Those are 2 instances where conditions are pretty good (dont agree on hotw though, raw damage kills them way faster than they can heal). But not exactly better. Your ignoring the many places where conditions get cleansed constantly or where direct damage is modified by boss mechanics. Or that raw damage just kills everyting faster in all situations. You can deal with boons on mobs in many ways. Direct damage always works, condition damage becomes completely useless in some situations so its really stupid to pigeon hole yourself with a condition build.

It amuses me when people think condition builds are one of the “best builds” for dungeons. Way to show how little you know about dungeons.
Hmm well atleast this isnt another tafu thread.
Doable but pointless.
You cant tank in gw2, so making tanky builds for pve is pointless.
Damage modifiers > raw stats. Which is why 10/30/0/5/25 is the best for dps. It uses GS and sword focus.
Honestly just get them with orrian boxes. You will have too many eventually. Aslong as you use karma for boxes for making some money every now and again.
You cant remember 13 maps? Im on 10/13. I havent needed to write anything down, i know the ones im missing are blazeridge, dredgehaunt and maelstrom. Dredgehaunt I actually did but i AFK’d in the zone and watched some tv, when I came back I had the reward but didnt get the achieve progress so I know to repeat that one. Its pretty awkward when people seem to struggle to use their brains.
Theres nothing I love more than being stuck in a dungeon when I should be going to bed.
As if some guy on the internet got a law named after him.
@Menace
I never actually responded to your post. I actually agree with what you’ve said. You did come off as slightly aggressive which is why some people in this thread have attacked you. People dont like others telling their idols they are wrong. You should try and tone down your posts and be a bit more polite, people on these forums take offense so easily. Ive had a hard time trying to tone my posts down so I dont upset anyone but then I still seem to manage it every now and again. Forums are full of emotional and stubborn people and thats not going to change.
Blood magic seems a complete waste to me for many of the reasons you provided and the reasons nemesis chose it just seem like excuses to put the points somewhere. You dont actually need any of them.
The human heal is really good for guardians. Almost as strong as signet but on a lower cooldown.
Front page liberation anyone?
Many people now using full berserker got there a piece at a time.
But I really wish I was told to start off on beserker. I have so many bad habits thanks to forgiving gear.
Yeah I only want to help people. I will never trash a build without giving good explanations as to why I disagree with something.
Thing to note, power is never a useless stat and I do agree with most other people that 30/30 is better even for a full condition build. Duration is good and power is always helpful. Which is why id argue carrion armour is also better, maybe mix in some rabid or rampager trinkets to boost crit chance.

Soul marks are far more important in pvp.
You really expect massive build variety when theres only 2 teams rofl?
You will find it easier to find groups if you build zerker and have the ability to join “speedrun groups”. Most pug speedrun groups are pretty bad though, it just filters out bad builds atleast.
I also personally think healing/tanky builds are leeching builds due to them slowing the runs down and being selfish. Lots of people seem to take offense to that. If you arent that fussed about how you build, but you enjoy being useful and contributing to a group then you should deffo look into sticking with dps builds for classes. Noone will tell you you are wrong to build zerker in pve. If they do then they are stupid.
ps. Might take a bit of practise to get use to being that squishy, but its better to learn the hard way than to start off with forgiving gear and get into bad habits of not dodging or wasting dodges.

Ye but he tends to always have it up when I wanna go hit him and switching to a ranged weapon is 2much hassle for me!
Nope the wraith mask has a slight tint around the eyes. Shows up differently on different skin colours though. So you could try a makeover kit and see if you can make it less visible with a differnt skin colour.
The fastest and easiest way to do the Husk room is to have one person solo the boss.
This.
Conditions are actually very strong in the very low levels. But they quickly drop off in effectiveness. Wouldnt ever recommend condition builds for dungeons though.
He reflects projectiles though or destroys them. Only mesmers and necro’s can range the husk afaik. Just run in, auto attack with axe a few times then move out before you get murdered.
Molten facility, aetherblade retreat and thaumanova reactor will all be added to fractals next year.
The meta for dungeons is dps and zerker gear. So if your serious about dungeons, going for an altruistic healing spec will make you a laughing stock.
This “meta” is a big load of bull. Find a build you like, play with friends and guildies who also play builds they like and just have fun. Not everyone who plays this game wants to constantly do speed runs and blow by all the content.
I play a healway guardian in dungeons with a hammer and have tons of fun with it. Normal pve is a joke with it, just run into as big of a group as you can find and aoe them all down.
What you described is not the meta though… I was informing him of the optimum way to build in dungeons. Not everyone is so against building so they are most effective in the content they are playing. If you want to play with healy and tanky builds thats fine. But they arent viable for serious and efficient dungeon runs.

Good hammer build for dungeons.
7/10
Not really a fan of the common gothic look a lot people go for on their necros. But atleast you chose some decentish armour and a nice colour scheme.
Heres my necro in her rampager set. Really happy with the dye combo i found for it, goes so well with the fervid censer backpiece.
But but… my fear does damage!
shhhhhhhh
Got it.
Classic pretend you were trolling all along tactic.
We arent that bad.
They probably want you to specify zerker, and not DPS in #7.
I’m just, y’know, hazarding a guess out there.
Think its more about the “(not fractals)” part. Soz I had to just give it away. :L
highest dps builds for pve are 10/30/0/5/25 or 10/25/0/10/25
Yeah, that’s what this game needs. Time gating on kicking people.
I lol’d.
This thread makes me feel young again

True, its not as big a problem as people make it out to be. Its still annoying though.
Lich form auto not saving as enabled has also been added to the bug tracker btw.
But when you switch to axe your stacks are gonna drop off a bit because you wont be maintaining the long duration might and you wont be getting back new 5 second might stacks. If you stay on axe for too long you could lose a lot of might.
I take my time. I will not run from lupi!
Its not really 30k dps though because you have to build up the stacks on one target first and then epidemic. In that time the warriors and guardians have already killed those mobs. And I dont think its 6 targets? Isnt it 4 + the mob you cast epidemic on = 5. Beserker builds achieve about 11-12k dps in optimum conditions. So a warrior with cleave can beat 10k dps on a single target. Plus warrior and guardian have their strongest burst skills as aoe (whirlwind attack and whirling wrath).
Anyway for most groups in fractals the popular composition is 2 zerk wars, 2 zerk guards and 1 optional. Necro is a perfectly good choice in that composition. Its just unfortunate that cleave is very important in a lot of fights in fractals.

The swipe is really slow. Just walk behind him.
Fire doesnt crit and force boosts your damage from all sources by 5%. Clear winner.
I just wish forceful GS didnt overwrite might.
=/= lupis
Your trait tree has nothing to do with the dagger.
The only tree that has dagger traits is blood magic. And those are awful traits anyway…..
Yeah but they do more damage with cleave than necro does with aoe.
I would recomend this build to new players. It has high EHP, is ranged and doesn’t loose much efficiency if you use all your skills on cooldown. Of course you can do it wrong, but it won’t hurt that much.
Othewise, if you want AoE as a necromancer, go hybrid. Have you ever heard of this Nemesis-guy? He wrote a really good hybrid guide. You should watch it.
Guide is not bad. If you want to play conditions, thats a good way to do it. (Well, I would use Dhuumfire, since nothing but guardians F1 causes burning in the average party, but anyway.)
The problem is: in PvE you need both AoE-Burst (trash) and sustained singletarget dps (boss). And this build has neither. Have I ever mentioned, that my warrior (in organized groups) deals more sustained AoE-damage with greatsword autohits than every conditionbased necromancer? Like, 20% more damage?
maybe on boss, but would like to see someone (not necro) that kills Ascalon fractals 48 mobs baster than my necro, or Shaman spawns, or the icebrod guys in the first part, or maybe… the 4 golems in the last part of the harpy fractals, everithing about conditionmancer in PVE is not about the damage on 1-2 targets its about our UNIQUE ability to almost instagib X6 mobs (Yeh you heard me right X6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Warriors and guardians kill them really fast. Hybrid is ok in fractals but having another warrior is probably more useful.
