I’ve noticed a lot more premade teams in unranked than there used to be, and every time I get put against a premade there my team usually loses by a lot. So if I had to guess I’d say that’s why. I’ve also noticed a lot of people in unranked who already have their wings so they will definitely beat anyone who’s new or testing builds if they end up on the opposing team. In other words, people who are usually in ranked are in unranked and it’s making it more difficult especially if you get put on a pug team who really doesn’t know what they are doing xD

so if i see my team zerging a point while the other team has a 2cap on us i should not say anything? if we have a 100 point lead and my team starts goofing off by fighting off point and end up losing i should keep my mouth shut?
anyone have any builds that can carry a team? i tried the meta bunker but its useless with a bad team. i keep hearing get good well i can hold my own but can not carry a team. is their any ranger/druid build that can carry a bad team?

i am thinking of rolling a guardian. i was wondering what your thoughts are on rune of the scrapper? with the 7% added to the signet that can give up to 12% dmg reduction thats a perm 19% dmg reduction . anyone think that could be turned into a good build?

Season 1 MM system was the best, imo. The principle of making fair matches (50/50) for players was correct. However,tanking MMR, premades and smurfing became a thing. Why is that? Your tier and division was GUARANTEED. To this, I say bring in division/tier loss and keep the season 1 MM system. There’s too many situations and games where players are in divisions that they’re not supposed to be in, playing and playing and playing to grind out wins. With division loss, good players will fall, great players will rise. Players will be where they need to be. Good players can help newbies advance, giving them the “rub”. I don’t propose this idea because to be harsh, I propose it to make it fair and fun for ALL players involved. In any competitive ladder, you lose positions. Why not here?
Also, SEPARATE THE QUEUES. No 2-man, no 4-man, separate the leagues into SOLO and TEAMS. Premades were and always will be an obvious problem to try and trick the MM system. Merging queues were the worst thing that was done to gw2 pvp.
I don’t know how many seasons left Anet has in mind for pvp, but people are dwindling. The experiments haven’t really paid off. I will say season 3 is slightly better than season 2, though.
has someone with over 300 matches this season stuck in sapp. i have to agree with this i would much rather go down in divisions and work my way back. up at lest i would have more winning matchs working my way back up. now i am getting massive losing streaks. i feel like a kitten stepping stone at this point
Can you elaborate on why you can only use 1 hand? If you could get your hands on a mouse with a ton of buttons you could put on the Action combat and aim that way and use the mouse buttons for weapon skills, evades, and weapon swaps.

well my biggest problem with it is people do not watch the chat. i would say 75% of the time when the door to the other teams lord is down and my teams door is still up . when i say time to rush lord no one shows up. and end up losing . because the other team was smart enough to send 2 to kill me while i am trying to solo lord . so slowly but surely they get into are lord and they rush and kill it. yep i love it so much i turned it off
I believe that it is not allowed to do ‘naming and shaming’ on the forums so I think you need to remove the name from the screenshot you posted for it to not break the rules.
However, I agree that the most important thing to do in ranked is to keep trying and never go afk. After all, the only thing going afk does, even when 250 points down is turn a 99% chance of a loss into a 100% chance of a loss, which nobody wants. I have a sub-50% win ratio this season after playing about 130 games but what I never do is give up on a game. It is really annoying to have someone go afk on you team. A suggestion would be to have something like an afk-detector which means if somebody has not moved or used skills or not left their base for a certain amount of time, the games treats it like it does a DC and does not take pips away from their team unless they were in a group with that player.
i have a huge win/loss ratio 210 losses 87 wins. however i keep trying. i cant quit for some reason. i do what i can to get better watch whats going on on map more watching youtube videos and so on . one thing i will not do is cry all match making it harder to win. this person i played in 2 matches with. thats all they did to the point of just flat out afking. if anyone cant take a loss then you should not be playing ranked. when this person went afk the match was far from over.
^title , exp buffs increase reward track gain, why cant I use the candy corn gobbler in hotm, makes no sense.
i havent used candy corn in a long time. so i do not remember if it gives you any other buff but any buff that also helps out in power,toughness,vitality,condi,or heal can not be used in pvp
This is what happens when you can’t drop divisions. Matchmaking takes into account your MMR and your pip range.
You shouldn’t have made it into Sapphire. Somehow, you managed to get out of the division you’re supposed to be in, and get into one higher. Probably because you grinded so many games. As a result, you are now the lowest ranked player in your division, and matchmaking can’t find you an opponent who’s as bad as you are. And since you can’t drop back into Emerald, you are stuck there until more and more bad players get into Sapphire.
So the solution now is to wait until more bad players move up so you can start to face them. It’ll happen eventually, the league system is designed so that everyone ends up moving up. You just moved up before the other bad players, so now you have to wait for them to catch up with you.
In a real league system, you would drop back down to emerald or wherever you’re supposed to be over time. Then you’d have more even matches and only move up as your personal skill improves. But because they lock you in, one lucky win streak can screw you over for a while.

@OP: That’s not how it works. They essentially try to find 10 people who are in a close range. They then take the top 5 of those people and put them on one team and the other 5 on the other team.
The original intent was to allow high mmr players to get out of the lower tiers possible. ANET didn’t really think it through though and so now you have a broken matchmaking system.
if this is true why the hell would they put the 5 worst up against the 5 best out of the 10? that means odds are always stacked against one team over the other.. in less i am miss understanding what you said.. if this is true i cant dig out off the hole i am in no matter what i do
i have excepted the fact that i am not going to get any higher in rank. with that said from everything i have read the match making groups people with the same or close to it same mmr. if that is true when are mmr gets so low wouldn’t both teams be full of bad players? witch in turn would end up being a 50/50 win/lose at some point? because it sure doesn’t feel like it seems more like i am nothing but a stepping stone for other players better then are team. i mean this is just nuts
hi guys i thought i would try out the warrior. i am using the meta build .however i can only use one hand and can not use the targeting skill on bow . because i can not use the cursor in pvp. so there is a limit to the classes i can use so i was wondering is there a good alt for the bow with the meta build? thank you for any advice you can give
I don’t think you can learn or be a pro-league player by playing SoloQ, I think you need to find a team to play with and find a better team after that and then find a better team that suits your playrating and then Maby you are in pro-league.
i quit ranked today so it doesn’t matter this post did tons of damage people afking,d/cing when they see me and that crap doesn’t do anyone else in the team any good . or just flat out talk trash the full match whether we are doing good or not yeah i brought it on myself by making posts anyways good luck in ranked
lol you are so lucky best winning streak i have had in solo Q is 2 wins. i took some advice to only go in with a pre-made team and things are 1000x better
Condi warrs are good but dh are not that scary, their traps and attacks are very predictable, if you can dodge/block their traps which are almost always on points you can easily kill them 1 vs 1 on most classes.
Also stacking classes is never a good idea no matter how op a class is, if the enemy has 4 warriors and guards with no support then you shouldn’t lose if you have good support and condi cleanse.
i have got good at dodging traps however when i am busy fighting another person i get pulled into the traps. so now i use signet of stone just for that little trick
Condi Ranger (or more accurately Condi Druid) is fine. I run Axe/Torch and Sword/Dagger. Lots of bleeds, poisons, and burns. I also run spike trap, vipers nest, and entangle. More bleeds and poisons. Why aren’t you running druid?
Cuz you’ll get slaughtered vs average to good players. No damage mitigation, bad condi cleanse, no stability, barely escape options.

I’m seeing match after match with 2-4 Wars and DH on the other side and none on mine. It’s very clear that my side is set to lose. This is not “competitive” it is simply cruelty.

So I’m doing terrible this season. 48 matches with only 17 wins (All of which are followed up by losses) in sapphire. I’m not even past tier 2 because I don’t win games. I’m almost never at the bottom of the scoreboard, I’m often at the top(Though points aren’t an accurate representation of skill). I win most of my 1v1s even against cheese builds on thief. Last season when i had 48 matches I was nearly ruby. Somehow getting to diamond is hard this time around. I never come close to winning and it seems like all the people I que with tend to be really stupid or just bad(At least that’s my opinion). When I talked to people about this they said I should just “git gud”, am i the one who is pulling down my teams? Should I really be able to carry a team or have such a significant difference, even if my teammates do stuff like go onto points against 4 people and die to beasts in the forest map?
I’m not going to be offended by any mean comments as pvp killed my soul, so be honest.

i was in ranked on Legacy of the Foefire. i looked at the other teams class comp and i thought they had to many condi heavy classes and we should go for sides . they said no 1 home 4 mid so i played along i was right it was a slaughter . so i said please dont feed mid and go for sides we need to split them up . they did not bother so i got home and far we had a 2cap 90% of the match but still lost because my team would not stop feeding the mid . any other experienced players any good at helping a team use some sort of strategy. i felt like a major failure. we could have won if they just would have took my advise sad part is it was 3 sapphire 2 ambers v 5 ambers lol….i am really about to call it quits on ranked but i cant stop because i truly believe i belong in legendary…….PS to the newer players. if you ever fight a team like above if your team is not built to handle constent condi do not rush mid you will die. . because you are not getting hit by one of them your getting it by a bunch of people because a lot of the condi skills are aoe. so you need to split them up
I saw a guy complaining in map chat over almost the basically same thing. Pugs not listening to him. Basically advised him to give up and stop.
Here’s why:
1) the pugs don’t know you. You could be a pro level player and get paid and still most won’t know who you are. So why would they listen to you, in their mind you’re just another pug.
2) You aren’t their leader. You maybe experienced and a lot of the time are probably right, but you aren’t their leader, they are going to do what they want at the end of the day. At best you can call targets, write orders and hope they even read mapchat much less look at it.
3) You haven’t proved yourself to them to be worthy of listening to. Again falls back to you’re just another pug to them. In their mind you are just another pug, maybe even one of those bad pugs who keep causing them to lose, same as how you may think of most of them. Its human nature to blame others instead of yourselves. Sad thing is maybe by the end of the match you’ve proven you’re good and know what you’re talking about but by then the match is over.
4) You can’t fix stupid. I literally had a warrior on my team that was horrible, last place by far on both teams, I’m guessing new to pvp or pvp basics and logic 101. Anyways myself and the enemy both downed each other at basically the same time, with him downing me first slightly b/c of cd’s or whatever. Anyways my teammate comes along and tries to F stomp the enemy who had maybe 10% hp or less twice. Both times the enemy stopped the stomp and then rallied off of my body. I call him out on it and explain politely that you don’t need to stomp players with such low hp, you can literally just blink at them and they die. 1 auto attack or less sometimes lol. He then rages and goes on a cap lock spree telling me its my fault because I’m the one who died. I’m like dude, logically, even if it was my fault i died to him, not saying it was or wasn’kittens still your fault for not knowing when to stomp and when to just attack. It’s a pvp basic. Pvp 101. Common sense. Well needless to say he died too to the guy that just rallied, and we lost but life goes on.Point is he was 100% positive in his mind he was right. He did nothing wrong. At that point there is literally nothing you can do to help him, at best hope he thinks about it and doesn’t try to stomp an almost dead player in his next match. But if he doesn’t want to listen to good pvp advice nothing I can do about it.
76 wins out of 197 so keep my mouth shut and keep losing like a champ got it

Let’s start with the basics. The changes to the 50/50 win loss ratio. If one can lose pips and tiers in ruby, how does one ever progress up to diamond or above? B/c you literally lose 50% of the matches anyways. I haven’t done the math but even a 60/40 ratio would take a very long time to grind up.
Now before people troll and say get good, I’m just talking about the math here. Even if one was legendary previous seasons they are still only 1/5 of their team, thus even playing perfectly they can still at most affect 20% of the game. And playing people of = skill or around it kind of means even if you are good the enemy should also be just as good. Or even if your allies are normally decent they could be having a bad game. Point is statically it seems most will be stagnant with no hope of moving on no matter what their skill level is.
The only real solution i see is try your best to win 50% of the time and then pray like crazy for a win streak here and there for the bonus points. That or get lucky and find a decept pvp guild, but after looking for 3 seasons I haven’t even seen one advertise yet in map chat so a lot more rare than you would think.
i guess i should not be surprised Anet cares more about pro league then it does addressing what has been going on with ranked

And frankly I don’t care. I don’t play often, and I’m glad that since the beginning of the season, most of my games have been balanced. Compared to last season, where I had to win 40 games almost in a row to just begin to face somewhat worthy opponents in Diamond, I’d say the matchmaking is much better. The people complaining about not progressing should quit this MMO mentality and realize that in the end, getting good games is all that matters, and that winning is just an added bonus.
i was having a little trouble in ranked so i started messing with my build .has a melee trapper druid i thought i had no need for supers peed never tried it to be honest. i used it and my axe rips threw everything lol dear god it is bad kitten lol and my torch just wow. 3 years what a fool i was
