Black Desert looks like it is a free to play Korean game, which means it will most likely be just another Korean grinding game. So have fun with that.

dont be naive and jump to conclusions without research. it wont be free to play but still looks very promising. they making same promisses as anet did to us. paying once, no endless grinding and a thoughtfull storyline. if it will give 3 years of fun for 50 dollars itll be a good deal again. 50 dollars for a couple hours grinding on a new map with masteries, kiting, one raid and a new class etc (wich u cant even enjoy on the old maps) seems a poor deal. easy to judge a new game tho, id rather test it out since its same price as some small expansions are.

Every indication I am seeing is that it is a free to play game. Also it is Korean. Haven’t seen a Korean MMO not be a grinding bore fest as of yet, so this will be a shocker if it is any different.

BD has grind, GW2 has that too, the difference is that DB has plenty to fill the gap, in GW2 you’re searching for something to do in order to not get bored.

oh i hope so much that ppl keep the illusion of “this is top tier”, that way exotic tier because that way i can finally gear up my lvl 80 characters without losing all my gold.

playing S2LS without HoT is like reading lord of the rings the two towers without reading the fellowship of the ring (altough, LOTR has a story with tons and tons more lore and depth then Anet can ever make), i do think that if they are so generous then they should include this in HoT.
if anything, add this in their deluxe pack, it’s expensive enough so adding S2 with it to at least let new players know the whole deal around why HoT exists.

lol, i have absolutely no ascended gear except for laurel gear, never ever had anything dropped worth a gold, never ever had anything good from the MF(only even less worth crap) and to top it all of, at most i had 30 gold at one time.

They want those who bought HoT in the beta to test all all the changes to previous and new elite specializations. They want to test out the new critter AI and how it scales. They want to show players how interesting just one portion of one map is like.

And … if you don’t own HoT, that at least informs you why the maps aren’t as full as they normally are on a Friday night.

with a message that is pushed in your face till you’re sick of it makes it more a “i pester you till you do it” thing, ppl who don’t own HoT don’t care anyhow so why should they get pestered with it……..they are only more likely to leave till they quit doing that.

well, if the defiant becomes more powerful then any other prof then it’s essentially P2W, you pay money to play a prof that has a higher advantage.
also, if HoT gives you stuff you can’t get in the core game which gives you an advantage over core-only owners then it would, no matter how you spin it around, make it P2W.

in GW1 we had in one year more new armors in-game then we have gem store armor skins in GW2, in my eyes they have become extremely lazy.

In GW1, you had only humans to play as which is much different than what we have in GW2. More work is required to create GW2 armor than GW1 armor.

nope, the same work is required, the model in GW2 can be used for GW1 just as easy, only the skin is made specifically for ether.
also, most models are made for humans and adjusted for other races, the only “extra” work is for the charr and even with that it’s half the work then normal. (only one model made)

i think it’s a bug, somehow outfits don’t remember dye’s properly.

a friend of mine made a trail account a while ago with free weekend events, he wants to get his account back but lost his pass.
however, when he asks to reset his pass he is asked for the serial key, something he doesn’t know. (and the one i gave is lost)
he then wants to make a new account and again is asked for a serial key, something he doesn’t have.

so now what, how can he get his account back?

i would rather have an outfit token, really don’t like it and rather have the long robe.

for one they should rename it to blunderbuss, then they can always add the rifle again but this time the right way.

Well, there are limits to how much they can do with a rifle. I mean, realistically, rifles should be like 5000 range weapons, Longbows too, but that would be OP. Rifles in GW2 are just slightly longer range and less flexible pistols.

well sure, but they could at least make the skills reflect the weapons, both profs who can use them don’t use them as any more then a blunderbuss.

In both cases the first customers enjoyed the phone or the game ahead, that is something new customers won’t have anymore. In the case of the game you experienced season 1 and 2 in live for free which will not happen for new customers. You paid for being here when it was trendy.

it’s as if you pay €50,- for a team that loses every single time, i am a loyal player but i know when to stop paying and to start showing concern.

in GW1 we have exclusive crafters, they are the kind of crafters with unique skins.
like the 15K armor, you can only get it from that specific crafter and they are relatively expensive.

now i was thinking, the only thing simular are dungeon armors but you have to do a dungeon instead of letting the crafter craft it’s work.
so what if we have a crafter in the world that can craft exclusive armor in exchange of the correct mats+gold, it doesn’t have to be worldly expensive but the crafter could be quite a long way out of the normal play areas. (like deep in orr or somewhere most players just don’t go to).

why not as a recipe you might ask, these skins can only be crafted by this specific crafter because of tradition, they don’t share their technique to anyone else but their own family.

i personally think skins are ether gained way to easy or way to hard, there is no middle road where you can just take mats and go to a crafter.

ANet tried selling weapon skins directly from the gem store with the first set of weapons. The second set was by RNG. Every set after that was by RNG. This tells you that they got more money by selling a chance at a ticket and not by direct sales. Since people like chance better, then the scraps and ticket will remain by chance and not from every chest. The individual person might say they don’t like it but ANet has proven to its satisfaction that the group does, and that chance is where the money is.

ANet is a business and like every business they go where the money is. If the money is in RNG grab bag boxes, well, then RNG grab bag boxes is what they will have. If you have a business and you offer straight purchases and RNG purchases and people pay more for the RNG, then let’s see you refuse the money for RNG and offer the straight up purchase only. People will be saying that you’re taking advantage if you offer the RNG but you’re only offering what people actually want to buy, like any smart business.

in short: taking advantage of fools who can’t think further then desire.

i see hearts as a waste of time, quests are far better in every aspect.
you can have more quests in one place, it keeps you entertained and you have a way to expand the story for every area of the map.
hearts just are there, you finish them and the whole area becomes useless, depending solely on DE’s.

i wish they added quests, doesn’t have to be the boring “kill 5 rabbits” kind but quests nonetheless.
