A guildie did his warrior strictly in WvW and we’re in tier 7. Took him about 70 or 80 hours if I recall right.

If it’s about the invulnerable spot, I use it myself and plenty on our server do it too. It just happens the spawn extends that far. Meddling with folk there is about the same as meddling with them while they’re by the legendary guards.

Otherwise, gonna quote CC Eva here:

That’s because they haven’t had a week to make the actual measured point gap in their match. Friday at reset their rating was going down a ton because the score was tied 0-0-0 but it didn’t matter then either.

We’ll see what their rating change is on Friday.

I’d say a tanky warrior or tanky guardian. Lets you be up front with the zerg so it’s not as boring and you get to stand up and do lotsa things in smaller battles.

To me it looks like Sorrow’s Furnace’s rating is going up since the WvW population boom you described in Week 2.

Last 2 weeks it’s gone up by over 50 points each match. At that rate, it should catch Henge of Denravi or us in Gates of Madness.

My server’s WvW folk are actually really happy.

For people who transferred to servers that have tons of WvW people and now are like “Queues are worse than before!” and “Zergs are worse than before!” and “Culling is worse than before!” well, I dunno, your problems are different than mine and what did you expect?

If there is a big with queues, then yeah, that’s a complaint. Though since I hardly ever queue, I don’t have an opinion on that problem.

So there is an issue with queue’s, well a massive issue.

Culling is also hot and cold – not being able to see a ram being used when commanding is just a bit frustrating.

Also comeon Anet let us know the new ratings system, just shows a complete lack of respect to all those who have paid for this game and put time and effort into it.

But the worst issue is the lack of any responce from Anet. At least let us know they are aware of these problems and trying to fix them.

Overall Anet’s communication with the wvw community is appalling. No doubt this thread will last all of 2 minutes before it is deleted. Wish they put as much effort into replying as they did in deleting posts etc.

They do posts on culling all the time. Everything we know on culling is because people like Habib come in and write essays for us.

As of this post HoD is projected to be ranked 14th in tier 5, GoM ranked 16th in tier 6, and DH ranked 4 in tier 2.

Essentially what you’re fighting for is your place in the new tiers. The more points you get the higher starting tier you will be placed in.

Meh, that doesn’t matter. Everyone should just do their best and that’s how the tiers will sort themselves out fastest.

I imagine what’s important is not to overload servers with total population.

In that case, having servers (here I included sPvP population as PvE) that are low WvW/high PvE and high WvW/low PvE is better than low WvW/low PvE and high WvW/high PvE.

If a server in tier 7 loses consistently then they will also move down to close the gap. Right now Gates of Madness and Sorrow’s Furnace are 240 points apart and already on Sunday the gap is closing by 70 points.

I expect ArenaNet to let me know how the service I have paid for (and may continue to pay for) will change.

serinetempest, dont forget to mention server transfers that you DH guys received. They came in last week(week 2) of this concurrent 3 week match up. If you compare week one to week two and this the third its evident that it wasnt only a new alliance but an influx of players too.

You guys also have a very strong night presence that GoM, maybe HoD, doesnt have. I’ve had to stay up into the early morning to help defend keeps etc, not much 5-15 can do against 30-50.

below attachments highlight what i mean, look at the time ( est) on the map, very strong presence all day while GoM is good at NA primetime.

The last one makes me think u guys ( DH and HoD) really dont want us in EB, had the same attack split in our GoM BL the other night too.

It don’t matter we are working together that is what matters. Im sorry if your upset that Darkhaven is doing good maybe what you need to do is start being nice to your community in WvW and get together with some of the guilds on your server and try to work out strats. That might help.

So our guild is looking for a new home before paid transfers goes into effect. As much as we love how close our current match-up is, there’s little to no community in T8 and the competitive vibe went out the window when Devona’s Rest and Kaineng zerged their way up the ladder. As unbalanced as those weeks were, we at least had competitive groups we knew we could count on going up against every night.

Rising up the tiers doesn’t really concern us. We’ve witnessed how unbalanced and lopsided some of these match-ups can get, so we’re quite content on hanging around the more balanced lower tiers. What we really want is to find an active community and hopefully a server in this tier that could use a small guild like us. We have about 15 active members and all of us are DAoC vets who prefer roaming in small groups.

What has the balance been like in this tier, and are any of these servers likely to fall or rise out of this tier soon? We’re looking at possibly Darkhaven, or one of the T6 servers.

I’d love it if someone wouldn’t mind PM’ing me some details so we can decide if we want to come here.

For community, my guess is it’s Henge of Denravi (they have an active forum and everything) > Darkhaven > Gates of Madness.

The tier above us has more people and the three guilds there each have alliances (and some of the fun to read drama that goes with that).

If Darkhaven gets more people, I expect them to move out of the tier. The matches were close two weeks ago and they’ve gotten people since.

Kaineng talked a bunch about how great you guys are, so thank you for considering our tier.

Turns out fight club is a ton of fun! Who knew?

I always forget to take screenshots in WvW. It’s very sad.

The only problem the lower tiers have is listening to the upper tiers whine and worry about how bad we supposedly have it.

Do us all a favour and send us gold, clear your conscience, and go on with the rest of your lives.

I say cancel it.. but I am biased and would rather WvW than fight club. I totally sat out the last fight club to WvW, haha.

I agree. These are working how (mostly PvP) GW1 titles worked. Look at Rank 12 Hero and gladiator (and I don’t believe anyone achieved max gladiator since they removed Team Arenas). They’re meant to be very prestigious and difficult to achieve. I don’t know about you but I like it that way.

But there were earlier ranks that you could achieve and display before that. Right now there is nothing before you get 250k kills in WvW and all the WvW titles are like that. The game is 5 months old and not one person that I know of has anything to show that they’ve been in WvW at all title wise.

I’m hoping it’s one of the progression changes that is coming next month.

Only a WvW player jumps at the chance to practice carpentry.

Your prediction is bound to never happen while my prediction is inevitable, at least in regards to some sort of server merger.

No, I don’t think server mergers are inevitable. People keep saying that but while they haven’t added new servers they’ve increased server capacity. I think I read that back even in November they were at 90% capacity for the Karka event.

WvW population has nothing to do with merging, it’s total server population (which includes PvE players) that matters. Besides WvW is still active in the lower tiers, it’s just on a smaller scale. We even hit capacity and had a queue on our borderland last week one evening I was on.

If this really is a problem for many guilds (or maybe it’s just your guild that’s trying to jam a guild into a full server), I don’t understand why they don’t just fill up the tier that isn’t full and make that a “competitive” tier.

Fizzle, I can’t speak for HoD (or GoM if I’m being honest), but as a player on GoM I think you are giving us credit for being way too organized if you think it is remotely possible anyone is sending a ‘spy’ over to sabotage your workings in WvW. If you could see our map/team chat for about 20 seconds you’d realize how unlikely it is we could get someone go to another tower or keep, much less move to another server.

As a darkhaven player on vacation in GoM till sat, I support that statement. I’ve seen their team/map chat and yea…….

Sad that the funnest skirmishes often happen in the JP. What I think WvW needs is more areas/terrain that can be abused by a small group of people to hold back a large zerg. Many of you probably saw the video a couple weeks ago of a party of elementalists holding back a full zerg at a choke.

Problem is, there are very few extended chokes other then at towers/keeps. A lot of the area inbetween (at least on EB) is open fields. There needs to be more pathways that can be held by a small group of people. Zergs would have a choice then, try to force themselves down a small pipe to get to their target, or take the longer/easier route, or split their forces.

Give more areas of the map more meaning.

There’s lots of places other than towers and keeps to hold the maps to hold off bigger groups. The game is filled with cliffs and bends and ramps and doorways.

Only a WvWvW players kills quaggans and doesn’t get sad.
