The pillar strategy for CR in AC P3 is intended? I… never knew that. I had the assumption that the boss attack should hit all of the areas, save for the ones where the NPC casts a bubble upon.

People who use that exploit are just bad. Takes more time to pull than it does to run up to him and kill.
I think we all can agree waypoints should probably be improved on in dungeons. But trial and error isnt bad design. Its only bad if you have the mentality of not wanting to learn from your mistakes, not wanting to improve and giving up. The repair costs and distant waypoints do make it somewhat frustrating for new players but those act as incentives to try harder and prepare more about the next attempt. Rather than running in repeatedly with cheap lives with no real thought on how to overcome the encounter.
Hes asking what classes you and your friends were using. If we know then we might be able to suggest extra utilities/tips that you didnt think of using.

What do you guys think of 30/15/0/0/25 with beserker gear? Is that the highest dps possible? Not worried about survivability at all, just want to maximise dps.

The only class ive found sigil of strength to be useful on is warhorn necro. Other classes it barely gains enough stacks to warrant taking it (1 second internal cooldown).

Or just kill all the oozes and skelks outside. They take like 2 seconds.

Become the master doesnt work if you use a continue coin. So make sure you have plenty of lives before you start zone 2.
I got an endless continue coin and it was no problem to get the achievement while using it.
The Bachelor of Baubles was fine two days ago. If it’s bugged now, it’s because of the patch.
I attempted the achievement 3 times and it never gave it to me when i had to use my infinite continue coin, the 4th attempt worked. On the successful attempt i suicided and used my excess coins to get 50 lives. I then reentered zone 2 and went for the achieve again. It worked fine on that attempt. I may have missed an assassin on the first attempt. But the others i definately got them all, unless one somehow vanished and so i never got to fight him. It was either a bug and a massive coincidence that it only worked when I didnt use a continue coin or it was the coins which caused the problem.

A burning guardian isnt viable in any part of the game except trollwars 2. You arent qualified to give any advice.

DPS groups use support. They just dont waste stats or excessive amounts of trait points on it.
Is it weird that everytime you post I read “Good day everyone” in my head with your voice.
Why are people saying torch is fitting. Its not. In lore necro has always been about death and ice. Burning was something they added which didnt really fit the flavour of the class. Now that we have it everyone thinks its ok to have a torch. Even if the torch doesnt have burn on it I still dont think it fits. It can be made to fit but thats the same for every weapon.
Engineer isnt highest. Engi just has pretty good self buffing so they have good dmg solo.
Or just use fire fields and blast finishers and then all 5 members of the group can dps with 25 stacks of long duration might.

You get focused more with a bit of toughness. Just learn the encounters and dont waste dodges, aegis, blinds. When switching to a dps guard take pure of voice so you have a bit more hp while you are practising with beserker gear (0/30/0/30/10). Pure of voice gives you very good team condi cleanse so its a decent trait to have. When you have more experience you can switch to 10/30/0/5/25.
Was it changed because of the farming months back? If so they should deffo revert that change.
Theres no point argueing with someone with guard burn builds in his sig. Thats like a self own and automatic loss of any arguement.
We do bring good power dps in pve when built properly. Its the lack of useful other utility that makes necros at the bottom for pve. Why take a dps role which stacks vuln worse than an engi and doesnt help buff the team. If you take a necro just for dps you may aswell take a thief instead seeing as they have much greater dps and spammable blast finishers. Only thing necro has going for it is good single target dps in a power spec and control conditions. But of the control conditions only blind is really wanted in dungeons and other classes like thieves can get better access to it while doing more for the group.
In PvE necros are at the bottom of the list for providing useful utility. In PvP and WvW they are very strong atm.
Dont need life steal on a cleave weapon. Taking blood magic life steal traits would be enough. Cleave, so every hit will give 3 ticks of lifesteal.
Pretty sure it does work. Definately worked a few months back when i tried it.

All wells are dark fields. Except Well of Blood. So you can chain blind fields if your not worried about might stacking. Obviously not the best solution but for some trash mobs blind might be a bit more useful than some might.
Well of darkness pulses blinds and is a dark field. Have Plague for 20 seconds of blind. And offhand dagger for a bouncing blind with condi transfer. Also have good access to weakness which does actually help a surprising amount especially when stacked with protection. Can also trait to chill on blind. Which reduces the frequency of attacks (More supportive damage mitigation). Unfortunately theres no situations where you really need every form of damage reduction possible. I do think weakness is good for dredge though and laurent in TAFF.

Malefacterym is a popular dagger for necros. I couldnt decide on a dagger I liked with a bone theme so i ended up switching to a corrupted dagger. Nice skin and the frosty effect suits necros pretty well.

If you want some horrifying weapons.
Zhaitans Reach, Adam, Malefacterym, Jaws of Death/Maw of the kitten ed, The Crossing and Deathwish. All pretty necroey. Godskull weapons are pretty decent bonelike skins, very cheap aswell.

Rotation is different because your going into DS and im flashing it for weakening shroud proc which does damage. I also have traited locust swarm. You also failed to include that you cant stay DS 24/7…. The wiki doesnt have all bugs, i know a few poeple on these forums have said its bugged. I tested it and it did some weird things to my power so im inclined to believe its not a modifier like it says. And ill repeat, single target damage is the most important part of your build. Necros have poor cleave aoe abilities anyway in dungeons and most of dungeons are boss fights. 30/10/0/0/30 is not optimal.
Blood now factor in rotations, skill coefficients and the fact that you wont be in DS all the time. I wasnt argueing that DS dps is higher in your build. I was saying the potential damage my lifeblasts do is higher. Effective power isnt valid because it ignores coefficients and modifiers. When doing a proper dps calculation with rotations and everything 30/10/0/0/30 is pretty awful for damage. And like ive said before, in reality you wont be able to stay in DS for long enough in dungeons and then your dps will fall off because you are doing subpar damage with the dagger on your build.
When i use to use 30/10/0/0/30 the crit rate was terrible and its really not worth sacrificing that much crit chance for 15% extra crit damage. Also signet of spite passive doesnt apply inside DS. My build can maintain atleast 3 conditions permanently on my own and 4 conditions with very good uptime. Group will most likely be adding burn to that so 4 conditions full time is so much better than strength of undeath. Also dont know for sure but i believe strength of undeath is bugged and only increases power in increments at different lifeforce levels (so its not even a proper modifier and not as good).
Its viable for casual dungeon running because every terrible build is viable in this game. But if you want to be efficient in dungeons 30/10/0/0/30 is a trash build. You arent going to be using DS to dps bosses so dunno why you are focusing on having good damage with DS, its like maximising your build for 1% of a dungeon, completely stupid and pointless.

How does that combine ele? That has nothing to do with aspects. I can see it combining warrior and necro though. But if every other class gains a new weapon and we gained new DS skills that would be fair right?
Also, gaining a new weapon IS gaining new skills. That’s all a weapon is, IS 5 new skills. I suggested 6 new skills. So that’s pretty much in line from a development point of view with receiving a new weapon.
Having new DS skills for different weapons is like having attunements. Eles are balanced by only having 1 weapon set. Necros have 2 so they can basically have 2 attunements. And the fact that mainhand controls what those skills are means its like warrior burst skills.
Anyway the thread is about predefined weapons not new skills in general. Were discussing the new weapon people want, not necessarily the skills used on them. Obviously a new weapon will give new skills. Theres plenty of other threads which got turned into completely ridiculous fantasy suggestions in this sub forum. Please refrain from doing the same thing to this one.
Now here is my idea:
Instead of Death Shroud giving a set 5 skills no matter what. Let the Death shroud have a few different skills based on main hand weapon. Leave 3,4,5 alone, but lets say..
Staff 1 is now a melee attack with a swirling 360 degree attack at the end that gains life force for each enemy hit. Staff 2 now sends out ethereal chains that bind the enemy and can be yanked, like the Guard GS skill.
Axe 1 sends out a swarm of locust similar to dagger 4, it bounces between 3 enemies and causes blindness. It doesn’t transfer conditions but it does do more damage. Axe 2 is a high powered spinal shiver that does 2x the damage.
Dagger 1 does lifeblast, Dagger 2 is Death claws. So the old skills/playstyle isn’t lost.
Scepter 1 Does a low power life blast that transfers 1 condition and causes bleeding. Scepter 2 is a reverse blink, that does a aoe bleed and chill around the caster. Like a reverse death claw.
This thread is about new existing weapons not new skills. Besides I already explained why they would never revamp DS like that in another thread. Its basically combining Necro, ele and warrior class mechanics together. Totally op and unfair.
Please stay on topic guys. Also suggesting mainhand torches and shields is going a bit off topic aswell…

Just buy them off the TP. They are really cheap. Ive been waiting for them to go up before I sell mine but even though you cant get them anymore people seem to have no interest.

Agree with Bright. A much better design would be to make it a predefined weapon but you get to choose the stats. Or just allow the box to be tradable. Can they be salvaged? If they can then atleast getting a box isnt completely useless, if not then its an even more serious issue of stupid design.

Depends on your build with the guard. If you only have 5 pts in honour ur gonna have 10k hp. One slip up and your dead. If you have 25 pts in honour uve got a bit more room for error.
Which is why i feel safer with warrior over my mesmer/guard. Warrior can take a tick or two of damage if i screw up but mesmer and guard pretty much just instant down. Obviously not gonna be an issue with more practise but for learning i think warrior is the best to solo on.
