Legit question for all you scoreboarders….What tier is NSP realistically going to be in for a while?
I’m going with a slightly different answer than the other replies you’ve gotten. NSP should finish the week with a higher ranking than we started (we’re currently -3 points right now). T6 is still up in the air. BP started a little slow, but have since reclaimed the lead. It’s pretty common for the score to be tight through Tuesday night, then BP usually steps on the gas and pulls away. If they stay true to form, they should break into T5 this week as IoJ is taking a pounding (-24 rank points when they only had a 6 point lead over BP to start the week). In that case, it’s just a question of whether or not DH manages to stick in the tier. That really could go either way.
The important thing to note is that if IoJ doesn’t drop into T6 this week, it’ll happen soon. When that does happen, they’ll probably drag AR and DH’s scores upwards a bit (unless they turn out to be bigger than BP, possible but I personally doubt it). My prediction is that T6 and T7 will ultimately end up with:
T6 – (DR or AR)/NSP/DH
T7 – IoJ/GoM/HoDRatings hell will prevent SF from ever exiting T8. At this point, they’d have to score something like 450k+ every week for over a month in order to break that tier. They put up about 300k last week and lost 52 rank points.
I’ll be honest, I totally didn’t look at tiers other than 6-8, haha.
There’s more to a server’s capacity than the WvW population.
Also plenty of people don’t want their WvW with queues and people everywhere. We had months to go to tiers that had better coverage and didn’t. It was free and totally not a secret and somehow we still consciously turned it down.
Tiers 1-2 (I am going to guess the original poster is from these tiers): Please deal with the above fact.
Legit question for all you scoreboarders….What tier is NSP realistically going to be in for a while?
Probably this one.
Darkhaven wasn’t going to catch Northern Shiverpeaks any time soon and it doesn’t seem like they’re doin any worse in tier 6 than you guys did and you guys aren’t doin much different in tier 7 than they did (though you do play quite different).
You may have to learn to like us.
Hmm… How do we get out of this tier then?
Tier 6 is very close, so no one is dropping rating there in the near future. You basically have to earn your rating by beating the crap out of us and Henge of Denravi.
That or wait for a tier 6 server to take a week off. I mean, worked for Darkhaven!
Jade Quarry and Sanctum of Rall sound like such underdogs.
why don’t we just all merge on to darkhaven. nsp+gom+hod+ar+bp+dh= ehmry bay.
Probably ’cause anyone on Gates of Madness that would ever think about transferrin left and never came back. There is a bit of madness in those who stayed on Gates of Madness.

go T6…. much more balanced match up.. i believe less zergy as well
T6 is pretty balanced yes, but it is actually very zergy.
Really? How’s it compare to tier 7?
After reading this, I’m ready to give Northern Shiverpeaks a big enough lead just so they can get back to tier 6.
You guys need each other really badly!
I just want to bump this up and ask, has anyone been even CLOSE to completing any one of the achievements under WvW. I mean i’ve been playing since release and I’ve got 1k+ wvw kills playing casually. I imagine more hardcore players are probably at least 20x my amount… so lets say 20,000 kills/250,000 is still another 6 years before anyone gets the killing achievement? Likewise with everything else. Anet really wanted to make these achievements as close to impossible as possible eh.
Red Guard guild leader has around 170k kills.
Must be a higher tier thing. I’ve never heard of anyone with more than 25k in tier 7.
Not only are you going to tier 8 but they’re already startin a tier 9 for ya where you will find a fair match up by squaring your last 3 active players in a free for all.
On behalf of NSP, I declare war in the JP. So no QQing.
I guess I have to kill people in JP now… Why can’t we all just be friends? Is it really that hard?
The T8 servers have been hoping that we’d murder HoD and send them down to T8, forcing SF up to T7. Honestly, we need to try harder. SF deserves to move up. Let’s give them the chance, k?
If Eredon Terrace and Ferguson’s Crossing want to move Sorrow’s Furnace up that bad, all they have to do is stop fighting.
You’re welcome to spend your time fighting Henge of Denravi though, I mean, I don’t wanna get hurt taking your stuff or anything.
while the omg condescending fights are fun at GOM keep right now, you can fight each other any time you want NSP/HOD. pretty bored of the double team.
Ha!
Here’s my opinion: we have some people who think Henge of Denravi is a push over and want to fight them, even while Darkhaven/Northern Shiverpeaks is hitting us. An hour later it’s all us back in our garrison/Eternal Battleground keep going “omg 2v1”.
1. My nasty guild made me do PvE! Guild missions or something, all to waypoints i didnt have so i fought a dragon -.-
2. NSP trying to take garrison, idk why you built so many trebs right by our gate though.
Your guild made you do what? Those jerks! Boo! Hiss!
Enjoyin the match up so far!
I will miss my Darkhaven friends but now rediscovering Northern Shiverpeak friends. And Anvil Rock is visiting too!
Alright, group hug everybody. You too, Henge of Denravi, not forgettin you buds!
group hug
I’m sure some of the folks from AR and BP will be keeping tabs on how it goes between GoM and NSP. Both servers had a lot of fight and just lacked the numbers. I think I’ll be pulling for GoM. Is [Newl] still there?
Nope. Haven’t seen ’em in months. Not sure if they transferred or just stopped playing, but we definitely miss them.
They transferred to Maguuma months ago.
Not only does this assume the world should revolve around what happens to you in your time zone but it’s got some great tier bias as well.
Yeah, I make at least that much a day as well. But it’s now like 25 gold for an armour set. And citadel runs earn like 3+ gold an hour + badges for items that have half a dozen different stats to choose from and you’re not going to get a big repair bill or have to buy siege to do it. And there’s no gear you can only obtain in WvW (such as monk runes, which you have to get in a dungeon).
Also when is PvE server success going to give me bonuses in WvW? ‘Cause that would be clutch. Also I would get to stand in Lion’s Arch about what losers my server’s PvE players are if they aren’t scoring as high I’d like.
kitten, that last paragraph was brilliant. ArenaNet, get on that!
Edit: Sorry, I am totally usin this thread to vent!
Haha, I liked that last paragraph, that would be interesting. One time our guild actually zerged the Balthazar event and got it done in some ridiculous time. Would be hilarious if we earned WvW bonuses for that.
I do agree that PvEing is going to earn you more loot/gold/shinies/cool stuff, however, that’s not why I personally play WvW. Yeah I agree it could and probably should be more balanced (maybe like a nice rare drop for taking SM or a keep or garrison like with map completion or these new guild events)
O wow, I think I just had a cool idea XD Can we get that passed along with your WvW bonuses idea :P
We’re all ideas up in here! high five!

Monthly completions are worth 10 laurels, I hear. I wouldn’t know because I’ve never been able to complete a monthly in WvW.
PvE players have very little to spend money on and they make vastly more per hour than we do. 5g to them is pocket change. I don’t think I’ve ever had 5g in my hand. As it was I had to stop purchasing upgrades and really cut back my siege purchases so that I could afford to keep using consumables.
Even the things WvW has technical access to is much harder to obtain than via PvE.
I’m sorry you couldn’t take the time to do 7 dungeon runs. One of the CoF paths takes like 10-15 minutes to complete. I stand by my statement that playing all content = receiving all rewards. You can still obtain laurels via dailies, it will just take longer.
I can generate 1g a day (day = about 3-4 hours) in WvW sometimes more if we do well. This is with upgrading camps and towers. I use my badges for siege. 5g seems like a generous price to me for an ascended item.
Oh?
Which part of them is designed to get anyone involved in WvW?
Touche, however I would argue that I wouldn’t want too much of this in WvW tbh like I stated in my post. I’ve actually been in WvW when a large PvE guild came through to do map completion and it was utter chaos because half of my guild (mainly WvW guild) couldn’t get in, and map chat was spammed with “can we please take this tower next, I need the POI.”
I will say they could do minor adjustments to fix this. They did have the 50 WvW kills for the daily at one point, and you do have to collect badges for your legendaries as well. Then you see all the PvErs QQ about having to PvP to get their PvE content.
It’s all a balance issue, and while I agree with your second point to some extent, I still stand by my earlier post that I like what they are doing to get players through more of their content.
Yeah, I make at least that much a day as well. But it’s now like 25 gold for an armour set. I am aboard this complain train.
WvW exotic gear might as well not exist. The heavy one shares its skin with low level PvE karma vendors. The stats can be gotten cheaper off PvE karma vendors in Orr and like half the dungeons I’m sure give them out anyway (and dungeons actually pay good money on top of the ridiculous fast way to earn badges). How is this still a situation? It’s like 6 months after release now! How come this is the only equipment we can earn in WvW?
The monthly achievement this month had dungeons. That was a lil’ ridiculous. Half my guild skipped it. Where’s the achievement for spendin an hour runnin over a map flippin camps to split people before makin a push on a fully upgraded tower while outmanned? or having spending half a gold repairing every night because there isn’t some glitchy AI abusin way to win every fight I’m in. What do PvE players spend their gold on if not repairs or buying siege other than drivin up prices on the tradin post?
Ugh, the guild mission ascended gear feels like a kick in the balls. I thought what they meant was “earn it in multiple ways, which includes people in WvW. We totally aren’t going to keep it away from them for 4 months, at which point they can have 1 after doing their dailies for 30 days”.
I also don’t think adding an ecto cost on top of the laurels is helping anyone other than PvE players who got too much gold. All the rich people in the game I know run dungeons or Fractals or play the trading post. None of them just play WvW a lot. At least for me, putting in a lot of hours in WvW only means that after I gear a character I have 5 gold left in the bank.
Where is the karma vendor for the heavy skin?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lionguard_Armor
Maybe I was mistaken. I thought you could get the Lionguard armour in the game.
Also it’s another way to earn ascended gear. Because it’s about time PvE players had a 3rd way to earn ascended gear. 4 months and I still can’t earn it in WvW.
I am just grumpy today!
If you look at the picture, you can tell that the ascended gear will also cost only 5g, not sure if that will be the case with the release tonight, but that is easily obtainable by a WvW player. Also, the laurel system is easily obtainable in WvW. So in reality, PvErs only have Fractals over WvW atm.
As for the concerns of the OP, to have the guild events in WvW to me would bring about the same heartache that the jumping puzzle brings to WvW. There will be guilds that come in from PvE to solely do the guild event essentially taking the slots of the more hardcore WvWrs.
As someone who has leveled a necro 100% in WvW AND has map completion on top of that, I can’t sympathize with your concerns. Go out and explore some, it’s not too hard. These events were specifically designed to get EVERYONE involved in EVERYTHING, not just letting you hide in one corner of the game. Playing all the content = receiving all of the rewards, I like what they are doing and look forward to the challenges they raise.
I have 100% map completion already, thanks. I also am a lil’ proud to say I have done all the jumping puzzles. But I don’t want to grind things in PvE. I have lil’ patience for being inside Fractals or dungeons. I feel pretty done with that part.
The picture is 5 gold + 12 commendations. You only get guild commendations through doin the guild missions in open world PvE. What? My WvW guild is going to have to start doing an hour of PvE every day? I’m going to have to join a PvE guild every day for an hour? I don’t understand, this just highlights how out of whack the rewards between PvE players and WvW players are.
Laurel monthly was PvE. You had to do dungeons. I know WvW players that skipped it for that reason. Laurels are also ridiculous. It’s 1 equipment piece a month. There’s 6 pieces right now per character (not even counting you can’t get a backpiece without Fractals right now). I can gear a character once every 6 months? How long does it take doing Fractals? Things aren’t alright the way they are, dude.
If they suddenly are alright with the next patch, it’ll be like 5 months of “What the hell guys? I’m playin your game daily, where’s my bling too?”

I have to do PvE to get gear and gold to pay for siege, repairs, upgrades, PvE nonsense buffs. Laurels, fractals, and now guild mission rewards are the only ways to get ascended gear and they’re all PvE modes and just thinkin about them makes me vomit.
I don’t care that you have to log in and walk to a couple vistas so you can have a shiny weapon or gold star or whatever.

Why I go out and fight but legendary defenders stay back and watch?
MOAARR GOLEMS
MOOAAAAARRRRRR
Sure is fun being double teamed tonight. :-/
What? No.
While Henge of Denravi was running golems over our map, Darkhaven was hitting them in the back on our map runnin breakout events.
Later when Darkhaven was making pushes on our map, I saw Henge of Denravi holding 2 towers on the Darkhaven borderlands.
The general feeling I get is condition builds are tankier than berserker builds.
if anyone was curious, hugfest was pretty fun. thumbs up
See, I expect it to be PST ‘cause that’s where ArenaNet is. Not home to check though!
I don’t like this. There’s lots of situations where I have 5 people on the map and we’re trying to dodge 15+.
You can’t scout with 5 people and now I can’t tell whether it’s quaggans at the camp or 20 people hitting it. What the hell is the map good for now?
What’s the point in teaming up against GoM for DH ?
If Henge of Denravi and Gates of Madness are fighting in each other’s borderlands, Darkhaven territory is safe and they can hold most of Eternal Battlegrounds. It makes them win more for higher rating gains.
Friday Henge of Denravi was winning, Saturday Gates of Madness was winning. Darkhaven can lose this match, I believe.
(edited by styx.7294)
Hello, everyone.
I heard that members of HoD and DH formed a small truce today and I’d like to apologise to Gates of Madness on behalf of HoD right now.
I want you all to know it was only a few guilds from each server that agreed to this and not HoD as a whole. There was actually quite a large backlash on the forums and in map chat at this truce with a lot of the non participating players and guilds finding this to be dishonorable and not in the Henge spirit.
It’s hard for us here and HoD since our server population is, as far as I am aware, the smallest or close to being it. But we here at HoD generally believe in a fair game (even if we fight dirty where need arises) and we don’t approve on teaming up on someone, so I apologise on behalf of my server to GoM players for the actions taken by one of our guilds today.
Either way I’d like to schedule a little cross server get together at 5pm server time today in HoD. You guys can guest over here and say hi to us in Divinity’s Reach in the central gardens, outside of the palace, meeting near the Asuran gate. I think after fighting for so long it’d be interesting to talk to our enemies face to face and to meet some people cross server. We’ll probably be stuck together for a while so I think it’d help to ease the tiredness we’re all experiencing in this match up if we make some friends. So guest over to HoD, BYO drinks and just chat for a while.
Which time zone is server time? I might attend that.
Nah, Debois, you can whisper anyone whose account info you know. Any post here opens you up to be contacted in the game.
(edited by styx.7294)
Guess that’s what happens when some players in GoM start trash talking my guild. Some of my guild members have enen gotten whispers from some of GoMs players about how they hate us and that were garbage. Which is fine I guess.
Didn’t know anything about the ‘alliance’ since I was on duty yesterday and didn’t play at all. But my gf does text me so I know alil about whats goin on.
You can block and report them under verbal abuse, that shouldn’t be tolerated.
Thats just great.
I just saw the outmanned buff at GOM Borderlands. There are others getting tired as well of this matchup. It begins to get demoralizing especially when you are being double teamed.
Guess I’ll keep on fighting.
Keep your chin up. This is the goal afterall of the matchmaking, There is not a high chance that the servers will ever be close enough to facilitate matches changing out frequently, and all we can hope for is for the bracket below us to gain more traction and people to the point that they can fluctuate with our tier easier.(not to mention that matchups were first advertized as initially going to be 2-3 week long matches, not these 1 week matches we are currently having, nor the 1 day matches we started with) If you really want constantly fluctuating matches, there are not enough servers to have a rotating tier as such, and more servers is not the answer.
The servers I was watching to see where they would stabilize have found stabilizing tiers already(IoJ, SBI), so the only thing you can do is either get your server to purposely throw a match, if you want to change it up THAT bad, which would, in turn, make One server go down a bracket, and Probably give DH enough points to catapult them up a bracket where DH doesn’t have enough people to compete in the next tier and will lose, and just come back anyways.
On the topic of doubleteaming… That’s one of the downsides to a 1v1v1 type setup. Everyone will be double teamed sometime during the match, and the only way to do out with it is to run a 1v1 setup. I know many times I’ve gone into WvW and seen GoM chomping at the bits in our borderlands with HoD pushing hard at our properties in EB. Just need to rally and push back. That’s all you can do.
Keep heart, but realize that these matchups won’t change like they used to, and will probably lock into near perminent matchups. That’s the downside to very even matchups.(yes, we are a rather even matchup, even if DH has won frequently since we moved down here)
EDIT: On the topic of doubleteaming: I felt this was important to bring to light for anyone interested: [SE] Is currently “allying” itself with HoD, at least on some level, to push GoM out of our matchup. This is going on, and was noted in /t when Abyss took a tower that GoM was holding in HoD’s borderlands. Play for server, play your best, and play for fun, Doubleteaming is not kosher, guys, and [Abys] will never take part in such an action.
gasp! I thought we were friends, Darkhaven and Henge of Denravi!
You know what, I don’t even care, bring it, kittenes. One can golem rush our keeps and one can golem rush our garrison all day every day. I will kill you.
Sorrow’s Furnace is 100 points behind Gates of Madness right now and looks like they’re closing. Darkhaven is about 50 points behind Northern Shiverpeaks but the gap is widening at the current scores.
http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA
Could be a few more weeks.
I think that they should just add in Gigantor Golems.
Where you build 5 Omega golems.
Get them to stack ontop of each other, and then hit like the 6 number.
And they morph into this huge kitten golem capable of being anti-personnel, with Omega golems as legs and arms. Which will just rip open walls and eat them etc etc. Has to have fire and hello kitties on the side too.
You can only build one when outmanned with buff.I’ve attached a schematic for Anet.
I agree with this guy.
[Mort] should totally be in this video
PD are definitely sneaky folk.
The only thing that I’m sour on about ninja capping is that a thief can perma invis inside a keep and that ain’t right. I sure would like to know what to do about that. Also looking forward to them forcing respawns, whenever they’ll get around to that.
Oh, I stayed dead until there until the 10s timer to be kicked for inactivity. It was a very close call. I then waited in the corner with no stealth for 15 more min waiting on a distraction.
So sneaky!

ps: if you need GT killed just call for help from kitten ARM specializes in crushing GT.
I do apologize, but I’ve never seen anyone from [ARM] stomp us, could you remind us who you are?
Our leader also thanks a particular Engineer from Basic for this gem of a drop:
Whaaaaaaaat. When you guys gonna start dropping precursors?!
I am super sad my fantastically worded offer of alliance to Henge of Denravi in the last thread did not take hold. Friday was totally different with Henge of Denravi leading and then Gates of Madness was leading and then suddenly Henge of Denravi attacked our Hills!
(GASP! BOO!)
Darkhaven leadin again, which is less novel.
I don’t actually care who is better at 1v1.
1 person tying up 10 people is pretty heroic. Yesterday we broke into Bay at Darkhaven and there was only 1 [Mort] guy defending the lord room and that’s the sorta guy I’d buy a beer for.
That same guy went down fighting later on in the Hills lord room as well. DH needs to canonize that guy.
What a champ!
I was wonderin if you guys got Hills after my Internet went down.
the actions of 50 players make the actions of 5000 moot
You’re right, this IS the best game design ever. D.I.A.F. Zerglings.
Oh, if the game was set up so that the action of 50 smart players undid the work of 5000 brainless zerglings I’d be all for it. You can’t even begin to imagine how much I’d like it.
The problem is, the way it’s setup now, the impact you have on the game is not a function of your skill but of the time of day you play. Or, to be more precise, the impact you have is inversely proportional to the amount of players playing in WvW at the time, which given the server setup translates to “whoever has more people on at 8AM (local time of the server’s region) autowins”.
It also means, by definition, the game is decided by the actions of a tiny minority. There will never be a system that makes points worth less at certain times of the day. What if a server, such as Kaineng, which has mostly SEA and Korean players got less points when they are on? Then the work of the 5,000 on the other side would be wiped out by the 5,000 on the NA side simple because they play on this side of the ocean. If that doesn’t wipe this theory, I don’t know what does.
I’ve not seen that many proposal based on timezone. Most of the corrective proposals are a variation of “reduce the number of points scored by the server who enjoys a significant numerical superiority, while keeping a minimum lower cap to avoid stupid tricks like everyone logging off to deny points to the other servers”.
Any modification based on such a system would be completely independent of timezones; the only criterion would be “if you’re having it easy because you massively outnumber your opponent, you get less points”. Which sounds completely reasonable to me. In your scenario, the points of both oceanic and NA players would get a reduction resulting, ironically enough, on both sides having the same contribution to the respective scores.
I’m also starting to get a little bit tired of the whole “you can’t screw the players who play at off peak”. Again, by definition, those are a minority (otherwise it wouldn’t be called “off peak” in the first place) and the current system ends up screwing those who play at peak, which are, again by definition, the majority. I fail to see how screwing 100.000 to avoid screwing 10.000 is supposed to make sense.
sPvP is a football game, WvW is a gang war.
The problem with this (and all the other variations on “if you want balance go sPvP”) is that it leaves people like me, who’d like 150vs150 sPvP, with no options. As far as I know there’s no offering on the market for something like that. On the other hand, there’s lots and lots and lots of crappy, unbalanced open world pvp games…
I dunno how realistic your dream is. 150vs150 sPvP would require a great deal of organization. It’s one thing to get 10 people to agree to a schedule. It’s very different to get 300 people to show up for anything and agree on the rules. The more people you want to do something, the less organized it has to be.
I don’t mean to alarm you but those people wish us harm!
OMG! No way! I thought we were all friends now since we can’t seem to get enough of each other week after week. I mean there has to be a reason why we are all sticking around in t7 together!
All joking aside the 10v1 doesn’t bother me nor does the dancing/laughing. I take it for what it is and have a good time. I just sit there and hope that maybe I delayed 10 people from an important meeting they were trying to get to. Haha.
I mean, I honestly cannot be sure of their intentions because they never talk to me but their body language (which includes swinging swords and hurtling fireballs in my face) seems to suggest as much. So while I am not 100%, I did want to warn you of my suspicions.
1 person tying up 10 people is pretty heroic. Yesterday we broke into Bay at Darkhaven and there was only 1 [Mort] guy defending the lord room and that’s the sorta guy I’d buy a beer for.
Then again I keep forgetting about the non-aggression pact GoM has with DH. My bad!
Someone please tell the large murderous packs of DH that keep smashing me in the ground with impunity about this non aggression pact. They didn’t seem to get the memo on that one. Hahahaha.
I think the reality of it is that DH has a bigger number and coordination advantage than we do, so when we try to take their stuff we are met with some overwhelming defense at times and we just can’t seem to break through until our night crew shows up. At least that’s the logic I keep seeing in /team chat. So we go where we can get points and often times that means we are pointed in HoD’s direction. I suspect that what is also happening on your side of the fence? Regardless what should be happening is a GoM + HoD alliance to help bring DH down a little bit. As it stands those guys are hard to beat in this tier alone.
Also, I have never had my corpse danced on or /laughed at more than by DH guys. I guess 10v1 isn’t as funny from my perspective (from the floor, haha). Either way despite the loses we keep taking I’ve been having fun with both HoD and DH. However, I will not be sad to see DH go when they finally (hopefully soon) break the magical t7 barrier and head into T6. Gotta love the Glicko system.
I can’t say I can get on your high horse. My guild 10v1 all the time in Darkhaven borderlands and we have people that stop to /laugh and /dance now and then. War ain’t pretty. I don’t mean to alarm you but those people wish us harm!
DH does have more people and better coverage than GoM and HoD, but not enough to be unbeatable in this tier. However, HoD seems to be more content with fighting over table scraps than making a push to actually try to win. 2nd place = still lose.
HoD picking up table scraps? Funny how we call GoMs scavengers then. You can bet your bottom dollar that if DH is making a major push in HoD you will find GoM lurking around to pick up what DH does not take. Prime example was when DH was pushing our keeps GoM went and scavenged the supply camps. Or yesterday when HoD was busy in EB on the left side of the map, GoM was pushing us on the eastern flank yet as soon as DH backed off GoM disappeared. Then again I keep forgetting about the non-aggression pact GoM has with DH. My bad!
This whole conversation is ridiculous. They have people that wanna attack us and we have people that wanna attack them (people that aren’t me but whatever). Let’s all just roll with it. That’s what it takes.
Non-aggression pact? Really?
Edit: A pact would look like this:
Henge of Denravi and Darkhaven folk,
You have marvellous eyes and mischievous smiles that have captured tier 7’s heart. Happy Valentine’s Day, I hope you enjoy the badges I drop.
But Darkhaven, you keep winning. What’s up with that? Henge of Denravi, are we going to let them keep winning? We’ve been doing this so long, Henge of Denravi, let’s try something new.
Let’s be crazy. Let’s play Guild Wars 2 without our pants on. Also let’s ignore each other’s borderlands on Friday and double team Darkhaven. We’ll occupy them there, leave our borderlands safe to build up and we’ll see how the score is on Saturday and whether our new arrangement works for us.
What do you say? Will you romp through the sunny fields of 2v1 with me?

The one that has the most people, I imagine.
Anet sees WvW as PvX, so players doing PvE during the night are rewarded in the same way as players doing actual PvP. Imo this won’t cut it because it’s unfair and a lot of players are getting tired and will eventually leave.
Then the work of the 5,000 on the other side would be wiped out by the 5,000 on the NA side simple because they play on this side of the ocean
It would be countered, not wiped. Their effort would still be worth something. This is PvP, when one side scores the other side responds, this isn’t easymode PvE where all one does is grind and gather points.
Look at T1 EU as the OP says, no one wants to fight against Vizunah because most times the final result is decided by the night, non-PvP crew, resulting in demotivation during the time most people can play. Yes, servers like Desolation, Piken or SFR adapted and roflstomp Vizunah groups in fights, but in the end the night crew still wins the game. Not to mention that when SFR got a NA guild (PRX) Vizunah cried “THAT’S UNFAIR!” and PRX left labelled as the “dirty little nightcappers”.
I know they said the ladder isn’t supposed to be a reward, but it is so deal with it. Everyone wants to be #1 in ranking, but right now that doesn’t mean your server is actually good, just that it has a lot of players. Now that the free transfers are over, it would be very nice to have smaller servers have a fighting chance, maybe they have excellent WvW, they’re just not #1 because they don’t have a lot of people, that makes no sense in a competition (a.k.a. game)
Imagine a football game where one team would win because it had 17 players instead of the regular 11, wow that’d be boring.
Shutting down WvW during certain times is dictatorial, making ticks count less during certain times is also dictatorial, merging EU and NA is not practical and unwanted. The only real solution is to base score ticking on the amount of people online from all three sides (it could be exploited yes, but it’s still better then the current unrewarding system)
sPvP is a football game, WvW is a gang war.
