Well, I think you’ve proved my point satisfactorily now. Have fun whining.
Its a never ending show.
Dont lie. My back aches from carrying you!
If your going to use an AH build in pve atleast go 0/0/30/30/10. Going only 5 in virtues and radiance is such a waste. You really should have master of consecrations available as its very useful in pve.
Still AH is for unskilled or new players.
Someone seems angry.
Nope but its basicly a feeble ice bolt (might be a mini frostfang). If they reskinned the regular lifeblast to be icey then I would get it. But they completely removed the shadowy effect and the projectile is much smaller and unimpressive. Its horrible.
Terrible. The frostfang animation for lifeblast put me off getting it. Got howler instead and getting kraitkin next.
This is the dungeon sub forum. Devs dont come here anymore. The fact that spiders and archers being prespawned in TA and arah hasnt been fixed yet is proof that they dont care about dungeon bugs and exploits. Its been months.

and from my perspective I am the worst sort of forum poster on internet gaming forums.
Because we can fix it…..
Ah thanks. Read that earlier and must of missed it. Oh well bit excessive nerfing but atleast we have 2 worlds and trib mode now. Trib mode might be profitable once you get good at it.
Link me where it says that. Ive only seen end of zone chests are account bound.
Dagger warhorn is our best weapon set in PvE…..
The vuln is probably additive. I just wanted to ask just incase someone knows for sure. Its probably safe to assume 25 vuln = 25% dmg modifier though.
You can still farm for baubles. You just wont be able to get the bonus chests more than once a day. That means you can still dig up those nice secret baubles and do the bonus level at the end of zone 1. Plenty of ways to get baubles, just a slightly reduced rate and less oppotunities for skin drops. Its a good decision, skin drops will be rarer and worth more.
You could actually earn baubles faster by starting in zone2 and digging up the 40 baubles and repeating. Just meant there was no chance of skins by doing that.
Standard beserker build. Just take a guardian to mow the blossoms and cleanse conditions.
Its multiplicative. So for 10% + 25 vuln it would be 1.10*1.25 =1.375 which is 37.5% like you said.
Edit: Question i would like to know. Does 25 vuln count as 25% or 28% (1.01^25 = 1.2824)?

Id laugh my face off seeing a male charr in a mini skirt, pig tails and a tied up shirt.
The Crossing can still be crafted, even if you didn’t participate in the Halloween event, by the way.
I am working on mine, as it is cheaper than buying it off TP.
However I was able to snatch 20 of the Sigils of Night for a fair price, when the staff was still going under 100g.
I have bigger problem to find CoE groups for my tanky necro, might as well make the money for it too…Having done the math, I’m pretty sure it’s cheaper just to buy it off the TP. :/
It costs 110g to make. Highest buy order is 135g, lowest sell price is 190g. I made mine when it cost about 140g on TP and it was quite a kitteneaper to make due to sigil of night and therefore candy corn being cheaper.
The general rule is if you know what you are doing you are an elitist.

All of these can translate very easily to group unique buffs in gw2. Percentage damage increase, boon stripping/vuln on hit/crit and life steal on hit for 5 allies within range of the necro.

:<
They should give necros Orders. So kind of like ranger spirit buffs but they emanate from the necro. Group vuln stacking on hit, life steal, damage increase. All sorts of stuff they could do to make necro’s a better pick in dungeons.

All depends on your build and the situation. Theres no clear answer. Just think about whether its a dps loss to cast an ability and if the advantage outweighs the loss of dps.
Im not sure the cast time on dark path is worth the 3 bleeds so I would only use that to gap close or to control with chill. I run a power build so every skill in DS is a dps loss compared to dagger but I will use #4 and #5 for large trash groups. And #2 for gap closing and doom for removing defiant or positioning mobs into walls.
I want necro’s to get passive unique buffs when they introduce new skills. ;p
I don’t play WvW so I can’t comment on that. I can tell you that 0/5/30/30/5 is bad. Like, you could actively be trying to make the worst possible build and it’d still be better than that.
As your comment above illustrates, if you do not play WvW and know the common Guardian setups in WvW, then simply do not comment, you think. A 0/5/30/30/5 is not bad and is quite doable and effective in a WvW environment. I have no doubt that you would proclaim a 0/0/30/30/10 build garbage too, huh? Yeah, stick with what you know – PvE – cause you are simply clueless about WvW.
I think you’re misunderstanding what he was saying. He was saying that build is bad for pve. He cant claim to know if its good in wvw, which he clearly stated in his first sentence. You should probably read before you post. The op asked for pve and wvw builds and guang was simply saying that that build is terrible for pve. Which is true.

Omg i have to see jade moas now. Cant believe i never thought of that.
Warrior or guardian probably. Only if you are a competent guardian though.
(edited by spoj.9672)
By that i assume you mean the amount of times it ticks. Because retal damage is based on power and we all know we cant have infinite power.
Everyone I know that got an SSD saw a massive improvement on load times. Wont help with framerate though.
I call mine praystyle. I stack critdmg with no critchance and pray for good rng.
I like it! Gives me an idea for my Necro… I’ll just take the 20 or 30 points I’d put into Curses and make a minigame out of leaving them unallocated as long as I possibly can so that the bad RNG always leads back to temptation. I’ll call the PreCursor build.
The funny thing is thats how most necro’s build their power builds.
I don’t play WvW so I can’t comment on that. I can tell you that 0/5/30/30/5 is bad. Like, you could actively be trying to make the worst possible build and it’d still be better than that.
Also, you can’t have max DPS output and still make survivability tradeoffs. That’s technically impossible, if you are speccing for survivability you’re losing DPS. You can, however, come pretty close to a high-survivability, high DPS spec with something like 10/30/20/10/0 sword/shield.
If you are taking part in T1 WvW, you are likely part of a mele train and the 30/30 build is pretty good for that situation.
Is it the best 1v1 build. No. But it might be one of the best in that sort of situation where you have lots of people to proc AH off of.
Now I know some people run other builds in the same situation, Synergy Builds – Boon Builds etc, and a good guild will tell you what they want you to run, but if you are trying to take part in T1 pvp and don’t know what to run you could do a lot worse than the 30/30 AH build.
If I am running by myself or in a small group I generally use a different build.
He was talking about pve.
Not really. The mesmer should be across before the boulders start falling.
Fiery Rush is fine how it is. Using examples of the extremes in the most ideal situations is hardly a compelling argument to claim a skill is too overpowered to be allowed. not to mention in the actual time it takes for this damage to be applied, burst builds can probably achieve their own 6 digit numbers.
Even if this skill was used in PvP to any kind of effect beyond MAYBE the occasional lone golem kill on a gate, the ease of it to be avoided is laughable considering all the damage is on a spot the size of one person.
That said, it IS an elite skill after all. From my understanding these skills are supposed to be an ace card only available to you for a short time. God forbid Ele’s actually have something they can contribute that’s well respected in this area.
I dont know of any skill which bursts as high as fiery rush.
Yea i miss that trait aswell. Dont think id get much use out of it anymore though. I rarely get knocked that low on hp in dungeons.
Naked necro build obviously.
Trying to melee lupi with someone who cant dodge grubs is the most irritating and difficult thing ever. “Oh look double grubs at phase switch”…. “Thanks for 3 bubbles in a row”….
(edited by spoj.9672)
Yea since they turned culling off im in even more need of an ssd. Lions arch takes an age to load now, it was long enough before with my 4 year old pc.
Warhorn is our best weapon.
Theres nothing selfish about building full dps. Burning mobs down fast before they can do damage is more supportive than giving people a mediocre heal that keeps them alive for a few more hits before they die due to an inability to dodge.
But then I wouldnt run a condi build in pve because its just not good enough with either trait distribution.
who wants to take a necro into arah anymore?
Who wants to go to arah anymore?
Arah is fun.
Indeed.
I know its hard to grasp but some people really dont use logic.
If you assumed you were going to get compensation for the MF then well that was pretty silly.
Assume makes an kitten out of u and me.
Skipping is a valid tactic. Anet themselves have confirmed that in some places skipping is the intended tactic.
I concur.
Its very good for all builds. Just learn to use it properly for your build…. Healing in ds is a change most of us have wanted for a while and we may get it eventually. And i already mentioned DS traits could be changed/improved so that includes traits like deathly invigoration. None of those problems you mentioned warrant a complete redesign of DS, they just require some minor tweaks/fixes to traits and mechanics.
Its always fun hopping into wvw and recieving maximum lootbags for minimal effort in full beserker while staying alive for longer than pretty much everyone else.
Give 10/0/30/30/0 a try in soldiers gear, D/F (Force/Battle) + Staff (Battle) 4/6 Hoelbrak, 2/6 Strength then get back to me on my bad build. It works wonders for soloing camps in WvW and general PvE/dungeons.
I dont need the crutch of defensive gear in pve but thanks. Ive solo’d wvw camps with my beserker build. Not that I do much WvW.
Well obviously DS cant work perfectly for every bad build. But even in those builds it will find its use in certain situations. Burst aoe, control, gap closer or escape. Plenty of amazing stuff you can do with DS regardless of build. DS doesnt need any more changes except maybe DS trait changes.
Necro’s need something special because at the moment being able to apply loads of different control conditions isnt enough to make it a decent class in pve. Give us a way to be an actual full on must pick for select situations to go much smoother and necro instantly becomes viable for speedclearing and optimized groups. Unique buffs like ranger spirits are probably the best way to do this outside of completely redesigning pve and making control conditions more useful. A cleave weapon could also help with this but it will only help with making necro’s more acceptable, they wont be picked over other classes with just better trash clearing.
I mention optimized groups because casual groups dont have any requirements and arent a good way to judge if a class is balanced. Its like saying necro is fine in pvp because necros are really popular/strong in hotjoin even though they are never taken by top teams (not the case anymore but you get the point). When balancing for pve the devs should take a look at optimized groups to judge what is needed. That doesnt mean excluding supporty buffs, they just need to be buffs which can be beneficial to dps groups and casual groups.

Making DS change based on weapon is stepping on warriors class mechanic. Having multiple DS’s is stepping on eles class mechanic. Both are unrealistic and would be op.
