the option to have it cast on key release, meaning it you just have to release the key while you quickly hover over yourself.

its honestly not hard to adapt to, and its alot better than having to be forced into a trait to be able to ground target, since alot of people prefer that way anyways

double tap only casts it where the cursor is, , when i am busy casting marks i seriously have no time also thinking of well placements, with daggers i don’t even want to bother with target casting.
also, just because “allot of players prefer it that way anyways” doesn’t mean it should be changed, with that logic they can just as much change whole classes and remove a whole bunch of skills because allot of players don’t use them anyways.

at first we had the chance to choose if the wells are place-able from range or under your feet, now it’s a forced placement from range.
i really hate it when things get forced after 3 years of playing differently, it seems like they love to make things more complicated and annoying then ever before.

i had the click->cast setup for a reason, it’s so i can focus more on the battle then occupying my mouse with a placement well.
sure i use marks but at least i can focus on marks, wells should never be forced as placements.

ether have it as a choice/trait or completely remove it, this pretty much ruins my character, a character i had fun with for so long.

ask your self this, how much did EotN cost?
now don’t argue about content because EotN would still win over that, look more on what the cost is.
as far as i can remember it was in no way as expensive as HoT is right now, if HoT would be priced fair then the arguments of pricing would go away slowly.

mistakes can happen, Anet can make mistakes too, but they should keep it fair just like 7.5 years ago.

you know what really is the problem, they sell you the expansion with the core game but anyone who already has the core game is paying 2X for the same thing.
what they need to do is make a different price for ppl who already have the game, looking at the game price and then how much it costs with the expansion it’s about €10,- tops.
now let’s give Anet some money to play with, make the expansion price €30,- but with the condition that you need to own the core game for it to work.

i don’t see how it’s fair to pay a price that high when the conditions behind it are completely useless to GW2 owners, at least have 2 packages that are fair to GW2 owners so we don’t have to pay as much as non-GW2 owners.
in a way we already payed way more then non-GW2 owners, show the appreciation by lowering the price for GW2 owners.

so in conclusion, because ppl don’t want to help dead players because they are afrait the event fails, there is no need to rez at all.
then ask your self this, why does the mechanism exist at all?
i mean, if no one is gonna rez anyway it’s a waste of dev time to even have it in the game in the first place.

i am not as selfish, i rez.
i don’t care if the event fails, as long as others can enjoy playing the game it’s worth it.
seriously, ppl care way to much about reward but don’t care one single bit about other players.
and don’t come and say you do, you would never ignore a dead player if you do.
it’s not a matter of “how much time does it take to walk back”, it’s a matter of helping a fellow player.

better yet, i had times when ignoring rez became a failed event, ones i started ressing players it was a cake walk.

What?

So by your logic I should ressurect a dead player possibly making the event fail which in turn means him, me and possibly 50+ other players do not get the event rewards.

Opposed to having him waypoint after being already taged to the event, the rest of the players finish the event and every one gets loot and is happy including the player who waypointed out.

Somehow I doubt your definition of fun will ring true with a majority of the player base. Who is the selfish one now? Try again.

lol, you have no idea how many times i dies and never got the reward even while i did 95% of the event alone, try again.

Considering it takes no more than 4-5 auto attacks to tag an event, I’d say you are the problem, not the system.

Strict l2p issue here.

nope, not at all.
if i do 95% of the event alone, including champ kills, and die just at the end of the event tagging isn’t gonna help.
you’ll be way to far away from the event to even tag one single enemy, it’s exactly my point.

i do the event mostly alone, die just at the end and get nothing, random joe comes along just at the end and get’s 100% of the reward.
tell me if that’s fair or not…..

The Norn are watered down

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

sorudo.9054

when i played EotN for the first time i saw the norn as strong fighters, honerable and tough to get trough.
a race that can take down a horde on their own and boast about there victories with a paint of ale, a race that doesn’t chase after some rumor but after making them self legends.

in GW2 they are kitten, so toned down and way to friendly.
they rather boast about past victories then chase after new ones, they make a fool of them selves.

they were considered dangerous to other races, now they are hiding behind walls with machinery.
of all the races in fact, the only non-human influenced race is the asura.
even the charr, a race of strong warriors bread in war are changed in half humans, at least the asura are still the same as the GW1 equivalent.

my reason to add dueling

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

sorudo.9054

since i am anti-duel in every way, let me show you the points made with a backslash answer.

1. It’s fun

in your eyes, not mine

2. 1v1 can be interesting to do

far away out of my sight, yes it could.

3. testing things would be easier with more control

no need to test your build in PvE, that’s not a place for that, WvW is.

4. teaching my friend how to dodge/time things would be easier then finding an empty or private arena.

sorry but that’s just silly, you started out just like them and learned how, no need to spoon feed them and see them ending up failing in the long run. (life XP is stronger then book knowledge )

5. Those that don’t want to don’t have too, just have an auto decline option.

something that has failed over and over again.

The list continues but I think that’s enough for now

indeed it does, i can name countless reasons why it’s a bad idea.
at least, a bad idea in open PvE zones, there is no problem when they are in arena’s.

they could make arena’s around the world, not just for duels but also for FFA and TDM competitions.
ppl could see them going on, like mentioned before they could even bet for or against players having a way to sink and earn gold.

Battle music and custom playlists

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

they should’ve put some more time in this system, a lame playlist file doesn’t work as good as you think it is.
first they should make a better way to add music, a more user friendly way.
secondly, there should be allot more categories on adding music.

i don’t want the same music in queensdale that i planned for orr and vise verse, at least be able to add music per region. (like kryta, maguuma jungle, ascalon)

have a map of each category and be able to simply drag the audio file in the map, that way you don’t have to struggle making a playlist and it saves so much time.

Well the hair kit is also a gem store item, in that it rarely drops out of Black Lion Chests for which the easiest source of keys is spending gems. It can’t be guaranteed to drop, and it costs thousands of gold on the TP when the most I’ve ever had at a time was over 400 gold. So nope, I don’t see any “of course” about it

let’s make one thing clear, the OP never asked YOU to change your charr, he only asks for more options to create a charr.
just because you like the charr the way it is doesn’t mean it’s your right to deny more options, you just stay with the charr the way it is, others don’t have to be forced in to that.

i like to see a straight up charr, i also like to choose a different running animation.
running on all fours just looks way to cute and that’s the last thing i want to see in a brute charr warrior.
for my warrior it’s not a problem to have the current stand, however, that’s also the exact reason why i can’t stand making a charr for anything other then warrior.

the harder you make a boss, the less other then X build is desired.
it’s not about making things harder, easier would really not be a bad idea, it’s about making players use more then one kind of build.

what if there is a boss that has a high defense rating but get’s weaker the more cond’s you apply, or one that tests your own toughness, extreme damage attacks but with a weakness of X damage type.

i could think of a zerk based on the same build as berzerger but in NPC’s, this would put (in theory) place the berserker on an equal level but other builds made to survive could take them out more efficient.
now it’s not about speed, it’s about survival.

that’s the problem with dungeons, you need way to much knowledge of dungeons to even have a chance but at the same time, ones you know the dungeons it’s a walk in a park.
lower the learning curve or at least remove parts that are plain unfair, then make enemies more specific and you’ll see players survive less when they try and rush them but finish them ones they simply play dungeons the way they were meant to be played.

Gem use

One of the nice things in this game is there’s nothing you actually need to buy from the gem store.

I don’t really agree with this. You definitely have to buy bank tabs from the gem store. I have invited several friends to the game and with all the crap that ArenaNet pushes onto players from the personal story, living story, and in general, you can barely make it through the first month with the extremey limited single bank tab.

Some people do get around this by making their own guilds for the guild vault. But it is limited to storing tradeable items only. And alts used as mules use up a character slot and cannot be used to store any soulbound items either.

Personal inventories are also extremely limited, even if you use a full set of 20 slot bags it is unlikely that you will be able to carry more than one set of gear on a character without buying an additional character bag slot, unless you like having only a single loot bag and having to salvage every few steps in lv80 maps.

i have 2 bank tabs and after almost 3 years i never saw the need to buy another, you’re just keeping to much useless crap.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: sorudo.9054

sorudo.9054

Whenever you move while under the effects of swiftness you slowly degenerate endurance and whenever you use mobility skills you lose a little bit of endurance.

To further build upon this most original of ideas, I suggest to reintroduce the “exhaustion system” (overcast) GW1 has:

The use of mobility skills also temporarily lowers your maximum amount of endurance. You will see a grey bar appear at the end of your endurance bar, which cannot be refilled until you have completely recovered from the effect. Think of this as being exhausted from all the running around.

To encourage different gear stats, “defensive” gear will faster build exhaustion (try running around with all those thick armor plates), but offer a bigger amount of total endurance. DPS-gear on the other hand will build less exhaustion, but come with less total endurance (the berserkers just don’t work out as much as the tanks do).

actually not so bad, faster speed in return of less dodging.
i do have to say something about the defensive part, they actually need something like a defensive bonus when standing still so actual tanks can shrug off allot of dmg before hitting any critical levels.
maybe something like, when they stand still they use endurance to stop X% of damage.
so anyone with toughness on their armor has this bonus, movement is limited but defense is way higher then any berserker can ever have.

I hate when MMORPGs mess with old content to keep it up with the current story. It messes with the old story. Like going through the personal story on a new character and Lion’s Arch is wrecked before Scarlet ever showed up. It’s stupid and inconsistent. Just leave it alone and make new content. Leave old content alone.

BOR-ING!

It is supposed to be a living story.

a living story only works when a new character is not affected by later events, currently a new character is ahead of time yet does things in the past…..

And this is why you voted for Kiel, instead of a hero like Evon. Evon cared about the citizens of LA, and risked his life by standing up to his superior, Legionnaire Aria Gnashfang, to prevent a slaughter.

Then why didn’t he stay and help defend LA? Instead he just ran through the portal with his tail between his legs and stayed at the Vigil keep.
