Been following this for a time now, haven’t been any improvements and in fact they’ve been nerfing every solid build every time there’s a major patch.
The next one on the chopping block will most likely be the FT HGH, just a matter of time. I personally would recommend not bothering until someone over there decides to take this class and the testing of these classes seriously. They need a PTR that’s the only valid way of testing in this genre and until they do that we’ll continue to have this backpedaling.
I’ve been waiting not only for them to actually fix this class so it doesn’t take me 30 hits to kill something but also so I don’t have to switch to a new build with every patch because it costs gold to change everything out. I sure hope someone’s listening over there. My husband logged in tonight and the world looked absolutely dead. Not sure where everyone was but our server had like 1 person in it for the 1 hour he was running around in zones.
One thing that sorta gets to me is that engineer is the only adventurer profession that does have skill that increases their movement speed.
I know that we can use Speedy Kits and get a temporary 5sec swiftness, but it sorta annoying how you keep equipping your kit.
Does anyone else wish the ArenaNet had put a skill that gives engineers a passive 25% movement increase?
They keep on nerfing the weakest class in the game because their crakittenest-dummies they use for combat testing keep telling them that we are overpowered so I doubt very much they’ll actually give this class a faster run speed on-when-out-of-combat trait or skill attached to a kit because that would prolly make us useful in some capacity or make gameplay a little bit easier. Sorry for the sarcasm but it’s been almost a year now and we’ve not seen an improvement on this class.
we were actually supposed to have the option to turn them off at one point or another I remember reading about it in some interview.
We were also supposed to have a very large number of cosmetics both in game and in the store to choose from that didn’t happen.
I wouldn’t hold my breath at this point OP dunno what they’re doing other then the Harlem shake but engineers are not a priority apparently on any front.
Had a similar experience but from a pve only side.
As an engineer I’ve given up hope that they’ll ever A: stop nerfing every good build we have on this severely weakened class B: ever repair what they’ve broken since the second month after launch.
The PVE metas are all boring because done them a million times. The controls on loot are just overcompensating for a seriously problematic TP system that’s not functioned properly and that has been easily manipulated by those with head start economists since headstart.
No new metas = boring really.
Guild runs are an attempt to get people to work together as a guild when the guild system has been a poor design since the beginning as well. While these runs are fun, they definitely haven’t improved the rewards.
They are promising now that they’ll finally separate the code between pve, spvp, and wvw something they should have done since the beginning which would solved alot of trouble for many of the classes including the three weakest and most ignored classes by the balance team, rangers, necros, and engineers. I am not going to hold my breath at this point.
the multiple minigames we were expecting to see in the game still haven’t arrived. There’s almost no mini games in towns, no cosmetic rewards, no fishing.
DR is still in the game, overcompensation for a poor economic design is never a good thing when it comes to virtual money, player driven economies have worked just fine in the past in multiple other mmo’s.
Not at all what I’d expected after waiting thru 2 major patches.
So whenever I see people use medkits, its hardly based around support for other players.
You can make it so you can deploy the things a medkit can do from a range, but the fact it takes up a trait, and the long CDs and small pickup range, it doesn’t seem viable at all.
I was thinking they could make it so that bandages would heal in an aoe for like 50% when you get the trait that allows you to throw them. I would just love to see medkit used in a more support way instead of throwing bandages in front of the player and speed kits.
Thoughts?
Was thinking they could have done alot more with this too. Especially with the kit refinement, making a protective bubble that lasts only 2 seconds wasn’t my idea of an improvement at all.
I was hoping for a second AOE heal or a second drop of just bandages all over the place on top of the supply drop. That would have been more useful.
This is Anet were talking about. They’ve nerfed worst Engineer builds in the past, they’ve nerfed based on fotoshopped third-party screenshots, they’ve nerfed based on stationairy target dummy fights. They’ve nerfed every single patch since launch. They’ve nerfed, nerfed and nerfed without reason for well over 8 months now. What makes anyone think they’d suddenly stop?
This is exactly right. They won’t they don’t care anymore about the three weakest classes and subsequently the least played classes. I’ve been waiting since launch to see some changes and they’ve nerfed engis every single patch while warriors and other favored classes remain untouched and warriors can solo Arah.
“danbuter.2314:
This is why games should NEVER be balanced around PvP."
This is exactly why they should have had separate code for pvp and pve from the very beginning. They’ve broken too much now in Engineering to not take a very long time and more then a two guy resource to actually fix the class.
2 and three second kit refinements aren’t going to fix the inherent issues with this class.
Nothing much will happen. This community is pretty dead at this point.
That’s pretty much my assertion too. Never see anyone, everyone’s still either in LA standing around for a FotM run or rarely seen anyone other then Queens.
Meanwhile people won’t help one another on the forums they’ll tell each other they’re wrong for pointing out the obvious flaws with this balance system they have and nothing will get done and all the while they’ll continue to make cutesie backpacks to sell in the store and warriors will still be able to solo Arah.
I tried the HGH with the FT and was NOT impressed because yet again there was another delay before we could actually build up enough damage to make a difference but not with conditions mind you with our version of burst damage or a hybrid.
<sits in the background waiting to see if they actually notice that three classes are completely discombobulated and weak>
Can’t wait for us to actually be something to complain about that would be nice. Wish they’d either give us heavy armor or return our abilities damage output to the output we saw on the first month just after launch then maybe we’d be close to what we should be. And they still haven’t returned the damage to what it should be from that initial widespread condi nerf we saw just after launch, was one of the first things they did.
I’ll be hangin back in the shadows watching to see when it’s safe to come back.
Keep in mind that ANET is making plans on separating out PvE, WvW, and PvP so I’m not going to really worry coming from the WvW side of things.
I’ve been playing since BWE2 and quite frankly we’ve been promised this since then. I wouldn’t hold my breath honestly.
They told us that they would improve the damage output of Engineers too but that didn’t happen either.
Not from where I’m sitting. Multiple threads pointed out since last patch that the devs just don’t seem to get what Versatility means, because they can’t seem to stop pidgeonholing this class into fewer and fewer choices each major patch. And that there doesn’t seem to be anyone playing engineers on the devs team so suspected favoritism for other classes exist and the real concerns of engineers have not only been completely ignored since launch they’ve actually made many things worse.
some of us have given up entirely on them actually taking a moment to see everything that’s wrong with this class and fixing it.
Please, don’t fool yourself eventually something will click and
you’ll realize like the rest of us
that these tawdry quirks are really poor design decisions. At this point there’s so many tawdry quirks they could open up a tawdry quirk shoppe.
please do not speak for “the rest of us” because I (part of “us,” the community) completely disagree with you.
That’s okay you’ll eventually realize it too.
looping message
Patch Notes some of which never were fixed despite claims and most of which touched on NONE of the real concerns with the weakness of this class.
Looping Message remains solid: If they gave a kitten they’d do something about the real concerns of this class and they’d really fix it instead of claiming to and allowing the same bugs or game design flaws to plague it. “There we put out a patch note saying we fixed it, that proves we totally fixed it! Do you think they’ll notice it’s still there? Nah, they’ll be too busy having to fight things three times longer then any other class and trying to figure out just how they should be specced after we’ve destroyed the rest of their tiny few pvp builds they keep posting to the forums.”
nakoda, I and others like the OP reported this just after launch last year, they have yet to fix it, they claimed falsely that they fixed it in the patch notes for feb 2013. It’s still occurring. They have shown me that they really just don’t give a rats butt about engineers in this game so many of us left.
I returned to the forums tonight to find out how last month’s patch was received. I can see that my predictions were well founded. At this rate they might maybe improve this class to the state it should be in it’s first expansion (altho i highly doubt it)
actually, three patches ago they fixed the hit detection on rectangular aoe, which included the ft, and last patch they finally fixed the stationary objects bug. there are many threads discussing this. try a search.
the only remaining problem is going up and down slopes when you have auto aim disabled (fires straight into the hill).
you’ve said the exact same thing in three posts now, and, soz, but you are wrong.
no actually as usual there was a claim that they fixed this and when that patch was discussed at length many of us posted the truth that it was disappointing because it was still happening.
when it’s still happening it’s not fixed.

Every Engineer I come across, most of the time via grouping for dungeon or something.. They’re always so grumpy! They’re never in a good mood, and usually have more harsh personalities than I’d prefer. Sure, I’m not little ms sunshine. Not at all actually… but have some fun you get two engis in your party you should be like kewl! We have a better chance at failing now! or something :P for jokes
Eh, another rant.Sorry
Spsssh maybe if they took this class seriously it might perk some people up a bit but my 1 month hiatus and predictions for their lack of concern last month was well deserved, they obviously didn’t do a thing to help our situation.
begs the question, yet another new bug or a new stealth nerf?
Looks like my predictions were correct. So glad I didn’t waste my time hoping.
Its all subjective. Many of the quirks that some hate about the engy are the very reason i love the class.
Just play what you enjoy.
Please, don’t fool yourself eventually something will click and you’ll realize like the rest of us that these tawdry quirks are really poor design decisions. At this point there’s so many tawdry quirks they could open up a tawdry quirk shoppe.
@Chaith
For everyone saying we didn’t get all our bug fixed, and didn’t get exactly what we wanted. I agree Arena Net usually overlooked us and some other classes bug.But this time, I don’t think we have anything to whine about.
Then you’re not paying attention. It’s been how many months since launch with the same exact problems since BWE2 that they have yet to touch. At this rate they’ll have a new expansion and it will still not be fixed. And I don’t care if this is a game or not or fantasy or not if you can’t follow basic physics when you write code there’s a problem with your programming staff, either get rid of them or fix the problem. Numerous problems with skill behaviors on land, problems with DPS, problems with turrets and kit skills they had three months imo to get things right, they failed end of story. I’m sorry that some of you guys want to hold onto this and keep hoping, i wish you the best but at some point this get’s so bad that the rest of us just can’t handle anymore delays… or anymore insults to our intelligence. It gets old fast…
That’s the thing, Anet is not encouraging us to swap kits, they want us to stay in 1 kit and make builds around that 1 kit.. at least that’s what it feels like.. a dev official response should be nice
That’s not versatility that’s pidgeonholing which pretty much goes along with their new November 2012 revised manifesto, I wasted $60 bucks on this game and it’s sad. Guess it’s time to truly move on. Bye all, have fun fighting uphill.
LOL! now this was awesome, pretty much sums it up too. Delete all characters across all realms as an elite was a nice touch!
So I’ve had a chance to play around with the changes and have to say there’s still alot that’s bothering me. Particularly dealing with physics.
Here’s what I’m seeing:
- Kit refinement: too many changes to some of the skills. I like how the FT, and MK were changed but some of the abilities when switching should have been left alone like the Toolkit, it makes the caltrops so much easier to access when you can temp switch to that kit and back again while running off. The other thing that bothered me was the way they did these abilities on these kits. They literally barely last 2 seconds notably on the ones that should take a while like the EG glue effect, supposed to spill while you’re running away has a total of three small globs. Really? who’s going to actually run directly behind someone like that when chasing them in WvW? The time for these definitely need to be increased to at least 5-7 seconds. Seriously.
- The randomness is still there for many a thrown elixir despite the change to the one they listed. Doesn’t really help with planning if you don’t know what the power will do.
- 20 seconds is a little extreme for these abilities methinks that someone over there is one of those people who tries to fix problems that aren’t broken yet and jumped the gun just like they did with the grenade nerf. Wait until it’s actually tested by the players and you get feedback on it before making such a drastic change and you’ll notice that there will be less flaming in the forums in the future.
- physics for many a weapon/kit is still not accurate. Grenades still fly as slowly as the pistol shots, pistol shots still fire as slowly as the Rifles, rifles and pistols haven’t been given improved damage output to give them at the very least the same base damage that the kits have so they are worthless pretty much, not to mention the repairs to the condition damage still have not occurred on this class which would help it tremendously.
- Turrets still die entirely too quickly, tested the thumper to see the changes and I like that it stuns but it shouldn’t die from two hits from a regular troll at level 80. That’s just wrong.
So basically, they did make some positive changes but the overall is still nerfed to the point of why-bother-fighting-an-uphill-battle-both-ways-while-carrying-chains. It’s like they know somethings wrong but no one over there is getting the point of just what they should be fixing and why, and what we keep seeing is an attempt at fixing things that really aren’t that big of a problem while things that are essential are being neglected entirely.
Didn’t see anything about non kit builds. Are they still not viable?
For a while there that’s actually what I was using because I couldn’t use kits, i couldn’t use elixirs so I was stuck using a rifle charge build. We’ll see what this is like now tho.
I am definitely pleasantly surprised. I may have to login to check this out sometime today. I love the utility on the kit refinement, that does look like it’s much better and will make for a few better builds.
I also like that they changed some of the elixirs.
When was the last time you did anything at all on that island? I personally haven’t visited it once in ~3 months.
Been about the same amount of time for me since I haven’t been playing for about 2 months now since they can’t seem to do anything positive with my class Engineer much less with the meta system in the game. Been waiting on new ones since launch but nothing yet.
Thought south cove was going to be the new meta center but apparently not.
Patch day is almost with us again, so enjoy your current engineer builds before they get ineptly nerfed in the scorched earth approach the devs take to targeting some random facet of engineer that actually works okay and carpet bombing the entire skillset it resides in from orbit.
HGH & any boon stacking/spiking builds have to be concerned about what the boonhate changes will mean for them. Changes designed to make builds that stack boons easier to kill, aimed at bunkers but probably affecting dps builds too as it’s hard to separate the two. We have very few details about what this will entail though. Likely these changes will affect all classes, but the past shows that any classwide changes won’t get engineer specific counter balance changes that other more populated classes might get.
100nades is almost definitely going to be nuked into the dust of history, because no engineer should be allowed to burst anything like other classes, e.g. thief, even if it’s massively more complex to operate and has far less survivability. All because one time at band camp a dev’s second cousin saw a photo-shopped picture of 24k damage. You’d need a planetary alignment to get that against an upscaled level 7 player in WvW. Theif, mes, warrior would probably burst far harder in same circumstances. With the devs past record for maladriot engineer changes that are far more deadly cures than the disease ever was, let’s hope they don’t break grenade kit in the process.
Slick shoes and elixir R were also mentioned at the same time as 100nades, so inept heavyhanded nerfs may be coming for the few people who use those.
Kit refinement will be getting another pass. Considering how asinine the last kit refinement change was, the equivalent of curing a patients headache by shooting them in the forehead with a high caliber pistol, multikitters have every right to be be scared of this change.
On the plus side, they have some awesome boosts in store for us. e.g. thumper turrets will now be able to cripple, so expect all 5 people who use thumper turret to be overjoyed.
Exactly my thoughts at this point. We’ll see tho I’m definitely not holding my breath.
I’m just hanging out to see if they’ll do what I have sadly started to predict every time there’s a major patch for engineers…..nothing or worse then nothing, nerfing the only things left that work right. Curiosity honestly at this point. Can’t imagine them taking them seriously at this point and really can’t imagine them fixing the self CC and serious physics issues they’ve had since launch.
I think that’s what our label should read.
Elementalist – King of Versatility
Warrior – King of Survivability
Engineer – King of self CC
Colin Johanson has mentioned his Engineer multiple times.
I honestly think he plays that just to see what’s going on with the class or a second to his main, a warrior.
I remember them saying when they go tours they play with a team of 5 Engineers many times
This is the problem. Five engineers is OP. They need to try to solo roam in WvWvW or in a mixed group as the single engineer.
It would also explain why they believe Engineers to be so versatile. It’s easy for an Engineer to fulfill all roles in a fight when there are 5 of them; But solo on the fly, they’re just as pigeon holed as other classes.
Again not compared to other classes. That’s the point of the complaints it always has been the engineer is low on dps, is second on versatility, it’s cannot tank as well at the other classes, it cannot heal as well as the other classes, so exactly what is left what exactly makes this class shine? Nothing. It’s just an afterthought and that’s the problem. and it seriously shows in every aspect of the game.
Here’s a class that doesn’t follow basic physics that doesn’t shine any particular section of combat and because of that it’s often discriminated against in dungeons and forced to take extraordinary measures to be able to do the most basic things when in fact, if you look at the class from a common sense standpoint, it shouldn’t struggle at all, it has the most militant of weapons so it should have the best dps out of any of the classes, it has the closest thing to science that any game like this can come to in regards to elixirs so it should shine at healing and certainly should never have to deal with randomness that makes absolutely no sense. (it would be like asking a RL marine to use a bandage and have a random effect which may or may not heal the person)
It’s just too wonky and too chaotic, and no I’m not saying it’s easy to balance but surely they can put more people on it to actually make an effort because they really haven’t made any effort from where I’m sitting.
I’m a bit bored this afternoon, and I was wondering : Do we have someone from Anet staff playing Engineer?
Jon Peters seems to play mesmer,
1-2 other dev are playing thief and warriors,
Robert Hrouda plays Ranger,
ect..I was wondering, does anyone remember if we have some dev playing our classe? The only thing I remember, is they stated they once played a 5 man engineer team in sPvP “as a joke team”. Wasn’t cool.
I’m also wondering because of how they nerfed kit refinement in the worse way, saying it was too strong for an adept trait yet we don’t have any good master/GM trait. Also how a dev took 10 minutes to debug our medkit trait and didn’t seem to know about it, while it was bugged since release and well known.
On the other side, I also think it quit cool to have a dev following the class and reacting to bug/demands. When mesmer had trouble with clone, Jon Peter would communicate with them all day long and day to day debug. Also Robert Hrouda have a really good communication with the ranger forum, and share tweaks and resolve bugs with them. I love that guy
Do we have a silent dev roaming with an engineer and cursing turrets?
What do you think guys?
P.S : I’m bored this post doesn’t have any real points. And I know most class doesn’t have a dedicated Dev.
P.S 2 : Maybe we can send a cake to Robert Hronda like necromancer to convince him to play an engineer.
If that’s the case it explains ALOT! really it does, it lets us know how little they care. No one there has our back. the only testing that’s being done is the none PTR testing that isn’t really known for accuracy. And no one (in charge) is playing this class long enough and regular enough to realize just how little they got right with it.
I’m hanging out in the ether even tho I’ve resolved that they probably will never learn, but curious to see just what happens next.
I can tell you now tho, tired of everyone saying it shouldn’t be a powerful class, it should definitely be a powerful class, because of the type of weapons (kits) it uses but it keeps getting nerfed so that the dev favorites remain the strongest. That’s not balance I hate to tell you folks but it’s not. True balance means you nerf your favorites when it’s OP no matter how you feel about your favorite. That’s one of the reasons people like me are driven away, we got tired of playing a engi ranger or necro and getting shafted by the devs apathy towards our class but watched while other classes were able to keep their relative OP sense to the extent of being able to solo 5 man content and survive. They’ve got a long way to go to get us back.

There was a time, right up to around launch, that I had full confidence in this company as well. Everything they did, not just spoke about, indicated that they were keen advocates for their players and were doing everything in our best interests.
However, in the months since, the decisions they’ve made have made it clear to me that player enjoyment no longer was a priority. It’s as if some Wormtongue is whispering treasonous notions into their ears as they sleep, and those ideas are being thrown into the game without any thought.
Personally, I don’t have much of a problem with game bugs or technical weaknesses. I can live with those. It’s the actual decisions on how things should work in the game that I find abhorrent. ArenaNet has consistently succeeded in driving wedges into their player base, fracturing us with design mechanics that could so easily have been inclusive rather than exclusive.
The most recent example is the guild missions, which clearly have caused no end of anger and consternation with a huge cross-section of players. It would have been so easy to avoid this, but ArenaNet made a conscious decision to go forward with it anyway. That tells me they are either clueless as to what affect these types of mechanics are going to have on their players, or they just don’t care. That’s a long way from the company I remember from the months and years prior to release, who seemed to have their finger squarely on the pulse of their target audience and knew exactly what we were wanting from a game.
Frankly, it feels like completely different team from the one that got me hooked on the game with nothing more than a design manifesto. This one is not only out of touch with their community, but is borderline incompetent.
So yes, I would say that I no longer trust them. I’m not even sure who the hell they are anymore.
The best way to put it imo. Wormtongue is an awesome touch btw.
That’s my problem with this whole thing, It’s all post launch decisions on ideals that are completely opposite of what we were all told in interviews and discussions with developers for years prior to launch.
Everything since has been completely against the original design of the game and the intent spoken by the developers. The money grabs (because seriously I just don’t accept that it took them 4 months to find a “kill credit” bug) the lack of content, the content of the kind that is 180 from their original plans, the lack of concern for the three weakest class players, the complete disregard of the crafters post Exotic, the ongoing problem of getting enough T6 materials for exotic gear much less the Legendaries. It’s not looking good imo.
Anyone not paying money to the gem store is a free loader, paying gamers are still subsidising your game play, I still think paying customers are better than you.
Actually, not quite.
The subtle reality is that your so-called “free loaders” are providing a service to the game company. They are providing “user-generated content” that makes the game more attractive and entices “big spenders” to spend liberally. In exchange, the game company provides them “free” entertainment.
Sorry you’re wrong. There is no user generated content in this title. Simply joining a group is not content creation. The only games that have that have a foundry system. Unless AN makes a foundry program for user created DE’s players are not creating content at all, they are using the content.
Because ArenaNet takes months to make simple and obvious changes but makes knee-jerk changes that break builds on a moment’s notice.
Don’t fix bugged/underpowered traits/skills. Break functional ones. Ignore OP ones. Build variety is shrinking. However, they do add some ‘flavor-of-life’ changes that are just nice to have but generally aren’t significant.
That seems to be the summary of what I’ve seen in their patches so far. It’s why I have trust issues at this point.
Maybe it was smelling you? Time for a shower?
Seriously though, that would be nice balance for stealth… if Ranger’s pets could sort of “smell” you.The elephant in the room tried this, it didn’t work. MMO history ftw.
And the elephant also implemented stealth at all.
Didn’t work there either.
Just like everyone else that tried it.
Actually they’ve kept stealth as it was since the beginning, and it worked just fine. Limiting stealth the way this game has done doesn’t actually work and causes more problems then it fixes.
Maybe it was smelling you? Time for a shower?

They did it to help thieves level stealth-based builds.
Without the change, your target would begin to reset every time you stealthed.
That’s partially what I’m seeing however now that they fixate it actually can cause mobs to endlessly keep you in combat status and trust me that was bad enough before.
Its a shame a nerf intended for wvw hits the pve players :-/
Exactly where is our separation of pvp and pve coding? What happened to that? I thought that was a thing 2 months after launch.
Hopefully the March patches will fix this.
You know at this point 6 months later that should not be the mantra we chant. It’s time for a change and it’s not going to happen so long as some people continue with the illusion that everything is perfectly fine with this game as I’ve seen in every post pointing out major flaws both with testing and with the patches. These people need to stop posting nonsense that everything is working properly and start helping those of us actively trying to improve the gameplay for everyone.
3) The devs have a tendency of giving out no information, or worse, wrong and conflicting information. We’ve been told that the precursor system was actively being worked on, and then Colin comes along to tell us that it’s not even likely to happen until April (at the earliest). Colin comes along and talks about how they’re working on new rewards systems that could yield precursors (getting people’s hopes up that the laurel system would have some manner of obtaining them) and then backtracks on it within days. We’re told that the devs are working on condition damage, and yet not working on it. That culling will be fixed, and then a patch comes out and makes it worse. That AoE will be nerfed across the board, and yet on a case-by-case basis. I don’t feel as though I can trust the developers themselves any more, because they don’t say the same things, and some of the claims they do make are later revealed to be outright false or misleading.
I stopped trusting them in November. Sure they did improve things slightly with the guaranteed rares and the ability to get a few powerful blood with the new RNG chest that costs laurels to purchase but really, they have broken too many things to actually trust them. #3 in your list showed this the most eloquently so I quoted that.
We were told that they didn’t want to harm legit farmers as well and when i pointed out to them how they were harming the legit farmers, when they reduced the rewards from meta events to mere blues, they suddenly had a concern when they had 6 threads all talking about the lack of loot. It became a movement.
There’s too many examples like this to go into detail. they continue to tell us they are working on class problems yet we see hardly any real fixes to the core problems we face in the three weakest classes of the game, two of which are Adventurer classes which cannot fulfill the third in the AN new trinity, DPS.
There’s so much that doing 2 simple things would solve most of the problems with this title in 1 month but i see no evidence that they even realize what doing something about these issues would solve.
PTR
removing DR entirely
These two things would completely turn this game around, but I believe there’s too much pride involved to admit that the old methods of doing things in mmo’s are the best ways because they’ve been well tested and time honored. They provide solutions that QC of this game just cannot seem to get a handle on right now.
I completely agree with you critic but it’s going to take something drastic for them to listen I’m afraid. Just look how long it took them to fix the loot issue and even then they still haven’t provided us with a quality means of collecting the T6 mats to craft with.
It didn’t change anything for me :/ I still dropped some green craps from Jormag’s claw 5 mins ago, and I mostly drop Porous bones and white in Orr…
Definitely bug report that! our diligence is the only thing that will keep them informed!
It is so nice to finally see that the guaranteed drops are having a positive impact on the economy. Exotics are no longer 4-5 gold a piece and you can actually buy exotics and rares for 30 silver a pop.
Thanks Anet for your diligence in changing this problem and allowing players to get rewarded for their time in Tyria.
Hopefully this will repair this economy once and for all.
Just a rough thought that came into my head. I think every week/(insert time frame) a member of a guild does -not- change representation to a different one, the guild (and maybe the member) should be rewarded. Guild commendations maybe?
Currently the system seems favoured to… for lack of a better term… slu-ahem social butterflies.
I agree wholeheartedly. what I’d do is change the gear acquisition in this game to that of guilds. That way the best gear is always achieved by being in a guild and by being in a guild that frequently is active.
STO did this and it’s the best system. no more required gameplay in a certain way, everyone can solo events and instances and get the guild currency. Once the guilds reach a certain project level the gear becomes available.
cuts out all the problems i’ve ever experienced in any mmo regarding gear acquisition.
I chose TC because of a guild but once i found out it’s the unofficial RP server i was delighted because people who RP are simply the best community ever.
It’s sad that guesting is disturbing the peace now. We don’t need immature transplants to start griefing and trolling all over the place.
There is no hope for the human race.
People actually complain about better rewards? Lmao.
You gonna cry at work when you get a raise for working the same amount of hours, doing the same job?No. Just no. End thread.
Yes end it here and now, if you do not agree with the new reward system for events DO NOT do them simple as that. But since when did rares become an issue exotics still are not all that common. Now Please Please just erase this discussion, I have not felt so strongly against a post much less felt a need to log into the forums since the Karka event….
Exactly. How many times did they tell us that about Fractals?? If you don’t like dragon events you don’t have to do them fractal advocates.
I repeat, do not listen to these people Devs, Tyria’s Great Depression is officially over, once people catch up the mobs will calm down, there’s absolutely no need to fix what ain’t broke.
All these people saying that the stats on Ascended don’t matter will be the first ones to complain when the new dungeons come out requiring Agony resistance on a full set of ascended to even SEE the new content. They’ve already said it’s coming.

I agree we worked and worked with them to remove the DR and the crappy drops and now some people who obviously wanna keep control over the messed up excuse of an economy we have now want DR implemented again?! two words
NO WAY
If you guys want to manipulate the market for easy gold you’re going to have to find a better way and actually work for it now, the loot system was bad enough before, and the Devs should not allow a few early launchers to manipulate them into making the loot go backwards to a time when 50% of the population of this game received nothing for their time easy or not.
You know and here’s another problem. None of the dungeoneers had a single problem with this title when the Devs made almost all of the loot drop in Fractals but now that people are culminating in areas to try to catch up from what was effectively Tyria’s Great Depression NOW everyone has a problem with it.
Sorry not buying it.

If that make you feel better, rangers are even worse.
It’s ok we can have meetings where we sit in circles, pat on our back and talk about how anet hates us. Free food on sundays.
no necros allowed
at least rangers can stack up dozens of bleeds by the second so rangers just need high condi builds.
they do better with poison and burn then we do as well. my ranger 43 in a 40 zone with low level gear can three shot everything with traps, try doing that on my engi with grenades all exotics all condi gear and specced for it, not gonna happen no way.
The juggernaut nerf was justified atleast, on demand stability with no cd.. i mean come on, was fun as long as it lasted though..
what you mean in a class that may or may not get stability have the time with regular abilities? yeah that was poetic justice when we could use it CD or not.
The no one helps others thing, already happening. Dunno how many times people already expect that to happen and just port to a wp. It must be a thing or people would not be doing this. I’m one of the few people left who like you wouldn’t hesitate to res someone who’s down and I’ve noticed this happening more and more.
I have to say I don’t think it’s going to get better because if your report is true (which i don’t doubt btw) then that means that between that and the design flaw that requires a certain level of DPS to get credit for the event or for loot to drop and the higher the dps the better the loot, doesn’t really make for a good support system does it. They definitely need to completely redesign these two aspects if they expect people to play anything other then burst zerger warriors and thieves who do nothing but dps while everyone dies around them and repops.
