Engineer Gadgets: Chime in!

in Engineer

I only use 1 gadget and that’s due to it being one of the few toolbelt items that has less then a 30 second cooldown.

The cooldowns on some of these items in this class are just outrageously long and need serious adjustment.

I used to use goggles for example but it actually has a longer cooldown then the ramhead and is less useful in pve considering you can cc anthing that does knockbacks so they never reach you and knocking back the enemy before they can stun you is very satisfying.

Why you are always nerfing Engineers?

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Couldn’t disagree more.

  • They’ve made it to where sigils and weapon damage accumulate into kit damage.
  • They’ve changed the Flamethrower from a tank kit into a Might-stacking damage dealing kit (which can really get quite ridiculous with 25 Might and 25 Bloodlust).
  • They’ve increased the Healing Power coefficient for Healing Turret and now Super Elixir (the previous “nerf” was actually a fix).
  • They’ve made Flame Blast much easier to use as PBAoE DPS
  • Flame Jet now gets a flat 10% damage increase any time your target is burning (i.e., 100% of the time if you’re with an Ele and Guard).

Some people may be unhappy, but the FT/EG build has simply gotten stronger month by month. It’s now gotten to the point where I may just drop Kit Refinement and run 10-20 points in Inventions since Super Elixir works better with Cleric’s/Healing Power now.

1. It must worked from the release, coz it’s obvious things.
2. Lol, stop dreaming, theorycrafter. I’ve tryed Sup Sigil of Strenght with the Juggernaut trait and, you kow… it’s impossible to stack more than 10-12 stacks of Might. Dreamer ^^
3. It was a obvious bug – regen from HT healed by… 5 (FIVE!) HP! Lol! EG#5 still useless.
4. Wow, you will use FT only for #2? Wanna see that
5. Even with 5 elems and guards FT dps still too low. And if remeber about retaliation and about Omnomberry nerf – usinf FT is really dangerous.

Stop dreaming and login to game and come to the WvW at the high tiers. You will be wondered about Engineer “strengh”, I promise.

Couldn’t disagree more with Phaneas.

Those items didn’t fix a thing.
1: Sure we can use sigil damage but it hardly makes up for what they’ve taken, nowhere near the damage that grenades have lost in any sense. Do you hit multiple mobs with multiple lightning bolts from sigil of air? Me neither and sigil of fire doesn’t even do enough damage to come close to what grenades lost. And don’t get me started on how grenades fly faster, do more damage, and have the proper explosive radius and tab target underwater like they should on land for the #1 skill. Physics much?

2: does not work, try keeping a stack of 20 might at all times, you’ll be drinking potions like a lush at a family reunion.

3: Actually they nerfed the one ability that gave us an actual heal. Imagine that a supposed bug was actually making a healing skill actually heal properly on this character. Now +healing doesn’t do squat to anything anymore, and please tell me again how it helps to have a regen get a minor buff from the healing turret? We need less regen more direct heals and we need them to actually scale with our +healing otherwise you might as well call it something other then support.

4: They did make flame blast easier to use, I’ll give you that one. However how many skills like this one don’t cause burning on an engineer that specializes in explosions and fiery blasts? We’re supposed to take it for granted that nothing we do no matter how hot or fiery or explosive will cause burning, that we’re supposed to trait into it and it have a longer cooldown then the effect (without runes of course). Like i said before, physics.

5: The omnom berry nerf is just the limit imo. They should not be playing around with food buffs, engineers had to use those more then any other class to actually keep ourselves alive because of the crappy way this class has been handled since launch.

Here’s a little history for you. We were never meant to be an adventurer class, originally we were supposed to wear heavy armor.

When they changed the class over to a medium adventurer class they failed to relook at the traits to make them on par with thief and ranger so we don’t have 1 out of the three roles in the AN trinity, DPS.

They failed to look at the skills and how they work together in a support role so we end up with far too many overlapping regens only 1 of which is affected in a minor way by +healing and then nerfed the 1 direct healing ability that actually worked properly. there goes support.

so what’s left. CC.

See the problem there?

I’ve pretty much given up. Maybe in a year they’ll recognize the glaring issues in this class but I doubt it will be in 2013 at this point.

Engineer
Stow Med Kit: Now works in PvE.
Elixir U: Quickness is now consistent at 5 seconds.
Acid Bomb: This ability is now a blast finisher at the start of the ability.
Super Elixir: Now detonates properly underwater.
Super Elixir: Increased impact base healing as well as scaling with healing power by 100%. Increased base heal multiplier by 50% and healing power scaling by 100%.
Flame Blast: This ability is now able to be detonated by a secondary ability.
Flame Blast Detonate: This new ability will detonate the napalm ball that is launched by Flame Blast.
Air Blast: This ability now extends burning duration of enemies that are already burning by 2 seconds.
Flame Jet: This ability now deals an extra 10% damage to burning enemies.
Pry Bar: Increased the number of confusion applications from three to five and increased duration of confusion from 3 to 5 seconds.
Tool Kit: Abilities that heal turrets have had their potency increased by 100%.
Kit Refinement: This trait now has an internal cooldown of 10 seconds globally for Flamethrower, Elixir Gun, Grenade Kit, and Tool Kit.

kit refinement internal cooldown globally is pretty hard nerf..

IMO everything is a junk buff and they gave us a huge nerf on kit refinement

I feel the same way. Where is our 10 second across the board cooldown on toolbelt skills? Where is our ability to have the 25% out of combat run speed despite being changed at the last minute to an adventurer class? Where are the fixes to both the slow speed and lack of dps the pistol puts forth? When can we see the fixes to the grenade kit (ie that #1 would tab target, that the speed and radius would be consistant with a longsword in any other class, that the flight speed be as fast as what it’s like underwater, yeah it’s actually faster underwater).

I like that they worked a little bit on FT however cone attacks of all three kinds still miss on my character because they are STILL based on the viewing camera position rather then the character position.

They need more then two people balancing the classes if that’s truly the amount of people they have working on these design flaws. Do us a favor, follow the system that every other mmo krewe has ever done in the past and hire some temp contractor help to completely destroy these design flaws/bugs in this class so that it won’t be a whole year before we finally see the class finally be treated as an equal citizen in Tyria. and please get a PTR seriously we need a PTR

It’s getting tiresome. Really.

How popular is GW2?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Because Anet does not keep their word and changes everything all the time .

I really feel i can not even trust theses devs anymore they make just horriable chioces in which way this game is going.

I watched 13 people leave my guild tonite to back to our old game because of broken promises and by tomm i expect to see more if that happens i will have no choice to follow.

Just to many broken promises Anet just to many.

Counting the days to Neverwinter man, know the feeling. Last patch lost the GM the founded my guild because his main is a necro, I’m an engi and even we arent suffering as much as the necros are right now sheesh.

I would not doubt it if we lost quite a few people simply because they didn’t use a PTR to properly test this patch and reset the dailies multiple times, people in my guild and on my server were all enraged. When it reset for me right before I could finish I just plain logged out I was so disgusted.

Why are those other games more popular? Somewhere along the way after launch AN lost their connection to the public, Not sure why but they did. They’ve been making decisions as if none of them have ever played an mmo before both in regards to the way the game is designed overall and with implementing things that history should tell them would fail miserably because other gaming companies have tried those very same things only to alienate their own players.

Hard Rez Skills Not Being Used?

Ok, so here is a link to the wiki of the skills that revive characters directly: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Revive#Skills_that_revive_allies

Does anyone ever really use these? I have watched carefully and tried to use my own (Illusion of Life = Mesmer here), and I rarely see any of these skills being used.

But I’m just one person. Do any of you use these skills regularly, or see someone else use them?

Noticed right away that there are exactly 0 traits for enhanced rez for engineers but we’re supposed to believe that we are only made for CC, support. (because DPS is out of the question in pve) Also, there’s only 1 ability to help downed players for engis, no rez. So, we’ve got a whole lota nothing happening here. Can we get better healing, more direct heals fewer regens, better traits on the engi for support and dps please? Can we have a complete class at long last please?

Yeah the cooldowns on some of these are horrendous, the engi that only works on downed players not dead ones takes an enormous amount of time all by itself.

LETS ALL PLAY WARRIORS (/evil laugh) . Because seemingly its the only class which Anet considers worth of beeing actually working. 1 Tank warrior, 1 Banner warrior and 3 GS warriors to do 11 million damage a second. Perfect in my opinion!

I dont really get why did they even need to add 7 more classes if you have a warrior lulz.

Nah i rarely rage but screw this… not a single freaking fix to any of class in more than 6 months. This must be somekind of record isint it?

I wonder then ’ this is still new game , give them time ’ will stop to be excuse for not doing anything to fix the major game problems..

Why have a whole party, a single warrior can do one of the hardest explores solo. Seriously look it up on youtube, I’d link it but it has the guys id and we can’t id players with links.

Oh and the warrior can easily win in pvp, it’s called the rifle sniper build.

Two things wrong with this.

1: we now don’t have an alternative to the formula 409 with food

2: running is going to be a bigger pain now (it was bad enough that an adventurer class has to actually use an ability and trait for faster travel speed but now we have to wait on cooldowns, anyone else see the problem here?)

Flamethrower is still not worth the slot

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

I tested flamethrower again. Few things:

1) It’s MUCH more intuitive – I was able to hit with everything fairly well and only the auto attack seemed weird.

2) The autoattack range still doesn’t match up with animation – My flames STILL hit, but I “miss” the target.

3) This is inferior in damage to Bomb and Grenade kit. This is a low skill and less damage version of those two kits. It really shouldn’t be a kit for people who can’t handle harder kits. Make it what it really should be: Point defense. Give skill 2 less damage and a knock back. Making this a mid range damage kit makes it inferior to other damage kits.

4) Skill 4 and 5 still feel out of place. I understand how to use them, but it feels like a stretch.

5) The 10% vs burning is too minimal. I honestly didn’t even notice it.

Overall: You still have to work way harder with this kit for less of an effect than other kits. Make it a CC kit.

Completely agree! the miss thing still happens with me has been since the last patch they told us it was fixed in.

5 should be an AOE black powder effect not a 1 second puff of cigarette smoke.

the enhancement to 4 is nice but doesn’t really help when as engineers most of our attacks have a really short burn duration when if we looked at the real physics of these weapons they all should provide burning short of regular rifle bullets. (why do we have to trait to burn again? shouldn’t that be intuitive? and why does the burn occur at the end of the #1 cycle, as soon as the flames touch the enemy they should be burning refreshing the burn until the end just like the poison dart shots do with poison).

Kit refinement skill....revised and tested

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

I understand why they did it. No other class can switch weapons as quickly (oh wait elementalists) and get the benefit of their “on switch” procs. (oh wait; elementalists attunment bonuses) so it was really rebalancing us with other classes use of on-weapon-switch sigils.

Loved this part btw. Exactly how i feel every single time they try to overcompensate for sigils on this class.

I dunno why I bother playing anymore honestly. I am happy they increased the damage of kits but condis are still nerfed, cones still miss (tried mine tonight again) and turrets are still useless and stationary. Oh well.

History Repeats (killing the golden goose?)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

I think you’ve hit a nail on the head however it’s not just the new guild system that’s the problem. I too come from a background of multiple mmo’s and have watched the team on this title one by one ignore the basics of mmo history as-it-were.

Each update, each control mechanism introduced has already been tried and has already been shown to fail miserably. Some of the items they’ve introduced have even shut down whole companies because these companies were new, made a game, and decided to artificially restrict the loot and currency (DR). They too publically broadcasted that this was to prevent Gold Farmers from affecting the economy and I watched these games slowly die off and close shop because the Devs didn’t listen to the community and realize that it was them not the gold farmers that were destroying their in game economy thus killing the fun for many players and making them leave the game en masse. Most recently it happened in D3 however Blizzard caught it just in time and made the appropriate changes to keep the remaining players.

This is only one example of the problems with this game due to mismanagement of resources and restrictions.

The list of problems I’ve seen so far are:

  1. live team disregarding original manifesto and ignoring the quicker easier cheaper content infusion engine we heard about years prior to launch, the DE meta system.
  2. lack of proper quality control, ie no PTR to properly test bugs prior to patch launch
  3. serious lack of UI elements most mmo gamers find easily in just about every other mmo of any design or profit model (ie LFG tool[necessary now with their new dungeon focus], “last online” in guild roster, guildwide/personal calendar, egg timer, alarm clock, LFguild system, non-cosmetic guild gear [usually the biggest success because it provides a sense of pride and projects the guild works on to get the best gear in the game])
  4. lack of prelaunch promises kept (ie mobile app, web app, lottery, mini-games)
  5. allocation of resources necessary to completely squash the bugs in the weakest classes, enhance pet AI, and repair the design flaws of the weakest classes in the game.

We’ve asked multiple times what they’d do about these issues, really haven’t received very many answers which leads me to believe that they really aren’t concerned.

When the game launched I had a 3 full page post of ui enhancements they could have used in their suggestions forums to bring the ui of this game up to the current century and I was not alone in this others put out long lists of their own in the very same forums, but they were drowned out most likely by those who wanted yet another WoW like dungeon only lobby game element added to this title.

RNG is good!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

I don’t have a problem with RNG to be honest, but I do not like RNG+DR. They work really bad together.

I think that’s where most people would agree. I would agree with you on this as well.

However there are some things that should definitely not be as rare as they are. They might as well be labeled Legendary for all intents and purposes for finding them due to this RNG + DR + killcredit bug. I had hoped they had learned that people need three things to make gear and that they shouldn’t be forced to spend hours teleporting from place to place trying to get enough of these items to make a set of armor runes etc.
Three things they should have sold in the Laurel vendor directly (no RNG chests) are powerful blood, Onyx Lodestone, and Gossamer Scraps. These items are the worst items to find in game, one can easily get endless silk but no one can convince me that silk is what all Orrians wore including the nobles, gimme a break.

First PUG dungeon, party kick at boss

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Saw this in STO when they first implemented kicking. You’d get to the final boss and if it’s timed properly you could actually kick a number of people at once and get the loot for yourself because the chest wouldn’t register for the other people in the party making the whole ordeal a waste of time. They finally had to give the dungeons an autoloot function so that people would receive their loot despite this happening. No chests involved.

I too am very sorry you had to deal with that.

This is one of the many reasons many like me were so against having this type of system in the game where dungeons were the focus of everything including loot, gear, currency. It breeds a poor community. WoW was particularly bad about this throughout it’s entire lifetime (still is according to friends who still play). Even when they added the LFG cross server system to form groups it became even worse because since people would more likely be added from other servers you’d never see the ninjas or bad attitudes again after being kicked.

Actually this is not true and is something we are actively looking at. We have a number of solutions that we are talking about and when we are able to figure out which one will have the least impact on balance, performance, and testing we will put that solution in place as soon as possible.

Jon

While it’s good to hear you’re doing something…you’re still TALKING about solutions? 6 months this system has been broken, seriously week 1 there were plenty of threads about how condition builds get screwed due to caps. You should be well passed talking about solutions and testing them. And please! For the love of all that’s holy get a PTS server going so we can test this and any other class changes faster as well as make sure your logic isn’t flawed like the current condition system.

Quaggan back packs and holiday events take priority

It still baffles me that they don’t have a PTS

Been preaching the same thing for months now. Thanks you guys for noticing the same thing. It’s so very needed especially for class balance issues, they’d eliminate so many headaches from surprise nerf patches and mistakes like they’ve made with grenade kits — sigils for example.

I’d put in there a metric butt-ton of nothing but cosmetic items that don’t require one of those fine transmutation stones, and I’d adjust the Hero screen to have multiple outfits that would visually override the character’s armor. (Included in these would be every known backpack and headgear ever including the level 0 items one gets on an engineer so that engineers can complete their steampunk look with ease.)

As you can see from my signature,

- You think someone cares to figure out your own abbreviations and jargon in you miniscule signature?

they mean a public test server. which i agree, this game does need one.

Thank you for that. It’s so weird that the one thing about this title that would be an obvious fix for many a complaint would be an idea that’s so unpopular. Didn’t people come from other titles that didn’t initially have a PTR and then got one later thus improving overall bug fixes almost immediately?

It’s not the idea is unpopular, it’s that ‘PTR’ is a concept specific to a single game and makes no sense to anyone who hasn’t specifically played it and used that test server. I had to google what the hell PTR was, and even then I still needed to scour that game’s forums to make any sense, because they ALSO assumed everyone was familiar with the acronym.

Every game has a test server. Not every game calls it a PTR. You want wider support for your campaign, use terminology everybody gets.

This game doesn’t have a public test realm (server) which is the difference. Not only would that alone go a long way to making sure things like the 30% nerf to grenades doesn;t happen (because people would be able to test these things on people and not on stationary test dummies). Just look at cone attacks, they STILL miss to this day. It’s been how many months now?

IMO this is one of the major things they did right in this game. BIG time better then anything else I’ve ever experienced in the game. The design of this isn’t flawed, what happened was the support for it stopped. So instead of getting new ones per month as the world turned, fleshing out the times in between the timers we got nothing so people are standing around waiting for stuff to happen. If they hadn’t spent the resources on Fractals this would have never happened and this game would be a much more full experience in PVE.

I guess you guys missed the threat, where anet gave a statement about it being a misunderstanding. They made that statement shortly after that rumor came up.

Oh, it wasn’t a Rumor. Jon 100% said it, clear as day.

And I did miss the thread where they “cleared up the misunderstanding.” But I’m willing to bet it was just to put the fire out and to make the angry mob put their pitchforks and torches away. It’d be bad publicity if people knew the lack of effort going towards balancing.

Judging by past class balance patches (lol because there are none), I’m willing to bet Jon’s original statement was the truth.

In many cases it’s very obvious that this is happening even with him admitting to it and yeah I can see them doing the whole PR thing just like they did to sweep under the rug multiple things said in these forums.

I’m not holding my breath for this patch but just watching to I can see what happens. My expectations are now severely low due to the sheer number of horrible patches that the Engineer has received both pre and post them putting out a same day patch notes.

The napalm attack doesn’t explode on impact and doesn’t burn and has a longer range then the #1 attack (weird i know) the .5 second smoke vent doesn’t act like it should (it should create a combo field for blindness for as long as the black powder thief ability does).

Overall this whole kit needs a redo.

However I must point out the sheer staggering number of abilities that the engineer has that don’t burn that should why we have to trait into a limited burn with a cooldown longer then the crit burn duration is beyond weird. Physics people physics.

Not to mention the sheer lack of Meta DE’s instead we got a dungeon.

I thought it was both cheaper and more efficient to put out DE metas because there’s less design cost in both time and resources, at least that’s the impression I got from their pre-launch interviews.

Playerbase declining?

We all want this game to succeed. No one wants any MMO to fail. We get emotional when we get the feeling that the developers don’t care.

That’s the feeling I’ve gotten from them since Nov is that somewhere in there they lost the drive i suppose you could call it to make the game a balanced fun experience. It’s all been about extreme restrictions as if someone was an AD&D rules lawyer sitting there with the book going “ah ah ah! (wagging finger) can’t have that now can we” and allowing common sense solutions to be thrown aside.

What gets me are the number of players that are just clueless about what’s actually going on in the game in places that could easily be improved, nothing is beyond the devs abilities to fix what has been done to this game, nothing.

Ir is true they could have balanced the aggro system to function differently and make it so that healer classes function properly. (the +healing on gear often goes to waste big time on most classes.)

WoW did this, it lasted all of five minutes.

Some pets should be predisposed to knowing where a stealthed enemy is however the player shouldn’t see it. What they did in some games is a ranger with a pet could turn on aggressive and the pet could attack the area and then the player could do an AOE focused on the pet.

Are hardcore players this games worst enemy?

They certainly are in the sense of being completely useless when it comes to fixing the glaring problems with this game design. They troll all kinds of problematic reports by the sensible players every time they post anything and always with the same argument.

Condi damage too low or has a max limit? Lrn2playnub
Loot not dropping off mobs? Lrn2playnub
Healing not functioning like it should? Lrn2playnub
Game has become a dungeon lobby gear treadmill? Lrn2playnub

It’s literally the same argument in every thread. We need real solutions and the faster the obstructionists leave maybe the sooner the devs will listen to reason instead of the “everything is perfect in this game” crowd.

Comfirmed- Nothing being done re: conditions

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Or we can act as spoiled silver spoon brats, demanding it and not careing for objective reasons to why there are such limits.
I stoped taking you seriously moment you said that lead designer doesn’t understand game he made. Luckly there you are to teach him since you understand it way better than people that created it.

This is not a god-given absolute limitation that we have to adhere to, it’s a system that it is inherently flawed and you won’t change that by just turning a blind eye to it.

Yea, it’s basically saying “it’s difficult for us to do and we don’t really give a kitten.” I don’t really get what he’s trying to say in the second paragraph, but he probably has no idea either.
Also, if they feel the system would be too taxing on their hardware if they just lifted the cap, they should certainly try to change the system to match that instead of just leaving it at that. I get the feeling the current bleed mechanic is just awfully coded if it takes that much bandwith and could be adjusted with a few minor tweaks. We all are attacking at a rate of over 1/s second anyway, so there really shouldn’t be that much more server load for conditions.

You and the OP both missed something they could do quite easily that would instantly help, they could restore the damage that conditions USED to do back before they implemented Nov patch. You see, the first month before they made the code between the pve and pvp skills a separate thing, they globally nerfed the conditions on multiple classes at once thus globally nerfing condition initial damage on all characters. Even with leaving in the stacking design flaw (which no game has ever done with HoTs to my knowledge and then made an excuse not to fix them) this removal of the global nerf would fix a bit of the trouble right off the bat.

BTW I completely agree with you. It’s lazy not to fix it. They sure can spend the resources to keep DR in the game and they sure can make sure that the nerfs to the loot tables for the dragon events stay in there to keep people from getting rares and exotics on a regular basis but they can’t take the time to fix this? Sounds fishy to me too.

Is engineer that bad? common

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Engi is only bad because they have different values for condi damage between classes and because there’s a large number of design flaws and bugs that need serious attention(try it, I did, my full exotic condi damage build engi has lower ticks of bleeding then my burst thief and lower ticks of burn damage then my trap ranger, explain that one). It’s not that it’s a bad design it’s that they really haven’t taken serious time on working on it. (except of course the traits. If I’m to believe that this is an adventurer class, then treat it as such, as it is we are cut off from one out of the three Anet trinity roles, DPS, we can do minor support and major CC, but nowhere near the DPS of even the Ranger).

Engi has been as neglected as necro and many of the problems are pretty simple to see if you test properly. PTR would solve a large number of these problems because they would be able to get feedback consistantly from the players on how the abilities function. Instead they test it with a stationary mechanical dummy and expect the numbers and behavior to be perfectly fine (my theory at least). Take grenades for example. There’s no way that they tested those properly. Even the new 5 second cd on the Sigil of Fire doesn’t make up for the damage reduction those. Nor does it make right the constant need to play a concert solo on a keypad just to keep up with it because of ground targeting. Physics are also a big thing. When your genades and bombs fly farther and explode faster underwater then they do on land there’s a fundamental problem here and no one’s even acknowledging it over there.

It’s even worse when they don’t 100% clear a bug, my FT cone attacks still miss if the enemy on to my left or right despite it being an AOE and my character automatically turning. It’s as frustrating as Culling is.

it’s true. any “proc” sigil will share cooldown with a swap sigil.

it’s been theorycrafted to death on the elementalist forums.

This is why the ele guides suggest a stacking sigil to go with their sigils of battle.

Have to say I completely agree, tried this myself the Air on the second pistol never went off so I switched to a stacking condi damage for my dps pistols and the quickness one on my second pistol for my healer set.

Well, I already showed alot of videos about GW2 to my friends and they bought them because of it. One video is the Manifesto Trailer, another is the Get Ready trailer, another is the Teaser Trailer and finally, a few gameplay videos from different uploaders.

Works like a charm, but it depends on how convincing you are

At launch i would have had no trouble showing them those in a heartbeat. But they’re pretty much obsolete and don’t really represent how the game is especially the end game which most of my friends would reach in absolutely no time at all and then sit there glaring at me because they’d know.

Guild Wars Gamer Murders rival gamer in NZ

We occasionally hear about this sort of thing happening. However it’s not due to games despite some in the media and how they portray gamers. It’s a sad reality we live in where crazy people do these things sometimes especially over something as trivial as gaming.

I have to admit I didn’t expect that reaction from the psychologist when i heard the name “ChristChurch” but then I realized it was in NZ, if you say something like that around here in America, the usual explanation is that “those games are going to send those poor souls straight to hellfire and brimstone”. Glad he gave the truly scientific explanation.

As you can see from my signature,

they mean a public test server. which i agree, this game does need one.

Thank you for that. It’s so weird that the one thing about this title that would be an obvious fix for many a complaint would be an idea that’s so unpopular. Didn’t people come from other titles that didn’t initially have a PTR and then got one later thus improving overall bug fixes almost immediately?

Class balances on Feb 26 ?

Seriously, the hate towards classes like Rangers (my main), Engies and Necros (currently at lvl70) is getting out of hand. I seriously love the concept of the later 2 classes and want to fully gear them for dungeons and fractals, but the hate they get is terrible and even their usefulness is very questionable compared to the other ones. Please tell me we can expect something on feb 26th

Completely agree and would love to know the same. Tired of engineer healing being subpar. They not only need to work on dps, condi damage restoration but also they need some serious looks at the way healing is done in this game. Seriously. 1 ability and only 1 ability on the engineer side of things that’s actually properly affected by +healing stats on gear is just not right honestly.

Stop nerfing classes

As you can see from my signature, the one thing that would solve this problem instantly thru player testing is the one thing they don’t wish to do for whatever reason. It’s pretty simple to me that the testing they use is not working especially for PVE because we’re still seeing completely different figures between condi damage amounts between classes and problems with condi damage have not been corrected since they nerf condi builds across the board prior to making a more concerted effort of separating the behaviors of skills between Spvp and pve.

I find it funny that when people bring up how one will indeed have an advantage over other players with full ascended gear on the argument is that gear doesn’t affect the gameplay at all and that people are bad at math.

The moment someone has MF gear on tho people are all claiming that it’s horrible and MF gear causes sooo many deaths.

You can’t have it both ways.

Elites

tigirius.9014

Im not quite sure if there’s already a forum post for this…
but engis need an elite skill rework!!!

Basically there’s only one skill that is useful (supply crate)

The mortar is actually more of a disatvantage if u use it in pvp.. using it has absolutely no point.
Same for the elexir x… why on earth would i use such a skill?!

Compared to other classes (thief: Daggerstorm very strong, thieves guild very strong, basilisk venom very useful, Mesmer: Time warp extremely strong, moa strong… i could go on) it doesn’t seem very fair that the engi only has one real elite.
(and telling me that it depends on the build ur running… nah, it does NOT! the only viable elite is crate.
the 2 others need a complete rework.

Spsssh the mortar is a disadvantage in pve too who are you kidding? LOL

What gets me about the Elixir X is when I’m a tornado enemies can still do damage to me. I’m wind hello, their attacks should no longer hit me, it’s weird. We really need a tank to come mowing thru everything especially as a Charr that would be awesomesauce.
