Well, we’ve been droppin in ranks since September. Didn’t hit tier 8. ArenaNet thought they would fix that by transferrin people for free to our competition. Didn’t hit tier 8. So they bump everyone below us up in rating. That’s what it takes I guess.

Edit: What really strikes me is how different the outcome would have been before the free transfer week. I do feel like I’ve been kicked in the balls twice. We didn’t get transfers so we’re forced down a tier to fight servers that got tier 1 transfers. Cool.

chesterwing definitely has the wrong idea. i didn’t really go out of my way to kill anyone, i just turned the xoxo mesmers (and others) in to moas.

i was really keen to see if the twilight guardian would leave twilight moa footprints but sadly, i lagged and did not get to see the result as he’d run away before my lag went away. i logged off before anything reverted to a tower, and iverna logged before i did. in fact, i think the bulk of us headed off around/within the same time frame.

whatever the XvZerg +siege+fort nonsense is, it isn’t what we’re talking about, so please stop sullying our clean fun defense of flame rams with this.

You do realize SPCA/XOXO/SPLT etc have a lot of friends on GOM/HOD and there exists quite a bit of respect between us and many guilds on those server. His comment was obviously a harmless jest about a situation that everyone involved was just messing around having fun.

We aren’t arrogant as much as we are egotistical. Also, the quotes you’re talking about that make us seem “arrogant are stupid” are pointed towards our own servermates, which doesn’t pertain to this argument at all. We came here to express the fun that we had last night, and a majority of us were actually in bed before you ended up pushing us back to the turret. All you’re demonstrating here is that you actually missed the fun part, which is what we’re asking for a “rematch” in. Both Oba and I were asleep before towers even got involved, so I don’t see why you’re continuing to bring that up when it has nothing to do with what we were even mentioning.

An odd sight in GoM BL tonight. Perhaps the world is coming to an end: PAXA catapulting Woodhaven. Felt I needed to screenshot it to prove it actually happened.

Not as odd as you might think, it’s an age-old tradition held by PAXA and friends to catapult a tower or keep in order to draw out a zerg to kill. It is a necessary evil that we must endure at times.

I’m pretty sure knocking people off works exactly like pulling people off. It depends on what the edge is like and how far they are. You can totally knock people off walls. Hell, even the NPC lord has knocked me off at Lake and Briar towers.

Just don’t text her on Friday night when she’s out with her girlfriends until about 9 pm and then be ready to go pick her up from the bar at 11. Sat morning be ready to meet her parents for breakfast and then go to the movies with her after at about 3 pm. That’s all it takes to keep her.

It is my theory that if there were only 3 servers and they were 99.9% equal, such that the scores at the end of the week were something like 300k, 300k, 300k+1, people would be transferring to the winning server.

It is also my theory all those people are in tier 1 already and sounds like they’re on Jade Quarry today.

I don’t know what there’s to complain about, I think that’s just the way people are.

This is less about WvW and more about spreading people among the servers. Sorrow’s Furnace might not need more WvW players but apparently it could use some PvE ones.

No Idea Where? [Sekz] ended up fighting us again in Ebay. Its been interesting seeing them again, but they lost most of their zerg busting edge and went more mainstream guild.

I think they removed the requirement for population to be at medium… once they realized which 3 servers were medium at the time and how it would unbalance WvW they just changed it to be all 6 servers in T7&8

What? Where did you see that?

All I see is: “Until April 1, 2013, it is free to transfer to all Medium population worlds! Players are still restricted to one world transfer per week, so choose wisely.”
This was taken from the official patch notes.

They didn’t remove the requirement. It just happens the 6 medium sized servers in North America is the two bottom tiers, I guess. In Europe one of them 6 is Piken Square in tier 3.

No, don’t over think it. Free transfers for a week to the bottom two North American tiers.

I don’t expect much in the way of transfers, to be honest. When the end to free transfers was announced, everyone was linin up to transfer to the higher tiers not the lower tiers. For most people, I don’t expect anythin has changed.

Maybe you should discuss it, you’re the one who started the topic. You can start with why you can’t right now communicate with people on another map.

Your post isn’t very helpful; regardless of whether or not the OP has ‘discussed’ it, he’s attempting to encourage some form of discussion regarding this cross-map communication.

Moreover, he hasn’t said he can’t communicate between maps and leaders. He’s saying that perhaps ANet should implement a feature whereby we’re able to see other commander icons on other maps from where we are in WvW. It would make it easier than having to constantly message people and ask “Who’s commanding here?”

I don’t know how difficult it would be but I think it’d be pretty helpful to teams trying to organise and work out where they want to go/where they are needed.

You’re right, I wasn’t helpful and I’m sorry. Havin people just say “Discuss” is a peeve of mine and I totally gave in.

We probably only have half a dozen commanders with tags on on at a time, so we don’t have too much problems talking between them. Most commanders are on the server TS and just jump between the server channels to ask for help. Never occurred to me havin a whole friends list of commanders, haha.

i have never transfered to anyother server. i am not like those who definatly want win but i am sick of it. we never found tier, still imbalanced by a lot. after playing for 2 months and getting nothing, now i am even looking at a transfer. NEVER before i have transfered out cause i was losing.

You’re still not too bad in tier 4. I don’t really know if it’s as bad as you’re makin it sound. At a quick glance, your tier seems it is middle of the pack for how balanced it is.

My server lost a lot of matches and we got over it, found our tier, and we have a blast with a smaller scale WvW.

I don’t think that’s what you want to hear though. I guess you want to know why you can’t transfer to a winning server for free whenever your server is losing? No offence but I guess I’d say it’s ’cause of people like you.

My favourite server is at this sushi place I go to. He always remembers me and asks me how I’m doin and even what my order is. Great service.

IMO the most important thing is a deep and thorough knowledge and experience of siege placement, the capabilities of siege, and what siege the current flow of supply will allow either yourself or the enemy. You can learn Sun Tzu off by heart, you can get a degree in group psychology, but still the difference between success and failure can be a treb placed a few feet out of position or an incorrect assessment of how much seige/supply will be needed to handle a situation. Best commander can with a single glance tell what seige will / won’t work on an enemy keep, and knows all the best spots to counter enemy trebs etc. Bad commanders build trebs too far away to hit a tower, try to build rams under enemy superior AC, and send golems at enemy cannons.
Battle tactics, war strategy, and charismatic leadership are completely useless if you don’t have a complete mastery of game mechanics.

I agree with this as well. Things like mortar ranges/locations save so much trouble. I’ve seen lots of experienced players command into situations that automatically fail because they weren’t experienced with that sort of thing.

Honestly, you should just do WvW for a while. You have to be able to think ahead and that includes recognizing situations and having a good idea of how they’re going to evolve. Nothin I do in dungeons/fractals relates at all to WvW.

Might have something to do with the fact that When Kain left T8, people said the same thing, and Kain beat t7 like a hapless puppie, stomping T7 harder then they ever stomped T8, I mean, I am not sure how T7 deals with the shame of being stomped harder by Kain then T8 was, I am sure they have their stories, on how they justify doing worse then T8, but, lets be real, their vanity on how good they think they are compared to T8 is not founded, never has been, and history has shown it.

So, yah, maybe we blow off lines like this because we heard it all before, it wasn’t true then, not going to be true now.

But hey, if T7 is as good as it thinks it is, then it will stomp SF and whoever comes down will stomp ET and FC and next week, everyone will go back to where they belong, all will be good in the world. But we all know that is not what is going happen.

Dude, there’s nothin to deal with. I guess the only problem here that’s agitating anyone is match making gave us a balanced set of matches and you guys have a less balanced one. But really keep it to yourself, none of us can do anythin to sort your stuff out and it’s not our responsibility to. You want us to throw a match? Hell, why not ask Jade Quarry to throw one? I mean, any server can drop in ranks.

If Sorrow’s Furnace is better, I don’t care. Most servers field more numbers than us and we don’t care, we’re only interested in improving our game and your game ain’t our business.

Making sure the tiers are ordered in skill is less important than making sure the tiers are having balanced matches. If tier 8 has the 3 best servers but they’re stuck there because they’re good matches for each other, I’m gonna be happy for you guys and not lose sleep over it. The only ones who think tiers matter are the guys who transferred to tier 1.

I’m secretly a gossip and drama that doesn’t involve me is always fun to listen to. Otherwise, I don’t know what to say. I mean, lovin the match, love that keeps don’t keep their waypoints and neither does Stonemist and it feels like any server can win the match.

Isle of Janthir might visit the tier and I don’t how that will be but this is good times right now and am gonna enjoy them while they’re here.

we’re a server full of pve’ers and casual wvw’ers now. anyone that’s left here is here because they either a) didn’t care about wvw to begin with or b) stayed because they love it here (woo friends).

i say both gom and hod deserve more change of scenery & since nsp is far too keen at bragging about pvdoor we should send them someplace where they can do it 24/7.

I’m tired of talkin about what Henge of Denravi is playin for. Everyone’s free to attack each other and I’m not gonna blame anyone for takin a shot.

I could come up with a dozen reasons why they should have moved to wipe our borderlands just like I can think of a dozen reasons why they shouldn’t have. It’s not black and white (just like Henge of Denravi isn’t one entity makin these decisions) and we need to stop passively aggressively talkin past each other as if it is.

If there are 10+ people to keep running him, ya gotta keep defendin against him. WvW don’t stop.

Heck, even being hard to kill and giving lousy rewards is what WvW is about.

When I was level’in in September, I cheered for orichalcum nodes. Now I cheer for gold nodes in the borderlands.

I’ve come pretty far.

Transfer to a lower tier. We split all the time to outmanoeuvre enemy zergs.

People in higher tiers who complain there’s too many people make my eyes roll.

And there we have it. If the week were to end with the last scores reported by Millenium, IoJ would fall into T6. Next week’s matchups should show us whether or not there will be a new long term equilibrium in the bottom tiers.

So what does that mean for NSP? Where will NSP be after tomorrow?
